고선량 Ir-192선원 교정기의 제작 및 특성 (High Dose Rate Ir-192 Source Calibration Method with Newly Designed Calibration Jig)

  • Authors have developed highly reproducible calibration method for the Micro-Selectron HDR Ir-192 system (Nucletron, Motherland). The new jig has a 10cm radius circular hole in the $30cm{\times}30cm{\times}0.2cm$ acrylic plate, and 5F flexible bronchial tubes are attached around the hole. The source moves along the circle in the tubes and the ionization chamber is placed verticaly at the center of the circular hole (center of the jig). Dose distribution near the center was derived theoretically, and measured with the film dosimetry system. Theoretical calculation and measurement show the error margin below $0.1\%$ for 1mm or 2mm position deviation. We have measured at 12 and 24 points of circle with 1, 6, 11 and 21 second dwell time of source in order to calculate the activity of the source. Measurements have been repeated daily for 50 days. The accuracy and the reproducibility are below $1\%$ error margin. The half life of the source from our measurement is estimated $73.4\pm0.4$ days.

  • This study conducted wide-tank experiments and numerical calculations for a vessel in various positions such as upright and inclined by 2 and 4 degrees, with the goal of investigating the motion amplitude response of a small damaged fishing boat subject to a beam sea. Numerical calculations were conducted based on the three-dimensional source distribution method. The good agreement of the numerical calculation and experimental results confirmed that the present calculation method can be efficiently used for the initial design of a small fishing boat. In addition, while the chine-line type has been frequently adopted to improve a ship's resistance performance in the design of a small fishing boat, it is considered that the possibility of a deterioration in rolling performance should be thoroughly considered.

  • In general, the unidirectional power flow is normal in distribution feeders before activation of distributed power source such as PV. However, the interactive power flow is likely to occur in case of the power system under distributed generation. This interactive power flow can cause an unexpected effect on convectional protection coordination systems designed based only on the unidirectional power flow system. When the power line system encounters a problem, the interactive power flow can be a contributed current source and this makes the fault current bigger or smaller compared to the unidirectional case. The effect of interactive power flow is varied depending on the location of the point to ground fault, relative location of the PV, and connection method. Therefore it is important to analyse characteristics of fault current and interactive flow for various transformer connection and location of the PV. This paper proposes a method of improved protection coordination which can be adopted in the protective device for customers in distribution feeders interconnected with the PV. The proposed method is simulated and analysed using PSCAD/EMTDC under various conditions.

PCB 파원이 내장된 금속 함체의 공진 특성 해석 (Analysis of Resonant Characteristics for a Metallic Shielding Enclosure with a PCB Source)

  • 본 논문에서는 함체 내부의 PCB에 있는 트레이스 파원에 의한 함체의 공진 특성 해석법을 제안하고 있다. 함체 내부의 전자계를 계산하기 위해 PCB 트레이스에 형성되는 전류 분포 및 PCB 유전체의 경계면에서 만족하는 경계면 전계 분포에 관한 연립 적분방정식을 유도하였으며, 연립 적분방정식의 해는 Galerkin의 모멘트 법으로 구하고 있다. 그 결과, 함체의 공진 특성은 실험 결과 및 HFSS 툴에 의한 시뮬레이션 결과와도 잘 일치하고 있으며, 함체의 공진 주파수는 PCB 트레이스의 위치에 의해 달라진다는 것을 확인하고 있다. 이론 해석의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 반사 계수의 이론치를 측정치와도 비교하고 있다.

  • In this paper, the design sensitivity formula for the control of the transient temperature distribution is developed using the direct differentiation method, and used for the optimal design of induction heating coil position. The temperature distribution is calculated using the heat source of the induced eddy current and heat diffusion equation. The physical property variations of the workpiece depending on the temperature are considered. The eddy current distribution and the temperature distribution are calculated with the 2D finite element procedure. The adjoint variable technique is employed in expressing the design sensitivity. The goal of the design is to have the desired distribution of the temperature on a specific region of the sensitivity.   • A model for the distribution of stars in the disk and the spheroid of our Galaxy is reexamined from an edge-on view of the Galaxy obtained by selecting infrared sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog. The sources are counted as a function of galactic latitude. longitude and $12{\mu}m$ apparent magnitude. The source counts are reasonably separated into the disk component and the spheroid component contributions and each of the contributions is further interpreted as a convolution of a spatial density distribution and a luminosity function based on the least-square fit method. The spatial density of the disk component has an exponential radial scale length of $h_R{\sim}2.6\;kpc$ and the vertical distribution follows a canonical $sech^2$ law with a scale height $h_z{\sim}240\;pc$. The distribution of the spheroid component can be represented by an oblate spheriod with an axis ratio $k{\sim}0.61$ and a de Vaucouleurs' $r^{1/4}$ law with an effective radius of $R_e{\sim}120\;pc$. The steep density gradient of the spheroid component is consistent with that of late M giants in the central bulge. The luminosity functions of the disk and the spheroid component stars resemble respectively those of the K luminosity function of disk M giants (Garwood and Jones 1986) and the bolometric luminosity function of M giants in bulge fields (Frogel et al, 1990).

