By the use of multi-loop thermodynamic boxes developed here by us, we show that models of enzyme catalysis (e.g., split-site model) developed in an attempt to emphasize the importance of the reactant-state destabilization and, thus, demonstrate misleading nature of the fundamentalist position which defines Pauling's transition-state stabilization as the entire and sole source of enzyme catalytic power, should be reduced to the fundamentalist formulation which completely neglects dynamical aspects of mechanism between the reactant and the transition states and dwells only on events restricted to the reactant and transition states alone, because the splitsite (and other canonical) formulations as well as fundamentalist formulations are based, in common, on equilibrium assumptions stipulated by the thermodynamic box logics. We propose to define the equilibrium assumptions as the requisite and sufficient conditions for the fundamentalist position to enjoy its primacy as central dogma, but not as sufficient conditions for its validity, because it is subjected to contradictions presented by existing data.
This paper introduces a new split-TCP approach for improving TCP performance over IEEE 802.11-based wireless LANs. TCP over wireless LANs differently from wired networks is not aggressive, which is a fundamental reason for poor performance. Therefore, we propose TAS (TCP-Aware Sub-layer) to migigate this problem. Our scheme extends the split-connection approach that divides a connection into two different connections at a split point such as an access point (AP). Using TAS, a wireless node emulates TCP ACK packets using MAC ACK frames, instead of receiving real TCP ACK packets. We compared TAS with both normal TCP and I-TCP (Indirect TCP) by NS2 simulation. Results show that TAS achieves higher throughput, more fair resource allocation and, in power-saving mode, shorter delays.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the postoperative anteroposterior stability and improvements in facial asymmetry after performing LeFort I osteotomy in the maxilla, sagittal split ramus osteotomy (SSRO) and intraoral vertical ramus osteotomy (IVRO) in the mandible, and lateral corticectomy on the IVRO side. Materials and Methods: From July 2009 to October 2018, a retrospective analysis was performed on 11 subjects. Lateral cephalometric radiograph was performed preoperatively (T0), postoperatively (T1), and at 12 months of follow-up (T2), and the B point distance was measured. Posteroanterior cephalometric radiograph was performed preoperatively (S0) and at 12 months of follow-up (S1) and was used to measure five indicators (Ag angle, M-Ag, Co-Ag, Co-Me, and Ag-Me) of facial asymmetry. Results: The B point distances for T0 and T1 were significantly different (P=0.007), whereas those for T1 and T2 were not significantly different (P=0.1). In addition, there was a significant difference between the B point distances of T2 and T0 (P=0.026). Comparison of the facial asymmetry indicators before and after surgery showed a significant difference for all indicators between S0 and S1: the P-values of Ag angle, M-Ag, Co-Ag, Co-Me, and Ag-Me were 0.003, 0.003, 0.008, 0.006, and 0.004, respectively. The Z value was based on negative ranks. Conclusion: There was no significant difference in the B point distances from postoperation to the 12-month follow-up. However, there were significant differences in all five indicators related to facial asymmetry before and after surgery. The values for the five indicators of facial asymmetry all increased postoperatively.
This study was undertaken to investigate histological changes according to the radiosensitivity in the spermatogenic cells in Korean native pheasants. During spermatogenetic period, testes wete collected from male adult Korean native pheasant and they were used as experimental and control birds. The experimental group was divided into a single-dose whole body irradiation group(400, 600, 800 and 1000 rads) and a split-dose whole body irradiation groups(400/2, 600/2, 800/2 and 1000/2 rads). A Henseky's $^{60}Co$${\gamma}$-radiotherapy machine was used for this experiment and the dose rate of $^{60}Co$${\gamma}$-ray was 104 rads/min. The experimental birds were sacrificed at 24 and 72 hrs after irradiation and the control pheasants were sacrificed at the same time. General histological changes of seminiferous epithelial cells were observed by hematoxylin-eosin stain with light microscope. The results obtained are summarized as follows ; 1. In the single-dose and the split-dose irradiation groups, the average diameter of the seminiferous tubule was decreased compared with control group. 2. Seminiferous epithelial cells were more severely damaged after 72 hrs than after 24 hrs of single-dose irradiation of 400, 600 and 800 rads but the difference of cell injury was almost not observable with the elapsed time in the group of the single-dose irradiation of 1000 rads. 3. The damage of spermatogenic cells were more severe after 24 hrs than after 72 hrs of the split-dose irradiation of 400 rads but the split-dose irradiation of 600, 800 and 1000 rads were more severe after 72 hrs than after 24 hrs.

