신선초 분말에 오염시킨 미생물에 대한 감마선과 오존의 살균효과 (Sterilization Effects of $\gamma-ray$ and Ozone on Microoganisms Contaminated in Angelica keiskei Powde)

  • For the purpose of improving hygienic quality of health-foods, sterilization effects of ${\gamma}$-ray and ozone on microoganisms associated with food cultured in the media and contaminated in Angelica keiskei powder were investigated. Ozone was immersed in water and sprayed in air, on the concentration of 3 mg liter-1 at an air flow rate of 5 liter min-3. Test strains cultured in the media completely inhibited by ${\gamma}$-ray at irradiation doses of 0.25~2 kGy. In the case of ozone, test bacteria inactivated after treatment of 10~20 minutes, but test mold, Aspergillus flavus was not effective. Strains contaminated in Angelica keiskei powder completely inhibited by ${\gamma}$-ray at irradiation doses of 2.5~7.5 kGy. However, when the powder was sprayed with ozonized air for 10hours, Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus among five strains were eliminated.

자연환기 온실의 환기회수에 따른 포그냉방시스템의 냉방효과 (The Cooling Effect of Fog Cooling System as Affected by Air Exchange Rate in Natural Ventilation Greenhouse)

  • 포그냉방시스템의 냉방효과는 온실 내부의 상대습도, 공기유동과 밀접한 관계가 있다. 냉방설계용 VETH선도에서 냉발효율은 환기회수의 증가와 그에 상응하는 분무수량의 증가로 인하여 개선될 수 있다. 시간제어방식을 이용한 무차광 실험온실에서 분당 환기회수가 평균 0.77회, 분무수량이 2,009g 일 때 온실 내부의 기온이 31$^{\circ}C$로 외부기온과 거의 같게 나타났으며, 이 때의 증발효율은 82%이다. 분당 환기회수가 평균 0.26회, 분무수량이 1.256g인 경우 무냉방 온실의 기온과 비슷한 37.1$^{\circ}C$였다. 차광율 70%인 실험온실의 분당 환기환수가 평균 2.59회, 분무수량이 2,009g 일 때, 내부의 상대습도는 증가하나 기온은 하강하지 못했다. 그러나 분당 환기회수가 평균 2.33회, 분무수량이 2,009g인 경우 내부의 기온이 31.4$^{\circ}C$로 이 때 온실의 유입구 풍속은 최고 1.9m.s$^{-1}$였다. 시간제어의 경우 일정간격으로 일정한 수량을 분무하기 때문에 분무입자가 모두 증발하지 못하고 온실 내부에 누적되어 온실 내부의 상대습도를 증가시켜 냉방효율을 감소 시키는 원인이 되고 차광망이 온실내부의 공기흐름을 차단하여 증발효율을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 포그냉방시스템의 냉방효율을 높이기 위해서는 온실 내부의 상대습도에 의한 제어방식과 내부 공기의 순환에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

Wear Mechanism of Plasma-Sprayed Coating in Mo- and Co-Based Alloy

  • Wear and friction behavior of plasma-sprayed coatings in Mo- and Co-based alloy were studied for the application of piston-ring automobile engine. The plasma-sprayed coatings were varied with gun current density, gas flow, and distance. The surface roughness, microhardness, and wear volume were measured depending on the spray distances. The high temperature hardness value were also measured as a function of temperature. Ball-on-disc geometry configuration tribometer was utilized in air. The wear tests were performed in the temperature ranges from room temperature to 825$^{\circ}$C to investigate the tribological trend of the piston-ring materials in the lack of lubricant. The cross sections of wear track were investigated, using microscopy.

Creation of Diamond/Molybdenum Composite Coating in Open Air

  • For improvement of wear resistance property of atmospheric thermal plasma sprayed molybdenum (Mo) coating, diamond deposition on the atmospheric plasma sprayed molybdenum coating by the combustion flame chemical vapor deposition (CFCVD) has been operated. In this study, to diminish the thermal damage of the substrate during operation, a thermal insulator was equipped between substrate and water-cooled substrate holder. Consequently, diamond particles could be created on the Mo coating without fracture and peeling off. From these results, it was found that this process had a high potential in order to improve wear resistance of thermal sprayed coating.

