연성 막구조의 파라메트릭 설계 시스템 개발 (Development of a Parametric Design System for Membrane Structures)

  • The objective of this research is to development of a parametric design system for membrane structures. The parametric design platform for the spatial structures has been designed and implemented. Rhino3D is used as a 3D graphic kernel and Grasshopper is introduced as a parametric modeling engine. Modeling components such as structural members, loading conditions, and support conditions are developed for structural modeling of the spatial structures. The interface module with commercial structural analysis programs is implemented. An iterative generation algorithm for design alternatives is a part of the design platform. This paper also proposes a design approach for the parametric design of Spoke Wheel membrane structures. A parametric modeling component is designed and implemented. SOFiSTik is examined to interact with the design platform as the structural analysis module. The application of the developed interface is to design optimally Spoke Wheel Shaped Ductile Membrane Structure using parametric design. It is possible to obtain objective shape by controlling the parameter using a parametric modeling designed for shape finding of spoke wheel shaped ductile membrane structure. Recently, looking at the present Construction Trends, It has increased the demand of the large spatial structure. But, It requires a lot of time for Modeling design and the Structural analysis. Finally an optimization process for membrane structures is proposed.

복합재료 그물형 공간 트러스의 점탄성적 비선형 해석 (Nonlinear Viscoelastic Analysis of Reticulated Spatial Truss Composed of Composite Materials)

  • 본 연구는 Arc-length method를 이용한 복합재료 공간 구조물의 대변형 거동의 관찰에 관한 것이다. 비선형 평형경로의 각각의 하중단계에서 자동적으로 Arc-length 크기를 변화시켜 하중-변위 관계곡선을 추적할 수 있도록 하였다. 복합재료 공간 트러스의 점탄성 해석은 quasi-elastic 방법을 사용해 탄성해를 구하였다. Micro Mechanical Materials Modeling 방법을 사용하여 탄성계수를 결정하였고 하중조합에 따른 비선형 하중-변위 곡선을 추적하였다. 본 연구의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 그물형 공간 트러스를 다른 방법의 결과들과 비교하였다.

Uncertainty analysis of BRDF Modeling Using 6S Simulations and Monte-Carlo Method

  • This paper presents the method to quantitatively evaluate the uncertainty of the semi-empirical Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function (BRDF) model for Himawari-8/AHI. The uncertainty of BRDF modeling was affected by various issues such as assumption of model and number of observations, thus, it is difficult that evaluating the performance of BRDF modeling using simple uncertainty equations. Therefore, in this paper, Monte-Carlo method, which is most dependable method to analyze dynamic complex systems through iterative simulation, was used. The 1,000 input datasets for analyzing the uncertainty of BRDF modeling were generated using the Second Simulation of a Satellite Signal in the Solar Spectrum (6S) Radiative Transfer Model (RTM) simulation with MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) BRDF product. Then, we randomly selected data according to the number of observations from 4 to 35 in the input dataset and performed BRDF modeling using them. Finally, the uncertainty was calculated by comparing reproduced surface reflectance through the BRDF model and simulated surface reflectance using 6S RTM and expressed as bias and root-mean-square-error (RMSE). The bias was negative for all observations and channels, but was very small within 0.01. RMSE showed a tendency to decrease as the number of observations increased, and showed a stable value within 0.05 in all channels. In addition, our results show that when the viewing zenith angle is 40° or more, the RMSE tends to increase slightly. This information can be utilized in the uncertainty analysis of subsequently retrieved geophysical variables.

Development and application of a GIS based groundwater modeling system

  • To carry out systematic groundwater assessment, exploration and management and to use these for protection of optimal groundwater yield, a data analysis and management system is required. Thus, the object of this research was to develop and apply software that integrates GIS and groundwater modeling: GISGAM (GIS for groundwater analysis and management system). The GIS program ArcView and the groundwater-modeling program MODFLOW were used for the GISGAM. The program components consist of a pre-processor, a processor, and a post-processor for groundwater modeling. In addition, GIS functions such as input, manipulation, analysis and output of data were embedded into the program. In applying the program to pilot area, topography, geology, soil, land use and well databases, and a groundwater flow model were constructed for the study area. This case study revealed the advantage and convenience of groundwater modeling using GIS capabilities. By integrating GIS and the groundwater model, the impact of changing values of hydrogeological constants on model results could be more easily evaluated.

Topic Modeling and Sentiment Analysis of Twitter Discussions on COVID-19 from Spatial and Temporal Perspectives

  • The study reported in this paper aimed to evaluate the topics and opinions of COVID-19 discussion found on Twitter. It performed topic modeling and sentiment analysis of tweets posted during the COVID-19 outbreak, and compared these results over space and time. In addition, by covering a more recent and a longer period of the pandemic timeline, several patterns not previously reported in the literature were revealed. Author-pooled Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) was used to generate twenty topics that discuss different aspects related to the pandemic. Time-series analysis of the distribution of tweets over topics was performed to explore how the discussion on each topic changed over time, and the potential reasons behind the change. In addition, spatial analysis of topics was performed by comparing the percentage of tweets in each topic among top tweeting countries. Afterward, sentiment analysis of tweets was performed at both temporal and spatial levels. Our intention was to analyze how the sentiment differs between countries and in response to certain events. The performance of the topic model was assessed by being compared with other alternative topic modeling techniques. The topic coherence was measured for the different techniques while changing the number of topics. Results showed that the pooling by author before performing LDA significantly improved the produced topic models.

