  • An off-axis four-mirror-anastigmatic telescope is presented here which is composed of two aspheric surfaces and two spherical surfaces. The entrance pupil diameter is 290 mm and the stop is located at the primary mirror. The effective focal length is 900 mm. The strip field of view for the telescope is $15^{\circ}{\times}0.2^{\circ}$ and if the telescope is launched into an orbit about 400 km altitude, the observed range width will be more than 105 km within a scene without any other auxiliary scanning instrument. The spectral range can be as wide as from visual wave band to infrared wave band in the mirror system. This telescope can be used for environmental monitoring with different detectors whose pixel is adapted to the optical resolution. In this paper, the spectral range is chosen as 3.0 -5.0 ${\mu}m$, and center distance of the pixel is 30 ${\mu}m$. And the image quality is near the diffraction limit.

  • This paper shows the desist concept of an ATS(Antenna Tracking Software) to control the movement of the MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) antenna. The MSC has a two-axes directional X-band antenna for image transmission to KGS(KOMSAT2 Ground Station). The main objective of the ATS is to drive the APM(Antenna Pointing Mechanism) to the required elevation and the azimuth position according to an appropriate TPF(Tracking Parameter File). The ATS is implemented as one task of the SBC(Single Board Computer) software, which uses VxWorks as a real time OS. The ATS has several operational modes such as STANDBY mode, First EL mode, First AZ mode, Normal Operation mode, and so on. The ATS uses two PI controllers fur the velocity and the position loop respectively, to satisfy the requirements specification. In order to show the feasibility of the described design concept, the various simulations and the experiments are performed under specific test configuration.

  • A spectrally encapsulated (SE) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) precoding scheme for wireless short packet transmission, which can suppress the out-of-band emission (OoBE) while maintaining the advantage of the cyclic prefix (CP)-OFDM, is proposed. The SE-OFDM symbol consists of a prefix, an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) symbol, and a suffix generated by the head, center, and tail matrices, respectively. The prefix and suffix play the roles of a guard interval and suppress the OoBE, and the IFFT symbol has the same size as the discrete Fourier transform symbol in the CP-OFDM symbol and serves as an information field. Specifically, as the center matrix generating the IFFT symbol is orthogonal, data and pilot symbols can be allocated to any subcarrier without distinction. Even if the proposed precoder is required to generate OFDM symbols with spectral efficiency in the transmitter, a corresponding decoder is not required in the receiver. The proposed scheme is compared with CP-OFDM in terms of spectrum, OoBE, and bit-error rate.

  • Halide perovskites are emerging materials for next-generation display applications, thanks to their narrow emission linewidth and band gap tunability, capable of covering the entire range of visible light. Despite their short period of research, perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have shown rapid progress in device external quantum efficiency (EQE) in the near-infrared (NIR), red, and green emission wavelengths, and the record EQE has exceeded over 20 %. However there has been limited progress with blue emission compared to the red and green counterparts. In this review, the current status and challenges of blue PeLEDs are introduced, and strategies to produce spectrally stable blue PeLEDs are discussed. The strategies include 1) a mixed halide system in the form of 3-dimensional (3D) perovskites, 2) colloidal perovskite nanocrystals and 3) low dimensional perovskites, known as quasi-2D perovskites. In the mixed halide system, previous reports based on the compositional engineering of 3D perovskites to reduce spectral instability (i.e., halide segregation) will be discussed. Since spectral instability issue originate from the mixed halide composition in perovskites, the two other strategies are based on enlarging the band gap with a single halide composition. Finally, the prospects for each strategy are discussed, for further improvement in spectrally stable blue PeLEDs.

  • In North Korea, forests were intensively degraded by forest land reclamation for food production and firewood collection since the mid-1970s. These degraded forests have to be certainly recovered for economic support, environmental protection and disaster prevention. In order to provide detailed land cover information of forest recovery project (A/R CDM), this study was focused to develop an improved classification method for degraded forest using 2.5m SPOT-5 pan-sharpened image. The degraded forest of North Korea shows various different types of texture. This study used GLCM texture bands of segmented image with spectral bands during forest cover classification. When scale factor 40/shape factor 0.3 was used as a parameter set to generate segment image, segment image was generated on suitable segment scale that could classify types of degraded forest. Forest land cover types were classified with an optimum band combination of Band1, Band2, band3, GLCM dissimilarity (band2), GLCM homogeneity (band2) and GLCM standard deviation (band3). Segment-based classification method using spectral bands and texture bands reached an 80.4% overall accuracy, but the method using only spectral bands yielded an 70.3% overall accuracy. As using spectral and texture bands, a classification accuracy of stocked forest and unstocked forest showed an increase of 23~25%. In this research, SPOT-5 pan-sharpened high-resolution satellite image could provide a very useful information for classifying the forest cover of North Korea in which field data collection was not available for ground truth data and verification directly. And segment-based classification method using texture information improved classification accuracy of degraded forest.

  • Because of superior division among sub-channels, DWT MC-CDMA is less interference with neighborhood channel. In our newly proposed multi-carrier CDMA data transmission method, lIR CMFB filter banks sharply divide sub-bands and reduces spectral overlaps among neighboring sub-channels. In experiment result, proposed filter is better ability of sub-band division than FIR filter. Since the proposed cosine modulated filter banks lIR filter having wavelet property is designed to response sharp transition band, the ISI and ICI between neighboring sub-channels can be effectively reduced. And robustness about narrow band interference of CMFB IIR MC-CDMA almost same FIR DWT MC-CDMA.

  • This paper. we investigate the OFDM-based wireless LAN systems operating in the 60 GHz frequency band as part of the fourth-generation (4G) systems. The 60 GHz band is of much interest since this is the band in which a massive amount of spectral space (5 GHz) has been allocated worldwide for dense wireless local communications. This paper gives an overview of 60 GHz indoor wireless channel characteristics and an effect on phase noise. The performance of OFDM system is severely degraded by the local oscillator phase noise, which causes both common phase error and inter-carrier interference. We provide the exact analysis of the phase noise effect on the OFDM system.

  • KRISS-V, a V-band millimeter-wave source module for a primary RF power standard and calibration system developed by the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science is here presented. The output power of KRISS-V is several times higher than that of commercial amplifier/multiplier chains and is highly stable (the standard deviations of output power are less than 0.01% in the worst case). The spectral purity of KRISS-V is high enough to consider it a single-tone signal generator. We also added programmable attenuation capability to KRISS-V for remote power control. Moreover, the in-house source module is cost-effective and adaptable to various measurement schemes. The structure of the model as well as detailed component information are introduced so that it can be reproduced.

  • Photonic crystals containing multiple rugate structure are prepared by electrochemical etchings. Typically etched rugate PSi prepared in this study. Etching is carried out in a Teflon cell by using a two-electrode configuration with a Pt mesh counter electrode. They exhibit sharp photonic band gaps in the optical reflectivity spectrum. This reflectivity can be tuned to appear anywhere in the visible to near-infrared spectral range, depending on the programmed etch waveform. We study the method of full width half maxima and reflectivity index control by using amplitude.

  • Future land remote sensing satellite systems will kikely be constrained in terms of communication band-width. To alleviate this limitation, the data must be compressed. Image data obtained from satellite exhibit a high degree of spatial and spectral correlations that must be properly exploited. In this paper we propose multispectral image data compression using wavelet transform and selective predicted vector quantization. Th eproposed method is based on accuratly predicting other band from reference band and reducing bit rate through threshold map. we can achieve better compression effeciency than conventional methods.
