스폿용접 로봇용 스위블 유닛의 개발 (The Development of Swivel Unit for Spot Welding Robots)

  • A new type of swivel unit is suggested in order to complement weak points of the existing. This new type of Swivel unit is developed by adopting a spring type cable which has elasticity and restoring force. To minimize the troubles in the process of manufacturing during operating the new type system, strength analysis and the check of interference between parts are accomplished with CATIA. The check of rotating performance is also carried out to determine the diameter and length of spring type cable by SimDesigner motion analysis. Swivel unit used in the robot spot welding is developed with spring type cable and its usefulness in the industrial field is verified through experiments. This system has been registered for patent.

  • A robot application system is developed for dual purpose of stud welding and are welding to weld plates in the manufacturing of elevator cabin. The production quantity is not so big to accommodate separate stations for stud welding and are welding respectively while the need for randomization of the processes is urgent. A robot with specification for spot welding is chosen, which is appropriate for stud welding. Some implementations are made so that the robot may also be shared for are welding process. Common jig and fixture is designed for the dual purpose. Important aspects in the procedure of system design, installation, and commissioning are stated, and signal set-ups and logic diagrams are illustrated.

저항 점 용접 로봇에서 서보건의 가압력 제어를 통한 용접 강도 향상에 대한 연구 (A Study for the Improvement of Weld Quality Through Force Control of Servo Gun in Resistance Spot Welding using Robot)

  • Resistance spot welding is widely used for joining sheet metals in the automotive manufacturing process. Recently, servo-gun is used to increase the productivity and precise control the acting force. However, force control mechanisms have not been investigated with servo-guns until now. In this paper, it is proved that servo-motor current is proportional to torque and by experiment, experimental equation between servo-motor current and electrode force was derived. Algorithm for feedback control of electrode force was suggested using current measurement. In addition, applying soft touch method to this system the impact between electrode and specimen, which is the problem of air gun, could be reduced. Indentation made the force decrease in holding time of resistance spot welding. In order to overcome this problem, force compensation using the servo gun was used and it improved weld strength in good welding current range.

  • 산업현장의 열악한 작업중의 하나인 용접작업을 자동화하기 위한 방법으로 본 논문은 비접촉식 센서인 Fiber Sensor를 이용하여 용접선을 1차적으로 추적하고, 추적한 데이터를 텍스트 파일로 저장함과 통시에 2차적으로 추적한 용접선을 X-Y 로봇의 좌표값으로 다시 출력하여 용접을 하도록 하고 있다. Fiber Sensor를 통하여 읽어 들인 데이터는 Delphi Version 3.0을 이용하여 만들어진 프로그램을 통하여 처리하였고, I/O 입출력은 16 채널의 Relay Actuator 출력과 16 채널의 opto-isolated 입력이 가능한 PC의 ISA슬롯에 직접 삽입하여 사용하는 카드를 통해서 이루어졌다. 본 실험에서 용접선 추적은 직선, 기울기를 가진 직선 및 곡선에 관하여 추적을 행하였고, 추적한 데이터를 토대로 인버터 $CO_2$ 용접기를 사용하여 용접을 행하여 보았다.

차체 플러그 용접품질에 영향을 미치는 아크 위치에 대한 실험적 기초 연구 (A Study on the Arc Position which Influence on Quality of Plug Welding in the Vehicle Body)

  • Welding is an essential process in the automotive industry. Most welding processes that are used for auto body is spot welding. And $CO_2$ arc welding is used in a small part. In production field, $CO_2$ arc welding process is decreased and spot welding process is increased due to welding quality is poor and defects are occurred in $CO_2$ arc welding process frequently. But $CO_2$ arc welding process should be used at robot interference parts and closed parts where spot welding couldn't. $CO_2$ welding is divided into lap welding and plug arc spot welding. In case of plug arc spot welding, burn through and under fill were caused in various welding environment such as different thickness combinations of base metal, teaching point, over the two steps welding and inconsistent voltage/current. It makes some problem like poor quality of welding area and decrease the productivity. In this study, we will evaluate the effect of teaching point through the weld pool behavior and bead geometry in the arc spot welding at the plut hole. Welding position is horizontal position. And galvanized steel sheet of 2.0mm thickness that has plug hole of 6mm diameter was used. Teaching point was changed by center, top, bottom, left and right of the plug hole. At each condition, the phenomenon of weld pool behavior was confirmed using a high-speed camera. As the result, we find the center of plug hole is the most optimal teaching point. In the other teaching point, under fill was occurred at the plug hole. This phenomenon is caused by gravity and surface tension. For performance of arc spot welding at the plug hole, the teaching condition should be controlled at a center of plug hole.