  • [ $Ti_{45}Zr_{38}Ni_{17}$ ] powders were thermally sprayed onto mild steel substrates in air and under a reduced pressure of argon. Several oxides were formed after thermally-spraying the mechanically-alloyed powders in air. After spraying in a reduced pressure of argon, the coating layers obtained from the gently mixed powders consisted of the elemental metals, but an amorphous phase primarily appeared in the thermally-sprayed mechanically-alloyed powders, which transformed into the icosahedral quasicrystal phase and a minor $Ti_2Ni-type$ crystal phase after annealing at 828 K. The Vickers hardness and the contact angle with pure water for the quasicrystal layers were about 7 GPa and $92^{\circ}$ respectively.

분사식 FRP공법을 이용한 구조물 보강 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Structure Strengthening Using Sprayed FRP Technique)

  • 분사식 FRP 보강 공법은 섬유(Fiber)와 수지(Resin)를 외부에서 혼합하여 요철이 많은 콘크리트 표면에 고속의 압축 공기로 랜덤하게 분사하여 기존 콘크리트 구조물을 보강하는 공법이다. 새로운 분사식 FRP 공법을 이용하여 구조물의 보강 성능을 평가하였다. 콘크리트 보 실험체에 대한 휨강도 실험을 수행하여 분사식 FRP의 최적물성치를 찾고 이 결과를 이용하여 PSC I형 거더 표준단면을 1/5로 축소한 구조물에 적용하여 실험을 하였다. 손상된 프리스트레스트 콘크리트에 적용한 결과 무보강보에 비하여 휨강도가 49.8% 증가하였고 사용상태의 거동이 개선되었으며, 보강에 의해 처짐 및 균열 제어에 효과적이었다. 결론적으로 분사식 FRP 공법의 보강 적용은 구조물의 성능 향상에 효과적이라고 할 수 있다.

기포를 혼입한 섬유보강 셀룰러 스프레이 콘크리트 공법의 분산성 및 휨인성 평가 (Dispersibility and Flexural Toughness Evaluation of Fiber Reinforcement Cellular Sprayed Concrete by added Foam)

  • 본 논문에서는 방호 방폭 구조물용 스프레이 콘크리트 재료 개발을 위해 기포를 혼입하여 강섬유의 분산성을 향상시킴으로서 강섬유 혼입 고인성 셀룰러 스프레이 콘크리트 재료를 개발하였다. 강섬유의 분산성 향상을 위해 과다하게 투입된 기포는 스프레이를 통해 대부분 소산하여 최종적으로 3 % ~ 6 % 미만의 적정 혼입율을 만족하게 되며, 이 상태에서 압축강도 및 휨인성 특성에 대해 고찰하였다. 압축강도 시험결과 28일 및 56일 강도에서 우수한 강도성능을 나타냈으며, 휨강도 및 휨인성 특성 또한 우수한 성능을 보여 과다하게 투입된 기포는 강섬유의 분산성을 향상 시키지만, 강도저하를 유발하지는 않는 것으로 판단된다. 그러나 화상분석을 통한 공극구조 분석 결과 소요의 간격계수와 비표면적을 얻는데 실패하였으며, 이것은 스프레이에 의한 공기량 소산 효과가 너무 커 간격계수가 다소 크게 측정된 것으로 판단된다.

전자현미경을 이용한 건물내 비고형 표면자재의 석면 오염 및 기중 석면농도 특성조사 (Characterization of Asbestos Content in Friable Sprayed-on Surface Material and Airborne Asbestos Concentrations in Buildings by TEM)

