Omeprazole(OMP) complexes such as inclusion complexes of OMP with $hydroxypropyl-{\beta}-cyclodextrin$(HPCD) and ${\beta}-cyclodextrin({\beta}-CD)$, OMP-cholestyramine(CHL) and OMP-ethylenediamine(OMP-ED) were prepared, respectively. The partition coefficients in Witepsol H-15 /pH 7.4 phosphate buffer solution of OMP complexes$(OMP-HPCD;\;3.69{\pm}0.26,\;OMP-{\beta}-CD;\;4.08{\pm}0.21,\;OMP-CHL;\;4.36{\pm}0.25\;and\;omeprazole\;sodium(OMP-Na);\;3.64{\pm}0.37)$ were higher than that of OMP $(2.66{\pm}0.47)$. OMP was not completely dissolved until even 3 hrs, but all the OMP complexes studied were released about 100% in 20 min. The rectal suppositories containing OMP or each above OMP complex were prepared using Witepsol H-15 base, and their dissolution and stability were examined, and pharmacokinetic study were investigated after their rectal administrations to the rabbits. While the suppository containing OMP was released only less than 60% in 150 min, $OMP-{\beta}-CD$, OMP-CHL, OMP-Na and OMP-ED suppositories were all released about 65% in 20 min. Especially, OMP-HPCD suppository released OMP about 70% in 10 min. All the additives such as sodium laurylsulfate, eglumine, arginine and PVP increased drug release from OMP-HPCD suppository to some extent. The decomposition rate constants of OMP in the suppositories were $9.117{\times}10^{-3}\;day^{-l}$ for OMP suppository, $2.121{\times}10^{-2}$ for OMP-HPCD, $1.607{\times}10^{-2}$ for $OMP-{\beta}-CD$, $9.26{\times}10^{-3}$ for OMP-Na, $6.769{\times}10^{-3}$ for OMP-CHL and $5.58{\times}10^{-3}\;day^{-l}$ for OMP-ED suppository, respectively. Additives such as arginine, eglumine and ED had some stabilizing effect for OMP-HPCD, OMP-CHL and OMP-Na suppositories, respectively. After 6 month-storage at $30^{\circ}C$, 75% RH, OMP-CHL suppository was most stable. The values of Tmax for OMP-HPCD and OMP-Na suppositories were $11.7{\pm}2.36\;and\;11.4{\pm}2.56\;min$, respectively. The values of Cmax for OMP-HPCD and OMP-CHL suppository were $2.31\;{\mu}g/ml\;(p<0.01)\;and\;1.89\;{\mu}g/ml\;p<0.01)$, respectively. The values of AUC for OMP and $OMP-{\beta}-CD$ suppository were $61.9{\pm}25.79\;and\;68.6{\pm}29.48\;{\mu}g\;{\cdot}\;min/ml$, and the corresponding values for OMP-HPCD and OMP-CHL were $106.1{\pm}43.16\;(p<0.05)\;and\;127.3{\pm}42.52\;{\mu}g\;{\cdot}\;min/ml(p<0.01)$, respectively. The above results indicate the OMP-HPCD and OMP-CHL suppositories have the excellent bioavailabilties in vivo study.
Chumsungdae is an ancient astronomical observatory whose main role was doing 'chunmoon'. It was administrate by a royal advisory agency on state affairs. The observers observed the heaven on the observatory platform, recorded peculiar events, and watched and interpreted the signs displayed in the heaven. Chumsungdae is an stonemasonry which represents almanac principles with its peculiar shapes and the numbers of strata and stones. The numbers were thoroughly invented to match exactly the almanac constants. Chumsungdae is comprised largely of three main parts, namely the square base, the stratified cylindrical body, and the top #-shaped stonework, and the total number of stones is 404. The number of the strata (27) and the height of the cylindrical body (27 尺) stand for the days in a sidereal month (27.3 days), which implies that the motion of the Moon with respect to the stars was given more priority than to the Sun at that time of geocentricism. And the cylindrical body was thoroughly designed to consist of 365 stones, which is of course the number of days in a solar year. In addition, there are 12 strata each under and above the south entrance and this in sum makes the 24 divisions of the year. Also there is 182 stones below the 13th stratum and this represents the number of days in the winter ~ summer solstice period, and the rest 183 stones the vice versa. The #-shaped top stonework was aligned in such a way that one of the diagonals points the direction of sunrise on the winter solstice. The square base also layed with the same manner. The south entrance was built 16 degrees SE, and the upright direction of the right pillar stone coincides with the meridian circle. This was a kind of built-in standard meridian circle facilitating the observations. In a symbolic sense, Chumsungdae was thought as the tunnel reaching the heaven, where the observers wished to be enlightened with the signs and inspirations in need. With the craftsmanship and skill, the builder reinforced the stratified cylindrical body with two sets of #-shaped beam stones, piercing at a right angle at 19th ~ 20th and 25th ~ 26th strata. Likewise, by placing the double #-shaped stonework with 8 beam stones on the platform of the observatory, both the stability of the stonemasonry and a guard rail for the nightly observers were securely provided.
