성조숙증과 수면에 관한 임상연구동향 (Clinical Research Trends on Precocious Puberty and Sleep)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is understanding the trend of clinical researches on the correlation between precocious puberty and sleep. Methods 18 papers were searched by using keywords 'Precious publicity' and 'Sleep' in Pubmed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and those were analyzed for this study. Results Children aged 6 to 18 were participated in longitudinal studies and questionnaire surveys. Hormone levels and EEG were also measured in those children. This study had placed emphasis on the sleeping time and sleep quality, and sex hormones secretion during sleep and changes in the hormone secretion related to the sleep cycles. Historically, oriental medicine studies have demonstrated that there were correlations between precocious puberty and sleep. There are studies from China showed the importance of lifestyle management in preventing and treating precocious puberty, especially with light exposure during sleep. Conclusions Sleep is closely correlated with precocious puberty and it is an important factor to be considered in the prevention and treatment of precocious puberty.

  • 뇌의 신호는 관측 대상의 상태 및 관측 위치에 따라 신호가 다양하게 변화하기 때문에 연구하기 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 사람이 수면 전에 수행한 일이 수면 중에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 실험을 수행한다. 이를 위해서, EEG와 fMRI 장비로 피실험자의 뇌의 신호를 획득하고 분석한다. 시간에 따라 변화하는 뇌 신호를 분석하기 위해서 conditional random fields를 이용한다. 피실험자는 수면 전에 미로 찾기 게임과 얼굴 찾기 게임을 수행하며, 이 중 하나의 게임만 성공할 수 있다. 주어진 게임에 성공하면 이에 대한 보상을 받는다. 그리고 피실험자는 EEG와 fMRI 장비에서 수면을 취한다. 수면 중 깊은 잠으로 분류되는 N3상태에 도달하면, 얼굴 찾기를 성공한 그룹에서는 수면 전에 얼굴 찾기를 수행하는 동안 활성화 됐던 뇌의 영역이 미로 찾기를 성공한 그룹보다 상대적으로 유의미하게 활성화되는 것을 알 수가 있었다. 반대로 미로 찾기 성공 그룹에서도 같은 현상이 발생하였다.

요양시설 노인의 수면의 질이 인지기능 및 우울감, 일상생활활동과의 관련성 연구 (The Relationship Between the Quality of Sleep and the Cognitive Function, Depression, and Activities of Daily Living in the Institutionalized Elderly)

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality and cognitive function, depression, and institutionalized elderly activity. The goal is to improve the quality of life through early intervention in the sleeping problems of the elderly hospitalized in the nursing home. Method Twentythree patients who were diagnosed with CDR (clinical dementia grade) 0.5 ~ 2 stages by a psychiatrist from September 3 to 30, 2017 were measured for sleep status, depression, cognitive function and activities of daily living at the same time once a day. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS (v.21, IBM, USA) program. Results The correlation between sleep status and cognitive function, depression, and activities of daily living was not statistically significant, and there was a moderate correlation between cognitive function and depression. Conclusion The results of this study suggest that the development and application of a program that activates the cognitive function that is institutionalized with a positive correlation between cognitive function and depression will be effective in decreasing depression in the elderly patients hospitalized in the nursing home.

건강행위와 신체건강 및 정신건강이 중년여성의 건강관련 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 : 2014년 한국의료패널 자료 이용 (Effect of Heath behavior, Physical health and Mental health on Heath-related Quality of Life in Middle aged Women : By using the 2014 Korea Health Panel Data)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and investigate the relevant factors for middle aged women using the 2014 Korea Health Panel data. Methods: The Korea Health Panel data 2014 were collected from February to August 2014 by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs and the National Health Insurance Corporation and included 2,075 people who responded to the questionnaire. Using SPSS WIN program, the data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Limited activity was the most influential factor for the health-related quality of life of middle-aged women. For health behavior, the factors affecting HRQoL were drinking, sleeping time, and physical activity. For physical health, factors affecting HRQoL were vision problems, eating problems, and hearing problems. For mental health, the factors affecting HRQoL were suicidal impulse, stress, and frustration. Conclusion: These results indicated that to improve HRQoL for middle-aged women, limited activity and suicidal impulses should be addressed.