  • Fourteen(14) large commercial buildings located in Seoul with friable sprayed-on surface insulation material on ceiling were investigated for fiber types in bulk material and for airborne fiber concentrations in buildings by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in order to compare the results with those by polarized light microscopy (PLM) and phase contrast microscopy (PCM). The results were as follows: 1. Chrysotile asbestos was found in one bulk sample out of total 14 bulk samples collected. Glass fiber and mineral wool were the two major constituents of the bulk samples. 2. The Na-Mg-Si-Ca-Fe-Al ratios of the EDX spectra which were normalized with the Si peak were 0-1.0-10-8.3-4.0-4.0 in mineral wool and 0-5-10-21-0-0 in chrysotile asbestos, respectively. 3. Airborne fiber concentrations were log-normalcy distributed and the geometric mean (geometric standard deviation) fiber concentrations by TEM in the underground parking lots and inside buildings were 0.0048 f/cc(1.93) and 0.0040 f/cc(2.27), respectively with no statistical difference. In the outdoor ambient air, statistically significantly lower concentration of 0.0018 f/cc(2.04) was measured. 4. The TEM/PCM ratios of airborne fiber concentrations ranged 0.5 - 2.0 for 80 % of airborne samples analyzed, end the regression equation between TEM and PCM was PCM=-0.2724+1.1355(TEM) with the coefficient of determination $R^2=0.52$. The results of this study confirmed that the sprayed-on surface insulation material found in some commercial buildings may possibly be contaminated with asbestos fiber. Since statistically significant relationship of fiber concentrations measured by PCM and TEM inside buildings and ambient air was found, previous results by PCM in ambient air could be used to estimate the ambient fiber concentrations in knowing the ratio of TEM/PCM.

Improvement of the Quality of Dried Wild Vegetables by Micro Oil Sprayed Thermal Air Technique

  • Wild vegetables, such as Cirsium setidens, and Aster scaber, are commonly distributed as dried materials because the wild vegetables lose their freshness quickly after harvest and distribution. Dried wild vegetables require rehydration to use as a food ingredient, and the quality of rehydrated wild vegetables is affected by pre-drying and drying methods. Here, we introduce the newly developed pre-drying and drying method, termed "micro oil sprayed thermal air (MOTA) technique". The three wild vegetables processed by the MOTA technique showed improved rehydration rate and reduced time to achieve maximum rehydration rate. Color characteristics were also improved in C. setidens. These results indicate that the MOTA technique improves the overall quality of rehydrated wild vegetables. It is expected that our findings could enhance the marketability of dried wild vegetables by improving overall quality and reducing preparation time.

$H_2/O_2$ 비에 따른 Hybrid HVOF 용사된 $Cr_3C_2$-7wt%(NiCr) 용사층의 특성 및 산화거동 (Characteristics and oxidation behavior of the hybrid-HVOF sprayed $Cr_3C_2$-7wt%(NiCr) coatings depending on $H_2/O_2$ ratio)

  • $H_2/O_2$ 비에 따른 Hybrid HVOF 용사된 $Cr_3C_2$-7wt%(NiCr) 용사층의 특성 및 산화거동 This study was performed to investigate the influence of fuel/oxygen ratio (F/O=3.2, 3.0, 2.8) on the characteristics and the oxidation behavior of the hybrid-HVOF sprayed $Cr_3C_2$-7wt%NiCr coatings. Decomposition and the oxidation of the $Cr_3C_2$was occured during spraying. The degree of transformation from $Cr_3C_2$to $Cr_7C_3$ was increased with decreasing the F/O ratio. The microstructural differences of the as sprayed coating with F/O ratio can not be distinguished, However, large pores were diminished and then the coatings became dense by heat treatment. Microhardness of the as-sprayed specimen which sprayed with F/O=3.0 condition was hightest ($Hv_{300}$=1140) and the hardness was increased to 1500 after heat treatment at $600^{\circ}C$ for 50hrs in air. It was supposed that hardness was increased due to the formation of $Cr_2O_3$ within $Cr_3C_2$/$Cr_7C_3$matrix and the densification of coating layer during heat treatment. Apparent activation energy for oxidation was varied from 21.2 kcal$mol^{-1}K^{-1}$ to 23.8 kcal$mol^{-1}K^{-1}$ with respect to the F/O ratio. The surface morphology was changed to porous and oxide chusters were grown after oxidation $1000^{\circ}C$ for 50 hours by the aggressive evolution of gas phase ($CrO_3$ and$CO_2$). The oxide cluster was composed of Ni and Cr.
