The number of grandparents who have responsibility for raising their grandchildren is growing. The present study examines the extent of this phenomenon and some of the issues these grandparents face in surrogate parenting. The sample consists of 69 grandparents(63 grandmothers and 6 grandfathers) of grandchildren who have lived with them at least 6 months without their parents. The grandparents raising grandchildren reported that caregiving bought negative changes in relations with their own children, economic situation and health condition. They concerned most about the issue of good mannered behavior of grandchildren and making good friends and needed social supports in terms of house cleaning and cooking and transportation for after school activities. Caregiver burden was related to the number of family members, the degrees of life changes, economic hardship due to caregiving, grandchildren's school performance and the relations with granparents' own children.
The purposes of the study were to examine engineering students' concerns and problems while they were choosing a project topic in interdisciplinary collaboration and to suggest ways to support them in an early stage of collaboration phase. To answer the research questions, we conducted a case study with engineering participants in GCTI 2015, an interdisciplinary collaborative and creative group project. Multiple data sources including focus group interviews, online survey and researchers' observation notes were used to triangulate research findings. We found four main concerns of engineering students. These concerns include (1) lack of self-efficacy, (2) limited resources, (3) lack of shared, meaningful, and common goals, and (4) lack of content knowledge. Based on these concerns we proposed four supports in an early stage of the collaborative project. These supports includes (1) implementing an orientation program, (2) providing opportunities for social interactions, (3) providing expert feedback, and (4) providing consultation for team building.
Despite the high efficiency of nuclear power plant, people in Korea do not give approvals and supports the facilities because the risk of the accidents and incidents. In particular, the low level of safety culture is a crucial mechanism that damages the robustness of the NPP. By considering the various definitions of safety culture and analyzing the major reasons of incidents, the conceptual safety culture model is made by using Causal Loop Diagramming. For sustaining development of nuclear power, social supports, incentives and organizational learning are needed. It also requires the coordination of work schedules and the expansion of human resource for protecting the rules and procedures in NPP. Decommissioning aging nuclear power plants will prevent a serious accident. In order to promote the safety culture, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Corporation should disclose more information to the public and promote the internal and external communications.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of perceived social supports(PSS) in SNS on SNS interactions. In addition the present study aims to look for the effect of SNS interactions on the expected level of information authenticity perceived by information users. The results show that the effect of PSS on the desire for self-identity presentation is significant(Hypothesis 1 accepted). It also reveal that the desire for self-identity presentation positively affect SNS interactions (Hypothesis 2 accepted). And the effect of PSS on the SNS interactions is positively significant(Hypothesis 3 accepted). Finally, the degree of SNS interactions positively affect the expected level of information authenticity perceived by information users(Hypothesis 4 accepted). The significance of this study is to extend scope of research which is related with PSS. Especially, present study emphasize the difference between offline PSS and online PSS. And this study make clear the cause-and-effect relationship is at work between online PSS and SNS interactions, unlike preceding researches.

An SNS(Social Network Service) is an online service that supports an effective way to share information over virtual communities. Recently, as SNSs such as Twitter, Facebook, and Me2day are getting bigger, the purposes of using popular SNSs are expanded to broadcastings, politics, marketings and so on. In this paper, we propose an API to integrate and manage open APIs for various SNSs, presenting a library as an implementation of the proposed API. Also, utilizing the developed library, a smartphone application is provided which supports integrated management of popular SNSs and personal schedules. Using the library, developers can reduce costs when they need to implement specific functions for managing various SNSs. With the developed application, we can read and write to/from the related SNSs on same screen, automatically reminding our schedule and sharing the schedule with friends over the SNSs.
