  • This paper describes simulation and experimental results to analyze the dynamic characteristics of STATCOM, which is connected to the ac system for compensation the power factor and improving the voltage stability. The simulation and experimental results confirm that the scaled model for STATCOM can properly compesate the power factor of the load and regulate the bus voltage at the common connection point.

  • This paper deals with dynamic performance of the Cheju - Haenam HVDC system. The purpose of the study is to verify the control characteristics of the HVDC system and to analyze the dynamic performances by simulation study. Because the HVDC system consists of analogue and digital controller, the simulation is achieved with specification model incorporating nonlinear function.   • The safety device of infrared type for dangerous machine being used currently has a harmful effect on human's eye and skin. In this paper we explain about the characteristics of lasr source and analyze the amount of harmfulness on human's eye by simulation method. We used the datas given by ANSI in this simulation.

  • The major objective of this study was to develope a computer simulation model to analyze drying process in a deep bed with natural air. The approach used to describe the continuous drying process in a deep bed was to divide the process into many small processes and simulate them by consecutively calculating the changes of grain and air conditions that occurred during short increment of time. Success criterion of the drying system was based on grain deterioration estimated by drymatter decomposition during drying. The results of the experimental test showed that the model satisfactory.

  • To study the variation of charging efficiency in the engine intake, the method to change the natural frequency of intake system using the intake control valve was studied and it has been used in actual engine to increase the intake air. In this paper, the method of characteristics was used to analyze the non-steady state and compared with the experimental data of the 6-cylinder diesel engine showing the effectiveness of the method theoretically.

  • With the progress of science and technology, animation is no longer about simply describing the nature. People's imagination is elevated to new stage, which not only improve the image in the reality, but also create the absent image in the reality. To analyze according to the existence, these characters have two basic elements. The one is the character existing in the reality, we process and design it according to the artistic technique, so as to make it service for the plot and film (hereafter called documentary character). The other is the character not existing in the reality (hereafter called conceptual character), which is called simulation image by Baudrillard.

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze via computer simulation the robust performance of TDF(Two Degree of Freedom) H.$_{\infty}$ controller for uncertain systems having parameter uncertainty. We apply the TDF H$_{\infty}$ controller to autopilot design. We evaluate the robust performance of the TDF H$_{\infty}$ controller for uncertain systems and present the guaranteed bound of robust performance via computer simulation.on.

  • The concept of FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System) has been widely used in discrete parts manufacturing environment. But, it is very difficult to analyze enotrol FMS due to its complex and dynamic behaviour. This paper describes a Simulation program for performance evaluation of FMS. The program is written in FORTRAN and is capable of simulating different configurations.

  • A finite element program is developed to analyze the flow phenomena in SMC compression molding as a viscoplastic model. The calculation of temperature distribution is also carried out by uncoupling the thermal analysis from the flow analysis. SMC molding processes with a flat plate substructure and the one with a T-shaped rib are considered in numerical simulation. The numerical results provide deformed shapes, temperature distribution in a SMC charge, and the forming load. The simulation of compression molding of a flat plate with a T-shaped rib requires a remeshing technique for the whole process.

  • This study introduces a simulation model of radar responses with frequencies on subsurface voids in concrete. In this model, the resolution and the attenuation according to radar frequencies in each interface which has different electromagnetic property are analyzed. This model aims to select the best frequency of radar which can analyze the thickness of voids in concrete from radar response. It also can be applied to estimate the limitation of propagation depth of radar on subsurface voids in concrete. The computed results show the radar images based on radar signal processing using convolution technique.
