  • The seismic sequence which hit the Northern Italian territory in 2012 produced extensive damage to reinforced concrete (RC) precast buildings typically adopted as industrial facilities. The considered damaged buildings are constituted by one-storey precast structures with RC columns connected to the ground by means of isolated socket foundations. The roof structural layout is composed of pre-stressed RC beams supporting pre-stressed RC floor elements, both designed as simply supported beams. The observed damage pattern, already highlighted in previous earthquakes, is mainly related to insufficient connection strength and ductility or to the absence of mechanical devices, being the connections designed neglecting seismic loads or neglecting displacement and rotation compatibility between adjacent elements. Following the vulnerabilities emerged in past seismic events, the paper investigates the seismic performance of industrial facilities typical of the Italian territory. The European building code seismic assessment methodologies are presented and discussed, as well as the retrofit interventions required to achieve an appropriate level of seismic capacity. The assessment procedure and retrofit solutions are applied to a selected case study.

  • Recent advancements in wireless networks have enabled support for mobile applications to transfer data over heterogeneous wireless paths in parallel using data striping technique [2]. Traditionally, high performance data transfer requires tuning of multiple TCP sockets, at sender's end, based on bandwidth delay product (BDP). Moreover, traditional techniques like Automatic TCP Buffer Tuning (ATBT), which balance memory and fulfill network demand, is designed for wired infrastructure assuming single flow on a single socket. Hence, in this paper we propose a buffer tuning technique at senders end designed to ensure high performance data transfer by striping data at transport layer across heterogeneous wireless paths. Our mechanism has the capability to become a resource management system for transport layer connections running on multi-homed mobile host supporting features for wireless link i.e. mobility, bandwidth fluctuations, link level losses. We show that our proposed mechanism performs better than ATBT, in efficiently utilizing memory and achieving aggregate throughput.

  • Other server based-application and the need of more complex interaction is required with functional strengthening and variational uses of mobile device. And mobile environments make a problem of continuous of web-service by making a problem of instance cutting between web-server and mobile device which acts as a client because of mobility. Therefore, this paper embodies a framework which keeps security and connectivity between HTTP based web-service and mobile device, and is for connection to web-service of mobile device which uses WAP in a standard protocol based mobile environment of mobile web-service for continuous web-service. This paper is analyzed in the same standard condition to compared functional delay which is based on HTTP and WAP access, and data transmission volume. Also it investigates improvement of execution overhead which is brought by interaction process.

  • Presentation is the form of communication to draw out audience's behaviors in a limited time. The importance of presentation is emphasized over time. So speaker uses various remote toola. Therefor, in this paper, the remote control system for presentation using mobile network was proposed. The existing remote control applications has error on network connection, and are difficult to use without description for use. This system was designed and implemented to compensate the defect of the existing system. The system we have will connect PC and smartphones through socket to communication with TCP, which is connection-oriented transport service. It is made for users to select the files from the list of sent files and operate the process of presentation.

  • In this paper, which sees the Strong-ARM SA1110 it used the main CPU and RTP in VoIP system. It will be able to apply the information communication field it embodied. It used the Tynux_box2 with the hardware side and it composed a VOIP system. And it used the RTP which is a real-time protocol in software control portion. The development environment of the paper that used the Target board and a Linux PC for connection used the RS-232C, USB connection, Ethernet LAN. The VoIP the environment for a communication used the wave file in the substitution which changes analog signal with the digital signal. And For the communication of the both sides it used the socket. This paper explained the fact that against a general technique from the operation of VoIP system. Using the Embedded linux development board which explained an operational process of the RTP protocol.

  • The biocompatibility and durability of implant fixtures are major concerns for dentists and patients. Mechanical complications of the implant include abutment screw loosening, screw fracture, loss of implant prostheses, and implant fracture. This case report aims to describe management of a case of fixture damage that occurred after screw fracture in a tissue level, internal connection implant and microscopic evaluation of the fractured fixture. A trephine bur was used to remove the fixture, and the socket was grafted using allogeneic bone material. The failed implant was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), which revealed a fractured fixture with both normal and irregular bone patterns. The SEM and EDS results give an enlightenment of the failed fixture surface micromorphology with microfracture and contaminated chemical compositions. Noticeably, the significantly high level of gold (Au) on the implant surface and the trace amounts of Au and titanium (Ti) in the bone tissue were recorded, which might have resulted from instability and micro-movement of the implant-abutment connection over an extended period of time. Further study with larger number of patient and different types of implants is needed for further conclusion.

  • It is important to consider not only audio/video but presentation way, in video conferencing, seminar, lecture based network communication. The method to transmit image of a chalkboard used in traditional seminar, conference, lecture are one of difficulties for remote environment since it requires techniques high-resolution transmission and talking films. In this paper we implemented real-time multimedia shared board system for shared effective multimedia presentation using connection-oriented socket of TCP. In this system, decreasing cost of related system construction, improve of data reliableness and interaction, presentation delay time be able to minimize.

  • Statement of problem: Implant supported overdenture is accepted widely as a way to restore edentulous ridge providing better retention and support of dentures. Various types of attachment for overdenture have been developed. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of attachment type in implant overdentures on the biomechanical stress distribution in the surrounding bone, prosthesis and interface between implant and bone. Material and methods: Finite element analysis method was used. Average CT image of mandibular body(Digital $Korea^{(R)}$, KISTI, Korea) was used to produce a mandibular model. Overdentures were placed instead of mandibular teeth and 2mm of mucosa was inserted between the overdenture and mandible. Two implants($USII^{(R)}$, Osstem, Korea) were placed at both cuspid area and 4 types of overdenture were fabricated ; ball and socket, Locator, magnet and bar type. Load was applied on the from second premolar to second molar tooth area. 6 times of finite element analyses were performed according to the direction of the force $90^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$ and unilateral or bilateral force applied. The stress at interface between implants and bone, and prosthesis and the bone around implants ware compared using von Mises stress. The results were explained with color coded graphs based on the equivalent stress to distinguish the force distribution pattern and the site of maximum stress concentration. Results: Unilateral loading showed that connection area between implant fixture and bar generated maximum stress in bar type overdentures. Bar type produced 100 Mpa which means the most among 4 types of attachments. Bilateral loading, however, showed that bar type was more stable than other implants(magnet, ball and socket). 26 Mpa of bar type was about a half of other types on overdenture under $90^{\circ}$ bilateral loading. Conclusions: In any directions of stress, bar type was proved to be the most vulnerable type in both implants and overdentures. Interface stress did not show any significant difference in stress distribution pattern.
