다운홀 탄성파 기법용 전단파 자동 가진원의 개발 (Development of Automatic Shear-wave Source for Downhole Seismic Method)

  • 지반의 전단파 속도 주상도를 도출하는데 있어 다운홀 기법은 하나의 시추공을 이용하고 간단한 지표면 가진원을 사용하므로 매우 경제적이다. 현장 실험을 더욱 용이하게 하고 양질의 신호를 획득하기 위해 자동 가진원을 개발하였다. 모터-스프링 타입으로 저렴하며 현장에서 다루기 매우 용이하다. 자동 가진원은 수동 가진원에 비하여 육체적 부담을 줄여주고 실험 소요 시간을 단축시킨다. 양질의 반복성이 있는 신호를 발생시켜 결과 해석에 유리하다. 자동 가진원과 더불어 적절한 감지기 시스템, 노트북 기반 신호 획득 장비 및 운용 프로그램과의 조합을 통해 반자동 다운홀 수행 시스템을 구축하였다. 수동 가진원과의 비교 검증 실험을 통해 제작된 자동 가진원의 장점들을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 구축된 수행 시스템의 현장 적용을 통해 용이하고 신뢰성 있는 기법 수행을 위해서 시스템을 자동화하는 것이 유리함을 알 수 있었다.

다파장 광원을 이용한 위상 물체의 2 차원 굴절률 분포와 두께 측정을 위한 분리 알고리즘 (Separation Algorithm for 2D Refractive Index Distribution and Thickness Measurement of Transparent Objects using Multi-wavelength Source)

  • We propose the separation algorithm to simultaneously measure two-dimensional refractive index distribution and thickness profile of transparent samples using three wavelengths. The optical system was based on the Mach-zehnder interferometer with LD (Laser Diode)-based multi-wavelength sources. A LCR (Liquid Crystal Retarder) was used to obtain interference images at four phase states and then the optical phase of the object is calculated by four-bucket algorithm. Experimental results with a glass rod are provided at the different wavelengths of 635nm, 660nm and 675nm. The refractive indices of the sample are distributed with accuracy of less than 0.0005 and the thickness profile of sample was cylindrical type. This result demonstrates that it is possible to separate refractive index distribution and thickness profile of samples in two dimensions using the proposed algorithm.

  • 임베디드 시스템의 개발에서 저전력을 소모하는 소프트웨어 개발에 대한 요구가 증대하고 있다. 따라서 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발 과정에서 소모 전력에 대한 정량적인 예측을 가능하도록 하는 연구가 늘어나고 있는 추세이다. 기존의 소모 전력 분석은 소스 코드를 중심으로 이루어져왔으나 분석을 위한 노력 및 시간이 많이 요구된다는 단점으로 인하여, 소프트웨어 모델 기반의 소모 전력 분석 기법에 관심을 두는 추세이다. 본 논문은 UML 모델 기반의 임베디드 소프트웨어 모델링 과정에서 설계 모델을 이용한 소모 전력 분석에 주안점을 두었으며, 이를 위하여 OMG가 개발한 MARTE 프로파일을 확장하였다. 이러한 확장은 별도의 분석용 모델을 개발하지 않고, UML 다이어그램을 이용한 소모 전력 분석이 가능하도록 한다.

Effect of aspect ratio on solutally buoyancy-driven convection in mercurous chloride $(Hg_2Cl_2)$ crystal growth processes

  • For an aspect ratio (transport length-to-width) of 5, Pr = 2.89, Le = 0.018, Pe = 2.29, Cv = 1.11, $P_B$=40 Torr, solutally buoyancy-driven convection $(Gr_s=3.03{\times}10^5)$ due to the disparity in the molecular weights of the component A $(Hg_2Cl_2)$ and B (He) is stronger than thermally buoyancy-driven convection $(Cr_t=1.66{\times}10^4)$. The crystal growth rate is decreased exponentially for $2.5\;{\leq}\;Ar\;{\leq}\;5$, with (1) the linear temperature profile and a fixed temperature difference, (2) the imposed thermal profile, a fixed crystal region and varied temperature difference. This is related to the finding that the effects of side walls tend to stabilize convection in the growth reactor. But, with the imposed thermal profile, a fixed source region and varied temperature difference, the rate is increased far $2\;{\leq}\;Ar\;{\leq}\;3$, and remains nearly unchanged for $3\;{\leq}\;Ar\;{\leq}\;5$.

