  • This study aims to find new solutions to the problem of utilization of materials and techniques represented in the development of modern lighting design. LED is an important component in modern lighting design and pine tree is one of the most popular domestic wood in furniture design in Korea. In this study, design is developed into various types of furniture such as a table, a chest, and a lighting, by researching manufacturing process and examining the use of slicing pine tree. The technique of slicing pine tree is a simple linear arrangement that was traditionally used in wooden furniture in Lee dynasty, with an emphasis on repetitive rhythm. The slicing technology is used to expand the usage of domestic pine tree. The beauty of natural wood is expressed with the transmission of light by applying this technique to the lighting design. It also brings new communication in between artificial lighting and natural wood combining this traditional technique and LED lighting in design. Finally, this study suggests particular value through the convergence of analog and digital by using the traditional wooden technique that keeps natural wood prints and new digital technology by using LED lighting. More discussions and research about this subject are expected continuously through this study.

  • Software testing is important to determine the reliability of the system, a task that requires a lot of effort and cost. Model-based testing has been proposed as a way to reduce these costs by automating test designs from models that regularly represent system requirements. For each path of model to generate an input value to perform a test, meta-heuristic technique is used to find the test data. In this paper, we propose an automatic test data generation method using a slicing method and a priority policy, and suppress unnecessary computation by excluding variables not related to target path. And then, experimental results show that the proposed method generates test data more effectively than conventional method.

  • Recently, the biometric recognition technology of veins in different parts of hand is very active. In this paper the image hierarchical slicing provides a way to detect vein patterns. The scanned vein image will be sliced into various thicknesses. We first get the average brightness values of the sliced image and then convert them into curvature where we can detect candidates of the vein. The candidates of the vein are used to do a further analysis. We search all of the vein candidates and analyze them to get the real vein pattern in the overlapping extraction. We propose this novel algorithm to detect the vein pattern from the original image.

  • With the broad adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) in a variety of scenarios and application services, management and orchestration entities require upgrading the traditional architecture and develop intelligent models with ultra-reliable methods. In a heterogeneous network environment, mission-critical IoT applications are significant to consider. With erroneous priorities and high failure rates, catastrophic losses in terms of human lives, great business assets, and privacy leakage will occur in emergent scenarios. In this paper, an efficient resource slicing scheme for optimizing federated learning in software-defined IoT (SDIoT) is proposed. The decentralized support vector regression (SVR) based controllers predict the IoT slices via packet inspection data during peak hour central congestion to achieve a time-sensitive condition. In off-peak hour intervals, a centralized deep neural networks (DNN) model is used within computation-intensive aspects on fine-grained slicing and remodified decentralized controller outputs. With known slice and prioritization, federated learning communications iteratively process through the adjusted resources by virtual network functions forwarding graph (VNFFG) descriptor set up in software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) enabled architecture. To demonstrate the theoretical approach, Mininet emulator was conducted to evaluate between reference and proposed schemes by capturing the key Quality of Service (QoS) performance metrics.

  • The rapid development of mobile communication not only has made the industry gradually diversified, but also has enhanced the service quality requirements of users. In this regard, it is imperative to consider jointly network slicing and mobile edge computing. The former mainly ensures the requirements of varied vertical services preferably, and the latter solves the conflict between the user's own energy and harsh latency. At present, the integration of the two faces many challenges and need to carry out at different levels. The main target of the paper is to minimize the energy consumption of the system, and introduce a multi-slice joint task offloading and resource allocation scheme for massive multiple input multiple output enabled heterogeneous networks. The problem is formulated by collaborative optimizing offloading ratios, user association, transmission power and resource slicing, while being limited by the dissimilar latency and rate of multi-slice. To solve it, assign the optimal problem to two sub-problems of offloading decision and resource allocation, then solve them separately by exploiting the alternative optimization technique and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions. Finally, a novel slices task offloading and resource allocation algorithm is proposed to get the offloading and resource allocation strategies. Numerous simulation results manifest that the proposed scheme has certain feasibility and effectiveness, and its performance is better than the other baseline scheme.

  • 3D printing technology is changing the paradigm of consumer-oriented design in supplier-oriented mass production. 3D printing technology in construction is expected to be able to replace existing wet methods along with modular construction. Recently, a number of cases of building construction using 3D printing using mortar-based materials have been announced in many regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia. In this study, we developed a design support tool with a slicing function to output 3D modeling for architecture for a 3D printing machine. We analyzed the process and the function of slicing programs that are commercially available. Seven slicing functions required for the architectural field were derived by analyzing cases, expert reviews, and related literature. The derived functions were extended from the slicing functions to develop the design support tools. Detailed algorithms and processes need to be developed for future derived functions.

  • Average memory occupancy and congestion in computer system or communication system may be reduced further if new jobs are admitted only when the number of jobs queued at CPU is below a certain threshold, run queue cutoff (RQ). In our previous paper we showed that response time of a job is invariant with respect to RQ if jobs do not communicate each other. In this paper, we prove that the invariance property by considering the evolution of the queue lengths as point processes. We also present an approximate method for the delay due to context switching under time slicing.

  • This paper is compared the build time of scanning path as to laminate height of the SLC and STL file. The STL file improve the surface roughness according to slicing height. But it have the fault spending long time to the creation of scanning path by being lower slicing height. So we proposed the SLC file to improve this fault. Therefore this paper showed to the build time of scanning path by the increase of peace using the jewellery model.

  • STEP is a neutral model for exchanging CAD modelbetween different CAD systms. The paper presents a laser path contour generation for rapid prototyping originated form STEP format files without using any tools nor libraries for STEP data manipulation. Polygons are generated from every point on the layer of given thickness, which are the intersections of layer plane and edges stored in entity tables. Curves are approximated with polygons whitin segment tolerance limit in order to cover sculptured surfaces. With the advantage of less data loss in direct slicing over STL formats, the system developed in this work shows a good potential to provide data share with various CAD systems including RP data preparation.
