  • 기존의 음향측심기는 복잡한 하드웨어 구조로 인해 크기와 중량이 큰 단점이 있었다. 이에 본 개발에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해 고속의 단일칩을 적용하여 단순구조의 하드웨어로 구성하였으며, 그 결과 장비의 크기 및 중량을 감소시킬 수 있었고 또 신호처리 기법을 적용하여 측정 데이터의 안정성을 획득 하였다.

공동주택 화재경보 발생음 특성에 관한 실험연구 (Experimental study on the sound attenuation of the fire alarm sounder system in apartment buildings)

  • In many fire emergencies, the audible fire alarm signals are very important to save the occupant's life. But as the sound insulation of building elements has been improved, it is more difficult for occupant to recognize the fire alarm signals when the fire alarm worked. This is the study to show the sound attenuation of the fire alarm sounder system in apartment buildings. We measured and analyzed the sound attenuation level in 17 units, and the results were compared with the minimum sound level at sleeping area by NFPA(National Fire Protection Association) 72. When only the fire alarm worked in stair hall, the sound levels in bedroom were in the range of $30.6{\sim}42.8dB(A)$ and the differences between sound level and ambient sound level in bedrooms were in the range of $7.1{\sim}13.8dB(A)$. And when the emergency broadcasting device in the livingroom and the fire alarm worked simultaneously, the sound levels in bedrooms were in the range of $54.2{\sim}63.0dBA$. Finally, it was showed that the fire alarm sounder system didn't give a sufficient sound level in bedroom to awake out of sleep.

어군탐지기를 이용한 인공어초 주변의 어군량 추정 (Estimation of Fish School Abundance by Using an Echo Sounder in an Artificial Reef Area)

  • The hydro-acoustic method is widely used for estimating biomass and distribution of fisheries resources along the coast and in the ocean. High costs and time are necessary to construct systems for this method and to initially educate specialists. It has been used in fisheries of advanced nations like Japan and Norway, because it is more efficient than other methods. In order to research the behavior of fish around an artificial reef using an echo sounder, volume backscattering strength (SV) and fish per cubic meter (FPCM) of darkbanded rockfish around the model artificial reef in a water tank were measured. Moreover, behavior of fish was observed in an adjacent artificial reef, which was constructed at Tongyeong marine ranching area. Following that, an acoustics survey was conducted at Mirukdo around the Tongyeong marine ranching area, in order to understand the spatial distribution and strength of fisheries resources. Very high patches of fish were found in a wide area around the artificial reef. It is thought that an approaching fish school around the artificial reef can be measured accurately by using an echo sounder of high resolution. Moreover, use of other monitoring methods like of diving or ROV simultaneous with an echo sounder is required in order to grasp the species and ecology of fish inhabiting the area around the artificial reef.

3차원 하상측량시스템 구현을 위한 GPS와 음향측심기 및 GIS의 조합 (Combination of GPS, Echo Sounder and GIS for Constructing 3D Riverbed Surveying System)

  • 본 연구에서는 실시간으로 하상 지형정보를 획득할 수 있는 3차원 하상측량시스템을 개발하였다. 실시간 동적 GPS와 음향측심기로가 조합된 이 시스템은 하상의 위치정보와 수심정보를 동시에 수집할 수 있다. 동시에 관측되는 GPS와 음향측심 관측데이터의 합성 및 변환프로그램을 작성하여 하상의 3차원 좌표를 생성하고 GIS 데이터베이스를 효율적으로 구축할 수 있도록 하였다. 시험관측을 통해 구축된 자료들로부터 GIS 프로그램을 이용하여 하저지형에 대한 3차원 TIN정보 및 수치표고모형(DEM)을 추출하였으며, 하천측량에 필수적인 단면자료를 산출할 수 있었다. 본 시스템에 의한 관측자료를 토털스테이션과 스태프 등 종래의 측량방법에 의한 성과와 비교한 결과, RMSE 0.069m의 정확도를 검증할 수 있었다. 개발된 시스템은 하천, 해양은 물론 댐이나 저수지 등의 수자원 관리를 위한 여러가지 조사에 효율적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

보간기법에 따른 해저지형의 정확도 분석 (An Analysis of Accuracy for Submarine Topographic Information by Interpolation Method)

  • Three-dimensional information of submarine topography was acquired by assembling DGPS and Echo Sounder, which is mainly used in the marine survey. However, the features of submarine topography, derived according to mechanical data, were confirmed using human eyes. Because the dredging capacity using a submarine surveying data influences harbor public affairs, analysis and the process method of surveying data is a very special element in construction costs. In this study, information on submarine topography is acquired by assembling DGPS and Echo Sounder. Moreover, the dredging capacity in harbor public affairs has been analyzed by the interpolation method: inverse distance to a power, kriging, minimum curvature, nearest neighbor, and radial basis function. Also, utilization of DGPS and Echo Sounder method in calculation of the dredging capacity have been confirmed by comparing and analyzing the dredging capacity and the actual one, as per each interpolation. According to this comparison result, in the case of applying Radial basis function interpolation and Kriging, 3.94 % and 4.61 % of error rates have been shown, respectively. In the case of the study for application of the proper interpolation, as per characteristics of submarine topography, is preceded in calculation of the dredging capacity relevant to harbor public affairs, it is expected that more speedy and correct calculation for the dredging capacity can be made.

