개의 담낭 슬러지와 요 결석증을 동반한 담석증 (Cholelithiasis Complicated with Biliary Sludge and Urolithiasis in a Dog)

  • 10년령의 암컷 Miniature Schnauzer개가 지속적인 식욕결핍, 이장열, 구토, 복통 등의 증상으로 내원하였다. 혈액검사 상에서 백혈구 수치는 만성 염증 소견을 나타내었고, 혈액 화학검사에서는 심한 담즙정체를 나타내는 중등도의 간담도계 이상 지표를 보여주었다. 복부 방사선과 초음파상에서 간종대, 담낭내 슬러지와 결석, 방광내 결석등이 관찰되었다. 이러한 진단 소견을 바탕으로 본 증례를 방광 결석증이 합병된 담낭내 담석과 슬러지에 의한 간외성 담관 폐색증으로 진단하였다. 담석과 방광결석을 담낭절제술과 방광절제술을 통해 담낭과 방광으로부터 각각 제거하였으며, 수술 후 환축의 임상증상 개선은 매우 빠르게 진행되었다.

샤모예드종 개에서 발생한 간내성 문맥-정맥 문합을 경정맥 코일장착으로 치료한 증례 (Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Fixed By Transvenous Coil Embolization in a Samoyed Dog)

  • 5개월령 암컷 샤모에드종 개가 운동 불내성과 간성뇌증과 관련된 신경증상으로 내원하였다. 임상검사상 간헐적 발작, 빈혈, 식전/식후 담즙산 농도 상승, 저단백혈증 및 빌리루빈뇨증이 관찰되었다. 진단영상검사에서 간내 문정맥 문합이 확인되었다. 문합이 일어난 문맥혈관을 경정맥을 통한 embolization coil을 이용하여 성공적으로 폐색시켰다. 환자의 임상증상은 점진적으로 개선되었다. 본 증례는 대형품종 개에서 발생한 간내 문정맥 문합을 embolization coil을 이용하여 성공적으로 치료한 증례이다.

요크셔테리어 잡종견에서 나타난 동방회귀성 빈맥증 (Sinoatrial Reentrant Tachycardia in a Yorkshire Cross Dog)

  • 8세령 수컷 요크셔테리어 잡종견(몸무게: 7.5kg)이 운동불내성과 실신을 주증상으로 강원대학교 동물병원에 내원하였다. 초기 심장 검사에서 경미한 이첨판 역류증이외에 특별한 이상소편은 관찰되지 않았다. 운동내성검사에서 환자는 심각한 chronotrophic incompetence소견을 보였고, 1시간-디지털 심전도 검사에서 돌발적으로 발생하여 종료되는 발작성 동성 빈맥소견(심박수: 156-172회)을 보였다. 추가적인 미주신경 자극시험과 verapamil 반응시험에서 빈맥이 종료되는 소견을 보였다. 이러한 소견을 토대로 본 증례는 동방회귀성 빈맥증으로 진단내렸다. 환자는 diltiarem과 enalapril로 치료하였고, 한달 후 재검사에서 운동 불내성 소견은 지속적으로 보였지만, 추가적인 실신소견은 관찰되지 않았다.

  • This study aims to develop a multi-functional cage for dogs as a house to reduce their anxiety when they go out using cages. This study investigates the types and characteristics of cages and cage preference by surveying men and women in their 20s who use them. The cage product reviews are also analyzed. The research results are as follows: First, domestic dog cages are classified into crate, shoulder, cross (sling bag), backpack, carrier, and stroller types. The crate type is easy to clean and can be used as a house, but it is bulky and therefore inconvenient to carry when using public transportation. The shoulder type is a fabric material with good air permeability but has the disadvantage of being easily soiled. It can be used as a house and is light weight, making it convenient when using public transportation. Second, as a result of consumer research, respondents prefer the shoulder-type fabric over the crate-type plastic material. Third, from the shoulder-type product review, the shape stability, companion dogs' psychological safety, the wearability of companions, and management convenience are derived. Fourth, based on the survey results, a multi-functional cage is developed taking into account the companion dog, companion person, and functional factors.

Expression of DOG1, CD117 and PDGFRA in Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors and Correlations with Clinicopathology

  • Objective: To discuss the significance of DOG1, CD117 and PDGFRA in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and analyze their correlations with clinicopathological features and risk ranking. Method: DOG1, CD117 and PDGFRA were detected with IHC Envision ldpe-g-nvp in 63 GISTs and 43 cases of non-GISTs, and analyzed for relations with clinicopathological factors (gender, age, location, tumor size, mitotic phase, histology) and risk degree. Results: The positive expression rate of DOG1, CD117 and PDGFRA in GISTs was 84.1% (53/63), 90.5% (57/63), 53.2% (33/63), respectively. Among the 6 CD117 negative cases, all were DOG1 positive and 5 were PDGFRA positive. Rates in patients with non-GISTs was 11.6%, 16.3%, 6.98%, respectively. Expression of DOG1 and PDGFRA demonstrated no significant variation with gender, age, position, tumor size, mitotic phase, histology, and risk rank. However, CD117 was related with position and histology (P=0.008 and P=0.045), those in the mesentery having a higher positive rate than those derived from stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum (50.0% vs 94.7%, P=0.008). Furthermore CD117 was also highly expressed in spindle and epithele types. Conclusions: DOG1 had a good sensitivity and specificity as a kind of newly discovered marker, especially for KIT negative GISTs. However, DOG1, CD117 and PDGFRA cannot be used for assessing the rish of patients.

국내 토종개의 염색체 조사에 관한 연구 (Study on chromosomes survey of Korea native dogs)

  • The karyotype of the domestic dog is widely accepted as one of the difficult mammalian karyotypes to work. In contrast to many other animals, knowledge about the canine karyotype is quite sparse. The dog has a total of 78 chromosomes; all 76 autosomes are acrocentric in morphology and show only a gradual decrease in length. But appear to be quite small and difficult to identify unambiguously. To purchased standardization of chromosome in Korea native dog, there were analyzed by conventional trypsin/Giemsa staining (GTG-banding techniques), and were compared with 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 17 chromosome. There were no variations in karyotypes which were analyzed by conventional GTG-banding techniques, but differences were observed in G-banding patterns with Sapsaree, Jindo, Gyeongju DongGyeong dogs, Welshi-Corgi. It is not clear that these disagreements in G-banding patterns between strains of dog were caused by chromosome polymorphism or a difference in interpretation. Comparative analysis of the distribution patterns of conserved segments defined by dog paints in the genomes of the Korea native dogs demonstrates that their differences in the karyotypes of these three species could have resulted from acrocentric banding patterns.
