액상 슬러리 반응기에서 합성가스로부터 DME 직접 제조 (Direct Synthesis of Dimethyl Ether From Syngas in Slurry Phase Reactor)

  • DME(Dimethyl Ether) was directly produced from the synthesis gas using the slurry phase reactor. The catalyst for DME production prepared two types (A type; Cu:Zn:Al=57:33:10, B type; Cu:Zn:Al=40:45:15, molar ratio). It was evaluated for the effect of the reaction medium oil using the small size slurry phase reactor. DME production yield and the methanol selectivity decreased in the order: n-hexadecane oil> mineral oil> therminol oil. The long-term test of DME production was carried out using A and B type catalyst, and n-hexadecane oil and mineral oil, respectively. It was confirmed that the use of A type for the catalyst and n-hexadecane for the reaction medium oil was very useful for the viewpoint of the DME production form the synthesis gas.

  • An internal finishing process by the application of magnetic abrasive machining has been developed as a new technology to obtain a fine inner surface of pipe. In this paper, a slurry circulation system was designed and manufactured. Its finishing characteristics was experimently investigated by various effective factors such as dry, water flow, oil flow with a slurry. From the experimental results, it was found that the materal removal and surface roughness were good in oil flow with slurry. The slurry circulation system is effective on the internal finishing of non-ferromagnetic pipe(SUS304).

  • 어룡무연탄의 수력채탄시 산출될 수 있는 -200mesh의 분탄과 물위 슬러리를 COM(Coal Oil Mixture)화에 의하여 탈수시킴에 있어서 고분자응집제를 병행한 효과를 상징액의 빛 투과율로 조사하였다. 경유와 음이온 고분자응집제(A110)를 같이 사용하면 경유로만 응집시킬 때보다 낮은 교반속도에서도 COM이 형성되며 대단히 높은 상징액의 청정도를 보인다. 이때의 고분자응집제의 소요농도는 100g/t이고 경유의 소요량은 석탄량의 10%정도이다.

  • 어룡탄광에서 산출되는 저질인 무연탄 슬러리를 Oil agglomeration 처리법으로 탈수하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 저질 무연탄은 기름과 응집체(COM)를 형성하여 물과의 비중차이에 의해서 약 80%까지 분리되고 이때 COM을 만드는 각각 석유, 경유 또는 중유의 첨가량은 시료량의 10%정도이다. 무연탄에서 가연성분을 회수하고 회분을 제거할 수 있는 능력은 기름의 첨가율, 광액 농도, 광립의 입도, 교반시간, 교반강도에 크게 영향을 받는다. 최적조건인 상태에서 가연물질의 회수율은 약 95%까지 증가되었고, 회분의 함유율은 30%에서 13.5%로 감소되었다.

  • Biodegradation potential of crude oil has been studied in liquid and soil slurry culture. Studies were performed to optimize the factors affecting metabolic activity. Arabian Light(sulfur content 1%) was used as a representative crude oil and Nocardia sp. was selected as an oil degrading microorganism based on its ability to degrade and emulsify Effects of various nutritional and environmental conditions as well as emulsification and surface tension were observed. Tentative optimization of environmental and nutritional condition were as follow; pH 8, sodium nitrate as inorganic nitrogen source, yeast extract 0.05%, phosphate concentration 0.25% and glucose addition of 1.0% (w/v basis), extent of degradation to 78 %.

Compositional Characterization of Petroleum Heavy Oils Generated from Vacuum Distillation and Catalytic Cracking by Positive-mode APPI FT-ICR Mass Spectrometry

  • Molecular compositions of two types of heavy oil were studied using positive atmospheric pressure photoionization (APPI) Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS). Vacuum gas oil (VGO) was generated from vacuum distillation of atmospheric residual oil (AR), and slurry oil (SLO) was generated from catalytic cracking of AR. These heavy oils have similar boiling point ranges in the range of 210-$650^{\circ}C$, but they showed different mass ranges and double-bond equivalent (DBE) distributions. Using DBE and carbon number distributions, aromatic ring distributions, and the extent of alkyl side chains were estimated. In addition to the main aromatic hydrocarbon compounds, those containing sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen heteroatoms were identified using simple sample preparation and ultra-high mass resolution FT-ICR MS analysis. VGO is primarily composed of mono- and di-aromatic hydrocarbons as well as sulfur-containing hydrocarbons, whereas SLO contained mainly polyaromatic hydrocarbons and sulfur-containing hydrocarbons. Both heavy oils contain polyaromatic nitrogen components. SLO inludes shorter aromatic alkyl side chains than VGO. This study demonstrates that APPI FT-ICR MS is useful for molecular composition characterization of petroleum heavy oils obtained from different refining processes.

