The Compact Airborne Imaging Spectrometer System (CAISS) was jointly designed and developed as the hyperspectral imaging system by Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and ELOP inc., Israel. The primary mission of the CAISS is to acquire and provide full contiguous spectral information with high quality spectral and high spatial resolution for advanced applications in the field of remote sensing. The CAISS consists of six physical units; the camera system, the gyro-stabilized mount, the jig, the GPS/INS, the power inverter and distributor, and the operating system. These subsystems shall be tested and verified in the laboratory before the flight. Especially the camera system of the CAISS shall be calibrated and validated with the calibration equipments such as the integrated sphere and spectral lamps. To improve data quality and availability, it is the most important to understand the mechanism of hyperspectral imaging system and the radiometric and spectral characteristics. This paper presents the major characteristics of camera system on the CAISS and summarizes the results of radiometric and spectral experiment during preliminary system verification.
In recent years, the hyperspectral instruments with high spatial and high spectral resolution have become an important component of wide variety of earth science applications. The primary mission of the proposed Compact Airborne Imaging Spectrometer System (CAISS) in this study is to acquire and provide full contiguous spectral information with high quality spectral and spatial resolution for advanced applications in the field of remote sensing. The CAISS will also be used as the vicarious calibration equipment for the cross-calibration of satellite image data. The CAISS consists of six physical units: the camera system, the Jig, the GPS/INS, the gyro-stabilized mount, the operating system, and the power inverter and distributor. Additionally, the calibration instruments such as the integrated sphere and spectral lamps are also prepared for the radiometric and spectral calibration of the CAISS. The CAISS will provide high quality calibrated image data that can support evaluation of satellite application products. This paper summarizes the design, development and major characteristic of the CAISS.

Because Image on the CRT change under different illuminants, human is difficult to see original color of object. If what is information of used illuminant on capturing object know, image can be transformed according to viewing condition using the linear matrix method. To know information of used illuminant at an image, the spectral radiance of illuminant can be estimated using the linear model of Maloney and Wandell form an image. And then image can be properly transformed it using color appearance model. In this paper, we predict the spectral radiance of illuminant using spectral power distribution of specular light and using surface spectral reflectance at maximum gray area. and then we perform visual experiments for the corresponding color reproduction according to viewing condition. In results, we ensure that the spectral radiance of illuminant at an image can be well estimated using above algorithms and that human visual system is 70% adapted to the monitor's white point and 30% to ambient light when viewing softcopy images.
In this paper we give some conditions under which the Weyl spectrum of an operator satisfies the spectral mapping theorem for analytic functions. Also we show that Weyl's theorem holds for p(T) where T is an operator of M-power class (N) and p is a polynomial on a neighborhood of $\sigam(T)$. Finally we answer an old question of Oberai.
In this paper, a new power spectral estimation technique is presented. At first, by transforming the original data with the Karhunen-Loeve Transform(KLT), we can reduce the amount of the redundant information. Next, by modeling the transformed data by means of the autoregressive(AR) model and then applying the least-squares parameter estimation algorithm to this model, even more accurate spectrum estimates can be obtained. The KLT is the optimum transform for signal representation with respect to the mean-square error criterion. And the least-squares method is used to overcome the inherent shortcomings of popular burg algorithm.
PURPOSE. This pilot study was to find the influence of complete denture on the brain activity and cognitive function of edentulous patients measured through Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The study recruited 20 patients aged from 50 to 60 years requiring complete dentures with inclusion and exclusion criteria. The brain function and cognitive function were analyzed with a mental state questionnaire and a 15-minute analysis of power spectral density of EEG alpha waves. The analysis included edentulous phase and post denture insertion adaptive phase, each done before and after chewing. The results obtained were statistically evaluated. RESULTS. Power Spectral Density (PSD) values increased from edentulous phase to post denture insertion adaption phase. The data were grouped as edentulous phase before chewing (EEG p1-0.0064), edentulous phase after chewing (EEG p2-0.0073), post denture insertion adaptive phase before chewing (EEG p3-0.0077), and post denture insertion adaptive phase after chewing (EEG p4-0.0096). The acquired values were statistically analyzed using paired t-test, which showed statistically significant results (P<.05). CONCLUSION. This pilot study showed functional improvement in brain function of edentulous patients with complete dentures rehabilitation.
