Comparison of Personalized Ad Methods on the Internet and Smart Phone Platforms (인터넷과 스마트폰 환경에서의 개인화된 광고 방법론의 비교 분석)

  • As the smart phone is propagating rapidly, the importance of mobile advertisement has also grown. One of the main characteristics of the Internet and smart phone advertising is that they can deliver personalized advertisements to each customer. The smart phone enables the identification of additional personalized information such as the customer's location and the accessibility to the site at any place any time. As the Internet platform becomes richer, firms that offer the ad services via the wired PC Internet and wireless smart phone are seeking various types of personalized ads. However, their service platform and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform should be suitable to the characteristics of personalized ads. This research explores various types of personalized ad methods and evaluates their adequacy encompassing four types of ad service platforms (such as search portal, news portal, e-mall servers, and SNS) and two types of ICT platforms (PC Internet and smart phone). To this end, we classified the personalized ads into seven types: three basic types and four composite types. The basic types of ad methods are identified by considering the current activity that the customer is engaged, the individual profile and log history, and the customer's current location or planning location. Four composite types of ad methods are constructed as the combination of these basic types. For those types of ad methods, we evaluate whether each ad method adequately maps with four types of ad service platforms and two types of ICT platforms. We proposed a metric of evaluation and demonstrated the concept with illustrative numbers. Specifically, we analyze and compare personalized ad methods in three ways. Firstly, the possibility of implementing a personalized ad method on the platform is analyzed to confirm the degree of suitability. Secondly, the value of personalized ad method is analyzed based on the customer accessibility. Lastly, expected effectiveness for each personalized ad method is computed by multiplying the possibility and the value. Through this kind of analysis, the ad service providers as well as advertising companies can evaluate what kinds of personalized ad methods and platforms are possible and suitable to maximize their ad effectiveness on the Internet and smart phone platforms.

  • Smart City for establishing mutual communication for next-generation digital signage technology attracting attention in the tele screen service is being spread. In recent years, the state of the surrounding circumstances of the user-to-user information such as situation-based, bi-directional communication by collecting and analyzing the possible interactive tele-screen services. This study suggests the value of smart city services platform, standardization trends, domestic, and international marketability analysis information. Tele-screen service technology is able to be a high-level administrative services, and further domestic e-government technology can be spread all over the world.

For the Success of Smart Product Bundling: Complementarity Level and Advertising Strategy

  • Purpose: This study investigates how to successfully promote the smart product bundle by exploring (1) how consumers' adoption intention toward a smart product bundle differs by the complementarity level of the bundled items and (2) how the ad appeal type influences the effect of complementarity level on adoption intention via goal fluency. Research design, data and methodology: This study was a 2 (complementarity level: low vs. high) × 2 (ad appeal type: attribute vs. benefit) between-subjects experiment. The proposed hypotheses were verified using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and bootstrap analysis using PROCESS. Results: This research demonstrated that adoption intention toward smart products increases when the complementarity level of bundled smart items is high. Goal fluency underlies this relationship. Further, attribute versus benefit appeal type moderates the relationship between the complementarity level and goal fluency. Conclusions: Compared with the attribute appeal, benefit appeal leads to higher goal fluency when the complementarity level of the bundled items is low. However, there was no differential impact of appeal type on goal fluency when the complementarity level of bundled items is high. Finally, goal fluency mediated the interaction of complementarity level × ad appeal type on adoption intention.

Factors Influencing Resistance to the Metaverse: Focusing on Propagation Mechanisms

  • This study examines factors influencing nonusers' resistance to the adoption of the metaverse, focusing on propagation mechanisms. It elucidates the role of innovation resistance within the metaverse adoption process. We applied the Innovation Resistance Model in the context of the metaverse and considers three major groups of factors influencing resistance to the metaverse: innovation characteristics (perceived usefulness, compatibility, perceived risk, and complexity), consumer characteristics (personal innovativeness), and propagation mechanisms (mass media, online media, and personal communication). An online survey of college students who do not use the metaverse revealed that perceived usefulness, compatibility, personal innovativeness, and online media were negative predictors of resistance to the metaverse. Conversely, perceived risk, mass media, and personal communication were positive predictors of resistance to the metaverse. Furthermore, innovation resistance was found to play a mediating role in the metaverse adoption process. Drawing upon the findings, we suggested marketing strategies to decrease resistance to the metaverse.

Development of LPWA based Bus Entry Notification Systems for Smartphone Loss Prevention at Bus Stop Charging Stand (버스정류소 스마트폰 충전대에서 스마트폰의 분실 방지를 위한 LPWA 기반 버스 진입 알림 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, the solar module for charging internet devices is installed in crowded areas to offers services so that people can charge their smartphones or tablets. But this charging module can not be linked with the information related to a bus approach so people are subject to let their belongings such as smartphone, tablet pc at the bus stop while they are still charging it. This paper proposes a system to inform the smart phone when the bus is accessed by using the LPWA technology and BLE technology to resolve such under-failures. This experimental result showed that the power usage of LPWA based bus entry systems is an average of X, confirming that the long period usage of low-power can be possible for low power consumption in this results, enabling information on the bus to be transmitted to smart phones using Advertising mode of BLE.

