  • Pesticide residues in soil could be affected to the growth of micro organisms and the activity of enzymes directly, and successively to the soil properties as pH, Eh and nitrogen metabolism. However, residues are diminished by degradation of soil microorganisms, run-off, leaching, volatilization, photodecomposition and uptake through crops. In this paper research results published in Korea were summarized about translocation of soil residues into crops, fates of residues in soil, effects to the activity of soil microorganisms and metabolic pathways of some pesticides. Generally speaking, pesticide residues in soil were not much affected to the agro-ecosystem except few chemicals. So it should be needed more further researches in this field, continuously.

  • This paper is intended to suggest how to improve Korean high school students' awareness of the pronunciation in order to foster communicative effectiveness. Initially it is focused on the tasks of listening to the suprasegmental aspects. The strategies used in the listening process are (1)discerning intonation units, (2)recognizing rhythm pattern, and (3)identifying contraction and linking in connected speech. The tasks including in each process are listening discrimination, guided practice activity, and listening and speaking activity. The teacher should avoid methods which yield discouraging outcomes and try to help students enjoy experience of success in doing exercises and activities. So I suggested: students put the slash on the pause perceptible to chunk the stream of speech into the intonation units, and mark the content words to internalize English rhythm. And then I suggested that students listen to pop song English in order to improve the awareness of function words and connected speech in the intonation unit.

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of respiratory rehabilitation training on the respiratory functions of hospitalized cervical spinal cord injury patients. Methods: One group pre and post test design was used. Subjects were 20 cervical spinal cord injury inpatients of the national rehabilitation center. Training program consisted of air cumulation training, manual assisted coughing training, and abdominal breathing. Trained rehabilitation nurse implemented 20 minutes program twice a day for 4 weeks. Respiratory function was measured as peak coughing flow rate, and perceived respiratory difficulty after activity on wheel chair for 30 minutes and during speaking and singing. Perceived respiratory difficulty was measured with modified Borg scale. Also content analysis was done with the result of open ended question about subjective feeling about training. All variables were measured 3 times before, 2weeks and 4 weeks after the program. Results: Peak coughing flow rate significantly improved after compared to before training. Also all three perceived respiratory difficulty variables decreased significantly after training. In the content analysis, 'it's easier to cough up phlegm' was the most frequent answered subjective feeling. 'Sound at speaking and coughing became louder', 'respiratory volume increased', and 'comfortable chest feeling' were frequent answered subjective feeling, in order. Conclusion: Although it is preliminary since no control group, respiratory rehabilitation training was found to be effective to improve respiratory function in terms of peak coughing flow rate, perceived respiratory difficulty, and subjective feeling. It is necessary further systemic research to investigate the effects of respiratory rehabilitation training.

  • The uniqueness of labour as a factor of production is that labour services cannot be separated from the employee. However, since the object of sale is only the services of the employee, not an employee himself, the labour conditions, determined by the labour and collective agreements or other agreements concluded at other levels and within the current legislation, are equally important. Speaking as a subject of labour, a person can realize his or her labour potential by the way of self-employment, that means to act as an independent producer seller of their products. Another way of labour potential realization is hiring, that means offering of the services as a hired employee to the employer, who is the subject of ownership. In this case there is an exchange under the principle: qualification and working time of the worker - for wages and profits. Each enterprise is confronted with a set of goals, among them - economic and social leadership. For their achievement the company uses all the available arsenal of resources - material, land, financial, labour. This indicates the equivalence of all types of resources in achieving the goal. But this is not quite true, because every resource can be included in production only through the activity of labour and people. And this activity depends on the attitude of the company to its employees, the degree of their motivation and stimulation.

  • Eco-friendly architecture, generally speaking, is considered as the activity of planting more and designing ponds, therefore many clients and constructors prefer to avoid building so due to initial construction costs. This paper aims to examine the cognition of environmental equipment systems and the applicability of echo-friendly building constructions. We examined the designer's demands of building equipment systems and eco-friendly environment and tried to deduce desirable suggestions for the system. We should solve the fundamentals of economical problems in the construction of eco-friendly buildings and we better think that government should make it a policy to advertise it and to reform the taxation system regarding environment friendly buildings.

  • Tracheoesophageal fistulation following total laryngectomy has widely been used for voice restoration, This technique make exhaled air to divert to hypopharynx where phayngoesophageal segment forms the neoglottis. Even through layngectomized patients loss the normal laryngeal adjustment for speaking, it has been known that voiced and voiceless sounds are prodused in TE phonation. Nine TE speakeres were subjected to present study designed to clarity the mechanism of neoglottic adjustment in TE phonation, Fiberoptic examination and radiologic studies were performed at all patients and EMG study was performed at 3 patients during I phonation. Fiberoptic & radiologic studies revealed the location of neoglottis, so called pharyngoesophargeal segment which was vibrated well. EMG activity increased for sound production at retropharyngeal prominence. These results indicated that neoglottic adjustment in TE phonation.

  • This investigation was to determine the changes in the trypsin inhibitor activity(TIA) and electrophoresis patterns of the soybean cotyledon and axis during germination. The TIA of the cotyledon decreased slightly and that of the axis decreased rapidly to 50% activivity after 7 day germination. At the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day's germination the TIA of the defatted dry axis was higher than that of cotyledon. However, the TIA of the fresh cotyledon was lower than that of the axis, due to its higher moisture content. Results from the electrophoretic studies showed that band 1 (polymer, 15S etc.), 2(11S), and 3(7S) whichare the major reserve proteins of soybean were decreased consid erably in cotyledon and axis and the fragments with Rm values between 0.5 and 1.0 were increased and band 5 showed up during germination. The band 4 of the cotyledon and band 6 of axis were not changed during germination. Generally speaking, the TIA and thereserve protein decreased as germination proceed.