The stability constants of the charge-transfer complexes formed between three derivatives of nitrobenzene, i.e., 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene, m-dinitrobenzene, nitrobenzene and eleven organic molecules such as $\alpha-picoline$, pyridine, dimethylsulfoxide, N, N'-dimethylacetamide, tetrahydrofurane, 1, 4-dioxane, diethyl ether, acetonitrile, propylene oxide, epichlorohydrine, and methyl acetate, have been determined by ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy in carbon tetrachloride solution at 25.0$^{\circ}C$. The parameters of the electrostatic effect ($E_D$) and covalent effect ($C_D$) for the eleven organic compounds have been calculated from the modified equation of the double-scale enthalpy,$logK = E_AC_A+E_DC_D$ and also the shift of C=O vibrational frequency in infrared spectra for N,N'-dimethylacetamide have been measured from the solutions of above organic compounds. The empirical equation, ${\Delta}{\nu}_{C=O} = 37.4-5.47E_D+12.1C_D$, related to the parameters and the frequency shift has been derived. It seems that the stabilities of the complexes principally depend on the covalent effect. Especially it is found that $\pi$ orbitals in molecules, in addition to the parameters, play the important role in forming the charge-transfer complexes.

The complexation of cadmium(II) with a well characterized local soil fulvic acid was investigated at different solution pH and fulvic acid concentration using ion selective electrode. The stability constants were determined using a continuous distribution model based on Scatchard Plot; this model takes into consideration the diversitv of cation binding sites on a naturally occurring organic macromolecules even if the nature of the binding sites may not be known. The mean value of $logKi(\mu)$ was found to increase at higher pH(pH 4.0: ${\mu}=3.79{\pm}0.74$ l\;mol^{-1}; pH 6.0: ${\mu}=4.51{\pm}0.78$ l\;mol^{-1}$), and in more dilute fulvic acid concentration([FA] = 50 mgl$^{-1}: {\mu}=4.16{\pm}0.60$ l\;mol^{-1}; [FA]=151 mgl$^{-1}:{\mu}=3.75{\pm}0.5\;l\;mol^{-1}$). The intrinsic constant(logKint) for binding at the strongest site was measured to be around $4.72\;l\;mol^{-1}$ at both pH4.0 and 5.0, but was found to be increased to $6.03\;l\;mol^{-1}$ when pH was 6.0.
The effects of reaction temperature and the level of hydration(water activity) were studied for gas phase reactions of alcohol oxidase and alcohol dehydrogenase immobilized on DEAE-cellulose and controlled pore glass(CPG). Optimum reaction temperature zone of gas phase reaction was similar to that of aqueous phase reaction. The activity of alcohol oxidase increased dramatically and the stability decreased when the water activity was increased from 0.3 to 0.8. The apparent activation energies of the gas phase reaction decreased approaching the values obtained in the aqueous phase reaction as the water activity increased. In the both cases of alcohol oxidase and alcohol dehydrogenase, the rate constants of the gas phase reaction were lower than those of aqueous phase reaction by two orders of magnitude and these results could be correlated to the vapor-liquid equilibrium data of the substrate, ethanol.

Although a polypyrrole shows better electrical conductivity, 100∼400 ${\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$, than other organic conducting polymers, its electrical conductivity will be worsen in the presence of the oxygen due to its easy oxidation. On the other hand, polythiophene shows better stability in the air while its electrcal conductivity is poor compared to the polypyrrole. We succeed to develope the mixed polymer electrode that is stable in the air and shows a good redox characteristics. The mixed polymer electrode has been prepared by the electrical polymerization of polypyrrole on the Pt electrode as 1.70 C$cm^{-2}$ and then coating with polythiophene as 0.34 C$cm^{-2}$. The polymerization rate of polythiophene was $3.89{\times}10^{-8}$ at the bare Pt electrode and $6.07{\times}10^{-8}cms^{-1}$ at the mixed polymer electrode. And the standard rate constants of each electrode were $5.16{\times}10^{-6}\;and\;3.94{\times}10^{-4} cms^{-1}$ respectively. Also, the electrocatalytic rate of the polypyrrole polymer electrode was $3.45{\times}10^{-3}cm^3mol^{-1}s^{-1}.$ We found the immobilized layer at the modified electrode acted as an electrocatalyst. Finally, this polymerization process at the Pt electrode was the electron transfer controlled, but that the mixed polymer electrode was the diffusion and charge transfer controlled.
