MC-CDMA 기반의 SVC 전송 시스템에서 계층 간 차등 OVSF코드 할당 기법에 관한 연구 (A study on Scalable Video Coding Signals Transmission using inter-layer Differential OVSF code allocation scheme in MC-CDMA)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 채널 환경과 요구 화질 조건에서 사용자의 QoS(Quality of Service)를 만족시키기 위한 영상 전송 방법에 대하여 제안하였다. SVC(Scalable Video Coding) 전송 기법은 비디오 신호를 중요도를 고려한 계층별 신호로 인코딩하여 전송하기 때문에, 비디오 신호 전송에 있어 효과적인 방법이다. 하지만 다양한 채널 환경에 대해서 적응적으로 다수의 사용자가 요구하는 각각의 성능을 선택적으로 만족시키는 기술에 대한 연구는 미비하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 MC-CDMA기반의 SVC 전송 시스템에서 계층 간 차등 OVSF(Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor) 코드 할당 기법을 통해 SVC 계층 간 protection order를 보장하고 수신부로부터의 피드백을 통해 MC-CDMA의 sub-block과 각각의 계층 신호에 할당된 OVSF 길이를 조절하여 전송함으로써 다양한 채널 환경에서 각각의 사용자의 전송 환경에 따른 최적의 영상품질을 제공하는 적응 전송 시스템을 제안한다. 모의실험을 통해 제안 시스템의 성능분석을 실시한 결과 BER 성능이 향상되어 사용자의 QoS 만족이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

다중전송률 MC DS/CDMA 시스템의 복합간섭제거기법에 대한 연구 (The Study on Hybrid Interference Cancellation Methods for Multirate MC DS/CDMA System)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중 전송률을 갖는 다중 캐리어(MC) DS/CDMA 시스템에서 OVSF코드를 사용한 새로운 코드 그룹화 간섭제거기를 제안한다. 사용자들은 가변처리이득을 만족하기 위하여 전송률에 따라 길이가 다른 OVSF 코드를 할당하며 대표코드가 같은 OVSF 코드를 사용하는 사용자들을 그룹화 한다. 제안된 코드그룹화 간섭제거기는 그룹간 간섭을 제거한 후 그룹내 간섭을 차례로 제거한다. 간섭제거기는 간섭사용자들의 정확한 정보 없이 원하는 사용자의 코드 정보만 알고 있어도 간섭제거 및 사용자신호의 검출이 가능하다. 제안된 시스템은 그룹 단위의 처리를 통하여 간섭을 보다 쉽고 간단하게 제거함으로써 성능이 향상되며 기존 방식보다 효율적인 시스템을 구현할 수 있다. BER 성능을 주파수 선택적 레일리 페이딩 채널 하에서 분석하였으며 제안된 시스템을 다중 전송률 DS/CDMA 시스템과 비교하였다. 제안한 시스템을 동일 대역폭과 동일 처리이득에 따라 성능을 분석하였으며, 간섭제거기를 사용하여 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있다.

Full-scale investigations into installation damage of nonwoven geotextiles

  • Due to the importance of soil reinforcement using geotextiles in geotechnical engineering, study and investigation into long-term performance, design life and survivability of geotextiles, especially due to installation damage are necessary and will affect their economy. During installation, spreading and compaction of backfill materials, geotextiles may encounter severe stresses which can be higher than they will experience in-service. This paper aims to investigate the installation damage of geotextiles, in order to obtain a good approach to the estimation of the material's strength reduction factor. A series of full-scale tests were conducted to simulate the installation process. The study includes four deliberately poorly-graded backfill materials, two kinds of subgrades with different CBR values, three nonwoven needle-punched geotextiles of classes 1, 2 and 3 (according to AASHTO M288-08) and two different relative densities for the backfill materials. Also, to determine how well or how poorly the geotextiles tolerated the imposed construction stresses, grab tensile tests and visual inspections were carried out on geotextile specimens (before and after installation). Visual inspections of the geotextiles revealed sedimentation of fine-grained particles in all specimens and local stretching of geotextiles by larger soil particles which exerted some damage. A regression model is proposed to reliably predict the installation damage reduction factor. The results, obtained by grab tensile tests and via the proposed models, indicated that the strength reduction factor due to installation damage was reduced as the median grain size and relative density of the backfill decreases, stress transferred to the geotextiles' level decreases and as the as-received grab tensile strength of geotextile and the subgrades' CBR value increase.

Thermal Effluent through Extruded Side Channel

  • The reattachment of buoyant efflluent to a shore in a crossflow is investigated experimentally. The effluent is prodeced by discharging heated water through a projected side channel into a confined crossflow of the same depth. In the projecting effluent, the size of recirculating region, which is formed by deflected thermal plume on the lee of the effluent, tends to increase, but the maximum temperature decreases in the direction of the crossflow and it has more uniform transverse spreading compared to non-projected type. The heat flux across the crossflow is found to be independent of the projceted length of the side channel under relatively high buoyancy flux on the contrary to low buoyancy flux. The reattachment of th effluent can be specified by both velocity ratio and densimetric Froude number, whereas only the velocity ratio is governing factor to the reattachment of the effluent in the case of non-projecting type.

