  • The effect of organic solvent mixture ratio on the rheology property of slurry and thickness control of ceramic green sheet was investigated. For selecting a suitable dispersant multiple light scattering method was used to evaluate the particle migration velocity and variation of clarification layer thickness. Using the selected dispersant the dispersion property of solution according to solvent mixture ratio was investigated. Binder and plasticizers were added to formulate slurries and their viscosity was evaluated according to solvent mixture ratio. Ceramic green sheets with average thickness of 30, 50 urn were fabricated via tape casting and their thickness tolerances measured. As a result according to solvent mixture ratio the solution and slurry properties varied and for the mixture ratio of ethanol/toluene of 80/20 the ceramic green sheet with the lowest thickness tolerance was obtained.

  • Numerical solution of thermal stress by CAE analysis could be an effective method in product development stage of castings to predict and treat the problem of solidification cracking of castings. Quantitative stress-strain data are necessary, in this case. Tension type apparatus of a solidification crack test which can measure stress-strain relationship quantitatively was developed and the test procedure was established by this research. Solidification crack strength obtained from the following test procedure could be utilized to evaluate it in terms of effect factors on thermo-plastic characteristic of solidifying alloy such as grain size of solid, grain morphology, distribution of solid grain, etc. Proposed test procedure is as follow: Prediction of temperature at the failure site of solidification cracked specimen by computer simulation of solidification, Calculation of solid fraction of the failure site from thermodynamic solution of solidification under Scheil condition.

  • Sulfonated Polyetherimide 막은 pore 형성을 위한 polyvinylpyrrolidone 과 저비점 용매 dichloromethane을 첨가하여 투과성능을 최적할 수 있었다. SPEL 막의 친수성은 단백질등의 투과시 모든 pH 범위에서 막 오염을 효과적으로 억제할 수 있으며, 도입된 sulfonic acid group의 음이온성으로 인하여 동일한 전하의 용질을 쉽게 분리할 수 있었다.

  • In order to investigate the effects of crystal structure in electrical breakdown of polyethylene film. Low molecular materials in polyethylene are removed by the method as follow. Polyethylene was dissolved in xylene and filtered through a glass fiber filter. And then, a polyethylene thin films of thickness $0.5 - 0.9{\mu}m$ are prepared with heat treatment from solution casting. To evaluate the performance of PE film, Electrical breakdown of PE film are measured on M( Al) - I (PE)-M(Al) system.

Effect of Poly(vinyl alcohol) on the Thermally Induced Conformational Change of Poly(D-Glutamic acid)

  • In relation to denaturation of proteins, thermally induced conformational change of poly(D-glutamic acid) was studied in the presence of poly(vinyl alcohol) at low pH, where poly(D-glutamic acid) undergoes a helix-to-${\beta}$ transition without any other polymer. In a dilute solution, poly(vinyl alcohol) enhanced the ${\alpah}-to-{\beta}_1$ transition of poly(D-glutamic acid) due to intermolecular interaction between the two polymers. On the other hand, this conformational change was interrupted to a large extent in a concentrated solution, due to the interpenetration of poly(vinyl alcohol) chain into poly(D-glutamic acid) chain which prevented the intramolecular association of poly(D-glutamic acid) chain. A conformational change from ${\beta}_1\;to\;{\beta}_2$ of poly(D-glutamic acid) was observed for the films obtained by casting during annealing the mixture solutions. The ${\beta}_2$ content in the cast film increased with increasing poly(vinyl alcohol) content in the mixture.

  • This study successfully developed a chromium-free paper-based analytical device (µPAD) for chloride detection in fresh concrete. The sensing materials were chemically synthesized and coated to the paper through drop casting. The fabricated µPAD was thoroughly tested with various concentrations of chloride ions. Upon interaction with the µPAD, the chloride ions in the solution react with a chromium-free silver compound, exhibiting a specific coloring height proportional to the absolute chloride concentration. The height of the color change during a reaction can vary based on the chloride concentration, which allows for predicting the chloride concentration in a solution. The results reveal that µPAD has extraordinary precision in identifying chloride in fresh concrete, which highlights its immense potential for future applications.

  • 폴리술폰 고분자는 비대칭 정밀여과 멤브레인 제조에 가장 널리 사용되는 고분자 소재이다. 폴리술폰 멤브레인은 소수성 특성으로 인하여 공정상에서 빠른 막오염이 일어난다. 고분자 블렌딩은 폴리술폰 멤브레인의 수명을 향상시키는데 있어 가장 간단하고 효과적인 방법이다. sPES는 폴리술폰 블렌딩 방법을 통하여 소수성을 해결할 수 있는 유용한 친수성 고분자이다. 본 연구에서는 PSF/sPES/DMF/PVP/BE 고분자 용액을 물에 침지시켜 정밀여과 멤브레인을 제조하였다. 캐스팅 용액에 소량의 sPES 첨가함으로써 정밀여과 멤브레인 구조 변화를 볼 수 있었다. sPES의 첨가는 높은 비대칭성과 활성층의 성장, 그리고 평균 기공 크기의 감소를 가져왔다. 하지만 수투과량은 PSF/sPES/DMF/PVP/BE로 만든 멤브레인이 PSF/DMF/PVP/BE로 만든 멤브레인에 비해 더 큰 값을 보였다.

