Recently broadband convergence network technology is emerging as an integrated network of telecommunication, broadcasting and Internet. But there are various threats as side effects against the growth of information technology, and malicious codes such af Internet worms may bring about confusions to upset a national backbone network. In this paper, we survey the traditional spreading models and propose a new worm spreading model on Internet environment. We also analyze the spreading effects due to tile spread period and the response period of Internet worms. The proposed model leads to a better prediction of the scale and speed of worm spreading. It can be applied to high-speed network such as broadband convergence network.
Warm or waste water discharged from offshore-based facilities often causes environmental polution as it is transported to coastal area due to tidal actions. In this research a floating-type current control structure is introduced in order to reduce the pollutant spreading in the coastal area. Effectivenss of the structure is investigated through the numerical experiment which is based on a 3-D finite difference multi-level scheme. The warm-water spreading in the bay is reduced when the draft of the structure increases and its optimum draft is found to be between 0.25h and 0.65h, where h is the water depth. The proposed structure is also tested in the Gohyun Bay and it ts proven to be applied to controllling pollutant spreading if its draft is properly chosen.

With the advent of 5G communications, internet of vehicles technology has been widely used in vehicles. Then the dynamic spread of information between vehicles began to come into focus with more research. It is well known that the identification of nodes with great spread influence has always been a hot topic in the field of information spreading. Most of the existing work measures the propagation influence by degree centrality, betweenness centrality and closeness centrality. In this paper, we will identify influential vehicle nodes based on the mobility characteristics of vehicles to explore the information spreading between vehicles in VANETs. Different from the above methods, we mainly explore the influence of the radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel on information spreading. We use a real vehicle trajectory data to simulate the information transmission process between vehicles based on the susceptible-infected-recovered SIR model. The experimental results show that the influence of information spreading does not enhance with increasing radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel. The fact is that both the radius of gyration and the distance travelled have a significant influence on information spreading when they are close to the median. When the value of both is large or small, it has little influence on information spreading. In view of this results, we can use the radius of gyration and vehicle kilometers of travel to better facilitate the transmission of information between vehicles.

The flow and heat transfer characteristics of the ex-vessel core melt (corium) were investigated using a commercial CFD code along with the experimental data on the spreading of corium available in the literature (VULCANO VE-U7 test). In the numerical simulation of the unsteady two-phase flow, the volume-of-fluid model was applied for the spreading and interfacial surface formation of corium with the surrounding air. The effects of the key parameters were evaluated for the corium spreading, including the radiation, decay heat, temperature-dependent viscosity and initial temperature of corium. The results showed a reasonable trend of corium progression influenced by the changes in the radiation, decay heat, temperature-dependent viscosity and initial temperature of corium. The modeling of the viscosity appropriate for corium and the radiative heat transfer was critical, since the front progression and temperature profiles were strongly dependent on the models. Further development is required for the code to consider the formation of crust on the surfaces of corium and the interaction with the substrate.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of energy and access methods on extrahepatic tumor spreading and the ablation zone in an ex vivo subcapsular tumor mimic model with a risk of extrahepatic tumor spreading. Materials and Methods: Forty-two tumor-mimics were created in bovine liver blocks by injecting a mixture of iodine contrast material just below the liver capsule. Radiofrequency (RF) ablations were performed using an electrode placed parallel or perpendicular to hepatic surface through the tumor mimic with low- and high-power protocols (groups 1 and 2, respectively). Computed tomography (CT) scans were performed before and after ablation. The presence of contrast leak on the hepatic surface on CT, size of ablation zone, and timing of the first roll-off and popping sound were compared between the groups. Results: With parallel access, one contrast leak in group 1 (1/10, 10%) and nine in group 2 (9/10, 90%) (p < 0.001) were identified on post-ablation CT. With perpendicular access, six contrast leaks were identified in each group (6/11, 54.5%). The first roll-off and popping sound were significantly delayed in group 1 irrespective of the access method (p = 0.002). No statistical difference in the size of the ablation zone of the liver specimen was observed between the two groups (p = 0.247). Conclusion: Low-power RF ablation with parallel access is proposed to be effective and safe from extrahepatic tumor spreading in RF ablation of a solid hepatic tumor in the subcapsular location. Perpendicular placement of an electrode to the capsule is associated with a risk of extrahepatic tumor spreading regardless of the power applied.

Landslide model experiments considering hourly rainfall were performed to investigate and predict the run out distance induced by landslides. The model flume and the rainfall simulator were designed and produced. The model flume was designed in consideration of the landslide characteristics of Korea. The landslides in Korea were mainly occurred in the interface between soil layer and rock layer. The rainfall simulator was produced for controlling hourly rainfall ranged from 100mm/hr to 1,000mm/hr. Jumnunjin standard sand as slope soils was placed on the model flume. The model experiments were performed with changing the hourly rainfall ranged from 150mm/hr to 250mm/hr. In this experiments, the inclination of slope was 25o and the relative density of slope soils was 35%. As a result of experiments, the pore water pressure is rapidly increased at landslide occurring time, and the scale of landslide is increased with increasing in hourly rainfall. The spreading range of run out distance is occurred with pan type, and the spreading width and length are rapidly increased in its early stage and slowly increased after early stage. Also, The increasing velocity of run out distance of debris is influenced by hourly rainfall.

Internet becomes more and more popular, and most companies and institutes use web services for e-business and many other purposes. With the explosion of Internet, the occurrence of cyber terrorism has grown very rapidly. Simulation is one of the most widely used method to study internet worms. But, it is quite challenging to simulate very large-scale worm attacks because of various reasons. In this paper, we propose a hybrid modeling method for RCS(Random Constant Spreading) worm simulation. The proposed hybrid model simulates worm attacks by synchronizing modeling network and packet network. So, this model will be both detailed enough to generate realistic packet traffic, and efficient enough to model a worm spreading through the Internet. Moreover, our model have the capability of dynamic updates of the modeling parameters. Finally, we simulate the hybrid model with the CodeRed worm to show validity of our proposed model for RCS worm simulation.
We reviewed various oil-spill models and condensed the integrated information into a prediction model, “Green Sea Ranger”which is applicable to Korean coastal area. The developed software consists of pre- and post-modules for environment setup and display of results and main module for the prediction of oil\`s fate. In the pre-module target areas can be selected from the included geographic information system and various environmental and optional numerical data for the prediction can be input through easy GUI or imported from the database we established. For the fate of the spilt oil we included effects of spreading, advection, evaporation, and emulsification. Preliminary numerical experiment has proved that the developed oil-spill prediction system can be easily utilized in on-site oil recovery operations which usually require a quick and reasonable prediction.
This paper introuces a new efficient method of synchronization acquisition which is the most important element in DS-CDMA system using the phase offset of binary code. This approach uses the binary code function which can easily estimate the phase offset from the received spreading waveforms which respect to the receiver-stored replica of the spreading code. This paper proposes the initial acquisition model with repeat error control device that is good for perfomance. The hardware is implemented by TMS320c30
The researches of science and engineering need the latest information from internet resources. But searching and filtering processes of appropriate web documents from huge internet resources are very complex as well as having some repeated procedures. In this paper, I propose a Personalized Agent System(PAS), which can filter World Wide Web Documents that the user is interested, such as papers. To do this, PAS uses a modified spreading activation neural network which 1 propose here. PAS observes the user´s local paper database to analyze, adapt and learn the user interests, and the then constructs the user-specified neural network model by the analyzed interests ...
