La0.7Sr0.3FeO3 세라믹스의 교류 전도특성 (Alternating - Current Electrical Properties of La0.7Sr0.3FeO3 Ceramics)

  • We have studied the ac conductivity of insulating $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}FeO_3$ in the frequency range 20 Hz-l MHz and in the temperature range 80-300 K. We have analyzed experimental results in the frame works of the quantum-mechanical tunneling mechanism (QMT) and the hopping of barrier mechanism (HOB). We observed that small polaron QMT model is the most suitable mechanism for the low temperature ac conductivity of $La_{0.7}Sr_{0.3}FeO_3$.

  • The temperature dependence of dc conductivity and magnetic properties of cation deficient {{{{ { {(LaMn) }_{1-λ }O }_{3 } }} systems has been investigated,. Above 160K the magnetic susceptibility of all samples followed the Curie-Weiss law. The Curie temperature decreased as the cation deficiency increased. This is due to a strong Jahn-Teller effect originated from electrons of {{{{ { Mn}^{3+ } }} In the case of samples annealed in air and oxygen at-mosphere the charge carriers responsible for conduction in the ferromagnetic regime below the Curie tem-perature are believed to have both magnetic and lattice characteristics. However the conduction carriers in the paramagnetic regime above the Curie temperature are though to be formed by hopping process of small polarons which were generated by assistance of the Jahn-Teller effect.

  • In this study, the thermoelectric power and resistivity of the perovskite manganite $La_{0.75}Ba_{0.25}MnO_3$ were investigated in the temperature range 300K-1200K. The electrical resistivity and thermoelectric power indicate a transport mechanism dominated by adiabatic small-polaron hopping. The power factor increases from $2{\times}10^{-6}W/mK^2$ to $1{\times}10^{-5}W/mK^2$ as to the temperature increases from 400K to 1200K, which indicates that the compound is highly feasible as a thermoelectric material at high temperatures.

  • The crystallization behavior and electrical conductivity of the $CuO-Bi_2O_3-V_2O_5$ glasses with various CuO content were investigated. The glass formation regin was 0~20 mol% Bi2O3, 5~55 mol% CuO, and 30~90 mol% $V_2O_5$ with Tg=$275^{\circ}C$~$290^{\circ}C$. Among glasses with various compositions, the 31CuO-$14Bi_2O_3-55V_2O_5$ (mol%) glass heat-treated at $358^{\circ}C$ for 8 h showed the highest conductivity of ~ at room temperature. The heat-treated glasses increased in electrical conductivity by the order of 104 compared to non heat-treated glass. The linear relationship between 1n($\sigma$T)and $T^{-1}$ indicated that electrical conduction in the 31CuO-$14Bi_2O_3-55V_2O_5$ (mol%) glass occurred by a small polaron hopping.

  • The electrical transport properties of $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CrO_3$ below room temperatures were investigated by dielectric, dc resistivity, magnetic properties and thermoelectric power. Below $T_c$, $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CrO_3$ contains a dielectric relaxation process in the tangent loss and electric modulus. The $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CrO_3$ involves the transition from high temperature thermal activated conduction process to low temperature one. The transition temperature corresponds well to the Curie point. The relaxation mechanism has been discussed in the frame of electric modulus spectra. The scaling behavior of the modulus suggests that the relaxation mechanism describes the same mechanism at various temperatures. The low temperature conduction and relaxation takes place in the ferromagnetic phase. The ferromagnetic state in $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CrO_3$ indicates that the electron - magnon interaction occurs, and drives the carriers towards localization in tandem with the electron - lattice interaction even at temperature above the Curie temperature.

  • We present the results of a combined magnetization, dc and magneto-transport study of the n = 2 Ruddlesden-Popper compound $Ca_3Mn_2O_7$ The negative thermoelectric powder is observed. The magnetic measurement data show that there is sharp magnetic transition at 134 K. However, the de and magnetoresistance of $Ca_3Mn_2O_7$ show no particular transport. Transport properties of the compound $Ca_3Mn_2O_7$ are interpreted in terms of activated hopping of small polarons in non-adiabatic regime. Polarons are most probably formed around $Mn^{3+}$ sites created by oxygen sub-stoichiometry.