DVB-S2 offers various coding rate and modulation schemes. Therefore this paper proposes bit split methods to applying to multilevel modulation. Log-likelihood ratio method splits multilevel symbols to soft decision symbols using the received in-phase and quadrature component based on Gaussian approximation. However it is too complicate to calculate and to implement hardware due to exponential and logarithm calculation. Therefore this paper presents Euclidean, MAX and Sector method to reduce the high complexity of LLR method.
Induction of morphological deformities in Chironomus riparius larvae was assessed after exposure to 0.3, 1, 10 and 30 ${\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ potential endocrine disruption chemicals, Diethylhexyl phtalate (DEHP). We observed and subdivide types of mentum deformities and counted the incidence of mentum deformities. The mortality was not increased according to concentrations of DEHP, while was depend on the exposed days. The incidence of mentum deformities for MLT (median lateral teeth), LT (lateral teeth), and MIX (MLT+LT) of the mentum morphological structure showed MLT (2.8$\sim$11.4%)>LT (2.8$\sim$2.9%)>MIX (2.8$\sim$3.0%). The type of mentum deformities on C. riparius was classified six groups following exposure to DEHP. The incidence rate was occupied following to tooth addition (4.3%), tooth split (2.8%), tooth deletion (2.4%), tooth fusion (1.4%), $K"{o}hn$ gap (0.5%) and abnormal shape (0.5%). Especially tooth split and tooth fusion were observed in DEHP treated conditions.

Objectives: This study evaluated a range of fixation methods to determine which is best for the postoperative stabilization of a mandibular osteotomy using three-dimensional finite element analysis of the stress distribution on the plate, screw and surrounding bone and displacement of the lower incisors. Materials and Methods: The model was generated using the synthetic skull scan data, and the surface model was changed to a solid model using software. Bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy was performed using the program, and 8 different types of fixation methods were evaluated. A vertical load of 10 N was applied to the occlusal surface of the first molar. Results: In the case of bicortical screws, von-Mises stress on the screws and screw hole and deflection of the lower central incisor were minimal in type 2 (inverted L pattern with 3 bicortical repositioning screws). In the case of plates, von-Mises stress was minimal in type 8 (fixation 5 mm above the inferior border of the mandible with 1 metal plate and 4 monocortical screws), and deflection of the lower central incisor was minimal in types 6 (fixation 5 mm below the superior border of the mandible with 1 metal plate and 4 monocortical screws) and 7 (fixation 12 mm below the superior border of the mandible with 1 metal plate and 4 monocortical screws). Conclusion: Types 2 and 6 fixation methods provide better stability than the others.
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to test the validity and reliability of FACES III when applied to the only one and two family members, and to use more appropriately in the nursing practice. Method: Data were collected from 105 college students and 105 of their parents in two local nursing colleges. The original questionnaire, which was originally developed by Olson(1989), was modified by based on literature review and analyzed by correlation coefficient, Cronbach's α, Guttmans split coefficients and factor analysis. Result: Cronbach's αof the adaptability and cohesion were .77, .73(Guttmans split coefficient were .76, .71) when applied to the only one family member, and were .81, .77 (Guttmans split coefficient were .81, .77) when applied to two. The Pearson's correlation coefficient of the adaptability and cohesion between two family members were .38, .35. The total-item correlations of the other items except for items 5, 7, 13 were significant. The correlation coefficients between adaptability and cohesion when applied to only one and two were .30, .38(p < .01). When the data was analyzed by principle component analysis and Varimax rotation with the number of factors fixed to two, two factors explained 37.2% of total variance in the case of one member, and 42.2% of total variance in two. Conclusion: These results suggested that the concept and the construction validity of cohesion needed to be more clarified. Also It is required that the reliability and validity of FACES III should be tested in two more family members.
In this study, finite element analyses were performed by applying a stress ring and split die design to relieve the tensile stress acting on the die due to high surface pressure during warm-closed forging. The applied material was a yield-ratio-control-steel (YRCS). It was used without quenching or tempering after forging. In the case of stress rings design, the number of stress rings and the tolerance for shrink fit were different. Vertical and horizontal splits were applied for insert die split design. Case 5 die with three stress rings, 0.2 % shrink fit tolerance, and vertical split was selected as an effective die design for tensile stress reduction. Based on die stress reduction analyses, Case 5 die for warm-closed forging was produced and smooth forgeability was secured, making it possible to manufacture forging product of yoke with the required geometry. In addition, controlled cooling using warm forging heat was applied to secure mechanical properties of yokes. When oil cooling was used for direct controlled cooling after warm-closed forging, a relatively uniform Rockwell hardness distribution and high mechanical properties could be obtained.
