천리안위성 2A호 위성영상을 위한 영상융합기법의 비교평가 (A Comparison of Pan-sharpening Algorithms for GK-2A Satellite Imagery)

  • 기후변화 감시에 위성 자료 활용을 위해 GCOS (Global Climate Observing System)는 시공간 해상도, 시간 변화에 따른 안정성, 불확실도 등의 요구사항을 제시하고 있다. 천리안위성 2A호의 경우, 센서의 한계로 인해 산출물들이 공간해상도 조건에 충족하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 영상융합 기법들을 천리안위성 2A호 영상에 적용하여 산출물 생성 시 활용될 수 있는 최적의 기법을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 CS (Component Substitution), MRA (Multiresolution Analysis), VO (Variational Optimization), DL (Deep Learning)에 포함되는 총 6가지 영상융합 기법을 활용하였다. DL의 경우 합성적(Synthesis) 특성 기반 방법을 훈련자료 구축에 사용하였다. 합성적 특성 기반 방법의 과정은 PAN (Panchromatic)과 MS (Multispectral) 영상의 공간해상도 차이만큼 두 영상의 해상도를 낮춰 융합 영상을 생성한 후 원본 MS 영상과 비교한다. 합성적 특성 기반 방법은 공간해상도를 저하시킨 PAN 영상과 MS 영상 간 기하 특성이 같아야 사용자가 원하는 수준의 융합 영상을 제작할 수 있다. 하지만, 훈련자료 구축 시 비유사성이 존재하기에 이를 최소화하는 방법으로 무작위 비율을 활용한 PSGAN 모델(PSGAN_RD)을 추가로 활용하였다. 융합 영상의 검증은 일관성(consistency) 및 합성적 특성 기반 정성적, 정량적 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 영상융합 알고리즘 중 GSA가 공간 유사도를 나타내는 평가지수에서 가장 높은 수치를 보였으며, 분광 유사도를 나타내는 지수들은 PSGAN_RD 모델의 정확도가 가장 높았다. 융합 영상의 공간 및 분광 특성을 모두 고려한다면 PSGAN_RD 모델이 천리안위성 2A호 산출물 제작에 가장 최적일 것으로 판단하였다.

  • In recent study on design of experiments, the complicate metamodeling has been studied because defining exact model using computer simulation is expensive and time consuming. Thus, some designers often use approximate models, which express the relation between some inputs and outputs. In this paper, we review and compare the complicate metamodels, which are expressed by the interaction of various data through trying many physical experiments and running a computer simulation. The prediction model in this paper employs interpolation schemes known as ordinary kriging developed in the fields of spatial statistics and kriging in Design and Analysis of Computer Experiments (DACE) model. We will focus on describing the definitions, the prediction functions and the algorithms of two kriging methods, and assess the error measures of those by using some validation methods.

Distributed Carrier Aggregation in Small Cell Networks: A Game-theoretic Approach

  • In this paper, we investigate the problem of achieving global optimization for distributed carrier aggregation (CA) in small cell networks, using a game theoretic solution. To cope with the local interference and the distinct cost of intra-band and inter-band CA, we propose a non-cooperation game which is proved as an exact potential game. Furthermore, we propose a spatial adaptive play learning algorithm with heterogeneous learning parameters to converge towards NE of the game. In this algorithm, heterogeneous learning parameters are introduced to accelerate the convergence speed. It is shown that with the proposed game-theoretic approach, global optimization is achieved with local information exchange. Simulation results validate the effectivity of the proposed game-theoretic CA approach.

VIDEO INPAINTING ALGORITHM FOR A DYNAMIC SCENE

  • A new video inpainting algorithm is proposed for removing unwanted objects or error of sources from video data. In the first step, the block bundle is defined by the motion information of the video data to keep the temporal consistency. Next, the block bundles are arranged in the 3-dimensional graph that is constructed by the spatial and temporal correlation. Finally, we pose the inpainting problem in the form of a discrete global optimization and minimize the objective function to find the best temporal bundles for the grid points. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm yields visually pleasing video inpainting results even in a dynamic scene.