A novel power amplifier for a polar transmitter is proposed to achieve better spectral performance for a wideband envelope signal. In the proposed scheme, 2-bit sigma-delta (${\Sigma}{\Delta}$) modulation of the envelope signal is introduced, and the power amplifier configuration is modified in a binary form to accommodate the 2-bit digitized envelope signals. The 2-bit ${\Sigma}{\Delta}$ modulator lowers the noise of the envelope signal by fine quantization and thus enhances the spectral property of the RF signal. The Ptolemy simulation results of the proposed structure show that the spectral noise is reduced by 10 dB in a full transmit band of the EDGE system. The dynamic range is also enhanced. Since the performance is improved without increasing the over-sampling ratio, this technique is best suited for wireless communication with high data rates.
The purpose of this study was to compare differences in endurance time and EMG power spectral characteristics of the masticatory muscles during sustained isometric contraction between patients and controls. 15 CMD patients{8 women and 7 men, aged 15 to 38 years(24.1$\pm$7.5)}, and 15 healthy volunteers{8 women and 7 men, aged 15 to 30 years(24.7$\pm$3.4)} without past history or present symptoms of CMD were included in this study. Sustained isometric contractions of masticatory muscles were perfomeed as long as possible at 50% level of maximum voluntary contraction(MVC) of EMG activity via visual feedback, and the duration of sustained isometric contraction(endurance time) was examined. The author perfomed EMG power spectral analysis in the myoelectric signals of masseter and anterior temporal muscle during sustained isometric contraction in CMD patients with chronic muscle pain and healthy controls. The author came to following conclusions from the results. 1. The endurance time of the patient group was shorter than the control group in sustained isometric contraction of masticatory muscles(p<0.01). 2. MF values of masticatory muscles with sustained isometric contraction during endurance time were decreased following regression line in both groups(p<0.01, r>0.9). 3. The amount of MF shift to lower frequency range exhibited no significant differences between the patients and the control group in sustained isometric contraction during endurance time. 4. SMF to lower frequency range of the patient group was steeper than the control group in sustained isometric contraction during endurance time(p<0.05).
In this paper the power spectrum of background EEG is estimated by the LMS PHD based on least mean square. At the power spectrum estimatiom, the stocastic process of background EEG is assumed to consist of the nonharmonic sinusoid and the white noise. In the LMS PHD the model parameters are obtained by the least mean square at optimal order which is obtained from the fact that the eigenvalue's fluctuation of autocorrelation matrix of the normal back-ground EEG is smaller at some order than at other order when the power spectrum of background EEG is esitmated by PHD. The optimal order of this model is the 6-th order when the eigenvalue's fluctuation of autocorrelation matrix of background EEG is considered. The estimation results are with compared the results from the Maximum Entropy Spectral Estimation and Pisarenko Harmonic Decomposition. From the comparison results. The LMS PHD is possible to estimate the power spectrum of background EEG.

Coexistence analysis is extremely important in examining the possibility for spectrum sharing between orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based international mobile telecommunications (IMT)-Advanced and other wireless services. In this letter, a new closed form method is derived based on power spectral density analysis in order to analyze the coexistence of OFDM-based IMT-Advanced systems and broadcasting frequency modulation (FM) systems. The proposed method evaluates more exact interference power of IMT-Advanced systems in FM broadcasting systems than the advanced minimum coupling loss (A-MCL) method. Numerical results show that the interference power is 1.3 dB and 3 dB less than that obtained using the A-MCL method at cochannel and adjacent channel, respectively. This reduces the minimum separation distance between the two systems, which eventually saves spectrum resources.