Temporal and Spatial Traffic Analysis Based on Human Mobility for Energy Efficient Cellular Network

  • With the drastic growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, global energy consumption is exponentially increased by mobile communications. The huge energy consumption and increased environmental awareness have triggered great interests on the research of dynamic distribution of cell user and traffic, and then designing the energy efficient cellular network. In this paper, we explore the temporal and spatial characteristics of human mobility and traffic distribution using real data set. The analysis results of cell traffic illustrate the tidal effect in temporal and spatial dimensions and obvious periodic characteristics which can be used to design Base Station (BS) dynamic with sleeping or shut-down strategy. At the same time, we designed a new Cell Zooming and BS cooperation mode. Through simulation experiments, we found that running in this mode can save about 35% of energy consumption and guarantee the required quality of service.

대학입학전형별 교육투자 비교 분석 (An Analysis between College Entrance Exam Types and Educational Investment)

  • 본 연구는 한국교육고용패널 자료를 이용하여 대학입학전형별로 서로 다른 교육투자행태를 보이는지 확인해보았다. 분석 결과, 수시전형으로 대학에 입학한 학생들의 연평균 사교육비와 일주일 평균 혼자서 공부한 시간이 정시전형으로 대학에 입학한 학생들보다 낮았고, TV 시청, 컴퓨터 이용 등과 같은 여가시간과 수면시간이 더 긴 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학입학 제도가 교육투자의 양태를 바꿀 가능성을 보여주며, 나아가 필요한 인적자본투자를 효율적으로 이루어지도록 유도할 가능성도 있음을 보여준다.

Behavioral characteristics of Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) steers at different growth stages and seasons

  • Objective: This research analyzed behavioral characteristics of Hanwoo (Bos taurus coreanae) steers during each season and growth stage to enable measurement of the animals' welfare level for precision livestock farming. Methods: A hundred-eight beef steers were divided into three equal groups at a Hanwoo farm according to their growth stage: growing stage (GS), 8 months; early-fattening stage (EFS), 19 months; and late-fattening stage (LFS), 30 months. Twelve behavioral categories were continuously recorded for 13 day-time hours in each four seasons with three replications. Results: Time spent standing was found to be significantly longer in summer at all growth stages (p<0.05). Hanwoos at the GS spent significantly longer standing time in spring and summer than those at the EFS and LFS (p<0.05). Lying time in summer was the shortest for all growth stages (p<0.05). Steers at the LFS spent significantly longer lying time than that at the GS (p<0.05) in summer. For GS and EFS, time spent eating in spring and autumn were longer than in summer and winter (p<0.05). Eating time was the longest for the GS in spring, autumn, and winter, excluding for the LFS in winter (p<0.05). Regarding ruminating, steers at the LFS spent significantly shorter time than those at other stages in all seasons (p<0.05). GS and EFS steers showed the longest walking time in summer compared with other seasons (p<0.05). At GS and LFS, drinking time in summer was the longest of all seasons (p<0.05). Sleeping time was significantly shorter in summer compared with the other seasons (p<0.05). Self-grooming time was the longest in winter for all growth stages (p<0.05). Conclusion: Steers were found to have more variable behavioral patterns during summer and the GS and less active behaviors during the LFS, thus extra care seems necessary during the GS, LFS, and summer period.

성능 향상을 위한 퍼지 논리 기반 DASH 알고리즘의 수정 (A Modification of The Fuzzy Logic Based DASH Adaptation Algorithm for Performance Improvement)

  • 본 논문에서는 시변 네트워크 상황에서 끊김 없는 미디어 서비스를 제공 할 수 있는 퍼지 논리 기반 DASH 적응 알고리즘(FDASH)의 수정을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 퍼지 논리 제어부(FLC : Fuzzy Logic Controller)의 수정을 통하여 다음 요청 할 세그먼트의 비트율에 대해 최적의 판단을 하도록 하고, 세그먼트 비트율 필터링 모듈(SBFM : Segment Bit-rate Filtering Module)을 적용하여 비디오 화질의 변화 횟수를 줄인다. 또한, 스트리밍 서비스를 시작 할 때 사용자들이 일정시간 저화질의 비디오를 시청해야 하는 상황을 막는 시작 메커니즘(Start Mechanism)과 버퍼의 오버플로우를 방지하는 대기 메커니즘(Sleeping Mechanism)을 포함한다. 최종적으로 제안된 알고리즘이 FDASH에 비해 좋은 성능을 가짐을 NS-3를 이용한 모의실험을 통해 검증한다. 모의실험 결과, 제안된 방식이 FDASH에 비해 제한된 버퍼크기 상황 하에서도 버퍼 언더플로우/오버플로우가 발생하지 않음을 확인하였다. 또한 점대점(Point-to-Point) 환경과 Wi-Fi환경에서 거의 동일 화질 성능을 보이면서도 비디오 화질 변화 횟수를 50% 이상 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