산소 결핍된 TiO2-δ:Ni 박박의 자기적 성질 연구 (Study on Magnetic Properties of TiO2-δ:Ni Thin Films)

  • 졸-겔(sol-gel) 방법을 이용하여 제작된 산소결핍(oxygen vacancy)들을 내포하는 Ni 도핑된 루타일(rutile) 구조의 $TiO_{2-{\delta}}$ 박막들에 대하여 그 자기적 성질 및 관련된 전자구조적 성질에 대하여 조사분석 하였다. $TiO_{2-{\delta}}$:Ni 박막들에서 상온 강자성이 관측되었으며 Ni 도핑량이 증가할수록 포화 자화량($M_s$)이 점차 감소하여 6 at% 이상에서 일정한 값으로 유지되었다. 이와 같은 Ni 도핑량 6 at% 이하에서의 강자성 현상은 산소결핍 자리에 속박된 전자를 매개로 그 주위에 존재하는 불순물 이온들의 자기 능률들이 강자성 정렬을 이루게 되는 자기 폴라론(magnetic polaron)의 형성에 의한 것으로 해석된다. 소량의 Ni 도핑 시 각 이온당 최대 $3.7{\mu}_B/Ni$의 큰 $M_s$ 값이 나타났으며 6 at% 이상에서의 일정한 $M_s$ 값은 Ni cluster 형성에 의한 것으로 해석된다. 이와 같은 Ni cluster의 존재는 시료들에 대한 Hall 측정 결과 나타난 Ni 도핑량 증가에 따르는 p-n 전도성 전이를 설명하여 줄 수 있다.

  • 1018-1021 The CuO-P$_2$O$_{5}$ containing P$_2$O$_{5}$ as glass-former were prepared by press-quenching method on the copper plate. By post-heat treatment of these glasses, the CuO-P$_2$O$_{5}$ -V$_2$O$_{5}$ -g1ass ceramics was obtained and the crystallization behavior and dc conductivities were investigovted. The heat-treated glass-ceramics decreased in electrical conductivity by the order of 10$^1$ compared to amorphous glass. The linear relationship between In($\sigma$T) and T$^{-1}$ indicated that electrical conduction in CuO-P$_2$O$_{5}$ -V$_2$O$_{5}$ -gass occurred by a small polaron hopping.

Effect of Chromium Chloride on the Mechanical and Dielectric Properties of EPDM Rubber

  • Measurements of Young's modulus, dielectric loss and a.c. conductivity have been carried out on EPDM rubber samples loaded with different concentrations of $CrCl_3$ (0,2,4 and 6 phr). The values of Young's modulus was found to be linearly dependent on the $CrCl_3$ content. Variation of the dielectric loss with temperature showed that $CrCl_3$ may act as plasticizer. However, at higher frequencies the dielectric loss was found to be independent of frequency and the rubber samples may behave as non-polar dielectric. Investigations of the a.c conductivity suggested that the conduction in these rubber samples can be described by small polaron tunneling. In addition, conductivity was found to increase with $CrCl_3$ content.

  • The crystallization behavior and dc Conductivities of CuO-P$_2$O$_{5}$ -Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ -V$_2$O$_{5}$ glasses prepared by quenching on the copper plate were investigated. The conductivities of the glasses were range from 10$^{-5}$ s.$cm^{-1}$ / at room temperature, but the conductivities of the glass-ceramics were 10$^{-3}$ s.$cm^{-1}$ / increased by 10$^2$order. The crystalline product in the glass-ceramics was CuV$_2$O$_{6}$ . The linear relationship between in($\sigma$T) and T$^{-1}$ suggested that the electrical conduction in the present glass-ceramics would be due to a small polaron hopping mechanism.
