With the advent of smart phones recently, users have experienced a new way of communicating using a smart phone without the constraints of time and space. As a result, users are ubiquitous around the user's own resources and a variety of natural interaction that was required. In particular, the interaction between the user and the content in the virtual reality and augmented reality, otherwise your content or service in the real world and the virtual direct and intuitive interaction can be. In this paper, we use Augmented Reality smart-phone sitting in the subway system that allows people to know the arrival station is designed to offer.
Mechanic behavior of Y-shape thin-walled box girder bridge structure is complex, so one can not exactly hold the mechanical behavior of the Y-shape thin-walled box girder bridge structure through general calculation theory and analytical method. To hold the mechanical behavior better, based on elementary beam theory, by increasing the degree of freedom analytical method, taking account of restrained torsiondistortion angledistortion warp and shearing lag effect at the same time, authors obtain a thin-walled box beam analytical element of 10 degrees of freedom of every node, derive stiffness matrix of the element, and code a finite element procedure. In addition, authors combine the obtained procedure with spatial grillage analytical method, meanwhile, they build a new analytical method that is the spatial thin-walled box girder element grillage analysis method. In order to validate the precision of the obtained analysis method, authors analyze a type Y-shape thin-walled box girder bridge structure according to the elementary beam theory analytical method, the shell theory analytical method and the spatial thin-walled box girder element grillage analysis method respectively. At last, authors test a type Y-shape thin-walled box girder bridge structure. Comparisons of the results of theory analysis with the experimental text show that the spatial thin-walled box girder element grillage analysis method is simple and exact. The research results are helpful for the knowledge of the mechanics property of these Y-shape thin-walled box girder bridge structures.

The purpose of IEEE 802.16j is to extend coverage and to enhance throughput by using relay station additionally to conventional IEEE 802.16e . The cellular system experiences performance degradation at the cell edge due to pathloss, shadow and multipath fading. We can get advantage of spatial diversity gain by using relays more than two cooperatively in the IEEE 802.16j system. Cooperative relaying using space-time code provides better performance under multipath fading and has more robustness against the shadow fading than single relaying. In this paper, we investigate the performance of IEEE 802.16j using cooperative relaying by link level simulation. We also show that the cooperative relaying system achieves better performance than the conventional single relaying system. We apply realistic shadow model considering correlations between shadow fadings of different relaying paths. It is shown that the performance of the system depends highly on the spatial location of relay stations.

Empirical design is still used to avoid a structural damage because impact phenomenon and structural behaviour due to wave impact load can not examined accurately. The damage due to wave impact load is largely affected by impact pressure impulse and impact load area. The objective of this study is, as the second step, to develop an efficient scantling program of bow flare structure, and to predict its impact load area by comparing maximum dented deformations at center of idealized panel structure model of bow flare structure of 300k DWT VLCC using LS/DYNA3D code, which will be used for its verification of dynamic structural analysis, as the next step. Through this study, the impact load area was estimated as $1.5s{\times}1.5s$ stiffener space(s) in the case of panel with stiffeners and as $2.5s{\times}2.5s$, with stringers, under impact pressure curve with peak height 6.5MPa, tail height 1.0MPa, and duration time 5.0msec.

This work investigates the influence of water compressibility on pressure pulsations induced by rotor-stator interaction (RSI) in hydraulic machinery, using the commercial CFD solver ANSYS-CFX. A pipe flow example with harmonic velocity excitation at the inlet plane is simulated using different grid densities and time step sizes. Results are compared with a validated code for hydraulic networks (SIMSEN). Subsequently, the solution procedure is applied to a simplified 2.5-dimensional pump-turbine configuration in prototype with different speeds of sound as well as in model scale with an adapted speed of sound. Pressure fluctuations are compared with numerical and experimental data based on prototype scale. The good agreement indicates that the scaling of acoustic effects with an adapted speed of sound works well. With respect to pressure fluctuation amplitudes along the centerline of runner channels, incompressible solutions exhibit a linear decrease while compressible solutions exhibit sinusoidal distributions with maximum values at half the channel length, coinciding with analytical solutions of one-dimensional acoustics. Furthermore, in compressible simulation the amplification of pressure fluctuations is observed from the inlet of stay vane channels to the spiral case wall. Finally, the procedure is applied to a three-dimensional pump configuration in model scale with adapted speed of sound. Normalized Pressure fluctuations are compared with results from prototype measurements. Compared to incompressible computations, compressible simulations provide similar pressure fluctuations in vaneless space, but pressure fluctuations in spiral case and penstock may be much higher.
A steel-concrete composite column is a recently developed composite system in which the two opposite flanges of the H-shape section are connected by welded links, and the vacant space enclosed by the flanges, web, and links is filled with concrete. Previous experiments on the SC composite column were performed to evaluate its compression and bending and shear strengths, respectively, and they showed fairly good results. In addition to thesestudies, it may be necessary to evaluate the flexural-axial capacity of an SC composite column, because itscolumn members are generally subjected to axial force and bending moment at the same time. In this study, the bending strength of an SC composite column subjected to axial compression force was investigated experimentally. The results of the study showed that the AISC-LRFD provisions representedexcessively low values compared with those of the ACI, Eurocode-4, and Japan Code provisions. The Eurocode-4 provisions represented reasonable evaluations of the strength of the SC composite column composed of a non-compact section.

