  • 본 논문에서는 축구 동영상에서 스포츠 중계방송의 특성을 이용하여 자동적으로 하이라이트(Highlight)를 추출하는 새로운 방법을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 그 유용성을 증명한다. 일반적으로 스포츠 중계 방송에서는 중요한 이벤트(골, 반칙)가 발생하면 그 장면 을 다시 느린속도의 리플레이(Replay) 화면으로 보여주고, 리플레이가 시작되고 끝날 때 Wipe와 같은 점진적인 화면 전환 기법을 사용하는 특성을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 스포츠 중계방송의 특징을 이용하여 Wipe검출, Replay검출 및 Zoom-In/Out 전환 검출을 이용하여 전체 축구 동영상에서 하이라이트만을 추출하는 방법을 제안한다.

Influencing Factors of Bone Mineral Density in Men (남성의 골밀도 영향요인)

  • Purpose: Osteoporosis is often considered as a women's disease, but men's osteoporosis is also increasingly recognized as an important public health problem. This study was carried out to identify the important modifiable risk factors for osteoporosis in men. Methods: Two hundred and fourteen men were selected among those who checked bone mineral density by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry in lumbar vertebrae from June to September, 2009 at 3 general hospitals in Busan. Self-administrated questionnaires and BMD results of lumbar vertebrae were used for data. Collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 14.0 program. Results: The sports activity level in 30's, body weight, and fracture history of mother were the most powerful influencing factors on the bone mineral density of lumbar vertebrae. Conclusion: These results highlight the need to participate vigorously in sports activity during 30s as a means of increasing peak bone mass in lumbar vertebrae in order to prevent osteoporosis and fracture in men.

Identification of sports game highlights using live comments data (실시간 댓글 데이터를 이용한 스포츠 경기 하이라이트 식별)

  • In this paper, we propose a procedure for identifying sports game highlights using online live comments. Highlights in sports games can be defined as important events that capture the viewers' attention, often involving scoring. Internet portals and many other platforms may edit game videos and provide highlight scenes. Since reviewing each game and identifying highlights manually can be labor-intensive and time-consuming, statistical learning procedures are beneficial for the automatic identification of highlights. In this paper, we extract words from preprocessed live comments, and divide videos into one-minute intervals to create a document-term matrix summarizing the frequency of word occurrences at each timestamp. Next, employing the log-odds ratios as weights, the weighted sum of the term frequencies at each timestamp is calculated to generate an event score. Then, the nonparametric kernel regression model is applied to event scores to estimate the underlying trend of event scores. The residual for each timestamp is obtained as the difference between underlying trend and the actual event score. Finally, we predict events as those instances whose residuals are widely deviated from the estimated trend levels. Applying this approach to real soccer games, we could predict actual highlights more accurately compared to simply using comment frequencies.

  • Football (soccer) is one of the most popular sports in the world. A huge number of people watch live football matches by TV or Internet. A football match takes 90 minutes, but viewers may only want to watch a few highlights to save their time. As far as we know, there is no such a product that can be put into use to achieve intelligent highlight extraction from live football matches. In this paper, we propose an intelligent editing system for live football matches. Our system can automatically extract a series of highlights, such as goal, shoot, corner kick, red yellow card and the appearance of star players, from the live stream of a football match. Our system has been integrated into live streaming platforms during the 2018 FIFA World Cup and performed fairly well.

  • As the number of videos uploaded on live streaming platforms rapidly increases, the demand for providing highlight videos is increasing to promote viewer experiences. In this paper, we present novel methods for predicting highlights using chat logs and audio data in videos. The proposed models employ bi-directional LSTMs to understand the contextual flow of a video. We also propose to use the features over various time-intervals to understand the mid-to-long term flows. The proposed Our methods are demonstrated on e-Sports and baseball videos collected from personal broadcasting platforms such as Twitch and Kakao TV. The results show that the information from multiple time-intervals is useful in predicting video highlights.