  • Because of simple principal and low cost, resistance spot welding has been used a lot for joining the sheet metal in automotive manufacturing process. Welding current, welding time, and force are the most important variables in resistance spot wording. Air guns have hem still used widely. The requirement of synchronizing between robot and weld-gun has become bigger as the field has been automated. The number of servo-gun in the field is trending upward because there're advantages as like to synchronize with robot and to control the stroke path and force by programming on servo-gun system. But no cleared force control method is suggested on servo-gun system until now. In this study, we proved the feedback current of the servo-motor can be used to an excellent force measuring sensor and the force is controlled by the feedback current. And we also detected force lowering during welding cycle on the servo-gun system and solved by compensated force control.

1차 동저항 패턴의 통계적 분석에 의한 저항 점 용접의 용접 품질 예측에 관한 연구 (Weld Quality Assurance Method using Statistical Analysis of Primary Dynamic Resistance During Resistance Spot Welding)

  • In previous studies, the dynamic resistance, which was calculated by the process variables measured at the electrode of the welding machine, and the electrode displacement were used for quality exa mination. However, in-process usage of such systems is not effective in systems that include a welding gun attached to a robot. In order to overcome such problems, we obtained and used the process variables from the welding machine timer. This would allow us to estimate real time in -process weld quality. For quality estimation, the features were extracted as factors from the primary dynamic resistance patterns, which were measured in t he welding machine timer. The relationship between the indexes and nugget size of the welds was observed through the regression analysis. Using the analyzed factors, a regression model that could estimate nugget diameter was developed. Two regression equations of the model were suggested depending on the factors, and it was showed that the model developed by stepwise method was effective one for weld quality estimation. The developed estimation model was in good linearity with the nugget diameter obtained through the experimentation.

자동차 부품의 원격 레이저 용접기술 (Remote Welding of Automobile Components using CO2 Laser and Scanner)

  • The laser welding of the car body and components has been spread in the automotive industry. The Nd:YAG laser welding system could be used in 3D welding with robot. However, this system cannot efficiently reduce the welding cycle time according to various welding sequences because the robot's moving time is same that of the resistant spot welding system. But the remote welding system with high power $CO_2$ laser and scanner makes it possible welding cycle time much faster than the robot laser welding system. In the $CO_2$ laser remote welding system, laser beam can be rapidly transferred to a workpiece by moving mirrors of scanner system. So, it makes reducing the cycle time of welding process and shaping various welding patterns easily. Therefore, in this paper, the characteristic of weld strength according to patterns of weld bead on $CO_2$ laser welding was investigated. Also, the relationship between shape of weld bead and value of tensile load was studied. Finally, the optimum remote welding condition for car bumper was investigated.

  • 자동차제조에 있어서의 용접은 신뢰성 양산과 생력화에 대응하여 접합 조립하는 방법으로 특이한 분야를 형성하여 발전되었다. 예를 들면, 자동차의 생산은 기본적으로 양산체제를 갖추고 있 어서, 일반적으로 노동집약형 산업이라고 불리어지며 그 제조공정을 보면 stamping press 공정과 같이 용접공정도 비교적 장치산업적인 분야로 빠르게 자동화나 성인화 내지 무인화로 진행되고 있다. 자동차용접은 사람이 portable spot welder로 한점씩 용접하지만 양산에 대비한 합리화와 안정화를 위하여 다점용접 (multi spot weld)라는 자동화공법의 도입이 불가피하며 금일의 자 동차생산에 있어서 상식화가 되고 있다. 이것은 한개의 차체라면 차형의 대조 또는 press panel의 수에 따라 차이가 조금 있으나 약 4-5 천점의 점용접이 필요하기 때문에 여러 가지 반송장치와 조합하여 대규모의 line설비로 발전되어 가고 있다. 이와 같이 용접공정의 자동화는 생산성을 높이는 반면에 전용성이 높기 때문에 설계변경에 대한 초기투자의 용접설비 대부분을 갱신하여야 하는 새로운 투자의 필요문제가 증대되었다. 이러한 전용설비에 대한 유연성을 가미한 자동차로 지향되어, 그 한 방법으로 산업용 robot가 도입되었다. 근래에 와서는 자동차제조에 있어서 새 로운 용접기술을 합리적으로 효과있게 적용하는 기술이 금후의 연구과제라 하겠다.