In this paper, we consider a constant modulus (CM) based blind adaptive receiver design for downlink multi-carrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems employing simple space-time block coding (STBC). In the paper, filter weight vectors used for the detection of the transmitted symbols are partitioned into its subvectors and then, special relations among the optimal subvectors minimizing the CM metric are derived. Using the special relations, we present a modified CM metric and propose a new blind adaptive stochastic-gradient CM algorithm (SG-CMA) by minimizing the modified CM metric. The proposed blind adaptive SG-CMA has faster convergence rate than the conventional SG-CMA because the filter weight vectors of the proposed scheme are updated in the region of satisfying the derived special relations. Computer simulation results are given to verify the superiority of the proposed SG-CMA.

A 2-way solenoid valve regulates to maintain the pressure of ullage volume of propellant tanks when the command is given by control system for the liquid-propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle. The simulation model of solenoid valve for pressurization is designed with AMESim to verify the designs and evaluate the dynamic characteristics and pneumatic behaviors of valve. To improve the accuracy of the model, numerical flow analysis by using FLUNET code. The simulation results of their operating durations of valve by AMESim analysis are matched up with the results of experiments and validate valve model. Using the model, we analyze performance of valve; opening/closing pressure, operating time on various design factors of basic valve and control valve; geometrical size of valve seat, ratio of basic valve and sealing area.

Light-frame wood structures have the ability to carry gravity loads. However, their performance during severe wind storms has indicated weakness with respect to resisting uplift wind loads exerted on the roofs of residential houses. A common failure mode observed during almost all main hurricane events initiates at the roof-to-wall connections (RTWCs). The toe-nail connections typically used at these locations are weak with regard to resisting uplift loading. This issue has been investigated at the Insurance Research Lab for Better Homes, where full-scale testing was conducted of a house under appropriate simulated uplift wind loads. This paper describes the detailed and sophisticated numerical simulation performed for this full-scale test, following which the numerical predictions were compared with the experimental results. In the numerical model, the nonlinear behavior is concentrated at the RTWCs, which is simulated with the use of a multi-linear plastic element. The analysis was conducted on four sets of uplift loads applied during the physical testing: 30 m/sincreased by 5 m/sincrements to 45 m/s. At this level of uplift loading, the connections exhibited inelastic behavior. A comparison with the experimental results revealed the ability of the sophisticated numerical model to predict the nonlinear response of the roof under wind uplift loads that vary both in time and space. A further component of the study was an evaluation of the load sharing among the trusses under realistic, uniform, and code pressures. Both the numerical model and the tributary area method were used for the load-sharing calculations.
This paper presents the evaluation of crashworthiness and rollover characteristics of low-floor bus vehicles made of aluminum honeycomb sandwich composites with glass-fabric epoxy laminate facesheets. Crashworthiness and rollover analysis of low-floor bus was carried out using explicit finite element analysis code LS-DYNA3D with the lapse of time. Material testing was conducted to determine the input parameters for the composite laminate facesheet model, and the effective equivalent damage model for the orthotropic honeycomb core material. The crash conditions of low-floor bus were frontal accident with speed of 60km/h. Rollover analysis were conducted according to the safety rules of European standard (ECE-R66). The results showed that the survival space for driver and passengers was secured against frontal crashworthiness and rollover of low-floor bus. Also, The modified Chang-Chang failure criterion is recommended to predict the failure mode of composite structures for crashworthiness and rollover analysis.