시주파수 표현법을 이용한 소리신호의 분석 (Sound Signal Analysis Using the Time-Frequency Representations)

  • 시주파수 표현법은 시간과 주파수의 2차원 평면에 대하여 신호의 크기 혹은 에너지 밀도의 분포를 표현하는 방법이다. 이러한 기술은 시변 신호(Time-varying signal)의 특성 분석에 유용하다. 연주음은 대표적인 시변신호이며 특성 분석을 위하여 시주파수 표현법을 사용할 수 있다. 최근 악기에 사운더를 부착하여 음질을 변화시키는 작업이 주목 받고 있다. 비교적 저렴한 비용을 지불하고 음질을 변화시켜 주관적인 평가를 개선하려는 시도로 시행되고 있다. 이러한 연주신호는 시간영역에서는 사운더가 없는 악기 원형으로 연주한 경우와 차이점을 찾기가 어렵지만 주파수 영역, 그리고 시간-주파수 영역에서 분석하면 차이점을 쉽게 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 사운더를 부착한 악기의 연주신호를 주파수 영역에서 분석하여 사운더의 효과를 확인하고 더 나아가 시주파수 표현법을 활용하여 사운더의 영향을 분석한다. 악기에 따라 사운더의 효과는 다르지만 대체로 인간의 주관적인 평가에 영향을 주는 중간주파수대에서 강화된 효과를 확인할 수 있다.

  • 음향은 수중에서 원거리 전파가 가능하여 수심 측량, 수중 물체 탐지, 수중 통신, 유속 측정 등 다방면에서 해양관측에 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 해저면 계류형태의 압력측정 전도음향측심기(Pressure-recording Inverted Echo Sounder, PIES)를 활용하여 관측 가능한 해양물리현상(해류, 중규모 소용돌이, 내부파, 해면고도변화 등)에 대해 서술한다. 이어서 PIES장비 회수 없이 음향을 활용한 원격 자료획득법, 자동 자료전송 팝업 부표(Pop-up Data Shuttle, PDS)를 활용한 최신의 원격 자동자료획득법을 소개하고, 향후 실현 가능한 (준)실시간 원격 자동자료획득법을 덧붙인다.

Validation of the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder Water Vapor Retrievals Using Global Positioning System: Case Study in South Korea

  • The atmospheric infrared sounder (AIRS) sensor loaded on the Aqua satellite observes the global vertical structure of atmosphere and enables verification of the water vapor distribution over the entire area of South Korea. In this study, we performed a comparative analysis of the accuracy of the total precipitable water (TPW) provided as the AIRS level 2 standard retrieval product by Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) over the South Korean area using the global positioning system (GPS) TPW data. The analysis TPW for the period of one year in 2008 showed that the accuracy of the data produced by the combination of the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit sensor with the AIRS sensor to correct the effect of clouds (AIRS-X) was higher than that of the AIRS IR-only data (AIRS-I). The annual means of the root mean square error with reference to the GPS data were 5.2 kg/$m^2$ and 4.3 kg/$m^2$ for AIRS-I and AIRS-X, respectively. The accuracy of AIRS-X was higher in summer than in winter while measurement values of AIRS-I and AIRS-X were lower than those of GPS TPW to some extent.

An Angular Independent Backscattered Amplitude Imagery of Multi-Beam Echo Sounder for Sediment Boundary Extraction

  • The National Oceanographic Research Institute of KOREA started to survey for the basic data necessary to territorial sea and EEZ identification and marine development with Multi-Beam Echo Sounder(L3 SeaBeam 2112) since 1996. The Multi-Beam surveys has provided a very new and precise way of describing the morphology and nature of the underwater seabed. Multi-Beam Echo Sounder systems employ sound waves propagating at angles which vary from vertical to nearly horizontal. The locations on the bottom where echoes are generated cover a swath whose port to starboard width may be equal to many times the water depth. Newer Multi-beam bathymetric sonars provide both a beam by beam depth and backscatter amplitude of the bottom. But The backscattered amplitude didn't use for identification of bottom properties because backscatter amplitude effects by the many environmental variables of underwater and seabed. We investigates the utilization of geo-referenced backscatter amplitude and analysis of relationship between The Backscattered Amplitude and Sidescan Sonar imagery from Sea Beam 2112. For the backscattered amplitude imagery mainly represents the properties of sediment, we computed the beam geometry, time-varied amplifier gain, and mainly incidence angle to the topography using bathymetric model at each ping. In this paper, those issues are illustrated, and the angular independent imagery based on swath topographic model is described.

A Study on the Coast Topography using Real-Time Kinematics GPS and Echo Sounder

  • This research aims at investigation of accuracy potential of RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) GPS in combination with Echo Sounder(E/S) for the coastal mapping. Apart from this purpose, the accuracy of ambiguity resolution with the OTF(On The Fly) method was tested with respect to the initialization time. The result shows that the accuracy is better than 1cm with 5-minute initialization in the distance of 10km baseline. The seaside topography was measured by the RTK GPS only, on the other hand the seafloor topography was surveyed in combination of RTK GPS and E/S. Comparing to the volume of seaside measured by RTK GPS and digital topographical map, the difference of only 2% was achieved. This indicates that the coastal mapping. As a result, it has been revealed that every possible noise in surveying could be corrected and the accuracy could be improved. The accuracy of GPS data acquired in real time was as good as that acquired by post processing. It is expected that it will be useful for the analysis of coastal geographic characteristics because DTM(Digital Terrain Model) can be also constructed for the harbor reclamation, the dredging, and the variation of soil movement in a river.
