과학기술위성 1호 탑재 컴퓨터(On-board Computer)에서의 SEUs(Single Event Upsets) 극복 알고리즘 (Algorithm to cope with SEUs(Single Event Upsets) on STSAT-1 OBC(On-board Computer))

  • 보통 저궤도를 선회하는 위성은 자기장으로 연결된 반알렌대를 통과하며, 이 안에 갇혀 주기적인 운동으로 남극과 북극을 이동하는 하전입자에 의해 부품이 손상되고 수명이 단축되는 악 영향을 받고 있다. 그중 방사선에 의한 SEU (Single Event Upset) 등은 우주선에 탑재된 반도체 소자의 오동작 유발의 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 우주환경 방사선에서 고려해야 할 점들 중에서 특히 과학기술위성 1호 탑재 컴퓨터(On-board Computer, OBC)에서의 싱글이벤트업셋(Single Event Upset, SEU)의 영향을 고찰해 보고 거기에서 극복할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제시하고 있다. SEU 누적을 방지하기 위하여 매 일정한 시간마다 전체 메모리를 읽고/쓰는 과정(memory wash)이 필요하며 워쉬 주기 선정에 대해서도 고찰했다. 이러한 실험은 과학기술위성 시리즈 및 저궤도 위성용 탑재 컴퓨터의 성능 저하를 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 다목적 실용위성 시리즈의 각 모듈 개발에도 적극 활용 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

단방향 및 양방향 교통신호등주의 지진응답 분석 (Investigation of Seismic Responses of Single- and Bi-Directional Traffic Light Poles)

  • The seismic responses of traffic light poles are investigated using a finite element analysis. Among the traffic light poles, single- and bi-directional traffic light poles are considered since such poles are frequently installed on vehicle roads. For a more detailed investigation, three different lengths of the mast arm are considered for each directional pole. For a time-history analysis, six actual and two artificial earthquakes are considered and applied to each direction of the poles (x and y) to investigate which direction input provides more significant responses due to the unsymmetrical structural shape. Herein, the x and y directions are respectively parallel and perpendicular based on the single mast pole case. From the analysis results, the average maximum displacement response is developed with the x-direction input case for both types of light poles. Also, the bi-directional traffic light poles show a 13% larger response than the single-directional traffic light poles. Even though the y-direction input case produces a smaller response, the response difference between the single- and bi-directional light poles considerably increases by about 60%. The average maximum acceleration responses are almost similar for both types of light poles.

Performance Improvement in Single-Phase Electric Spring Control

  • Two objectives can be pursued simultaneously with the ${\delta}$ control of a single-phase electric spring (ES). These objectives are the stabilization of the voltage across the critical load (CL) of a power system, and the achievement of a specific functionality similar to the pure compensation of reactive power or the correction of the power factor. However, existing control systems implementing the ${\delta}$ control do not cope with non-ideal operating conditions, such as line voltage distortions, and exhibit a somewhat sluggish regulation of the CL voltage. In an effort to improve both the steady-state and transient performances of an ES power system, this paper proposes implementing the ${\delta}$ control by means of a control system built up on the repetitive control and assisted by state feedback with pole assignment. This paper starts by analyzing the dynamics of an ES power system in terms of its poles and zeros. After that, a reduced second-order model of the dynamics is formulated to avoid a notch filter in the pole assignment. A repetitive control for an ES power system is then designed to meet the two above mentioned objectives. Experimental tests carried out on a laboratory setup demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control system in significantly improving the ES power system performance, while reaching the two objectives. In particular, the tests outline the large mitigation of harmonics in the CL voltage under line voltage distortions and its fast stabilization action.

A Low Insertion-Loss, High-Isolation Switch Based on Single Pole Double Throw for 2.4GHz BLE Applications

  • A low insertion-loss, high-isolation switch based on single pole double throw (SPDT) for a 2.4GHz Bluetooth low-energy transceiver is presented in this paper. In order to increase isolation, the body floating technique is implemented. Based on characteristics whereby the ratio of the sizes of the shunt and the series transistors significantly affect the performance of the switches, the device sizes are optimized. A simple matching network is also designed to enhance the insertion loss. Thus, the SPDT switch has high isolation and low insertion loss without increasing the complexity of the circuit. The proposed SPDT is designed and simulated in a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor 65nm process. The switch has a $530{\mu}m{\times}270{\mu}m$ area and achieves 0.9dB, 1.78dB insertion loss and 40dB, 41dB isolation of transmission, reception modes, respectively.

