지방산을 이용한 Nuttallia olivacea 및 Nereidae의 먹이원에 관한 연구 (The Origin of Food Sources for Nuttallia olivacea and Nereidae by Fatty Acid Analysis)

  • The spatial variability in the food chain structure of an estuary environment (Nanakita estuary, Japan) was investigated using fatty acid. Potential organic matter sources (terrestiral plants, macroalgae, benthic microalgae, dinflagellates and bacteria), sedimentary organic matters and benthic invertebrates (Nuttallia olivacea and Nereidae) were sampled in four locations with different tidal flat type. The main objective of the present study was to determine the origin of sediment and the food sources of N. olivacea and Nereidae along with small-scale spatial variability. The origin of sedimentary organic matters were mainly the fatty acid of bacteria and benthic microalgae. Especially, The organic matter of terrestrial plant origin was found the highest in station C. The diets of N. olivacea and Nereidae were found to be dominated by diatoms and terrestrial plants. Whereas, macroalgae and dinoflagellates showed little influence to benthic invertebrates. Moreover, according to principal component analysis, it is showed that benthic invertebrates in the same region are using the same food without relation with species. On the other hand, the N. olivacea and Nereidae of station D clearly contrasts with station B in terms of main food sources. From these results, it is suggested that food competition of benthic invertebrates revealed high a connection between small-scale spatial variability and food source in estuary.

소형 가스사이클론 집진장치를 이용한 PM 전처리 시스템의 유동 가시화 (Flow visualization of PM preprocessing system using the small scale gascyclone precipitator)

  • This study is aimed to design the mechanical gascyclone precipitator with an outstanding collection efficiency as one of ways to reduce exhaust gas of small-scale vessels. It estimated fine particles generated from diesel engines which has become one of the biggest environmental issues currently. Specifically, it quantitatively analyzed the flowing process from the cyclone gas exit; a duct via part to the collecting part of Cylindrical lower using DPIV (Digital Particle Image Velocimetry). Since the gas inlet height part became wider the previous theoretical dimensions, internal fluid characteristics of cyclone where the speed of internal swirl had been slow were investigated by temporary streamline of fine particles at $14-20{\mu}m$. The results showed that collecting efficiency was three times higher than the conical type utilized previously. In addition, this study supplemented imprecision problems from the previous theoretical equation and CFD interpretation with an experimental method. It also provided a basic data to design the cyclone precipitator by size of diesel engines for vessels.

  • The study in railway system to apply a fuel cell system with high efficiency and mobility than other renewable energy is being actively conducted. It is needed a analysis on load characteristics and control method of rolling stock in order to apply to rolling stock. This paper presents study on control small-scale prototype power converter electric railway vehicle using fuel cell generation system. Experiment is conducted through real fuel cell generation system and reference speed applying the driving curve of the actual electric railway vehicle was applied. Also, output voltage of boost converter is controlled considering characteristic of fuel cell. And it was confirmed characteristic according to powering and regeneration of inverter.

AM600: A New Look at the Nuclear Steam Cycle

  • Many developing countries considering the introduction of nuclear power find that large-scale reactor plants in the range of 1,000 MWe to 1,600 MWe are not grid appropriate for their current circumstance. By contrast, small modular reactors are generally too small to make significant contributions toward rapidly growing electricity demand and to date have not been demonstrated. This paper proposes a radically simplified re-design for the nuclear steam cycle for a medium-sized reactor plant in the range of 600 MWe. Historically, balance of plant designs for units of this size have emphasized reliability and efficiency. It will be demonstrated here that advances over the past 50 years in component design, materials, and fabrication techniques allow both of these goals to be met with a less complex design. A disciplined approach to reduce component count will result in substantial benefits in the life cycle cost of the units. Specifically, fabrication, transportation, construction, operations, and maintenance costs and expenses can all see significant reductions. In addition, the design described here can also be expected to significantly reduce both construction duration and operational requirements for maintenance and inspections.

저비용 모바일 게임 개발사례 분석을 통한 사용성 연구 (A Study of Usability Analysis on 'Low-Budget' Mobile Game Development)

  • 본 연구는, 기존의 저비용 모바일 게임개발 사례를 근간으로, 3명의 개발인원, 4개월의 개발기간이라는 연구의 지향점을 두고 진행된 분석연구로, 소규모, 단기간 조건하에서 게임제작에 필수적인 업무 간 협업과정을 단계별로 기록, 효율적 게임개발의 필수요소들을 검증하였다. 선행연구로 개발인원의 업무적 책임역량을 이론적으로 고찰한 후, 본문에서 단기간 제작사례를 바탕으로 제작자의 입장에서 효과적인 제작 과정을 분석, 과정상의 핵심요소를 제시하고, 사용성 검증을 위하여 개발자들의 피드백을 추가적으로 첨부함으로서, 소규모 인원에 의한 단기간 게임개발의 장, 단점 및 보완사항이 연구결과로 제시되었다는 점에서, 본 연구가 소규모 개발사에게 좋은 가이드라인이 될 것으로 판단된다.

