The PLT thin films on (100) cleaved MgO single crystal substrate have been fabricated by rf magnetron sputtering using a PbO-rich target. The dependence of physical and electrical properties on the degree of c-axis orientation has been studied. The degree of c-axis orientation of PLT thin films depends on fabrication conditions. Fabrication conditions of the PLT thin films were such that substrate temperature, working pressure, gas ratio of $Ar/O_{2}$, and rf power density were $640^{\circ}C$, 10 mTorr, 10 seem, and $1.7\;W/cm^{2}$, respectively. In these conditions, the PLT thin film showed the Pb/Ti ratio of 1/2 at the surface, the resistivity of $8{\times}10^{11}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$, and dielectric constant of 110. The pyroelectric infrared sensors with these PLT thin films showed the peak to peak voltage of 450 m V and signal to noise ratio of 7.2.

KLN thin films were fabricated on Pt coated Si(100) wafer using an rf-magnetron sputtering method. The grown KLN thin film consists of 4-fold grains. In this experiment, the structure of 4-fold grained thin film was investigated using XRD and SEM measurements. Pt layer was also deposited using the rf-magnetron sputtering method,. XRD measurement showed that he Pt thin film has Gaussian distribution form with strong (111) direction orientation. The KLN thin film has preferred-orientation of (001) direction, and the peak consists of 2 separate peaks; one with broad FWHM and the other with narrow FWHM. The sharp peak is due to single crystal, and combining with Em results, the 4-fold grain consists of singel crystals with c-axis normal to substrate.

In this study, we investigated the growth of single-crystallinity α-Ga2O3 thin films on c-plane sapphire substrates using halide vapor pressure epitaxy. We also found the optimal growth conditions to suppress the phase transition of α-Ga2O3. Our results confirmed that the growth temperature and partial pressure of the reactive gas greatly influenced the crystallinity. The optimal growth temperature range was about 460~510℃, and the α-Ga2O3 thin films with the highest crystallinity were obtained at a III/VI ratio of 4. The thickness and surface morphology of the thin films was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The film thickness was 6.938 ㎛, and the full width at half maximum of the ω-2θ scan rocking curve was as small as 178 arcsec. The optical band gap energy obtained was 5.21 eV, and the films were almost completely transparent in the near-ultraviolet and visible regions. The etch pit density was found to be as low as about 6.0 × 104 cm-2.
Thin films of $V_2O_3$, $VO_2$, and $V_2O_5$ were obtained from a single precursor solution through post-annealing processes under different annealing conditions. As annealed in air, the deposited films became $V_2O_5$ with orthorhombic crystal structure, while they were $V_2O_3$ and $VO_2$ with rhombohedral and monoclinic crystal structure as annealed in vacuums with base pressure of $1{\times}10^{-6}$ Torr and with 10 mTorr $O_2$ pressure, respectively. Electrical and optical measurements indicated that the $V_2O_5$ and $VO_2$ films are semiconducting, while the $V_2O_3$ films are metallic at room temperature. Chromium doping in $VO_2$ resulted in a decrease of the resistivity and changed the conduction type from n-type to p-type. 10% Cr-doped $VO_2$ films were found to have orthorhombic crystal structure, which is different from that of the undoped $VO_2$. Spectral features in the optical absorption spectra of all the films were interpreted as the transitions involving O 2p and V 3d bands. The crystal-field splittings between $t_{2g}$ and $e_g$ states of the V 3d bands are estimated to be about 1.5 and 1.0 eV for $V_2O_5$ and $VO_2$, respectively.

Superconducting B $i_2$S $r_2$C $a_{n-l}$C $u_{n}$$O_{x}$(n=2~4) thin films were prepared by single target DC-magnetron sputtering. And, that was compared with the B $i_2$S $r_2$C $a_{n-l}$C $u_{n}$$O_{x}$(n=1~3) thin film fabricated by using the ion beam sputtering. Phase intergrowth among n=2-3, 3-4 and 4-5 phases was observed. The molar fraction of each phase in the mixed crystal of the deposited films was determined by x-ray diffraction analyses and investigated as a function of $O_2$ gas pressure during sputtering. We investigated the changes of the superconducting properties by molar fraction of each phase. Also, the thin film surface observation was carried out by atomic force microscope. The images show the average particle size decreases, and the distribution density of particles on the film surface was to increase with lower gas pressures. The fabrication conditions for selective growth of the single n=2, 3 and 4 phases in BiSrC $a_{n-l}$C $u_{n}$$O_{x}$(n=2~4) thin film are discussed.e discussed.ussed.