  • 본 논문은 마이크로 스트립 라인을 무선 랜(IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.llg)에 사용할 수 있는 SPDT FET 스위치를 설계하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 특히 주파수에 따른 능동소자의 영향을 최소화하기 위하여 임피던스 변환회로를 적용하여 설계하였다. 이 SPDT스위치 수신경로의 삽입손실은 2(㎓)에서 4(㎓)까지 0.8(㏈)에서 1.462(㏈)를 나타내고 있으며, 4.7(㎓)에서 6.7(㎓)까지 1.26(㏈)에서 2.3(㏈)을 보이고, 격리도는 2[㎓)에서 6.7(㎓)의 대역에서 30(㏈)이하를 나타낸다. 그리고 송신경로에서의 삽입손실은 2(㎓)에서 4(㎓)까지 1.18(㏈)에서 2.87(㏈)를 나타내고 있으며, 4.7(㎓)에서 6.7(㎓)까지 0.625(㏈)에서 1.2(㏈)을 나타내고 있다. 격리도는 2(㎓)에서 6.7(㎓)의 대역에서 30(㏈)이하를 나타낸다

  • 본 논문에서는 결함접지구조(Defected Ground Structure: DGS)의 전파 지연 특성을 이용하여 소형으로 구현한 휴대 인터넷용 고전력 Single Pole Double Throw(SPDT) 스위치의 특성이 제공되며 1/4 파장 전송선을 이용하여 제작된 일반적인 방식의 스위치와 그 특성이 비교된다. DGS를 활용하여 제작된 스위치는 높은 격리도를 확보하기 위해 병렬구조의 다이오드를 사용하여 구성되었으며 2.3 GHz에서 0.8 dB의 삽입 손실과 50 dB 이상의 격리도 특성을 보였고 50 W 이상의 전력을 다룰 수 있었다. DGS를 활용한 스위치는 기존의 전송선 방식의 스위치와 거의 동일한 스위칭 특성을 보이면서도 $50\%$ 가까운 회로의 크기 감소를 달성할 수 있었다.

다양한 변조 신호의 1.8 GHz 대역 VSWR 측정 개선에 관한 연구 (Improvement of VSWR Measurement for Various Modulated Signals at 1.8 GHz Band)

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 변조 신호에 대한 1.8 GHz 대역 VSWR을 구하는 방법을 제시하였다. 방향성 결합기를 이용하여 입사 전력과 반사 전력을 측정하였으며, 측정 회로 크기와 비용을 최소화하기 위해 SPDT(Single Pole Double Throw) 스위치를 사용하여 한 개의 검파기와 한 개의 AD(Analog to Digital) 변환기로 회로 구현이 가능하게 되었다. MCU(Micro Control Unit)를 이용하여 전압 반사 계수와 VSWR을 계산하였으며, 다양한 변조 신호에 대한 측정오차를 줄이고 MCU의 처리 시간 및 부하를 최소화하기 위해, 간단한 버블정렬 알고리즘을 적용하여 비적용한 경우보다 0.2의 VSWR 오차를 개선할 수 있었다.

파이프 골조 온실의 조립 연결구 내력 시험 (Experimental Analysis on Yield Strength of Pipe Connectors and Joints for Pipe Framed Greenhouses)

  • Experiments on the yield strength of pipe connectors made of metal wire, joint pins, pole pipes, multi span insertion joints, and T-clamp joints used in pipe houses were conducted. The strength of connections of a pipe connector made of metal wire was adequate but it had a big difference according to loading direction. Therefore as it is installed, its direction should be taken into consideration. The collapse load of pipes connected with a joint pin was lower than that of single pipes. In the part of frame member at which the great bending moment occurs, the use of joint pin should be avoided. Also experimental results showed that pole pipes for use in a part of frame buried under the ground were safe, and the strength of multi span insertion joints should be increased. The resistant moment of T-clamp was about 13.7% of a single pipe. In case that the external forces acting on left and right rafter are different. a unsymmetrical rotational force is produced at the multi span joint. If it is expected that the actual bending moment on the multi span joint is larger than resistant moment of T-clamp, a reinforcement to safely resist the rotational force is required.

  • A multi pole SRM(switched reluctance motor) is applied by the regulated current in regular sequence. So, it can be started by itself. But a single phase SRM can not be started by itself because the positive torque is only generated in the limited zone which the inductance is increased. Therefore, it is required auxiliary device for self starting which place the rotor in start position. The prototype was designed and fabricated in the previous research. It has the permanent magnet, which is installed in the bottom of the rotor, for self starting. But the permanent magnet affect the prototype during operation and cause the decrease of the torque and speed. The influence of the permanent magnet on the average torque and speed was already confirmed. On this paper, the instant torque of the prototype was calculated from the experiment results which is the inductance and current according to installed permanent magnet or not.