수도사업 통합 사례 분석을 통한 수도사업 통합 추진 방안 (Korea waterworks intergration promotion plan based on case analysis)

  • In order to overcome the small scale of Korea waterworks and to achieve comprehensive improvement and innovation transformation, the waterworks integration was reviewed. The effect of consolidation was confirmed by the integration of the water supply business in the southern Gangwon region and the western Gyeongnam region in Korea, such as an increase in the flow rate and a decrease in the production unit cost. After facing management and service limitations overseas, more than 1,000 small-scale waterworks projects in the UK were integrated into 27 waterworks providers, and Japan also revised the Waterworks Act in December 2019 and is in the process of integrating waterworks. It is considered appropriate to promote the integration of waterworks projects in Korea by respecting the autonomy of local governments, but using a participatory method, a win-win method, and a linkage method. For the integration of waterworks projects, three strategies are proposed: First creating a national foundation for integration (revision of the Waterworks Act), Second establishing a waterworks integration strategy led by local governments, Third forming an external consensus and providing incentives for participation.

HOT GAS HALOS IN EARLY-TYPE GALAXIES AND ENVIRONMENTS

  • We investigate the dependence of the extended X-ray emission from the halos of optically luminous early-type galaxies on the small-scale (the nearest neighbor distance) and large-scale (the average density inside the 20 nearest galaxies) environments. We cross-match the 3rd Data Release of the Second XMMNewton Serendipitous Source Catalog (2XMMi-DR3) to a volume-limited sample of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) Data Release 7 with $M_r$ < -19.5 and 0.020 < z < 0.085, and find 20 early-type galaxies that have extended X-ray detections. The X-ray luminosity of the galaxies is found to have a tighter correlation with the optical and near infrared luminosities when the galaxy is situated in the low large-scale density region than in the high large-scale density region. Furthermore, the X-ray to optical (r-band) luminosity ratio, $L_X/L_r$, shows a clear correlation with the distance to the nearest neighbor and with large-scale density environment only where the galaxies in pair interact hydrodynamically with seperations of $r_p$ < $r_{vir}$. These findings indicate that the galaxies in the high local density region have other mechanisms that are responsible for their halo X-ray luminosities than the current presence of a close encounter, or alternatively, in the high local density region the cooling time of the heated gas halo is longer than the typical time between the subsequent encounters.

Oxidation-Deficient Silkworm Hemolymph as a Medium Supplement for Insect Cell Culture

  • Hemolymph is oxidized and darkens visibly during the collection from silkworm due to the activity of tyrosinase in it. Toxic quinones are produced by the oxidation and consequently inhibit the cell growth. Heat treatment can be used to prevent the oxidation ; however, the oxidation may occur during the collection of hemolymph before it is heat-treated. It makes the hemolymph collection difficult especially on a large-scale preparation. Hemolymphs collected from 257 different strains of silkworms were examined to select the slowly oxidized hemolymphs. Hemolymphs collected from mutant strains such as Lemone, TBO, Cre, Y4, and wEb showed relatively slow color changes. Oxidation rates of the hemolymphs were measured by the absorbance change using a spectrophotometer. The hemolymph of wEb showed the slowest oxidation. The absorbance of this mutant hemolymph reached the saturation value at 20$^{\circ}C$ in 450 min, whereas the total oxidation time of the wild-type (Baekokjam) hemolymph at the same temperature was 120 min. We tested if this mutant hemolymph is useful as a medium supplement for insect cell culture. Cell growth rate and final cell concentration in the medium supplemented with the wEb hemolymph were almost same as those in the medium supplemented with the wild-type hemolymph. Hemolymph is collected on a small scale by clipping the abdominal leg; however, this method is not appropriate fro large scale preparation. Centrifugation after chopping the silkworm hemolymph by a blending mixer is a more appropriate procedure for large scale collection. Slowly oxidized wEb hemolymph resulted in higher cell concentration than the wild-type hemolymph when hemolymph was collected by the large scale preparation method.

소형 직교류 열교환기의 열적 특성에 관한 연구 (Thermal Characteristics of Cross-flow Small Scale Heat Exchanger)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 예혼합방식의 버너 앞에 소형 열교환기를 설치한 후 당량비를 변화시킬 때 NOx와 CO의 배출특성을 검토하고 열교환기 유용도와 엔트로피 생성수를 실험결과를 바탕으로 계산한 것이다. 실험결과 당량비가 증가할수록 화염온도가 높아지면서 열전달율은 상승한다. 배기가스 오염물질량과 유용도를 고려할 경우 본 실험범위에서의 적정 운전당량비는 0.75이다. 유용도를 증가시키고 엔트로피 생성량을 줄이기 위해서는 연소가스의 열전달량을 증가시켜야 하며 따라서 열교환기 면적을 증가시키는 것이 필요하다고 판단된다.

FUEL PROPERTIES AND EMISSIONS CHARACTERISTICS OF ETHANOL-DIESEL BLEND ON SMALL DIESEL ENGINE

  • Phase separation and low cetane number are the main barriers to the large-scale use of ethanol-diesel blend fuel on small diesel engines. In this paper, an additive package is designed on the basis of the blended fuel properties to overcome these limitations. The experiments show that the solubility of ethanol in diesel is evidently increased by adding $1{\sim}2%$ (in volume) of the additive package and the flammability of ethanol-diesel blend fuel with the additive has reached the neat diesel level under the cold start conditions. Effects of the ethanol content in diesel on fuel economy, combustion characteristics, and emission characteristics are also investigated with the ethanol blend ratios of 10%, 20% and 30%. The increase in ethanol content shows that the specific fuel consumption and the brake thermal efficiency are both gradually increased compared to neat diesel. The soot concentrations of the three blended fuels are all greatly lower than that of neat diesel. $NO_x$ emission is increased with an increase in the engine load and is reduced with the increase in the ethanol blend ratio under a high load.