BIM 기반의 공간객체를 이용한 물량산출 정확성 분석 (An Accuracy Analysis on Quantity Take-off Using BIM-based Spatial Object)

  • After being introduced, Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been actively applied to the cost estimation of construction projects, and various studies on BIM based quantity take-off have been carried out. In practice, however, these calculations take considerable time, because BIM based quantity take-off is further conducted along with 2D-based quantity take-off. Studies on the quantity take-off using BIM spatial objects have been carried out on early stages of projects, but how this method differs from the existing quantity take-off method and how accurate it is in comparison have rarely been verified. Therefore, by comparing 2D based quantities with quantities through BIM spatial objects, this study analyzed the accuracy of quantity take-off using BIM spatial objects. To this end, the properties of BIM spatial objects and quantity calculable spatial types were analyzed, and existing 2D-based quantities and quantities extracted from BIM spatial objects were compared through a case study. As a result, the quantity of spatial objects found to be more by about 7.13% in 0.05% and therefore, this difference should be considered during quantity take-off using BIM spatial objects. Through the results of this study, we can improve the accuracy of quantity take-off using BIM spatial objects in the early stage of a construction project.

한국의 지리공간분석 및 모델링 연구 (Geospatial Analysis and Modeling in Korea: A Literature Review)

  • 이 논문의 연구 목적은 한국 지리학계에서 이루어진 지리공간분석 및 모델링 분야의 연구를 개관하는 것이다. 여기에서 지리공간분석과 모델링이라는 분야는 공간데이터분석 및 공간통계학, 공간최적화, 지오시뮬레이션 관련 연구를 의미하는 것으로 한정한다. 한국의 지리공간분석과 모델링 분야는 컴퓨터 혹은 분석 지도학과 GIS가 도입된 1990년대의 초기 단계를 거쳐, 관련 연구 논문이 쏟아진 2000년대의 성장 단계로 이행했으며, 현재 성숙 단계를 향해 진화하고 있다. 공간데이터분석과 공간통계학 분야에서는 공간적 포인트 패턴 데이터, 에이리어 데이터, 지구통계학적 데이터, 공간적 상호작용 데이터에 대한 다양한 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 공간최적화 분야에서는 시설물 입지문제, 구획문제, 경로설정 문제 등에 대한 모델의 개발 및 적용과 관련된 연구가 활발하게 진행되어 왔다. 지오시뮬레이션 분야에서는 셀룰라 오토마타와 관련된 연구가 대부분을 차지하고 있는 것에 비하여, 에이전트 기반 모델링은 이제 시작단계에 있다. 이 모든 연구 성과들 중 몇몇은 표준 기법의 단순한 적용을 넘어 방법론적 진보를 이끌어 낸 것으로 평가된다.

인간의 전완 회전을 위한 원위 요척골 관절의 기구학적 모델링 (Kinematic Modeling of Distal Radioulnar Joint for Human Forearm Rotation)

  • This paper presents the kinematic modeling of the human forearm rotation constructed with a spatial four-bar linkage. Especially, a circumduction of the distal ulna is modeled for a minimal displacement of the position of the hand during the forearm rotation from the supination to the pronation. To establish its model, four joint types of the four-bar linkage are, firstly, assigned with the reasonable grounds, and then the spatial linkage having the URUU (Universal-Revolute-Universal-Universal) joint type is proposed. Kinematic analysis is conducted to show the behavior of the distal radio-ulna as well as to evaluate the angular displacements of all the joints. From the simulation result, it is, finally, revealed that the URUU spatial linkage can be substituted for the URUR (Universal-Revolute-Universal-Revolute) spatial linkage by a kinematic constraint.

  • GIS는 속성자료와 관련하여 공간자료를 다루는데 강력한 수단이다. 그러나 GIS는 동적인 계획문제(dynamic planning problems)를 다루는데 있어서 분석기능과 인터페이스기능이 부족하다. 의사결정지원 체계(Decision Support Systems: DSS)는 그래픽사용자인터페이스(Graphic User Interface: GUI)기능, 모델링기능과 데이터베이스기능을 제공하여 GIS의 부족한 면을 보완한다. DSS의 새로운 분류인 공간의사 결정지원체계(Spatial Decision Support Systems: SDSS)는 공간차원의 문제를 취급할 시 표현기능, 기본적인 분석기능, 그리고 공간, 비공간자료 취급기능과 같은 GIS의 기능과 그래픽사용자인터페이스기능, 모델링기능, 그리고 데이터베이스기능과 같은 DSS의 기능을 통합한다. 계획지원체계(Planning Support Systems: PSS)는 SDSS의 기능에 더 진보된 공간분석기능과 시간기능을 추가한다. 이 연구에서는 GIS, 가치공학(value engineering: VE), 그리고 생애주기비용(life cycle costing: LCC)에 의한 토지이용계획에 따른 상수도관망의 용량확장을 위한 PSS의 구축에 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 이러한 PSS는 토지이용계획에 따른 상수도 필요량을 공급하고 도시성장 규제를 위한 일련의 용량확장대안을 작성하고 도시성장에 연관되는 상수도관망의 투자에 관한 문제를 다룬다.

개방형 BIM 기반 공간네트워크 분석도구 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of the Spatial Network Analysis Tool based on Open BIM Technologies)

  • One distinguishing feature of BIM(Building Information Modeling) is the objectification of spatial elements independently, which makes it easy to represent spatial network. From this perspective, this study aimed to develop the spatial network analysis tool based on open BIM technologies. From the literature review, an object model of spatial network with nodes and links and a process model from construction to visualization were established. A prototype system implementing the proposed models, named SNAT(Spatial Network Analysis Tool), was developed in Java platform with using its open source packages. SNAT can create a spatial network from IFC-BIM model, calculate the indices of spatial network analysis, and visualize it with the representing types(map, graph, matrix and table).