Overlapping-based Smart Advertisement Technique for Mobile News Articles (모바일 뉴스 기사를 위한 중첩 기반의 스마트 광고 기법)

  • Mobile news users want news articles without advertising, meanwhile the news providers require advertisement displays in several types to attain advertising revenue. In this paper, we classified the types of advertisements on mobile news articles into fixed article type which is fixed on some areas of articles, fixed screen type which is fixed on mobile screens, and a combination type of them. In addition, we proposed a smart solution based on overlapping method which effectively organize advertisements to not distract the readers. The proposed method is similar to fixed article type and overlapping technique of advertisements on news article's photo or virtual area. The performance evaluation result shows that the proposed method provides more spaces for news articles effectively than the existing methods. Although only some areas of advertisements may be blocked according to the number or size of advertisements, the effect is not critical.

Comparative study about the user experience, product attitudes, and repurchase intention regarding smart phone UI(User Interface) in Korea and China (스마트폰의 UI(User Interface)에 대한 사용자 경험과 제품태도 및 재구매의도에 관한 한·중 비교 연구)

  • This study intends to look into the perception gap among Korean and Chinese consumers regarding the product attitudes toward smart phones and repurchase intention as well as the user experience. First, this study showed that there are gaps among Korean and Chinese consumers, regarding smart phones, toward their experiences of usage satisfaction, usefulness, design satisfaction, and evaluation from other people and that Chinese consumers have higher awareness of every experience element concerning UI than Korean consumers. Second, concerning the difference in the product attitudes toward smart phones, it turns out that Chinese consumers also have higher awareness of it than Korean consumers. Third, regarding the difference in repurchase intention for smart phones among Korean and Chinese consumers, this study shows that Chinese consumers are likely to have more intention than Korean consumers. because their average value is higher than Korean consumers' even though the difference are not statistically significant. This study is expected to have academic meaning(significance) for providing basic materials of comparative study between two countries regarding the user experience about smart phone as well as some useful implications for the competitive power improvement of Korean smart phone related companies in China.

Development of Cooling and Heating Bench System with Improved User Convenience for Smart City (사용자 편의성을 향상시킨 스마트 시티용 냉·온열 벤치 시스템 개발)

  • In this study, a smart bench was developed and researched smart benches that can contribute to user convenience and satisfaction by installing them in parks, bus stops, and tourist attractions in line with the rapidly changing construction of smart cities. The smart bench is automatically operated by the control system according to the external temperature and provides additional functions such as charging, lighting, and advertising to improve general bench functions as well as heating in winter and cooling in summer, making it suitable for smart urbanization. The developed smart bench is designed to be strong enough to withstand loads of about 2,500 N. It minimizes the visible parts such as assembled bolts and 220V power supply wires, It can also give aesthetic effects. The development was carried out with the aim of waterproofing and dustproofing of IP44 grade in accordance with the climate of Republic of Korea, which has four seasons, and it is advantageous for long-term use because the paint was selected for the weather ability (discoloration) grade 3 or higher. If smart bench is commercialized, it is believed that various options can be provided to the smart bench market, where buyers had few product options, as the parts were developed in an assembled type so that all functions can be responded in an optional form according to the installation environment and the buyer's budget.

The Effect of Brand Personalized Marketing on Advertising Avoidance and Brand Loyalty of the MZ Generation (브랜드의 개인화된 마케팅이 MZ세대의 광고 회피와 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted from May 10th to 30th, 2023 to confirm the relationship between advertisement irritation, privacy concerns, personalized marketing, and social influence of brand customized advertisements on advertisement avoidance and brand loyalty targeting the MZ generation. The following results were verified using the SPSS 28.0 and Smart PLS 4.0 programs for a valid survey of 400 people targeting the MZ generation nationwide on a daily basis. First, advertisement irritation had a positive (+) effect on advertisement avoidance but had no effect on brand loyalty, and personalized marketing had a positive (+) effect on advertisement avoidance but had no effect on brand loyalty. Second, concerns about personal information had a positive (+) effect on avoidance of advertisements and brand loyalty. Third, social influence had a positive (+) effect on advertisement avoidance and brand loyalty. Fourth, advertisement avoidance played a significant mediating role between advertisement irritation and brand avoidance, but did not play a significant mediating role between personalized marketing and social influence. Based on these results, this study is meaningful in that it can be used as basic data for research on advertising avoidance and brand loyalty and for establishing strategies necessary for brand marketing activities.
