This work presents an Internet of Things (IoT) system for home energy management based on a custom-designed Impulse Radio Ultra-Wideband (IR-UWB) transceiver that targets a generic and multi-standard control system. This control system enables the interoperability of heterogeneous devices: it integrates various sensor nodes based on ZigBee, EnOcean and UWB in the same middleware by utilizing an ad-hoc layer as an interface between the hardware and software. The paper presents as a first the design of the IR-UWB transceiver for a portable sensor node integrated with the middleware layer, and also describes the receiver connected to the control system. The custom-designed low-power transmitter on the sensor node is fabricated with 130 nm CMOS technology. It generates a signal with a 1.1 ns pulse width while consuming $39{\mu}W$ at 1 Mbps. The UWB sensor node with a temperature measurement capability consumes 5.31 mW, which is lower than the power level of state-of-the-art solutions for smart-home applications. The UWB hardware and software layers necessary to interface with the control system are verified in over-the-air measurements in an actual office environment. With the implementation of the presented sensor node and its integration in the energy management system, we demonstrate achievement of the broad flexibility demanded for IoT.

Data transmission via the car driver's tethered smart phone may have a volume-dependent billing in case car driver' phone transmits data in real-time to the remote data center. The on-board diagnosis data generated are temporary stored locally to mobile remote diagnosis application on the car driver's phone, and then transmit to the data center later when car driver connects to the Internet. To increase the easiest of using the remote vehicle application without blocking other tasks to be executing on the cloud, node.js stands as a suitable candidate for handling tasks of data storage on the cloud via mobile network. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed architecture by simulating a preliminary case study of an android application responsible of real time analysis by using a vehicle-to- smart phones applications interface approach that considers the smart phones to act as a remote user which passes driver inputs and delivers output from external applications. In this paper, we propose a study on development of Remote Vehicle fault diagnostic system features web server architecture based event loop approach using node.js platform, and wireless communication to handle vehicle diagnostics data to a data center.

In this paper, we propose the miniaturization size of wearable Range of Motion(ROM) and a system that can be connected with smart devices in real-time to measure the joint movement range dynamically. Currently, the ROM of the joint is directly measured by a person using a goniometer. Conventional methods are different depending on the measurement method and location of the measurement person, which makes it difficult to measure consistently and may cause errors. Also, it is impossible to measure the ROM of joints in real-life situations. Therefore, the wearable sensor is attached to the joint to be measured to develop a miniaturize size ROM device that can measure the range of motion of the joint in real-time. The sensor measured the resistance value changed according to the movement of the joint using a load cell. Also, the sensed analog values were converted to digital values using an Analog to Digital Converter(ADC). The converted amount can be transmitted wireless to the smart device through the wearable sensor node. As a result, the developed device can be measured more consistently than the measurement using the goniometer, communication with IoT-based smart devices, and wearable enables dynamic observation. The developed wearable sensor node will be able to monitor the dynamic state of rehabilitation patients in real-time and improve the rapid change of treatment method and customized treatment.

Recently, there has been interests in smart vessel technology, and it needs to consider an intelligent control system for efficient vessel manangement. In a smart vessel, however, it can cause a network overload due to a number of data transmission from a variety of sensor nodes and bridge nodes. In this letter, we propose an data transmission scheme with data fusion to reduce the number of traffic from the sensor nodes. Hence it can decrease network overload for intelligent vessel management.

In this thesis, the range of motion of the joint was measured using a flexible sensor without using a goniometer, and the measured values were transferred to a smart device. Current range of joint motion measurement is measured by a person using a goniometer. Since the method of measuring by a person is different according to the measuring method and position of the measuring person, it is difficult to make consistent measurement, and an error may occur. The sensor for measurement is a flexible sensor that measures the resistance value that changes according to the movement of the joint. The sensed value can be transmitted to the smart device wirelessly through the ROM sensor node. Also, the sensed analog values were converted to digital values using an ADC. The converted value can be transmitted to the smart device wirelessly through the sensor node. The developed ROM measuring device can perform more consistent measurement than the measurement using general articulator and real time monitoring by interlocking with smart device, so that rapid diagnosis according to the movement of the joint can help the patient's rapid treatment and rehabilitation medical advancement will be.

In this study, a novel Randomly Shifted Certification Authority Authentication protocol was used in ad hoc networks to provide authentication by considering the MAC layer characteristics. The nodes achieve authentication through the use of public key certificates issued by a CA, which assures the certificate's ownership. As a part of providing key management, the active CA node transfers the image of the stored public keys to other idle CA nodes. Finally the current active CA randomly selects the ID of the available idle CA and shifts the CA ownership by transferring it. Revoking is done if any counterfeit or duplicate non CA node ID is found. Authentication and integrity is provided by preventing MAC control packets, and Enhanced Hash Message Authentication Code (EHMAC) can be used. Here EHMAC with various outputs is introduced in all control packets. When a node transmits a packet to a node with EHMAC, verification is conducted and the node replies with the transmitter address and EHMAC in the acknowledgement.

Due to the characteristics of an ad hoc network without a control center, self-organization, and flexible topology, the trust evaluation of the nodes in the network is extremely difficult. Based on the analysis of ad hoc networks and the blockchain technology, a blockchain-based node-level trust evaluation model is proposed. The concepts of the node trust degree of the HASH list on the blockchain and the perfect reward and punishment mechanism are adopted to construct the node trust evaluation model of the ad hoc network. According to the needs of different applications the network security level can be dynamically adjusted through changes in the trust threshold. The simulation experiments demonstrate that ad-hoc on-demand distance vector(AODV) Routing protocol based on this model of multicast-AODV(MAODV) routing protocol shows a significant improvement in security compared with the traditional AODV and on-demand multipath distance vector(AOMDV) routing protocols.

In this paper, we proposes a multi-ring based mobile sink location scheme for solar-powered wireless sensor network (WSN). The proposed scheme maintains the multi-rings in which nodes keep the current location of sink node. With the help of nodes in multi-rings, each node can locate the sink node efficiently with low-overhead. Moreover, because our scheme utilizes only surplus energy of a node, it can maintain multiple rings without degrading any performance of each node. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme shows much better latency and scalability with lower energy-consumption than the existing single-ring based scheme.

In this paper Wifi robot car working as web sever on wifi network was implemented using NodeMCU ESP-12E board and its operation was verified using web browser of smart phone and PC. Current research result can be applicable to Wifi home automation applications with ESP-12E board.
Big data processing processes various types of data such as files, images, and video to solve problems and provide insightful useful information. Currently, various platforms are used for big data processing, but many organizations and enterprises are using Hadoop for big data processing due to the simplicity, productivity, scalability, and fault tolerance of Hadoop. In addition, Hadoop can build clusters on various hardware platforms and handle big data by dividing into a name node (master) and a data node (slave). In this paper, we use a fully distributed mode used by actual institutions and companies as an operation mode. We have constructed a Hadoop cluster using a low-power and low-cost single board for smooth experiment. The performance analysis of Name node is compared through the same data processing using single board and laptop as name nodes. Analysis of influence by number of data nodes increases the number of data nodes by two times from the number of existing clusters. The effect of the above experiment was analyzed.
