교차로 구간 회전 및 감속을 고려한 트랜스포터 최소 공주행 운영계획 (An Operation Scheduling of Transporters Considering Turns and Passing Delay at the Intersection Roads on the Shipyard)

  • The operation planning of transports used to move blocks is the one of key factors. Furthermore, reducing the running time through the effective plan contributes to pulling forward the whole logistic process of the shipyard and substantially saving the fuel consumption of itself as well. The past researches of the transporter focused on finding only the shortest distances, so called, Manhattan distance. However, these searching approaches cannot help having the significant difference in the real operational time and distance with the minimum cost approach which considers the speed retardation for turns or safety at the intersection. This study suggests the noble transporter's operational model which could take account of the consuming operational time around the crossroads on the shipyard. Concretely, the proposed method guarantees the minimization of transporters' turns and passage number which are huge burdensome to the operation time and the whole planning of transports with the given period. Resultantly, this paper is willing to explain the appropriateness of our approach, compared with the previous ones.

FT반응 Off-gas를 이용한 고압축비 전기점화 엔진의 연소 및 배기가스 특성에 관한 연구 (Combustion and Emission Characteristics in a High Compression Ratio Spark Ignition Engine using Off-gas from FT reaction)

  • FT process is a technology of chemical reactions that converts a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen into liquid hydrocarbons. During the FT process unreacted gas, known as Off-gas which has low-calorie, is discharged. In this study, we developed an engine that utilize simulated Off-gas, and studied the characteristics of the engine. The off-gas composition is assumed to be $H_2$ 70%, CO 15%, $CO_2$ 15% respectively. Under stoichiometric air-fuel ratio, the experiment was conducted at WOT and IMEP 0.3 Mpa changing compression ratio. Ignition timing was applied with MBT timing. Maximum indicated thermal efficiency 37% was achieved at compression ratio 15 under WOT. CO, $CO_2$ and $NO_x$ were influenced by changing compression ratio, and CO emission was satisfied with the US Tier 4 standard for nonroad engine over the entire experimental conditions.

SIMULINK$\circledR$를 이용한 터보프롭 엔진의 성능모사 (Performance Simulation of Turboprop Engine using SIMULINK$\circledR$)

  • SIMULIINK$\circledR$를 이용하여 항공기용 터보프롭 엔진을 모델링한 후 현재 KT-1의 추진기관인 PT6A-62 분리축 터보프롭엔진의 성능을 해석하였다. SIMULIINK$\circledR$ 모델의 검증을 위하여 상용해석 프로그램인 GSTURB 와 비교한 결과 최대오차율 1.07% 이내로 확인되었다. 지상정지 조건에서 블리드 공기유량을 0에서 5%, 보기류 구동에 따른 출력손실을 0에서 20 hp로 가정하고 해석한 결과 축마력은 최대 0.68%감소하며 비연료소모율은 거의 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

모의 TRISO 핵연료입자 코팅층 두께 비파괴 측정을 위한 X-선 영상처리기술 개발 (Development of X-ray Image Processing Technology for Nondestructive Measurement of the Coating Thickness in the Simulated TRISO-coated Fuel Particle)

  • 고온가스냉각 원자로에서는 고온 안정성 및 핵분열생성물 차단 성능이 우수한 TRISO(tri-tsotropic) 핵연료를 사용하고 있다. TRISO 핵연료 입자는 직경이 약 1 mm인 구 형태로 입자의 중심에는 직경 $0.5{\mu}m$의 핵연료 커널(kernel)이 포함되며 커널 외곽을 코팅 층이 에워싸고 있다. 이 코팅 층은 완충(buffer) PyC(pyrolytic carbon) 층, 내부 PyC 층, SiC 층, 그리고 외부 PyC 층으로 구성되어 있다. 각 코팅 층의 두께는 수십${\sim}$${\mu}m$ 범위이며, 본 연구에서는 각 코팅 층의 두께를 비파괴적으로 측정하기 위하여 마이크로포커스 X-선 발생장치와 고해상도 X-선 평판(flat panel) 검출기로 구성된 정밀한 X-선 래디오그래피 장치를 구성하고, $UO_2$ 핵물질 대신에 $ZrO_2$를 커널로 사용한 모의 TRISO 핵연료 입자에 대한 래디오그래피 영상을 획득한 후 디지털 영상처리기술을 이용하여 코팅 층 사이의 경계선이 구분 가능하도록 영상을 개선하고 디지털 영상처리 알고리즘을 개발하여 코팅 층의 두께를 측정하였다.

