Antioxidative Components from the Aerial Parts of Lactuca scariola L.

  • The antioxidant activity of Lactuca scariola (Compositae) was investigated by measuring the radical scavenging effect on DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical. The methanolic extract of the aerial parts of Lactuca scariola showed strong radical scavenging activity. The EtOAc soluble fraction exhibited a stronger activity than the others, and was purified by silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. Quercetin-3-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, luteolin-7-O-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, luteolin, quercetin and kaempferol, together with 11$\beta$,13-dihydrolactucin were isolated from the EtOAc soluble fraction as active ingredients.

  • Mass culture of microalgae as feed for mollusc, crustaceans and fish is an important components of the mariculture industry (Metting Jr., 1996) Growth activator for tetraselmis suecica were screened in methanol and water soluble extracts of several seaweed tissues. Also examined in this study were change in growth rate, biochemical composition, and digestion efficiency, of T.suecica cultured with and without the most effective of these extracts, the water soluble component extracted form M. nitidium. 들기름의 산화방지 성분 분리에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Isolation of Antioxidative Components of Perilla Oil)

  • 들깨와 들깨 증자를 $25{\sim}28^{\circ}C$ 에서 $2{\sim}3$일간 발아시켜 얻은 발아들깨로부터 n-hexane으로 들기름을 추출한 후 이들 2종류의 틀기름에 함유되어 있는 산화방지 성분을분리하고, 발아에 외한 산화방지 성분의 함량 변화가 틀기름의 산화안정성에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 들기름을 acetone 및 methanol에 용해시켜 동결처리한 다음 분리된 불용성 획분의 산화안정성을 측정한 결과 들기름에 존재하는 산화방지성 물질은 methanol에 용해성이 강한 성분임을 확인하였다. 들기름에서 분리된 methanol 가용성 획분을 silica gel column chmmato-graphy로 분획하여 산화방지 활성을 검정한 결과 n-hexane : ethyl acetate의 비가 7 : 3인 획분에서 가장 높은 산화방지 활성을 나타내었다. 산화방지 활성이 가장 높았던 획분을 TLC로 분리한 결과 3개의 band가 확인되었다. 이중 $R_f$치 0.71인 band핀가 가장 높은 산화방지 활성을 나타내었으며 이 band에 존재하는 산화방지 성분은 phenol성 화합물로 추청되었다. TLC에 의하여 분리된 산화방저 성분을 다시 HPLC에 의하여 분러한 결과HPLC chromatogram상에서 4가지 활성물질 peak가 분리되었다. 이들 peak중 들깨에서는 P 1, P 2의 함량이 각각 46.5%, 25.6%이었고 P 3의 함량은 22.6%이었으나, 발아들깨에서는 P 1, P 2의 함량이 각각43.8%, 20.6%로 약간 감소한 반면 P 3 함량은 29.8%로 상당량 중가하였다. 이와 같이 HPLC 분석에서 분리된 4가지 peak중 발아에 의해 P 1, P 2의 활성물질 함량은 상대적으로 감소하고 P 3의 활성물질 함량은 증가하는 것으로 보아 이들 물질외 함량 변화에 의해서도 들깨 및 발아들깨로부터 추출한 들기름의 산화안정성이 다르게 나라나는것으로 추청되었다.

홍삼 페놀성 성분의 GC/MS분석 (Analysis of Phenolic Components in Korean Red Ginseng by GC/MS)

  • To Identify phenolic components known to exist in Korean ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) by GC/MS, three derivatization methods were employed for their analyses. First, phenolic components in ether soluble acidic fraction prepared from Korean red ginseng powder were taimethylsilylated. Secondly, phenolic acids in the same fraction were esterified with diazomethane followed by trlmethylsilylation. Thirdly, acidic components in ginseng powder were extracted and esterified concurrently by methanolic sulfuric acid, followed by fractionation of phenolic components with Silica Sep-Paka and trimethylsilylatlon. All phenolic components found in ginseng except gen tisic acid were identified by retention times and mass spectrums of standards. Besides, 5 phenolic components including salicyl alcohol and 1-H-indole-2-carboxylic acid were first identified from Korea an red ginseng by GC/MS.

토마토 과실의 성숙중 세포벽 구성다당류의 변화 (Changes of Sugar Components in Cell Wall Polysaccharides from Tomato Fruits during Ripening)

  • This study was conducted to understand the characteristics of fruit softening during ripening which causes deep loses in quality of horticultural products during storage and marketing process after harvest. The changes of cell wall components during ripening was investigated. The climacteric rise was between 42 and 49 days after anthesis and then decreased. Ethylene evolution was similar to respiration. The hardness of fruit decreased markedly at this climacteric period and significances of textural parameters among the ripening periods were recognized but the significance between 50 and 55 days after anthesis was not. Sugar components of cell wall polysaccharides were uronic acid, galactose, glucose, arabinose, xylose, rhamnose, mannose and fucose. The contents of arabinose and mannose in alcohol-insoluble solids fraction increased, but other sugars were not changed. In cell wall fraction, the contents of uronic acid, galactose, glucose and arabinose were comparatively high, but galactose, arabinose and ironic acid were decreased markedly during ripening. ironic acid occupied above 75% of total monosaccharide in pectin fraction and decreased markedly during ripening. In acid-soluble hemicellulose fraction, the contents of uronic acid, glucose, galactose and rhamnose were high and they decreased from 50 days after anthesis. The contents of glucose and xylose were high in a alkali-soluble hemicellulose fraction and they decreased markedly at 55days after anthesis.

