This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between social support, social network and health behaviors as surveyed by cross-sectional study in 744 rural people aged above 30 of a community dwelling sample of one county for 6 days of July in 2000. Objectives of this study was in order to establish an effective health promotion. The sample was accrued by face to face interview of direct visiting from clustered sampling method. Interview was conducted by trained medical students with the questionnaire consisted of socio-demographic data, health behavior, social support and social network based on previous literature. The summarized results were as follows: 1. There were significant difference in the level of social support and social network by general characteristic variables except occupation and residency type(p〈0.05). 2. There were significant difference in knowledge about hypertension, smoking status, status of physical exercise, diet patterns by social support and social network in spite of variation of social support and social network subconcept(p〈0.05). And there were significant difference in alcohol drinking status, body weight control and diet pattern according to level of social network(p〈0.05). But smoking status by social support and network results opposite direction(p〈0.05). 3. There were no regular or consistent result in the relationship between social support, social network and health behavior. 4. Major predictors for health behavior on the multiple logistic regression that included general characteristic, social support and social network were age, instrumental social support and worry about health. Significant variables of multiple logistic regression for health behavior that included social support(instrumental and emotional) and social network were instrumental social support and social network. These results suggest that only a instrumental element and social network may be associated with health behavior. Inconsistent with prior research in these some item, a positive consistent relationship was not found between social support, social network and health behavior. So the study should be replicated to determined the reliability of our findings.

Although previous studies on social commerce have provided much insight, more studies in the perspective of social network are needed because social commerce happens within online communities or virtual groups, where buyers connect and interact with each other by sharing information. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate how transactive memory as network characteristic can affect social commerce behavior through social support and relationship quality. We verified the relational effect among social support, relationship quality, and social commerce intention in the Korean market context. Moreover, we found transactive memory capability also played an essential role in the field of social commerce. Specifically, we found consumer's transactive memory capability plays a significant moderating role in the relation between social support and relationship quality.
The purpose of this study is to find the factors of Social Network Games of continuous game flow and addiction. This study analyzes the significant factors of the addiction of SNGs from three categories. It also seeks to find out what relation between continuous game flow and addiction in SNGs. The model consists of three categories (SNG characteristic, User characteristic, and Environmental characteristic). The research model was conducted through the structural equation modeling(SEM) approach, and tested using 374 questionnaires. The results indicated that SNG characteristic(accessibility, enjoyment, feedback), User characteristic(self-control), Environmental characteristic(social interaction, subjective norm) have a positive effect on continuous game flow. The findings also that continuous game flow plays a moderation role that affects addiction. Finally, we discussed the research results and offered relevant suggestions for schools, firms, and future studies
Mobile phone carriers face challenges from three synergistic dimensions: Wireless, social, and mobile. Despite significant advances that have been made about social networks and human mobility, respectively, our knowledge about the interplay between two layers remains largely limited, partly due to the difficulty in obtaining large-scale datasets that could offer at the same time social and mobile information across a substantial population over an extended period of time. In this paper, we take advantage of a massive, longitudinal mobile phone dataset that consists of human mobility and social network information simultaneously, allowing us to explore the impact of human mobility patterns on the underlying social network. We find that human mobility plays an important role in shaping both local and global structural properties of social network. In contrast to the lack of scale in social networks and human movements, we discovered a characteristic distance in physical space between 10 and 20 km that impacts both local clustering and modular structure in social network. We also find a surprising distinction in trajectory overlap that segments social ties into two categories. Our results are of fundamental relevance to quantitative studies of human behavior, and could serve as the basis of anchoring potential theoretical models of human behavior and building and developing new applications using social and mobile technologies.
The purpose of this study was to identify the types of social networks of urban housewives according to different network composition patterns and to analyze the structural and functional characteristics of identified types. The data used in this study were collected from 589 full-time housewives residing in Taejeon city. The major findings are as follows: 1) The social networks of housewives in urban nuclear families were classified into eight types: the kin network, the non-kin network, the kin-centered network, the friend-centered network, the neighbor-centered network, the associate-centered network, the parallel network, and the decentralized network. 2) The structual characteristics (size, density, homogeneity, duration, proximity, frequency, closeness, direction) varied according to the type. The kin network type and the non-kin network type showed extreme degrees in network characteristics. The parallel network type and the decentralized network type showed an average level of network characteristics. The kin-, friend-, neighbor-, and the associate-centered types showed network characteristics of an intermediate level between the single-category types and the decentralized type. 3) The average levels of function of social network types were different in only two(service support, interference) of the six function areas(emotional support, service support, material support, information support, social companionship support, interference). The average level of service support by the non-kin network type was higher than other types. The average level of interference by the kin-centered network type was higher than other types, and that of the neighbor-centered network type was lower than other types. On the other hand, the total amount of function performance of social network types was different in all function areas. The total amount of social support given by the decentralized network type was greater than the other types. The total amount of interference given by the non-kin network type was smaller than the other types.
Looking at the existing game-related research, innumerable researches such as game acceptance, user satisfaction, continuance intention, wold-of-mouse intention have been carried out. However, there was no cases that applying the concept of service recovery in game researches. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact on the characteristic of the mobile social network game that based on domestic mobile social network game platform which focusing on KakaoTalk games on the service recovery. In addition, the study analyzed the characteristic factors of mobile social network game on the basis of Organizational Equity Theory and Innovation Diffusion Theory to identified the causal relationship between those factors and service recovery. As a result, except the independent variable-compatibility, all of the characteristics factors of mobile social network game showed direct or indirect effects on service recovery. The results of this study are expected as a reference for presenting a new business model, reducing risk factors and enriching the related research of the gaming industry.
Purpose As social network games (SNG) enjoy rapid growth in the market and become a major sector of the gaming industry, it is of great interest to examine the how users continuously use SNG. In SNG, the users' social interaction is the most prominent advantage of the social network, as well as the entertainment afforded by the game. This study explores the relationship between altruism, which is considered the most prominent characteristic of SNS, and the continuance usage intention, as well as the moderating role of social capital. Based on social capital theory and organizational citizenship behavior, this research model considers social bonding and bridging that are divided by social capital. Design/methodology/approach An AMOS analysis based on survey data from 223 SNG users indicated that SNG with greater altruism enhance social capital (social bonding, social bridging), which is related to the user's satisfaction and the continuance intention of SNG. Findings Social bonding is positively related to the user's satisfaction with SNG. In other words, social bridging positively affects the continuous usage intention of SNG. These findings help managers in developing and implementing altruistic relationships and social capital for continuous usage of SNG.