PEMFC 냉각 시스템의 물부식 방지에 관한 연구 (Study on Corrosion Problems in PEMFC Cooling System)

  • This study focuses on the corrosion problems of STS316(stainless steel 316) tube for the cooling system of PEMFC (Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell) operation. Deionized water which is highly corrosive is used especially for cooling agent of PEMFC to eliminate electrical conductivity, The tensile stress analysis was performed to check the change of mechanical strength of cooling line and pH of the water was monitored for the observation of extent of corrosion at simulated PEMFC operating condition. When STS316 tube was exposed to deionized water for 500 hours, substantial cracks were found on the surface and the pH of water was decreased from 6.8 to 5.8. For prevention of corrosion problems, the STS316 was coated by three kinds of fluororesin such as PTFE, FEP and ETFE. Among the coating materials, PTFE was the most protective in corrosive environment and was maintained the mechanical strength. To lower the cost, the same experimental analyses were carried out for iron tubes and the result will be discussed in detail.

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF FUEL INJECTION IN INTAKE MANIFOLD AND INTAKE PROCESS OF A MPI NATURAL GAS ENGINE

  • Unsteady state free natural gas jets injected from several types of injectors were numerically simulated. Simulations showed good agreements with the schlieren experimental results. Moreover, injections of natural gas in intake manifolds of a single-valve engine and a double-valve engine were predicted as well. Predictions revealed that large volumetric injections of natural gas in intake manifolds led to strong impingement of natural gas with the intake valves, which as a result, gave rise to pronounced backward reflection of natural gas towards the inlets of intake manifolds, together with significant increase in pressure in intake manifold. Based on our simulations, we speculated that for engines with short intake manifolds, reflections of the mixture of natural gas and air were likely to approach the inlets of intake manifolds and subsequently be inbreathed into other cylinders, resulting in non-uniform mixture distributions between the cylinders. For engines with long intake manifolds, inasmuch as the degrees of intake interferences between the cylinders were not identical in light of the ignition sequences, non-uniform intake charge distributions between the cylinders would occur.

  • Ground source heat pumps are clean, energy-efficient and environment-friendly systems cooling and heating. Although the initial cost of ground source heat pump system is higher than that of air source heat pump, it is now widely accepted as an economical system since the installation cost can be returned within an short period of time due to its high efficiency. In the present study, performances of ground source compound hybrid heat pump system applied to a large community building are simulated. The system design and operation process appropriate for the surrounding circumstance guarantee the high benefit of the heat pump system applied to a large community building. If among several renewable energy sources, ground, river, sea, waste water source are chosen as available alternative energies are combined, COP of the system can be increased largely and hybrid heat pump system can reduced the fuel cost.

  • As moving away from fossil fuel makes rapid progress, new paradigm has arisen in the power industry area. Developing alternative energy source is progressing actively, the proportion of renewable energy in electricity production is expected to be increased. Because the output of wind farm depends on wind characteristic, minimizing the output fluctuation is a key to keep the power system controllable and stable. Various compensation scheme for stabilizing the output of wind farm has been developed. Considering some requirements such as reaction velocity, controllability, scalability and applicability, energy storage system is one of the effective methods for spreading of renewable energy. In this paper, method of compensating method with forecasting algorithm was simulated, and then the results was analyzed.

  • A PCV valve is a part to control the flow rate of Blowby gas in a PCV system. A PCV system re-burns Blowby gas with fuel in a combustion chamber. Some gas enters to a crankcase room through the gap between piston ring and engine cylinder wall. This gas si called 'Blowby gas'. This gas causes many problems. In environmental view, Blowby gas includes about $25\~35\%$ hydrocarbon{HC) of total generated HC in an automobile. Hydrocarbon is a very harmful pollutant element in our life. In mechanical view, Blowby gas has some reaction with lubricant oil of crankcase room. Then, this causes lubricant oil contamination, crankcase corrosion and a decrease fo engine efficiency. Consequently, Blowby gas must be eliminated from a crankcase room. In this study, we simulated internal flow characteristics in a PCV valve according to spool dynamic behavior using local remeshing method And, we programmed our sub routine to simulate a spool dynamic motion. As results, spool dynamic behavior is periodically oscillated by the relationship between fluid force and elastic force of spring. And its magnitude is linearly increased by the differential pressure between inlet and outlet. Also, as spool is largely moved, flow area is suddenly decreased at orifice. For this reason, flow velocity is rapidly decreased by viscous effect.

Performance Assessment of a Lithium-Polymer Battery for HEV Utilizing Pack-Level Battery Hardware-in-the-Loop-Simulation System

  • A pack-level battery hardware-in-the-loop simulation (B-HILS) platform is implemented. It consists of dynamic vehicle models using PSAT and multiple control interfaces including real-time 3D driving and GPS mode. In real-time 3D driving mode, user can drive a virtual vehicle using actual drive equipment such as steering wheel and accelerator to generate the cycle profile of the battery. In GPS mode, actual road traffic and terrain effects can be simulated using GPS data while the trajectory is displayed on Google map. In the latter part of the paper, several performance tests of an actual lithium-polymer battery pack are carried out utilizing the developed system. All experiments are conducted as parts of actual development process of a commercial battery pack adopting 2nd generation Prius as a target vehicle model. Through the experiments, the low temperature performance and fuel efficiency of the battery are quantitatively investigated in comparison with the original nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) pack of the Prius.