부산 도심지역 대기중 입자상물질의 크기분포에 따른 수용성 이온성분의 특성 (Size Distribution Characteristics of Water-soluble Ionic Components in Airborne Particulate Matter in Busan)

  • This study was conducted to investigate size distribution characteristics of water-soluble ionic components in the airborne particulate matter (PM) collected from an urban area in Busan using a MOUDI cascade impactor from March to October 2010. The inorganic constituents in the fine particles (${\leq}1.8{\mu}m$) predominantly consisted of sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, and potassium. Sulfate and ammonium concentrations showed a high correlation and similar equivalent concentrations in the fine modes including $0.18{\sim}0.32{\mu}m$, $0.32{\sim}0.56{\mu}m$, and $0.56{\sim}1.0{\mu}m$. This indicates that the main chemical component in the fine particles would be forms of ammonium sulfate such as $(NH_4)_3H(SO_4)_2$, $(NH_4)_2SO_4$, and $(NH_4)HSO_4$. Back trajectory analysis showed that relatively higher concentrations of ammonium, nitrate, and sulfate in the fine mode, compared to the coarse mode, are caused both by domestic sources and long-range transports originated from China continent. High concentration episodes of PM both in the fine mode and the coarse mode were attributed both by anthropogenic sources, such as ship emissions and traffic emissions, and by natural sources such as seawater (sea salt), respectively.

대기오염 총침착물의 채취방법 표준화 개발에 관한 연구 -여과식 채취방법을 통한 총침착물의 공간분포 특성- (A Study on the Development of Standard Method of Total Deposition Sampling in Air Pollutants - Spatial Distribution of Total Deposition by the Filtration-Sampling Method -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate spatial distributions of total deposition. A total number 79 samples were collected at 17 sampling sites from September 1999 to January 2000. Total (=wet+dry) atmospheric depositions were collected by filtered deposition sampler at sampling site (the Western Part of Kyongsangnam Province). In addition, the deposition of soluble and insoluble fraction was also investigated to find a suitable simplified collection method for a long-term monitoring of total deposition. The total depositions were measured soluble amount(mm/month), insoluble amount(kg/km$^2$/month), pH, conductivity(E.C.) and eight ionic components. The spatial distribution of deposition flux was to estimated by using a kringing analysis. The 17 sites mean fluxes of water soluble ionic components; SO$_4$$\^$2-/, Cl$\^$-/, NO$_3$$\^$-/, Na$\^$+/, NH$_4$$\^$+/, K$\^$+/, Mg$\^$2+/, Ca$\^$2+/ were 100.7∼315.6kg/km$^2$/month, 30.1∼234.3kg/km$^2$/month, 64.4∼ 139.4kg/km$^2$/month, 7.5∼68.3kg/km$^2$/month, 10.7∼48.7kg/km$^2$/month, 5.6∼27.9kg/km$^2$/month, 4.5∼17.5kg/km$^2$/month, 27.6∼81.7kg/km$^2$/month, respectively.

여과식 채취방법에 의한 대기오염 총침착물의 특성 -석탄화력발전소 주변지역을 중심으로- (Characteristics of Total Atmospheric Deposition by the Filtration-Sampling Method at Coal-Fired Power Plant Area)

  • Total(=wet+dry) atmospheric depositions were collected by filtration-sampling method at 17 sampling sites of the coal-fired power plant area from September 1999 to January 2000. The soluble and insoluble fractions of deposition were also measured to investigate a suitability of simplified collection method for a long-term monitoring of total deposition. In the study, the 50% of sampled soluble fractions showed the electric conductivity (E.C.) of below 50 $\mu$S/cm and the 42% of them showed the lower pH than 5.0. The monthly mean fluxes of water soluble ionic components; S $O_4$$^{2-}$, C $l^{[-10]}$ , N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ , N $a^{+}$, N $H_4$$^{+}$, $K^{+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$ were 168.4 kg/k $m^2$.month, 100.5 kg/k $m^2$.month, 88.6kg/k $m^2$.month, 31.3kg/k $m^2$.month, 25.6 kg/k $m^2$.month, 13.3 kg/k $m^2$.month, 8.7 kg/k $m^2$.month, 43.1kg/k $m^2$.month, respectively. The mean ionic concentration of all sample(n=79) was 314 $\mu$eq/ι, with contributions of 24.2% and 23.0% by [nss-C $a^{2+}$] and [nss-S $O_4$$^{2-}$]. The ratio of [N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ ]/[nss-S $O_4$$^{2-}$] and [N $H_4$-C $a^{2+}$] were found to be 0.52 and 0.68, respectively.espectively.
