  • As moulds and dies are manufactured through complex processes under the make-to-order production environment, it is very difficult that the manufacturing activities as like observance of the due date, trace of the progress, etc are controlled with a real time. In this paper, a schedule-planning system using the commercial software Microsoft Project 98 is developed to control the procedures of mould and die manufacturing with real time. Once an initial schedule is planned from the BOM information in the intranet, it is rescheduled by data collected from machines on the shop floor. The system is suitable to medium- or small-sized manufacturing companies as well as large-sized ones, because it can be installed with a low cost.

  • Service-learning is a form of experiential education in which students participate in organized activities and develop a sense of civic responsibility while acquiring content knowledge of the discipline. The purpose of this study was first, to examine the underlying theories and principles of service-learning, and second, to present a case of systemic implementation of problem-based service-learning into a Product Innovation and Management class in higher education. The New Product Development for an E-Commerce Small Business project was developed for a community partner, BevShots, reflecting the needs of the firm, and was tightly woven into the course content. Students' participation in the project had a significant effect on increasing their awareness of the needs in the community and identifying their roles as citizens as well as enhancing their content knowledge learning. The community partner also received benefits for his business by participating in the project. Through this study, we aim to inspire fashion design and merchandising educators to implement service-learning projects/classes in the curriculum.

  • A making a decision of construction cost has important meaning and function for both contractor and owner in construction projects. Especially, it should be premised that estimating the construction cost in efficient and rational way in public construction, which is invested by government funds, for efficient execution of the budget and investment as a side of government. The systematic methodology for estimating construction cost approximately of a river facility construction project has not yet been established because of its unique characteristics including its relatively small project size in terms of cost. On this study, It collect and analyze a river facility construction historical cost data for develop an approximate cost estimating model for river applied by typical embankment section method and rate application of the others activity type. And it verify suitability of model through a that result of application of real river facility construction statement at developed model. By this study, it is expected to reasonable and systematic estimating construction cost through application of developed model.

  • Statistical thinking has a broad definition but focuses on the context of regression modelling in the present study. To foster students' statistical thinking within the context, teaching should no longer be seen as transfer of knowledge from teacher to students but as a process of engaging with learning activities in which they develop ownership of knowledge. This study aims at collaborative learning contexts; students were divided into small groups in order to increase opportunities for peer collaboration. Each group of students was asked to do a regression project after class. Through doing the project, they learnt to organize and connect previously accrued piecemeal statistical knowledge in an integrated manner. They could also clarify misunderstandings and solve problems through verbal exchanges among themselves. They gave a clear and lucid account of the model they had built and showed collaborative interactions when presenting their projects in front of class. A survey was conducted to solicit their feedback on how peer collaboration would facilitate learning of statistics. Almost all students found their interaction with their peers productive; they focused on the development of statistical thinking with concerted effort.

  • The smart factory promotion project is a project that improves the entire management environment system, including the production process, using ICT technology. According to the 2019 Smart Factory Survey and Analysis Research Report of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, small and medium-sized enterprises that introduced smart factories reported positive effects such as increased productivity, improved quality, and reduced costs on average. On the other hand, the survey results of companies that promoted the project despite positive results showed that there was room for improvement. This study dealt with the contents of the survey conducted on companies by the smart factory promotion agency in 2020 regarding the infrastructure configuration for promoting smart factories. We examined the meaningful contents implied by the data related to the infrastructure configuration. These meaningful survey results can lead to more efficient business promotion in the future when promoting smart factory projects.

  • This paper describes small ruminant production systems in dry areas of Pakistan. Formal and informal surveys had identified that poor feed resources, as a result of harsh climatic conditions, is a major factor responsible for low sheep and goats production. In view of their recommendations, use of approaches like supplemental feeding and pasture production through an introduction of improved forage species in the country, are reviewed. The improvement in sheep production and associated socioeconomic benefits, are discussed.

  • RUSLE was applied to estimate annual soil loss from two small agricultural watersheds in Kangwon-do, Korea. GIS input parameters were prepared by using DEMs and soil maps prepared by the NGIS project and Rural Development Adminstration, respoctively. RUSLE parameters were prepared based on existing data and equations. Estimated annual soil loss was graphically presented to easily visualize the large soil loss area. Uplands and vineyards proved to be the two greatest sources for soil erosion. It was suggested to develop effective management practices to reduce the soil erosion from uplands and vineyards.

  • When starting a new project, generally similar existing projet are searched. As Building Modeling Information(BIM) has short history and experience, the dependence on similar project is high. Small and medium sized design companies are depending on website search tool for information of BIM project besides companies maintaining the Database(DB) from lots of project experience. However, the information level and contents provided by websites differ drastically from each other which makes it difficult to utilize the information and apply cases. Furthermore, the different classification system of the sites makes the situation even worse. Therefore, we collected and analyzed over 100 BIM cases from 18 global websites, to develop a system for BIM case application. Result showed that over 90% of our subject pool provided basic information including the construction type, characteristics of the client (public/ private), location of the project, and detailed information such as primary usage. Moreover, the reasons for applying BIM where to solve problems of geometric design, building system like MEP and construction. Furthermore, there was a contrast between cases conducted only within Korea and cases conducted with other countries. While there was almost always helpful information regarding the administrative steps for Korean BIM cases, there was close to no information for projects carried out outside of Korea. These results could contribute to verifying the trend of information provision of the websites for BIM projects data, and this is believed to be helpful for developing an application system for BIM cases which have an organized information provision system and level as well as for bench marking.

  • The main issue in software development is the ability of software project effort and cost estimation in the early phase of software life cycle. The regression models for project effort and cost estimation are presented by function point that is a software sire. The data sets used to conduct previous studies are of ten small and not too recent. Applying these models to 789 project data developed from 1990 ; the models only explain fewer than 0.53 $R^2$(Coefficient of determination) of the data variation. Homogeneous group in accordance with project delivery rate (PDR) divides the data sets. Then this paper presents general effort estimation models using project delivery rate. The presented model has a random distribution of residuals and explains more than 0.93 $R^2$ of data variation in most of PDR ranges.

  • This study attempted to investigate the changes in the perception of local government officials about agricultural infrastructure improvement projects due to the financial policy changes. A total of 141 local government officials were surveyed on the priority, the current status of the agricultural infrastructure improvement projects. Irrigation facilities renovation project and Small drainage improvement project had generally high priority, while Support project of cultivation basis for upland crops in paddy, Large scale land readjustment project, and Upland infrastructure improvement project had low priorities. After the introduction of the block grant system, agricultural infrastructure improvement projects had often been conducted by collecting opinions from local residents. The officials in charge of local governments recognized that the agricultural infrastructure improvement projects were reduced due to lack of financial resources and project potential sites. In response to the changes in the agricultural infrastructure improvement projects, most of the surveys showed that the influence of cities and provinces was strengthened. In addition, respondents most needed to improve the subsidy rate and there were a large number of cases requiring differential support to meet the characteristics of the local government. Therefore, it will be necessary to present a new perspective on the agricultural infrastructure improvement projects and to suggest differentiated projects for each regions.