  • 본 연구는 적층복합보에 있어서의 층간분리현상을 추적하는 기법을 소개하고 있다. 이 기법에서는 층간분리된 보와 층간분리되지 않은 보와의 응답차이를 최대화하도록 조화운동의 가력을 보위별로 최적화한다. 2개층의 알루미늄 보에 대하여 수치해석을 수행하였으며, 계측 및 보의 형태에 따른 노이즈를 고려하였다. 층간 분리를 모델링하기 위하여 스텝함수를 사용하였으며 층별 복합판 이론에 기본한 유한요소법을 이용하여 해석하였다.

  • This paper investigate the optimum thickness distribution of plate structure with different essential boundary conditions in the fundamental natural frequency maximization problem. In this study, the fundamental natural frequency is considered as the objective function to be maximized and the initial volume of structures is used as the constraint function. The computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) such as Coon's patch representation is used to represent the thickness distribution of plates. A reliable degenerated shell finite element is adopted calculate the accurate fundamental natural frequency of the plates. Robust optimization algorithms implemented in the optimizer DoT are adopted to search optimum thickness values during the optimization iteration. Finally, the optimum thickness distribution with respect to different boundary condition

Optimization of Diffractive Optical Elements by Genetic Algorithm

  • In this paper, a method based on the Genetic Algorithm(GA) for phase optimization is proposed. The programmable hybrid optical interconnection system implemented by the spatial light modula-tor is tested for a near-real-time optical processing. Designed diffractive grating has a 74.7[%] high diffraction efficiency and a $1.73 {\times}10^{-1}$ uniformity quantitatively. The dependence of characteris-tics on several parameters in the grating design are analyzed. Also, as a result of the geometrical transformation to obtain quantitative data for $3 {\times} 3$ spot beams, an objective optical experiment using CCD array detector produces the mean of beam intensity as a gray level of 202, the maximum value is 225, the minimum value is 186, and uniformity is quantitatively $1.93 {\times} 10^{-1}$, similar to the simulation result.

  • The user experience of practical indoor power line communication (PLC) applications is greatly affected by the system quality-of-service (QoS) criteria. With a general broadcast-and-multi-access (BMA) relay scheme, in this work we investigate the joint source and relay power optimization of the amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems used under indoor broad-band PLC environments. To achieve both time diversity and spatial diversity from the relay-involved PLC channel, which is time-varying in nature, the source node has been configured to transmit an identical message twice in the first and second signalling phase, respectively. The QoS constrained power allocation problem is not convex, which makes the global optimal solution is computationally intractable. To solve this problem, an alternating optimization (AO) method has been adopted and decomposes this problem into three convex/quasi-convex sub-problems. Simulation results show the fast convergence and short delay of the proposed algorithm under realistic relay-involved PLC channels. Compared with the two-hop and broadcast-and-forward (BF) relay systems, the proposed general relay system meets the same QoS requirement with less network power assumption.

2 층열차 차체의 meta model 기반 최적설계 (Meta Model-Based Desgin Optimization of Double-Deck Train Carbody)

  • Double-deck train have studied in the next generation train in KRRI. Double-deck train have more seat capacities compared with single deck vehicles and is a efficient, reliable and comfortable alternative train. Because of heavy weight, weight minimization of double-deck train carbody is imperative to reduce cost and extend life-time of train. Weight minimization problem of the double-deck train car-body is required to decide 66 design variables of thicknesses for large aluminum extruded panel while satisfying stress constraints. Design variables are too many and one execution of structural analysis of double-deck train carbody is time-consuming. Therefore, we adopt approximation technique to save computational cost of optimization process. Metamodels such as response surface model (RSM) and kriging model are used to approximate model-based optimization is described. RSM is easy to obtain and expressed explicit function, but this is not suitable for highly nonlinear and large scaled problems. Kriging model employs an interpolation scheme and is developed in the fields of spatial statistics and geostatistics. Target of this design is to find optimum thickness of AEP to minimize weight of doulbe-deck train carbody. In this study, meta model techniques are introduced to carry out weight minimization of a double-deck train car-body.
