미생물 셀룰로오스를 이용한 한지의 인쇄적성 개선에 관한 연구 (Printability Improvement of Hanji using Microbial Cellulose from Saprolegnia ferax)

  • This study was performed to improve the printability of Hanji using a microbial cellulose from Saprolegnia ferax through investigating the printability of Hanji sized with the mixture of the microbial cellulose and various kinds of sizing agents. Conclusions obtained from the results of this study were as follows. The proper concentration of a microbial cellulose in sizing a printable Hanji with it was 0.5%. In general, there was no remarkable effect but some effect on the opacity and ink density. Hanji was sized with the mixture(5:5) of microbial cellulose(0.5%) and AKD(1.0%). As a result, ink spread was remarkably improved by the girth reduction of ink spot. There was remarkable effect because the mixture(5:5) of a microbial cellulose(0.5%) and CMC(1.0%) improved not only the gloss but also the density and girth of ink spot. Mixing(7:3) with corn starch(3.0%) showed the smallest girth of ink spot among applied sizing agents. Mixing(7:3) with PVA(5.0%) also showed some effect in the density and girth of ink spot.

옻칠의 품등 구분 (I) 전통적인 방법에 의한 옻칠의 품등구분 (Grade Classification of Urushi Lacquer (I) Grade Classification of Urushi Lacquer by Traditional Method)

  • 옻칠은 채취된 산지별, 기후변화별, 채취시기별, 저장 등 각각의 요인에 따라 구성성분이 달라지며, 도료로서의 품등도 달라지는 성질을 가진 천연도료라는 점을 고려할 때 옻칠의 품등 구분은 매우 어렵다. 전통적 방법에 의한 옻칠의 품등구분은 옻칠종사자 10명의 패널에 대한 관능평가에 의해 실시하였다. 옻칠종사자들의 전통적인 옻칠 품등구분 방법의 공통점은 색조, 냄새, 점도, 한지 위 퍼짐성, 유리판 위 색조 및 건조성에 의해 판단하고 있으며, 그 외 한지 위 문지르기, 알코올램프 가열에 의한 감량 조사가 있었다. 패널요원 10인에 의한 5개 항목에 대한 전체평균의 결과, 중국산 생칠(E)이 7.03로서 가장 우수하였고, 그 다음이 일본산 생칠(C) 6.84, 한국산 생칠(A) 6.41, 중국산 생칠(D) 5.27 그리고 한국산 화칠(B) 2.50 순으로 나타났다. 그러나, 각 패널들이 평가한 결과는 한지위 퍼짐성에 의한 품등구분 이외에는 서로 다른 견해를 나타내는 경우가 있어 전통적인 방법만에 의한 품등구분에는 객관성과 공정성이 결여될 소지가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

동양 전통 먹(墨)의 이화학적 성상 비교 분석 (Characterization and Comparison of Oriental Ink Sticks)

  • The writing brush, ink stick, paper, and ink stone were the four precious things of the studying and recording in oriental world until even nowaday. The oriental paper was comparatively well evaluated in many papers and reviews, but it is difficult to find some scientific reports or reviews about the ink stick. In this paper, the scientific aspect of ink sticks of oriental maine three country(Korea, China, Japan) were evaluated by the physical, chemical and microscopic analysis. The result could summarized as fellows; 1. The Korean lampblack ink stick contains more carbon and less nitrogen and the Chinese ink sticks contain less carbon and more oxygen. 2. The Korean lampblack and cowhide glue contain relatively higher amount of sulphur. 3. The particle size distribution of carbon in the ink stick was not change after grinding in the ink stone. 4. The particle size of carbon and the pore size in the charcoal ink sticks of three country were larger than those of the lampblack ink sticks. 5. The ink solution of the charcoal ink sticks shows high roundness on Hanji while the ink solution of the lampblack ink sticks is spread readily to Hanji surface. 6. The change of whiteness in printing of the ink sticks is notable in thermal treatment.
