  • This paper investigates the accuracy of three-dimensional positioning for EROS A stereo pairs when different numbers of ground control points are employed. The major works of the proposed schemes include: (1) initialization of orientation parameters (2) preliminary orbit fitting, (3) orbit refinement using the least squares filtering technique, and (4) space intersection. The experiment includes validation of positioning accuracy for an EROS A in-track stereo pair when different number of check points are employed.

  • The NASA Antarctica balloon experiment CREAM has successfully collected the data of energetic cosmic rays during six flights in past years. It recently observed the unexpected discrete hardening in energy spectra of comic rays. However high-statistics data of energetic cosmic rays are required for the further investigation of the unexpected hardening in comic-ray energy spectra. The International Space Station (ISS) is an ideal platform for the CREAM experiment to investigate the unexpected hardening and explore the fundamental issues like the acceleration mechanism and the origin of energetic cosmic rays because of the high duty cycle of the experiment in the ISS platform. We will present the design of the ISS-CREAM experiment, and the development and fabrication status of the detector components including the 4-layer silicon charge detector which will measure the charge constitution of cosmic rays with unprecedented accuracy.

  • In this study, one-dimensional analysis under the assumption of an inviscid flow was conducted for the experiment initiated by the French-German Research Institute of Saint-Louis (ISL) in order to investigate the energy effect of aluminum combustion. Previous theoretical analysis based on the assumptions of isentropic compression and a constant specific heat derived by ISL claimed that the experiment was not affected by the heat of aluminum combustion. However, rigorous analysis in present investigation that considered the average properties behind the shock wave compression and temperature-dependent specific heat showed that the S225 experiment was partially affected by the aluminum combustion. The increase in heat due to aluminum combustion was estimated from the rigorous analysis.

  • In this paper, we present a way that can implement the vector control Algorithm of induction motor and PWM signal generation on the basis of Matlab Simulink environment. The overall system model is designed by Simulink toolbox for vector control of induction motor, and then implement experiment with the DS1103 board of dSPACE. Although we are not coding the system, it is capable of doing simulation and experiment simultaneously. That is why Matlab and dSPACE board compiler can generate the '*.c' and '*.obj' files on the designed system automatically. After considering about hardware structure and driving system in Ds1103 board we verify the availability of Proposed method through in a comparison/analysis between simulation and experiment.

  • Most of virtual reality systems ask users to control 3D objects or to navigate 3D world using 3D controllers. To maximize the human performance in the control, the design of virtual reality system and its input and output devices should be optimized. In this study, an experiment was designed to investigate the effects of three resolution factors of a virtual reality system on the human performance. Six subjects conducted the experiment for the factors; two frame rates, three spatial resolutions, and three pictorial contents. The result showed that the greater the spatial resolution was, the higher the human performance was. For the temporal resolution, fixed frame rate at 18 Hz was better than the varied maximized frame rate. For the pictorial contents, the virtual space with orientation cues marked the greatest performance than the other two conditions; the virtual space without any orientation cue and the virtual space like real world. These results could be applied for the design of virtual reality systems.

  • Generally, The systems are so complex that it not possible to obtain reasonable model using physical insight. Also a model based on physical insight contains a number of unknown parameters even if the structure is derived from physical laws. To solve these problems, the systems identification is described in this paper. So, AC servo motor system which has both open loop and closed loop is selected as an example for identification. A state-space model of AC servo motor system is identified through open loop experiment and identified through closed loop experiment and using pole placement integral controller to open loop system. As the results, From ARMA model, We have obtained continuous-time state space model.

  • Thc CCD earth image experiment(CEIE) is one of the main payload of the KITSAT-1. Since it was launched on Age. 11, 1992, the CEIE has taken more than 500 images on the earth surface world-wide so far. An image from the space is very different from a feature on the real Earth surface due to various radiometric and geometric distortions. Preprocessing to remove those distortions has to take place before the image data are processed and analyzed further for various applications. This paper summarizes the result of the operation of the CEIE and describes the procedure to perform preprocessing including radiometric and geometric correction.

  • This research studies in the field of domestic fires are an issue in many scientific fire research as a research method to validate the domestic environment and ISO-9705 housing on the basis of experiments in virtual space by making a single fire compartment space for conducting experiments and Appearance of a fire occurring within each flammable Heat Release Rate analysis was carried out mainly. Placed within the space of one flammable HRR calculated as the sum of the number of single-room fire experiments conducted and the results compared with the value in comparing the conduct of fire locations and fire load within the building area of the future, the HRR value represents the change in domestic a consideration of the safety of the building is to propose matters.

  • Seoullo7017, an elevated linear park, was created to redevelop obsolete road infrastructure as public space, which provides unique landscapes. This study was aimed to evaluate and suggest proper planting design for improving psychological benefits in Seoullo7017. Field survey and simulation experiment were carried out to investigate the user's perception on the landscapes. Many users had negative feelings of the present landscapes in Seoullo7017, due to concrete pavement and simple planting design using big concrete pots. Landscape simulation experiment showed this perception could change depending on planting design. In especial, herb species played an important role in improving the quality of landscape in a linear park and providing positive feelings such as refreshment, warmth and naturalness. This study suggested that planting design in a linear space needs to be focused rather on the planting style and species than the volume of greens.

  • The Precipitable Water Vapor (PWV) from GPS with high resolution in terms of time and space might reduce the limitations of the numerical weather prediction (NWP) model for easily variable phenomena, such as precipitation and cloud. We have converted to PWV from Global Positioning System (GPS) data of Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries (MOMAF). First of all, we have selected the heavy rainfall case of having a predictability limitation in time and space due to small-scale motion. In order to evaluate the effect for GPS PWV, we have executed the sensitivity experiment with PWV from GPS data over Korean peninsula in the Weather Research & Forecasting 3-Dimensional Variational (WRF-3DVAR). We have also suggested the direction of further research for an improvement of the predictability of NWP model on the basis of this case.