Pitch-based carbon fibers from coal tar or petroleum residue under the same processing condition

  • Spinnable pitches and carbon fibers were successfully prepared from petroleum or coal pyrolysis residues. After pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO), slurry oil, and coal tar were simply filtered to eliminate the solid impurities, the characteristics of the raw materials were evaluated by elemental analysis, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOF-MS), and so on. Spinnable pitches were prepared for melt-spinning carbon fiber through a simple distillation under strong nitrogen flow, and further vacuum distillation to obtain a high softening point. Carbon fibers were produced from the above pitches by single-hole melt spinning and additional heat treatment, for oxidization and carbonization. Even though spinnable pitches and carbon fibers were processed under the same conditions, the melt-spinning and properties of the carbon fiber were different depending on the raw materials. A fine carbon fiber could not be prepared from slurry oil, and the different diameter carbon fibers were produced from the PFO and coal tar pitch. These results seem to be closely correlated with the initial characteristics of the raw materials, under this simple processing condition.

  • A bench scale slurry bubble column reactor (SBCR) with active-Fe based catalyst was developed for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) reaction. Considering the highly exothermic reaction heat generated in the bench scale SBCR, an effective cooling system was devised consisting of a U-type dip tube submerged in the reactor. Also, the physical and chemical properties of the catalyst were controlled so as to achieve high activity for the CO conversion and liquid oil ($C_{5+}$) production. Firstly, the FTS performance of the FeCuK/$SiO_2$ catalyst in the SBCR under reaction conditions of $265^{\circ}C$, 2.5 MPa, and $H_2/CO=1$ was investigated. The CO conversion and liquid oil ($C_{5+}$) productivity in the reaction were 88.6% and 0.226 $g/g_{cat}-h$, respectively, corresponding to a liquid oil ($C_{5+}$) production rate of 0.03 bbl/day. To investigate the FTS reaction behavior in the bench scale SBCR, the effects of the space velocity and superficial velocity of the synthesis gas and reaction temperature were also studied. The liquid oil production rate increased upto 0.057 bbl/day with increasing space velocity from 2.61 to 3.92 $SL/h-g_{Fe}$ and it was confirmed that the SBCR bench system developed in this research precisely simulated the FTS reaction behavior reported in the small scale slurry reactor.

암반구간의 슬러리 쉴드 TBM의 버력운송 파이프 마모에 관한 연구 (A study on the discharge pipes wear of slurry shield TBM in rock strata)

  • 본 연구에서는 광산이나 오일샌드 등의 분야에서 적용되고 있는 슬러리 파이프 마모량 측정 방법과 슬러리 파이프의 마모량 예측에 관련된 이론식들을 문헌연구를 통해 살펴보고, 실제 싱가포르 슬러리 쉴드 TBM 현장에서 주기적으로 측정한 직선부 슬러리 파이프의 두께 측정 자료로부터 평균 일일 마모율과 굴착거리당 마모율을 산정하였다. Bukit Timah Granite의 풍화등급에 따른 마모율을 구하였는데, 풍화토에 가까운 G (V) 등급 지반 및 G (III)/G (V)의 복합지반에서의 마모율이 G(I)~G (IV)의 암반 등급지반에 비해서 1.5배 높게 나타났다. 슬러리 파이프 마모율은 슬러리 운송속도에 비례하여 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 향후 지반특성 별 파이프 마모율과 합리적인 관리두께 선정을 통하여 보다 최적화된 슬러리 파이프의 교체 및 회전 주기를 산정할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

제조조건을 달리한 유과의 품질 비교 (Comparison of Some Characteristics Relevant to Yukwa(Fried Rice Cookie) made by Different Processing Conditions)

  • Physicochemical and sensory characteristics of Yukwa(fried rice cookie) made by different processing condition were investigated to estabilish the optimum expansion of Yukwa. The expansion rate and crispness of Yukwa prepared by soaking waxy rice for 24 hours was satisfactory . Addition of 15% soy slurry gave better effect on increasing the expantion rate, crispiness and sensory preference than no addition of soy slurry . Yeast, Soju(distilled liquor) , Mackeali(rice wine, turbid) and Chunju(rice wine, clear) as expansion reagent were added to Yukwa prepration . Yeast and Mackeali among tested expansion reagent showed better expansion rate and lower hardness meausred by texturometer than Chunju. Yukwa added chungju showed more fine structure and lower expantion rate than others. Microwave puffed Yukwa was less expansion rate, but same level of crispiness and hardness compared with oil puffed. And no difference in sensory characteristics such as degree of crispiness and stickiness of microwave puffed and oil puffed.