어싱매트가 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Earthing Mat on the Quality of Sleep)

  • Objectives: Using as a sleep evaluation tool the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), this paper studied the effects of earthing on the amount and quality of sleep by examining a patient population of people who used and did not use earthing mats and a group of general healthy people. Methods: From September to November 2019, 30 patients who voluntarily used an earthing mat, 40 patients who did not use an earthing mat, and 40 healthy people who did not use an earthing mat were selected. A questionnaire applying the PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) after being translated into Korean was distributed starting November 29, 2019 to 110 subjects. Out of them, 101 subjects who completed the questionnaire were examined. All statistics used SPSS 25.0. Results: The first overall score showed that all three groups had problems sleeping, with five points or more, but the general population had better sleep quality than the patient group. It also showed that the using matgroup had better quality of sleep than the ones that did not use the earthing mat In addition, the analysis of the third group through the variance analysis showed significance at >0.05 for the general population and the patient group. Based on this, a multi-comparison analysis of the third group showed significantly less than 0.05 in patients who do not use an earthing mat compared to the public. First of all, there are no statistically significant differences between the three groups in subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, and sleep time, but an analysis of multiple comparison analysis with the general population group showed that the quality of sleep was worse compared to those that used the mat. In addition, sleep efficiency, sleep disorder, sleeping pills, and daytime dysfunction were found to be less than >0.05 in the three groups. Conclusions: These results suggest that if you ground your body to Earth during sleep, the secretion of cortisol will decrease night levels, sync more with the natural 24-hour circulation rhythm profile, and that when you sleep, sleep is better and pain and stress are associated with the study. While the preceding study cannot confirm that contact with the ground affects the quality of sleep, it suggests that it is relevant as shown in this paper.

근로자(勤勞者)의 양생수준(養生水準)과 스트레스와의 관계(關係) (A Study on the Relations between Yangseng Level and Stress in Industrial Workers)

  • This study aims at grasping the relativity between laborers' yangseng level and stress so as to present the groundwork for preventive oriental medicine approach in industrial health. The researcher prepared the questionnaire on general character, health-related yangseng level and chose 632 people to execute Autonomic balance test through heartbeat change. The collected material was analyzed by SPSS and tested by T-test, ANOVA. The general yangseng level average is 3.27, morality yangseng 3.91, sleep yangseng 3.39, mind yangseng 3.32, sex life yangseng 3.29, exercise yangseng 3.14, activities and rest yangseng 3.07, diet yangseng 2.95, seasonal yangseng 2.84. The highest is morality yangseng and seasonal yangseng is the lowest. In the aspect of yangseng level : Having a spouse, Non-smoking, Non-drinking, Regular exercising, Sufficient sleeping have higher yanseng levels. In Autonomic balance test, age from 35 to 40 has the highest autonomic activity and job period from 5 years to 10 years has the highest stress resistance. Non-smokers have high autonomic activity and stress resistance. Further, have low autonomic balance, stress index and fatigue strength. In the case of regular exercising person, he/she has high autonomic activity and stress resistance with low stress index. Regarding sleeping time, autonomic balance is the highest when he/she sleeps less than 6 hours. Stress resistance is the highest when he/she sleeps 7 hours and stress index is the highest when he/she sleeps 6 hours. After comparing the relativity between yangseng level autonomic balance test, only exercise yangseng has plus factor on autonomic activity and stress resistance and minus factor on stress ind ex and fatigue strength. Yangseng level has been affected by individual character and daily habits. Also stress is more influenced by daily habits than by individual character. We can find the relativity of exercise yangseng between yangseng and stress which suggests that we need to take measures to win over stress in individual health in the near future.