Research collaboration is an important strategy to improve research output, and virtual academic communities (VACs) have become an important platform to collaborate on. This paper reveals the influencing factors of researchers' collaboration intention in VACs from two attributes: individual, and inter-members. On the basis of the Social Cognitive Theory, Social Exchange Theory, social network theory, and Five-Factor Model, this paper constructed a model demonstrating the influencing factors of VACs researchers' collaboration intention. A self-administered questionnaire was employed on members of four VACs in China to collect data; subsequently, 558 usable responses were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The result showed that openness, conscientiousness, reciprocity, trust, and the social network characteristic had a significant influence on the collaboration intention of researchers in VACs, while self-efficacy, agreeableness, extroversion, neuroticism, and experience had no significant effects on the collaboration intention of researchers in VACs. This model plays a positive role in promoting the research collaboration intention of Chinese VACs researchers and in guiding the construction of VAC platforms.
This study conducts to examine the effect of purchase intention on social shopping by connection density and centrality which is a structural characteristic of social network. Furthermore, this study suggests and analyses the difference of social shopping purchase intention between online community which focuses on a group and SNS(social network service) which focuses on an individual. To examine these reason, this study proposes hypotheses that reflects structural characteristic then analyses them. The result of analysis shows that the purchase intention on social shopping seems to be high when the density of connection is high and the purchase intention seems to be high when the centrality is high as well. Moreover, there is difference in the purchase intention on social shopping between online community and SNS and it is found that both cases where the connection density is high in the online community and the connection centrality is high in SNS have significant impact on the purchase intention. Based on these results, this study provides an implication on the importance on network structure in social network and social shopping and to increase the purchase intention of social shopping, this study suggests the implication on the importance and direction which understands the structure of social network type.

In recent years, Social Network Service, which is defined as a web-based service that allows an individual to construct a public or a semi-public profile within a bounded system, articulates a list of other users with whom they share connections, and traverses their list of connections. For example, Facebook and Twitter are the representative sites of Social Network Service, and these sites are the big issue in the world. A lot of people use Social Network Services to connect and maintain social relationship. Recently the users of Social Network Services have increased dramatically. Accordingly, many organizations become interested in Social Network Services as means of marketing, media, communication with their customers, and so on, because social network services can offer a variety of benefits to organizations such as companies and associations. In other words, organizations can use Social Network Services to respond rapidly to various user's behaviors because Social Network Services can make it possible to communicate between the users more easily and faster. And marketing cost of the Social Network Service is lower than that of existing tools such as broadcasts, news papers, and direct mails. In addition, Social network Services are growing in market place. So, the organizations such as companies and associations can acquire potential customers for the future. However, organizations uniformly communicate with users through Social Network Service without consideration of the characteristics of the networks although networks have different effects on information deliveries. For example, members' cohesion in an offline communication is higher than that in an online communication because the members of the offline communication are very close. that is, the network of the offline communication has a strong tie. Accordingly, information delivery is fast in the network of the offline communication. In this study, we compose two networks which have different characteristic of communication in Twitter. First network is constructed with data based on an offline communication such as friend, family, senior and junior in school. Second network is constructed with randomly selected data from users who want to associate with friends in online. Each network size is 250 people who divide with three groups. The first group is an ego which means a person in the center of the network. The second group is the ego's followers. The last group is composed of the ego's follower's followers. We compare the networks through social network analysis and follower's reaction analysis. We investigate density and centrality to analyze the characteristic of each network. And we analyze the follower's reactions such as replies and retweets to find differences of information delivery in each network. Our experiment results indicate that density and centrality of the offline communicationbased network are higher than those of the online-based network. Also the number of replies are larger than that of retweets in the offline communication-based network. On the other hand, the number of retweets are larger than that of replies in the online based network. We identified that the effect of information delivery in the offline communication-based network was different from those in the online communication-based network through experiments. So, you configure the appropriate network types considering the characteristics of the network if you want to use social network as an effective marketing tool.