[ $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$ ] films have been prepared on $LaAlO_3$ (100) single-crystal substrates by the metal organic deposition using dichloroacetate precursors (DCA-MOD). DCA precursor solutions with different composition such as; Yttrium-excess(15 at%), barium-poor(25 at%), and a stoichiometric(Y:Ba:Cu=1:2:3) were prepared in order to investigate the effects of precursor composition on the properties of YBCO films prepared by DCA-MOD method. Coated films were calcined at low temperature up to $500^{\circ}C$ in flowing humid oxygen atmosphere. Conversion heat treatment was performed $800^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in flowing Ar gas containing 1000 ppm oxygen with a humidity of 9.45%. For the film prepared using excess yttrium composition, high critical current density ($J_c$) of $>2MA/cm^2$ was obtained whereas, for the films prepared using barium-poor composition, $J_c$ was lower than $1MA/cm^2$.

SiC thin films were deposited by chemical vapor deposition method using tetramethylsilane (TMS) and hexamethyldisilane (HMDS). The chamber pressure during the deposition was kept at about 1 torr. Precursor was transported to the reaction chamber by $H_2$gas and SiC deposition was carried out at the reaction temperature of $1200^{\circ}C$. Si-wafer masked with tantalum and MgO single crystal covered with platinum and molybdenum were used as substrates. The selectivity of SiC deposition was observed by comparing the microstructure between metal (Ta, Pt, and Mo) surfaces and substrate surfaces (Si and MgO). The deposited films were identified as the $\beta-SiC$ phase by X-ray diffraction pattern. Also, the deposition -behavior of SiC on each surface was investigated by the scanning electron microscope analysis.
The lanthanum-modified lead titanate (PLT) thin films on (100) cleaved MgO single crystal substrate have been prepared by RF magnetron sputtering method using PbO-rich target with varing La contents. The substrate temperature, working pressure, $Ar/O_{2}$, and RF power density of PLT thin films were $580^{\circ}C$ 10mTorr, 10/1, and $1.7W/cm^{2}$, respectively. In these conditions, the c-axis growth and tetragonality of the PLT thin films decreased for addition of La content and the PLT thin films showed diffuse phase transition from high temperature XRD patterns. The infrared sensor was fabricated. The remanent polarization was above $1.71{\mu}C/cm^{2}$ and the pyroelectric voltage was above 500mV with 10:1 signal to noise ratio.

Lead halide perovskites CH3NH3PbX3 (X=Cl, Br, I) have received great interest in the past few years because of their excellent photoelectronic properties as well as their low-cost solution process. Their theoretical efficiency limit of the solar cell devices was predicted around 31% by a detailed balance model for the reason that exceptional light-harvesting and superior carrier transport properties. Additionally, these excellent properties contribute to the applications of optoelectronic devices such as LASERs, LEDs, and photodetectors. Since these devices are mainly using perovskite thin film, one of the most important factor to decide the efficiency of these applications is the quality of the film. Even though, optoelectrical devices are composed of polycrystalline thin film in general, not a single crystalline form which has longer carrier diffusion length and lower trap density. For these reasons, monodomain perovskite thin films have potential to elicit an optimized device efficiency. In this study, we analyzed the crystallography of the in-plane aligned perovskite thin film by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED). Also the basic optic properties of perovskites were checked using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis spectrum. From this work, the perovskite which is aligned in all directions both of out-of-plane and in-plane was fabricated and analyzed.
The growth mechanism of diamond thin films, deposited by Hot Filament CVD, was investigated through observation of changes in their surface morphology as a function of the substance temperature and deposition time. Amorphous carbon or DLC thin films were deposited at low substrate temperature. Diamond films consisting of square-shaped particles, whose surfaces are (100) planes, were deposited at an intermedate temperature. At high substrate temperatures, diamond films consisting of the particles showing both (100) and (111) plane were deposited. The (100) proferred orientation of the diamond films are believed to be due to a relatively high supersaturation during deposition, and the growth condition for the diamond films having (100) preferred orientation can be applied to the single crystal growth since no twins are generated on the (100) plane. The grain size of the diamond films did not change with increasing temperature and its increasing rate with increasing deposition time was the same irrespective of the substrate temperature. However, the nucleation density increased with substrate temperature and its increasing rate with deposition time was much higher for the films deposited at higher substrate temperature.