  • 다양한 장르의 비디오 데이터에서 하이라이트를 생성하는 것은 짧게 요약된 하이라이트 비디오 신을 생성하고자 하는 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 제작자나 사용자에게 중요한 역할을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 비디오 하이라이트의 생성 방법과 내용 기반, 즉 이벤트 기반의 비디오 인덱싱 방법을 제시한다. 경기 종목으로는 골을 넣어 득점하는 축구, 농구 그리고 핸드볼을 대상으로 하였으며 골을 넣어 득점하는 하이라이트 샷을 추출하기 위해 이벤트 규칙을 사용하였다. 비디오 인덱싱에서는 비디오 데이터 자체의 시각적 정보와 캡션 정보를 모두 이용하였다.

  • Sports game broadcasting system uses multiple video cameras in order to offer exciting and dynamic scenes for the TV audiences. Since, however, the traditional broadcasting system edits the multiple views into a static video stream, it is difficult to provide the intelligent broadcasting service that summarizes or retrieves specific scenes or events based on the user preference. In this paper, we propose the summarization and retrieval system for the soccer videos based on multiple cameras. It extracts the highlights such as shot on goal, crossing, foul, and set piece using dynamic Bayesian network based on soccer players' primitive behaviors annotated on videos, and selects a proper view for each highlight according to its type. The proposed system, therefore, offers users the highlight summarization or preferred view selection, and can provide personalized broadcasting services by considering the user's preference.

  • Traditional market for arcade game is downsized due to limited offline services. This paper suggests O2O service which is a combination of NFC technology and traditional arcade game. O2O service available by installing NFC tag in the gaming machines and operating by smartphone. This allows convenient payment service along with continuity of gameplay. Furthermore applying ranking, statistics and replays will vitalize communities such as fan clubs and highlight local rankers into popular gaming stars. Offline gallery can be expanded to online via O2O service. Local stars and online gallery will lead arcade gaming platform to E sports. This paper covers servers and applications regarding O2O service in addition to their functions and expected outcome.

  • Purpose: Although numerous research has covered content on trends in the adoption and use of wearable devices, their uses across several sectors such as healthcare, gaming, and fashion, there seems to be a considerable paucity with regard to empirical research focusing on the solutions for factors that undermine the effectiveness of wearable devices in healthcare. The present research aims to highlight what has been covered on wearable devices in healthcare while highlighting the limitations for future research. Research design, data, and methodology -The present authors conducted one of the most famous qualitative literature approach which has been called as PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) statement. The selecting criteria for eligible prior studies was estimated by whether studies are suitable for the current research, identifying they are peer-reviewed and issued by notable publishers between 2017 and 2022. Result - Our results indicated that (1) Increasing the Affordability and User Education on Wearable Devices in Healthcare (2) Tackling the Technological Issues in Wearable Devices to Promote Healthcare Delivery (3) Solving Security and Privacy Issues Associated with Wearable Devices (4) Promoting Standards and Appropriate Regulations for Wearable Devices. Conclusion - To add, resolving the technological issues associated with wearable devices in healthcare will ensure that the new devices in the market will have longer battery life, multiple functions, and enhanced accuracy, thus ensuring that patients receive better care. Necessary interventions are taken on time to avoid any deleterious consequences such as proliferating mortality rates among the different patient groups.

  • A digital video is a very long data that requires large-capacity storage space. As such, prior to watching a long original video, video watchers want to watch a summarized version of the video. In the field of sports, in particular, highlights videos are frequently watched. In short, a highlights video allows a video watcher to determine whether the highlights video is well worth watching. This paper proposes a scheme for creating soccer video highlights using the structural features of captions in terms of time and space. Such structural features are used to extract caption frame intervals and caption keyframes. A highlights video is created through resetting shots for caption keyframes, by means of logical indexing, and through the use of the rule for creating highlights. Finally, highlights videos and video segments can be searched and browsed in a way that allows the video watcher to select his/her desired items from the browser.