  • We present in this paper the ture union bound of the performance of chip level detection for coded DS/CDMA system operating in Rician fading channels such as LEO satellite mobile radio where the maximum doppler frequency is very high. The main objective of this paper is to calculate the exact doe union bound of BER performance of different performance of different quadrature detectors and to find a optimum spreading factor as a function of fade rate. The rationale of using multiple chip detection is to reduce the effective fade rate or variation. We considered chip level differential detection, chip level maximum likelihood sequence estimation, noncoherent detection and coherent detection with perfect channel state information as a reference.

  • 바이너리 CDMA(B-CDMA) 기술은 CDMA 신호의 크기를 일정하게 유지시키는 새로운 변조 기법이다. 다중코드CDMA 신호를 일정한 레벨의 신호로 양자화한 후 변조함으로써 B-CDMA 기술은 CDMA 신호가 가지는 장점들을 유지하는 동시에 최대전력 대 평균전력의 비율을 감소시킨다. 본 논문에서는 확산인자가 현저히 작지 않은 가정 하에 B-CDMA시스템의 성능을 다중 경로 페이딩 환경에서 분석한다. 수학적 분석 결과는 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통하여 검증된다.

  • The interface between two different materials in the insulation systems is the weak-link in the underground power transmission systems, In this paper, Optimum conditions of the interface between Epoxy and EPDM is studied. The variation factor condition of interface is roughness of surface, spreading of oils, interfacial pressure and temperature. The breakdown times under the constant voltage below the breakdown voltage were also gained. The breakdown voltage at the after laying time equivalent to is calculated by the V-t characteristic and the inverse power law. When this is done, the characteristic life exponent n is used and the long time breakdown voltage can be evaluated.

난류유동 해석을 위한 νt-κ-γ 모델의 개발 (Development of νt-κ-γ Turbulence Model for Computation of Turbulent Flows)

  • A new eddy viscosity equation was formulated from assumption of turbulence length scale equation and specific dissipation ratio equation. Then, a set of turbulence model equations for the turbulent kinetic energy ${\kappa}$, the viscosity ${\nu}_t$, and the intermittency factor ${\gamma}$ is proposed by considering the entrainment effect. Closure coefficients are determined by experimental data and resorting to numerical optimization. Present model has been applied to compute four representative cases of free shear flows and successfully compared with experimental data. In particular, the spreading rate, the centreline mean velocity and the profiles of intermittency are calculated with improved accuracy. Also, the proposed ${\nu}_t-{\kappa}-{\gamma}$ model was applied to channel flow by considering the wall effect and the results show good agreements with the Direct Numerical Simulation data.

바인더의 종류 및 배합비율이 잉크제트 인쇄특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the Type and Blending Ratio of Binders on Ink-jet Printing Properties)

  • In this paper, PVA(polyvinylalcohol), oxidized starch and SBR latex were used as binders for ink-jet printing papers, and their effects of the type and blending ratio of binders on ink-jet printing properties were compared. In case of coating color using PVA mainly used for a binder in ink-jet printing, spreading of printed letters decreased and excellent images were manifested resulting from strong hydrophilic of PVA. However, increasing solids content of coating color was somewhat limited because of the interaction of PVA and functional groups in silica as well as high molecular weight of PVA. When oxidized starch and SBR latex were mixed with PVA at desirable ratio to solve these problems, runnability in coating process was improved and good printing properties were shown. Gloss was improved when latex was used along with PVA as a binder because of the thermoplastic property of the latex. From this result, possibilities of high solids content and high gloss ink-jet printing papers were investigated.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa 세포질외 serine계열 단백질 분해효소의 정제 및 특성 (Purification and Characterization of Extracellular Proteinase Produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa)

  • A serine proteinase of molecular weight 60 kd was purified from culture supernatant of P. aeruginosa using DEAE-Trisacryl M ion-exchange and AcA 54 gel filtration column chromatography, and the properties of serine proteinase were characterized. By means of SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the molecular weight of the enzyme was 55 kd. The optimal pH for the activity of purified enzyme was 7.5. The activity of the purified enzyme was completely inhibited by Di-isopropylfluorophosphate(DFP) and N-.alpha.-p-tosyl-L-lysine choloromethyl detone(TLCK) but not by other proteinase inhibitors such as E-64, pepstatin A, 1, 10-phenanthroline. The purified enzyme was capable of degrading type I and type IV collagen. Antisera obtained from hymans infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa reacted to the purified serine proteinase in immunoblots. These results indicate that the purified enzyme is trypsin-like serine proteinase and this enzyme of P. aeruginosa may play an important role in tissue damage as a spreading factor and may be useful for serodiagnosis of Pseudomonas infections.
