혼합모델 조립라인의 생산순서 결정을 위한 유전알고리듬 (Genetic Algorithms for Mixed Model Assembly Line Sequencing)

  • This paper considers the genetic algorithms(GAs) for the mixed model assembly line sequencing(MMALS) in which the objective is to minimize the overall line length. To apply the GAs to the MMALS, the representation, selection, genetic sequencing operators, and genetic parameters are studied. Especially, the existing sequencing binary operators such as partially map crossover(PMX), cycle crossover(CX), and order crossover (OX) are modified to be suitable for the MMALS, and a new sequencing binary operator called immediate successor relationship crossover (ISR) is introduced. These binary operators mentioned above and/or unary operators such as swap, insertion, inversion, displacement, and splice are compared to find operators which work well in the MMALS. Experimental results indicate that 1) among the binary operators ISR operator is the best, followed by the modified OX, and the modified PMX, with the modified CX being the worst, 2) among the unary operators inversion operator is the best, followed by displacement, swap, and insertion, with splice being the worst, and 3) in general, the unary operators perform better than the binary operators for the MMALS.

  • This study is performed to investigate the behavior of multi-column piers and to evaluate the seismic performance. In this study, 3 types of scale model piers with 2-column are designed and tested by quasi-static load in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Each type of model consisting of 2 specimens has different reinforcement details in the lap splice of longitudinal bars and amount of transverse reinforcements. This paper reports that relatively large amount of ductility can be achieved by providing sufficient lap-splice length and transverse reinforcements with end hook even if longitudinal bars are lap spliced in the base of pier. But because multi-column piers have small longitudinal stiffness, careful consideration is needed in case of multi-span continuous bridges.

  • 초고강도 콘크리트의 적용확대로 새로운 철근 압축이음길이 설계식의 개발 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는, 현행 콘크리트구조설계기준의 인장 이음길이와 갈고리 정착길이 설계식과 같은 형태를 활용하여, 사용이 편리한 압축이음길이 설계식을 회귀분석을 통해 제안하였다.

인장철근의 겹침이음에서 횡보강근의 효과에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Effects Transverse Reinforcement in Lap-Spliced Tension Reinforcing Bars)

  • In this study, an experimental work is conducted to evaluate the bond performance between reinforcing bars and surrounding concrete in a lapped splice. The major variable of this test is a transverse reinforcement in lap-spliced tension reinforcing bars. The test results indicate that the bond strength per unit splice length increases with an increase in the transverse reinforcement factor $K_{\alpha}$. The specimens taken less than (c+$K_{tr}$)/$d_b$=3.0 tend to be very brittle at failure. But the specimens taken longer than (c+$K_{tr}$)/$d_b$=3.0 tend to be somewhat ductile at failure.

  • In this study, new moment-resisting precast concrete beam-column joint is proposed for moderate seismic regions. It has the connection reinforcing bars, penetrated the joint and lap-spliced with the bottom bars of precast U-beam. To evaluate the performance for noncontact lapped splice, analytical works were conducted. Major variables for FEM analysis are the length of lap, the diameter of connection reinforcing bars, and the distance between lapped bars. The results of this study show thar the these variables has much influence on strength and deformation of lapped joint.

Comparison of code provisions on lap splices

  • The code provisions on lap splices are critically assessed in the light of 203 beams without transverse reinforcement and 278 beams with transverse reinforcement. For comparison, the provisions given in the ACI 318, Eurocode 2, and TS 500 Codes are considered. The ACI Committee 408 recommended provision and a new proposal are also taken into account throughout the assessment. The comparison with real beam tests where the splice region was subjected to constant moment indicates that current provisions in the Codes do not agree acceptably with test results. The steel stress prediction graphs calculated by means of the Code provisions show high scatter and remain unsafe especially for test data without transverse reinforcement. Both the recent recommended provision by ACI Committee 408 and a new design expression proposed by the author have much less scatter with fewer unsafe predictions. The simplified design provision proposed by ACI Committee 408 does not yield similar results to that of the advanced design provision proposed by the same committee and therefore it could conveniently be replaced with the simpler equation proposed by the author.