High accurate three-dimensional neutron noise simulator based on GFEM with unstructured hexahedral elements

  • The purpose of the present study is to develop the 3D static and noise simulator based on Galerkin Finite Element Method (GFEM) using the unstructured hexahedral elements. The 3D, 2G neutron diffusion and noise equations are discretized using the unstructured hexahedral by considering the linear approximation of the shape function in each element. The validation of the static calculation is performed via comparison between calculated results and reported data for the VVER-1000 benchmark problem. A sensitivity analysis of the calculation to the element type (unstructured hexahedral or tetrahedron elements) is done. Finally, the neutron noise calculation is performed for the neutron noise source of type of variable strength using the Green function technique. It is shown that the error reduction in the static calculation is considerable when the unstructured tetrahedron elements are replaced with the hexahedral ones. Since the neutron flux distribution and neutron multiplication factor are appeared in the neutron noise equation, the more accurate calculation of these parameters leads to obtaining the neutron noise distribution with high accuracy. The investigation of the changes of the neutron noise distribution in axial direction of the reactor core shows that the 3D neutron noise analysis is required instead of 2D.

영상처리기반 감마선원 거리탐지 고속화 및 가시화 연구 (The Visualization and the Fast Detection of Gamma Radiation Source using Stereo Image Processing)

  • 감마선 공간 탐지 장치는 감마선원을 스캔하여 영상화 한 후 스테레오 영상처리기술을 적용하여 탐지선원까지의 거리를 측정한다. 또한 실제 공간의 방사선원에 대한 분포 정보를 제공해 준다. 본 논문에서는 감마선 탐지장치가 3차원 공간상에서 장치로부터 선원을 찾기 위해 스캔하는 탐지 시간을 단축 시킬 수 있도록 감마선 탐지 고속화 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 그리고 감마선 조사 시험장에서 실험을 통해 그 성능을 검증하였다. 탐지시험 결과 고속 탐지를 위한 알고리즘을 적용할 경우 단일선원을 탐지할 경우 좌 우 스테레오 영상 획득 시보다 약 35% 의 탐지 시간을 단축시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 사용자에게 방사선 공간분포 정보를 효율적으로 전달하기 위한 감마선원 분포의 입체 가시화를 구현하여 방사선원에 대한 정보를 제공할 수 있도록 하였다.

Mathematical modeling of wind power estimation using multiple parameter Weibull distribution

  • Nowadays, wind energy is the most rapidly developing technology and energy source and it is reusable. Due to its cleanliness and reusability, there have been rapid developments made on transferring the wind energy systems to electric energy systems. Converting the wind energy to electrical energy can be done only with the wind turbines. So installing a wind turbine depends on the wind speed at that location. The expected wind power can be estimated using a perfect probability distribution. In this paper Weibull and Weibull distribution with multiple parameters has been used in deriving the mathematical expression for estimating the wind power. Statistically the parameters of Weibull and Weibull distribution are estimated using the maximum likelihood techniques. We derive a probability distribution for the power output of a wind turbine with given rated wind speeds for the regions where the wind speed histograms present a bimodal pdf and compute the first order moment of this distribution.

MCNP-polimi simulation for the compressed-sensing based reconstruction in a coded-aperture imaging CAI extended to partially-coded field-of-view

  • This paper deals with accurate image reconstruction of gamma camera using a coded-aperture mask based on pixel-type CsI(Tl) scintillator coupled with silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) array. Coded-aperture imaging (CAI) system typically has a smaller effective viewing angle than Compton camera. Thus, if the position of the gamma source to be searched is out of the fully-coded field-of-view (FCFOV) region of the CAI system, artifacts can be generated when the image is reconstructed by using the conventional cross-correlation (CC) method. In this work, we propose an effective method for more accurate reconstruction in CAI considering the source distribution of partially-coded field-of-view (PCFOV) in the reconstruction in attempt to overcome this drawback. We employed an iterative algorithm based on compressed-sensing (CS) and compared the reconstruction quality with that of the CC algorithm. Both algorithms were implemented and performed a systematic Monte Carlo simulation to demonstrate the possiblilty of the proposed method. The reconstructed image qualities were quantitatively evaluated in sense of the root mean square error (RMSE) and the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). Our simulation results indicate that the proposed method provides more accurate location information of the simulated gamma source than the CC-based method.