솔레노이드 타입 디젤 커먼레일 인젝터 구동을 위한 전류 파형 변화에 따른 분사 연료 압력파 특성 (A Study on Characteristics of Injected Fuel Pressure Waves of a Solenoid Type Diesel Common Rail Injector with Controlling Current Wave for Driving the Injector)

  • Injected fuel pressure waves of a common rail injector with various current profiles supplied to the injecor were measured using Bosch method. In order to drive the common rail injector, the current in the solenoid should be controlled using what is known as a peak and hold pattern, which consists of a high current level with a short time duration (peak) in the first step and a low current level with a long time duration (hold) in the subsequent step. The current profile can be shaped by swithcing an injector driving power source with the peak and hold waves. The capture, compare and PWM (CCP) pin in the microprocessor was used to generate the combined peak and hold waves. The PWM square wave generated from the CCP pin has a duty ratio of 100% for the peak current and 10% or 30% for the hold pattern. Five patterns of the current profile were generated by combining the peak and hold wave. The common rail pressure is controlled at 75, 100, and 130 MPa. As the fuel rail pressure increases, the variations of the measured fuel injection pressure wave according to the current profiles decrease.

유기 물질을 사용한 구리박막의 건식 식각에 대한 헥사플루오로이소프로판올 첨가의 영향 (Effect of Hexafluoroisopropanol Addition on Dry Etching of Cu Thin Films Using Organic Material)

  • Dry etching of copper thin films is performed using high density plasma of ethylenediamine (EDA)/hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP)/Ar gas mixture. The etch rates, etch selectivities and etch profiles of the copper thin films are improved by adding HFIP to EDA/Ar gas. As the EDA/HFIP concentration in EDA/HFIP/Ar increases, the etch rate of copper thin films decreases, whereas the etch profile is improved. In the EDA/HFIP/Ar gas mixture, the optimal ratio of EDA to HFIP is investigated. In addition, the etch parameters including ICP source power, dc-bias voltage, process pressure are varied to examine the etch characteristics. Optical emission spectroscopy results show that among all species, [CH], [CN] and [H] are the main species in the EDA/HFIP/Ar plasma. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results indicate the formation of CuCN compound and C-N-H-containing polymers during the etching process, leading to a good etch profile. Finally, anisotropic etch profiles of the copper thin films patterned with 150 nm scale are obtained in EDA/HFIP/Ar gas mixture.

자동차 엔진 밸브트레인의 타음감소를 위한 캠 형상 설계 (Cam Profile Design for Impulsive Noise Reduction of Automotive Engine Valve Train)

  • Valve train is one of the important noise sources in idling engines. Valve train noise comes mostly from two different impacts. One is the impact between cam and tappet at the beginning of the valve open period, which is an important source of impulsive noise of valve trains. The other is the impact between valve and valve seat at the closing of the valve open period. In case of mechanical lash adjusters, it is very difficult to control the initial impact. In this paper, we designed various types of cam profiles, especially in the opening ramp design, and investigated the effect of cam profiles on the magnitude of the initial impact. The effects that some cam design parameters have on the impulsive noise are also observed.

A Spread Spectrum Clock Generator for SATA II with Rounded Hershey-Kiss Modulation Profile

  • A spread spectrum clock generation is an efficient way to reduce electro-magnetic interference (EMI) radiation in modern mixed signal chip systems. The proposed circuit generates the spread spectrum clock by directly injecting the modulation voltage into the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) current source for SATA II. The resulting 33KHz modulation profile has a Hersey-Kiss shape with a rounded peak. The chip has been fabricated using $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process and test results show that the proposed circuit achieves 0.509% (5090ppm) down spreading at 1.5GHz and peak power reduction of 10dB. The active chip area is 0.36mm ${\times}$ 0.49mm and the chip consumes 30mW power at 1.5GHz.

Period study of 1RXS J062518.2+733433 from the X-ray and optical data

  • 1RXS J062518.2+733433. The X-ray data was obtained in April 6, 2006 with the XMM-Newton and the optical data with CCD R filter at the 1m telescope of the Lemonsan observatory in 2005-2006 for 11 nights. This source is classified as a magnetic cataclysmic variable with a spin period of 1187.3 s in the optical region. We determine the spin period to be $1187.26\pm0.11$ s using the X-ray data, which is well consistent with the optical studies. However, we find that the pulse profile of the data (0.2-10 keV) folded at the period is different from the quasi-sinusoidal optical profile and is dependent on the selected X-ray energy bands. The results of period searching with times of extrema will be also presented.

인간동력 항공기 개발 고찰 (Review on the Human Powered Aircraft Development)

  • Human powered aircraft (HPA) is an airplane that uses only human power for its propulsion. It's development is completely different from conventional aircraft that use fuels as a power source. In the present study, special features for the development of HPA are discussed by studying the design requirements, weight estimation, aerodynamics and propulsion studies, power analysis, and mossion profile design. It is found that the development of the HPA is completely different from conventional aircraft. Mission profile is crucial to the successful flight of the sport HPA when the pilots are changed.