Behavior of tension lap spliced sustainable concrete flexural members

  • The use of spliced reinforcing bars in sustainable concrete members to manage inadequate bars length is a common practical issue which is may be due to some limitations. The lap splicing means two bars overlapped in parallel with specified length called the splice length in order to provide the required bond between the two bars. The bond between sustainable concrete and spliced steel bars is another important issue. The normal strength sustainable concrete specimens of sizes 1700×150×150 mm with tension reinforcement lap spliced were selected according to testing device length limitations. These members were designed to fail in flexure in order to investigate the lap spliced tension bars effect. The selected lap spliced tension bars were of 10 mm size with smooth and deformed surfaces in order to investigate the surface nature accompanied with the splice nature. The sustainable concrete mechanical properties and mix workability were also studied. This study reveals that the effect of number of spliced bars on the response of beams reinforced with smooth bars is found to be more obvious than deformed one. Finite element modeling in three dimensions was carried out for the tested beams using ABAQUS software. A parametric study is carried out using finite elements on considering the following parameters, concrete compressive strength, load type and opening in cross section (hollow section) for weight reduction purposes.The laboratory and numerical results show good agreements in terms of ultimate load and deflection with an average difference of 10% and 15% in ultimate load and deflection respectively.

고강도 강섬유보강콘크리트를 적용한 프리캐스트 바닥판 이음부의 구조성능 평가 (Evaluation on Structural Performance of Precast Bridge Deck Joint using HSFRC)

  • 프리캐스트 바닥판 공법은 바닥판간 이음부가 존재하며, 이음부의 연결성능에 따라 전체 교량 구조물의 성능이 좌우되므로 이음부의 연결성능 확보가 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 고강도 강섬유보강콘크리트(High Strength Fiber Reinforced Concrete, HSFRC)가 적용된 비대칭 요철형 이음단면을 갖는 연결형식을 제안하였으며, 이음부의 단면형태, 철근 겹침이음길이 및 겹침이음 형식에 따른 구조실험을 수행하여 제안된 연결형식의 휨 성능을 평가하였다. 실험결과, 이음부 상세에 관계없이 이음철근은 항복변형률 수준의 인장변형을 나타내었으며, 제안된 연결형식은 충분한 휨 저항성능을 확보하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 실험결과는, 현행 도로교설계기준의 최소 겹침이음길이에 대한 규정은 이음부 채움재로 HSFRC를 적용한 프리캐스트 바닥판 이음부에서는 보수적인 규정임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 이음부 채움재로 HSFRC를 사용함에 의해 철근 겹침이음 상세의 단순화 및 이음부 폭의 감소가 가능하며, 제안된 연결형식은 프리캐스트 바닥판 이음부에 효과적으로 적용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

반복하중이 작용하는 고강도 모르타르 충전식 슬리브 철근이음에 대한 강성 평가 (Evaluation on Stiffness of High-strength Mortar-filled Sleeve Bar Splice Under Cyclic Loading)

  • 본 논문에서는 반복하중이 작용하는 고강도 모르타르 충전식 슬리브 철근이음의 강성에 대한 합리적인 검토를 하기 위하여 100여개 고강도 모르타르 충전식 슬리브 철근이음의 실험데이터를 이용하여 슬리브 철근이음이 보유하고 있는 구조인자가 반복 하중이 작용하는 슬리브 철근이음의 강성에 미치는 효과를 파악하였고, AIJ 규준에 정해져 있는 강성 등급을 충족시키는 최소한 의 조건에 대하여 평가한 결과, SD350과 SD400 철근을 매입한 모르타르 충전식 주물 슬리브 철근이음에서 $f_{g^*}$(L/d)가 470MPa 이상이 된다면 AIJ 규준의 SA급 강성, $f_{g^*}$(L/d)가 340MPa 이상이 된다면 AIJ 규준의 A급 강성을 최종파괴형식과 슬리브 형상에 상관없이 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 SD500 철근을 매입한 모르타르 충전식 슬리브 철근이음에서 주물슬리브와 강관 슬리브를 사용한 경우는 $f_{g^*}$(L/d)가 400MPa 이상이 된다면 AIJ 규준의 A급 강성을 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The objective of this study is to assess seismic damage potential and evaluate structural performance of columns in concrete moment frames. For this purpose the results of 3 former studies are compared. Experimental variables considered in these studies are lap-splice of longitudinal reinforcement, axial load level, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, etc. The columns in 1st story of the building are considered in these studies since the columns in 1st story shall resist largest axial force during an earthquake. Based on test results strength, ductility capacities as well as plastic hinge length are compared and discussed.
