A method of calculation fur propagating and focusing of focused beams generated in antenna arrays, using BPM(Beam Propagation Method), is presented in this paper. Based on the diffraction theory, the beam focusing and Propagation is studied specially for the case of the antenna way fed by the Rotman lens that is able to focus microwave power on its focal arc or generate multiple beams. There are difficulties in performing a full-wave simulation using a commercial EM simulation tool for propagating and focusing of beams because of the structural complexity and the feeding assignment of the antenna array. Therefore, as an alternative solution, the BPM is presented to calculate the beam propagation from the aperture-type antennas. From the point of view of optics, the propagations of the lens have been simplified from the Fresnel diffraction integral to the Fourier transform. Using Fourier Transform, a beam propagation method is developed to show improvement of the resolution by controlling the wavefront of wave Propagating from an aperture-type antenna array. The beam width(or spot size) and the intensity are calculated for a focused beam propagating from an array having $10\lambda$ of its size. For the beams with $20\lambda,\;30\lambda$, and $50\lambda$ of geometrical focal length, the half-power beam widths(or spot size) are about 1.1\lambda,\;1.3\lambda,\;and\;1.9\lambda$ respectively.

The Urea-SCR system commercialized shows a remarkable performance to reduce NOx emission in heavy duty diesel engines. However, Urea-water solution injected upstream a mixer, which is set up inside a exhaust pipe to promote exhaust gas-atomized droplet mixing, bumps up against the wall of a exhaust pipe as the droplets flow downstream through the exhaust gas. The urea deposited on the wall of the exhaust pipe is changed into the Urea-salt, resulting in the decreased life-time of the SCR catalysts. Therefore, the development of the urea deposition avoidance technologies is being treated as an important issue of the Urea-SCR systems. An experimental study was carried out to investigate the effects of the wall flow characteristics around the mixer-housing assembly with the variation of the mixer housing surrounding and supporting the mixer, which is designed to increase the wall flow and then to reduce droplet deposition. The flow characteristics was investigated by using a hot-wire anemometry for 2-D simplified duct model, and the housing tilt angles and the position of the mixer were changed : angle of $0^{\circ}$, $1^{\circ}$, $2^{\circ}$, $3^{\circ}$, and mixer positions of 0L, 0.5L, 1L. The results showed that the wall flow onto the exhaust pipe was improved with changing the tilt angle of the mixer housing, and the wall flow improved more when the position of the mixer was on 1L.

A rapid gas chromatographic (GC) profiling method was applied to dairy products (milk and cheeses) for the simultaneous analysis of volatile and nonvolatile organic acids. Cheese samples were first made into aqueous samples by dissolving in water. The aqueous samples were then extracted with organic solvents after the acidification and NaCI saturation. The organic layers (diethyl ether : hexane= 1 : 1) were extracted with $NaHCO_3$ saturated solution with subsequent solid-phase extraction of the aqueous phases using Chromosorb P column/diethyl ether followed by triethylamine treatment. The resulting triethylammonium salts of acids were directly converted into volatile tert.-butyldimethylsilyl derivatives, which were analyzed by dual-capillary column GC, and GC-mass spectrometry. From milk and four cheese samples studied, 31 organic acids including 21 fatty acids and other hydroxy and dioic acids were tentatively identified. The amounts of the fatty acids were different among the kinds of cheese and thus the simplified retention index (RI) spectra of organic acids were useful for the visual pattern recognition of each sample, when the Direct Comparision method between cheese and a blind sample were attempted, it was quickly recognized to be a gouda cheese with the 999 ppt match quality value.