폴리이서설폰 비대칭 기체분리막의 제조와 분리성능 (Preparation of Asymmetric Polyethersulfone Membrane and its Gas Separation Performance)

  • 건/습식 상전환법을 이용하여 비대칭 polyethersulfone (PES) 기체분리막을 제조하였으며, $CO_2$, $N_2$등의 기체에 대한 투과특성을 조사하였다. 분리막 제조에 있어서 주요 변수인 캐스팅 용액과 증발시간 등이 분리막의 구조에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 투과특성을 조사하여 최적의 제조조건을 확립하였다. 또한 제조된 분리막의 표피층에 존재하는 pin-hole과 같은 결점을 보완하기 위하여 실리콘 수지를 코팅하여 그 투과특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 실리콘 수지 코팅이 결점을 보완하는데 효과적임을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 분리막 제조에 주로 사용한 캐스팅 용액은 PES, 14-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, 아세톤, 에탄올로 구성되었으며, 응고제로는 증류수를 사용하였다. 캐스팅 용액 중의 PES 함량이 높아질수록, 휘발성 유기용매의 비율이 높아질수록, 증발시간이 길수록, 에탄을 첨가제의 농도가 낮을수록 $CO_2$/$N_2$의 선택도는 높아지고 투과도는 낮아지는 결과를 보였다. 최적의 분리막 제조조건 하에서 얻어진 분리막의 분리성능은 $CO_2$/$N_2$의 선택도가 61이고 $CO_2$의 투과도는 21 GPU인 우수한 결과를 보였다.

시판치과주조용 고금합금의 물리적 성질 및 상변태 (Physical Property and Phase Transformation in a Commercial Dental Casting High Gold Alloy)

  • The physical property and phase transformation in a commercial dental casting high gold alloy was investigated as a function of ageing temperature and time using microvickers hardness tester, X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy and EPMA analyser. 1. With increasing ageing time, the hardness of solution-treated gold alloys increased slowly at the initial stage of ageing treatment at an ageing temperature of $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, and it reached a maximum value of hardness at the medium stage. Finally, it decreased gradually during further ageing. The maximum value of hardness at was similar with that of the conventional materials and suitable for using as the crown & bridge. 2. During isothermal ageing at a temperature range of $300{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, three phases consisting of the Au-rich ${\alpha}_1$phase with a face-centered cubic structure, the Pt3Zn ${\alpha}_2$phase with an ordered AuCu3(L12) type(f.c.c.) and the Pt-rich ${\alpha}_3$phase with face-centered cubic structure in solution-treated gold alloys were transformed into different three phases consisting of the ${\alpha}_1$phase, the ${\alpha}_3$phase and the PtZn $\beta$phase with an ordered AuCu I(L10) type. 3. The hardening of gold alloys was attributed to the lattice strains of the matrix resulting from the transformation of the ${\alpha}_2$phase to the $\beta$phase. 4. The softening of gold alloys during over-ageing was attributed to the coarsening of the nodules consisting of the $\beta$phase and ${\alpha}_1$matrix.

베릴륨 불포함 치과 주조용 니켈-크롬 합금 중 금속의치상용 합금과 금속소부도재관용 합금의 부식에 관한연구 (Corrosion of the non-beryllium dental casting Ni-Cr alloys for the denture base framework metal and the porcelain-fused-to-metal crown)

  • Purpose: This study examined the corrosion level by alloy type and pH, and used the corrosion levels as the dental health data. The study utilized one Ni-Cr alloy for the full and removable partial denture metal frameworks and two Ni-Cr alloys for porcelain-fused-to-metal crown, among the non-beryllium dental casting non-precious Ni-Cr alloys. Methods: The alloy specimens were manufactured in $10cm^2$ and stored in the corrosive solution(pH 2.2-4.4) in the electrical water bath($37^{\circ}C$) for seven days. Afterwards, the metal ions were quantitatively analyzed using the ICP. Results: Of the three metal alloys, Bellabond-Plus$^{(R)}$alloy and SOLIBOND N$^{(R)}$alloy, with 22% or higher chrome chemical contents, had higher corrosion resistance than Jdium-100$^{(R)}$alloy with 20% chrome chemical content. In all three alloys, the corrosion of Ni was highest, and metal ion corrosion was higher in the pH 2.2 corrosive solution. Conclusion: Although Ni-Cr alloy was not very corrosive, a Ni-allergic patient should not have Ni-Cr alloy prosthesis. The Ni-Cr alloy for porcelain-fused-to-metal crown should be designed for the dental porcelain to cover the whole crown.
