Auto_LISP을 이용한 기어설계 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Gear Design Program by using Auto_LISP)

  • Gear design carried in former type determined a few variables like module, pressure angle, helix angle. After investigating repeatedly results obtained through stress analysis and making a determination an optimal shape, but its design process was not only complex but also difficult to get a precise profile curve from operating by hand. In this study, rotating shape of gear profile curves were generated automatically with standard spur gear, equivalent helical gear, shifted gear & pinion by using developed program which is Auto_LISP language supported in Auto-CAD. Output tooth profile by using CAE program is applied as Preprocessor for stress analysis in each contact points. This program which can be determined rapidly an optimal shape of gear will be successfully supported for Small & Medium companies designing and manufacturing gears by using Auto-CAD.

  • We develop a method to analyze dynamic behavior off multi-stage gear train system. The example system consists of three shafts supported by ball bearings at the ends of them and two pairs of spur gear set. For exact analysis, the meshing tooth pair of gear set is modeled as spring and damper having time-dependent meshing stiffness and damping. The bearing is modeled as spring. The result of this analysis is compared to that of other model having mean mesh stiffness. The effect of the excitation force by the unbalance off rotor off motor is also analyzed. Finally, the change ova natural frequency of the whole system due to the change of an angle between three shafts is compared in each case, and from this analysis, the avoiding angle for design is advised.

  • This paper presents a comparison study between simulation and experiment for fault diagnostics of a spur gear. In simulation, fault diagnostics using transmission error (TE) was performed and concluded to be valid. In a real experiment, however, it is not as easy to detect faults of gears using TE as in simulation. In this paper, after seeding the various faults like tooth crack of different length, tooth breakage and spalling in test rig, TE was calculated. Then, several signal processing techniques were performed to overcome the limitations of an experiment in detecting the fault signals of TE. After signal processing, we could detect the various faults of spur gears and different amplitude of TE sparks from cracks of different length. Then we discussed the difference between simulation and experment.

  • Understanding and control of thermal history of heat-treated components are very important in heat treating process. A computer program was developed for prediction of thermal history in quenching process with various cooling media and agitation conditions. Computer simulation of heat flow in quenching treatment of spur gear of SCM 22 H was carried out by two and three dimensional finite difference method.   • Manufacturing technologies of micro parts were studied in nano grained Al-1.5mass%Mg alloy. During compressive test at $300^{\circ}C$, the Al alloy showed stain softening phenomenon by grain boundary sliding regardless of strain rate. Micro spur gear with ten teeth (height of $200{\mu}m$ and pitch of $250{\mu}m$) was fabricated with sound shape by micro forging. During micro forging, increase of applied stress induced by friction between material and die surface was effectively compensated by decrease of stress by strain softening behavior and as a result, flow stress increased only about 50 MPa more than that in compressive test

  • A comparative study is made on root bending fatigue performance of spur gears and plane bending fatigue performance of notched test bars. R = 0 root bending fatigue tests are made on small spur gears with critical root radius 1.0 mm. The results are compared to plane bending fatigue tests of 0.9 mm radius notched specimens. Results are presented for tests on 4%Ni/2%Cu/1.5%Mo prealloyed PM steel with addition of about 0.6% graphite. Predicted values from the test bars coincide well with the results obtained from the gear root fatigue tests.

스퍼어 기어의 밀폐단조에 관한 상계해석 (An upper bound analysis for closed-die forging of spur gear forms)

  • A kinematically admissible velocity field for the numerical analysis of closed-die forging process of spur gear is proposed. The velocity field is divided into three regions of deformation. In the analysis, the involute curve is approximated to be straight line and the upper-bound method is used to calculate energy dissipation rate. A constant frictional frictional factor has been assumed on the contacting surfaces. The effects of root diameter, number of teeth, and friction factor are determined on the relative forging pressure. The frictionless relative pressure is independent of root diameter for the same number of teeth, but increases with the number of teeth on a given root diameter. In the presence of friction, the relative forging presure increasing root diameter at the start of forging, but decreases with increasing root diameter in the processing of forging.

  • 기어의 구동은 여러 기계요소에서 동력전달을 가능하게 해주는 가장 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 기어 접촉면에서의 상태는 마모, 재료의 변형 그리고 윤활 상태에 따라 크게 좌우되며, 이러한 상태 변화는 기어의 수명에 큰 영향을 준다. 따라서, 이러한 상태 진단에 대한 해법은 원활한 구동을 위한 필수요소이다. 기어의 상태 변화는 연마 마모(Abrasive wear), 점식 (Pitting), 스커핑(Scuffing), 스폴링(Spalling) 등을 유발하며, 이러한 마모들은 기어로부터 발생하는 진동 레벨을 상승시킨다. 본 연구에서는 스퍼 기어를 장착한 기어 박스를 이용한 실험적 연구를 통해 기어의 표면 피로 마모를 평가하기 위해 진동 신호로부터 구해진 통계적 변수들과 Stribeck Curve 와의 상관관계를 검증하였다.

자동차용 프리텐셔너의 성능향상을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study to Improve the Performance of the Pretensioner for a Passenger Vehicle)

  • This study presents the practical design modification to improve the retracting performance of the pyro-typed high power pretensioner. 3 components of the pretensioner are redesigned and the usefulness of the design modification is verified by the experiment. During the pretensioning process, the gas blast generated from the gunpowder is transferred to the rack-pinion gear through the manifold. The rack-pinion gear is connected with the spool where the webbing is rolled up. According to the rotation of the pinion, the spool is turned and the webbing is winded. To help the gas blast flow well, the shape of the inner cross section of the manifold is changed. The spur gear design program is developed and used to find the best combination of the rack-pinion gear pair to increase the power transmission efficiency. The pinion guide is installed on the spool to prevent the vibration of the pinion. As a result of the experiment, the amount of the web retraction length is increased when every single design modification is applied. Therefore, the retracting performance of the pretensioner is considered to be improved if the presented design modifications are applied.
