  • In this paper, efficient functions for audio spectrum mapping with visible spectrum are proposed. Through mapping overall hearing frequency band with visible frequency band, emotional lighting might be possible. We propose a basic linear mapping function and non-linear mapping functions emphasizing specific audio frequency bands. For the algorithm implementation, spectrum analysis method and filter method are introduced. Especially, in this paper, a prototype LED lighting equipment using the digital filter method is implemented. The proposed lighting method can be applied to many LED lighting area using music.

  • Lighting improvements are needed for adequate operation of security installations according to the turn of scientific policing instead of human policing. The basic principles of security lighting is to provide sufficient lighting over a specific area so that anyone moving in or around can be seen easily. Also, in security lighting, illuminance and uniformity are to be considered for clearing of CCTV screen through the lighting improvement. To achieve such goals, each pole is to be considered of the height and the space of luminaries as well as the wattage and the type of lamps. In this paper, the lighting designs show the adequate operations of fence security systems through the actual measurement of illuminance by mock-up and the illuminance analyses for obtaining proper illuminance and uniformity value to keep brightness of CCTV screen able to confirm objects considering characteristics of CCTV monitor by simulations.

  • For rapid and precise design of lighting, lighting simulation programs are used. For determining the precision of the calculation results of the lighting simulation programs, the illuminance of the specific points are calculated analytically and are compared with the results of the programs by using light sources which have known LDC.

  • In this paper, we designed a power supply AC LED driving device which can display uniform power consumption and light efficiency even when AC power of different size is applied. By setting input voltages and deviations of different sizes, it is confirmed that the electric light characteristics are the same at two input voltages. In addition, according to peak voltage of AC power, improper lighting caused in specific LED section is improved, and LED lighting of all sections is implemented in all commercial AC input voltage.

  • The aim of this study is to develop a protocol for obtaining spectral signals that are robust to varying lighting conditions, which are often found in the Polar regions, for creating a spectral library specific to those regions. Because hyperspectral image (HSI)-derived spectra are collected on the same scale as images, they can be directly associated with image data. However, it is challenging to find precise and robust spectra that can be used for a spectral library from images taken under different lighting conditions. Hence, this study proposes a new radiometric calibration protocol that incorporates radiometric targets with a traditional vicarious calibration approach to solve issues in image-based spectrum measurements. HSIs obtained by the proposed method under different illumination levels are visually uniform and do not include any artifacts such as stripes or random noise. The extracted spectra capture spectral characteristics such as reflectance curve shapes and absorption features better than those that have not been calibrated. The results are also validated quantitatively. The calibrated spectra are shown to be very robust to varying lighting conditions and hence are suitable for a spectral library specific to the Polar regions.

  • Recently, the problem of global warming has issued seriously, so Green IT(Information Technology) using RFID/USN is concerned in order to solve environmental problems. In this paper, we implemented that public area like an underground parking lot could reduce unnecessary energy consumption used by lighting control system based on Ubiquitous Sensor Networks. The lighting control system for underground parking lot is comprised of intersection nodes for watching cars enter and leave, and light node for controlling light. It applies the routing protocol based on hierarchical cluster, hierarchical addressing method, and probability filtering method for the specific place like an underground parking lot. The result after experiments shows that the lighting control system could decrease electrical energy consumption to around 61.7%.

  • In this paper, we propose an autonomous Indoor lighting control system in which indoor lighting devices are autonomously controlled such that electricity bills are minimized in our daily life. Our focus is to utilize Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors to detect the presence of human being indoor and automatically to control indoor lighting electric devices. A control algorithm is also devised to control the whole system. We justify the proposed system by demonstrating specific applications in our everyday life. Cost survey and experimental results also demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed system in real life.

  • To reduce costs and address other practical concern related to architectural lighting, we have been involved in various aspects of advanced daylighting design and control. If we look toward future building trends, we see that the advanced has already successfully deployed such complex lighting control systems. This paper takes a broad view of what advanced manufacturers have done to develop energy efficient lighting control technologies such as sensors, lumen maintenance, time of day scheduling, peak demand reduction and so forth. First of all strategies, daylighting controls would also need to be commissioned to respond to the specific daylighting signature of the zone. To translate the daylight in term of the amount of energy savings, an electric lighting system is designed and automatic on-off control system integrated with the contribution of daylighting has been applied to the operating of the artificial lighting. The lighting analysis program, Lumen-Micro predicts the optimal layout of conventional fluorescent and incandescent lighting fixtures to meet the designed lighting level and calculates unit power density, which translates the demanded amount of lighting energy.

  • LED lighting may cause different sensation and color appearance due to the different spectral power distributions compared to those of conventional lightings. Particularly, the CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) of LED lighting has a major effect on color appearance so that this study conducted an experiment through a subjective evaluation and luminance measurement for effective color appearance in a space. This study performed a subjective evaluation under the seven different LED CCT conditions, and color appearance was evaluated with major five colors in a customized lighting box. In addition, luminance measurement was conducted for each CCT and color condition to compare the results from a subjective evaluation. The results of this study may help to select a proper LED CCT for specific color conditions.

  • LED lightings typically do not fail catastrophically during use. However, over time the light output will gradually depreciate. Even if there are same LED lighting, they are so different at all. because of dissimilar the use and environment of each LED lighting. In this paper, we make a description of reliability analysis procedures for the degradation data using collected field data. Reliability analysis procedures are consisted of estimating degradation models and failure time, verification of distribution and parameters of the distribution, and reliability measures estimation. At some point in time, the light emitted from an LED lightings depreciates to a level where it is no longer considered adequate for a specific application.