The uranium(VI) complexes with new unsaturated macrocyclic ligands of cryptand types and the neodymium(III) complexes with cryptand 222 and DBC ligands have been investigated polarographically in dimethylsulfoxide solvent. The reduction states, electron numbers involved in the reduction process, effects of the added acid on the polarograms of complexes, and the mechanisms of the reduction electrode reactions have been examined. The stability constants and mole-ratio of new complexes were also obtained by polarographic method. The reaction of ligands was controlled by the diffusion in the reduction with four electrons at a step, whereas the redox reaction with six electrons at three steps in $UO_2\;^{2+}$ complexes with macrocyclic ligands and the redox reaction with one electron at a step in $Nd^{3+}$ complexes with cryptand 222 and DBC have been observed. The imine ligands formed stable complexes with uranium(VI) above pH 7.0, and the neodymium(III) complexes with cryptand 222 and DBC ligands were stable above pH 4.0.
This study was conducted to enhance the storage stability of fermented shrimp with different salt contents using a high hydrostatic pressure. The effects of the magnitude of pressure and treatment time on the microorganisms of the fermented shrimp were investigated. The highest microbial counts with respect to the salt levels were observed at 18% salt, showing $3.4{\times}10^5\;CFU/g$ for general bacteria, $6.4{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$ for halophilic bacteria, $4.2{\times}10^5\;CFU/g$ for yeast and $3.0{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$ for halophilic yeast. The degree of sterilization increased with the magnitude of pressure and treatment time, and the sterilization could be analyzed by the first order reaction kinetics. The sterilization rate constants $(k_p)$ of the halophilic bacteria was lower than that of general bacteria. The $log(k_p)$ increased linearly with pressure and the slope of the regression line of the halophilic bacteria was greater than that of general bacteria, indicating that the sterilization of the halophilic bacteria was more dependent on the pressure. High hydrostatic pressure treatment was an effective non-thermal sterilization method for the salted and fermented shrimp, and the optimum treatment condition was for 10 min at 6,500 atm.
This research studies the stabilization method for improved soil sloped through the on-site application of Paper Flyash ground stabilizers. The target strength required for improved soil is 500 kPa, and the compressive strength for the slope surface needs to be less than 1,000 kPa after the improvement in order to plant vegetation. To meet this condition, we mixed soil from the site and the ground stabilization material, which is the main material for surface improvement material, performed mixing design and conducted various tests including strength test, permeability test and plantation test. After analyzing the results of the compression test on improved soil slope, we proposed soil constants for the improved soil. In order to evaluate the applicability of the improved soil on the slope, the site construction was carried out on the collapsed slope and the reinforcement evaluation of the surface of the improvement soil was conducted. The stability was not secured before the reinforcement, but the test shows after the reinforcement with improved soil, the safety rate is secured up to 48 hours during the raining period. In addition, the compressive strength of the improved soil at the site was secured at more than 200 kPa adhesion as planned, and the soil hardness test result was also found to be within the specified value of 18-23 mm, which increased the resistance to rainfall and ability to grow plant on the surface for improved soil.

This review is presented under the following headings: 1.Introduction 1.1 Brief review of the properties of AlN 1.2 Historical survey of work on ceramic and single crystal AlN 2.Thermochemical background 3.Crystal growth 4.Doping 5.Potential applications and future work The known properties of AlN which make it of interest for various are discussed briefly. The properties include chemical stability, crystal structure and lattice constants, refractive indices and other optical properties, dielectric constant, surface acoustic wave velocity and thermal conductivity. The history of work in single crystals, thin films and ceramics are outlined and the thermochemistry of AlN reviewed together with some of the relevant properties of aluminium and nitrogen; the problems encountered in growing crystals of AlN are shown to arise directly from these thermochemical relationships. Methods have been reported in the literature for growing AlN crystals from melts, solution and vapour and these methods are compared critically. It is proposed that the only practicable approach to the growth of AlN is by vapour phase methods. All vapour based procedures share the share the same problems: $.$the difficulty of preventing contamination by oxygen & carbon $.$the high bond energy of molecular nitrogen $.$the refractory nature of AlN (melting point~3073K at 100ats.) $.$the high reactivity of Al at high temperatures It is shown that the growth of epitactic layers and polycrystalline layers present additional problems: $.$chemical incompatibility of substrates $.$crystallographic mismatch of substrates $.$thermal mismatch of substrates The result of all these problems is that there is no good substrate material for the growth of AlN layers. Organometallic precursors which contain an Al-N bond have been used recently to deposit AlN layers but organometallic precursors gave the disadvantage of giving significant carbon contamination. Organometallic precursors which contain an Al-N bound have been used recently to deposit AlN layers but organometallic precursors have the disadvantage of giving significant carbon contamination. It is conclude that progress in the application of AlN to optical and electronic devices will be made only if considerable effort is devoted to the growth of larges, pure (and particularly, oxygen-free) crystals. Progress in applications of epi-layers and ceramic AlN would almost certainly be assisted also by the availability of more reliable data on the pure material. The essential features of any stategy for the growth of AlN from the vapour are outlined and discussed.