It is clarified in the radioactive waste transfer regulation that the concentration of radioactive waste for the major radio nuclide has to be examined when radioactive waste is guided to the radioactive waste stores. In case of the low level radioactive waste sample, the analytical results of radioactive waste concentration frequently show a value lower than minimum detectable activity (MDA). Since the MDA value basically depends on the amount of a sample, background value, measurement time, counting efficiency, and etc, it would be necessary to increase a sample amount with a intention of minimizing MDA. In order to measure a concentration of $^{129}I$ in low and medium level radioactive waste, $^{129}I$ was collected by using a distillation technique after leaching the simulated radioactive waste sample with a non-volatile acid. The recovery of $^{129}I$ measured was compared with that measured with column elution technique which is a conventional method using an anion-exchange resin. The recovery of inactive iodide by using the distillation method and column elution were found as $86.5{\pm}0.9%$ and $87.3{\pm}2.7%$, respectively. The recovery and MDA value calculated for distillation technique when 100 g of extracted solution of $^{129}I$ was taken, were found to be $84.6{\pm}1.6%$ and $1.2{\times}10^{-4}Bq/g$, respectively. Consequently, the proposed technique with simplified process lowered the MDA value more than 10 times compared to the column elution technique that has a disadvantage of limited sampling amount.

A rapid gas chromatographic profiling method for the simultaneous analysis of free fatty and other acids was applied to vegetable oils. Oil samples were dissolved in dichloromethane and the free acids were extracted with saturated $NaHCO_3$ solution. The aqueous extract was acidified and then loaded onto the Chromosorb P column for the extraction. The acids were eluted with diethyl ether selectively from Chromosorb P column and were treated with triethylamine to prevent the losses of volatile acids. Several long chain fatty acids were detected from soybean oil, rice-bran oil, sesame oil and perilla oil. Various organic acids including odd number fatty acids were detected in crude oil, especially sesame oil. Arachidic acid from perilla oil and vanillic acid from sesame oil, which were not reported before were detected. The content ratio of free linoleic acid to oleic acid was $1.02{\sim}1.18$, which was similar to the reported data. When the GC profile of organic acids were simplified to their corresponding retention index spectra of bar graphical forms, they presented characteristic pattern of each vegetable oil that can be quickly recognized.

The main subject of year 2016 Davos forum was "The 4th Industrial Revolution." Recently, interests and investment in drone market, so called industrial revolution in the sky is growing in many countries around the world. Before, drone was used for military purpose such as reconnaissance or attacking but today, it is used in various private sectors such as unmanned delivery service, agriculture, leisure activities, etc. Presently, many major countries in the world are already involved in the 'war without gunfire' to be dominant in this drone industry. Korean government also has announced an extreme relaxation of regulations for growing drone industry by opening a conference with Ministers related to economics. During the conference, business scope of drone which was limited to agriculture, photographing, and observation was expanded to all the fields except for cases hindering national safety and security. In terms of shooting purpose drone its process of receiving approval for flight and shooting is simplified to online registration. What is more, drone delivery service will be allowed in island areas such as Goheung, Yeongwol, etc from first term of year 2017. Finding the way to apply drone in criminal investigation is also speeding up. Recently, Public Safety Policy Research Center in Korean National Police University has inquired for research service and its result will be out around November. Likewise, although more and stronger foundation for supporting drone industry is made but there are still, some opinions saying that we should take a careful approach in consideration to the side effect such as abuse in crime. One may also try terror by placing a dangerous substance. If drone falls, it may hurt any civilians. Moreover, if shopping purpose drone is hacked, it may result in violation of privacy. Compared to America, Europe, and China, we are at the very beginning stage of drone industry and it is necessary to reorganize legal issues to grow this industry. This can be thought from two perspectives; first, the growth of drone industry is blocked by difficult regulations on Aviation Law and Radio Regulation Law. The second issue is the safety and privacy that are required for operating drone. For the advanced technologies to make human life more profitable, more active and proactive actions are required by criminal law side. In preparation to the second mechanical era where man and machines should go together, I hope that responsible preparation is required in all fields including the criminal law.

Masked fake face detection using ordinary visible images is a formidable task when the mask is accurately made with special makeup. Considering recent advances in special makeup technology, a reliable solution to detect masked fake faces is essential to the development of a complete face recognition system. This research proposes a method for masked fake face detection that exploits reflectance disparity due to object material and its surface color. First, we have shown that measuring of albedo can be simplified to radiance measurement when a practical face recognition system is deployed under the user-cooperative environment. This enables us to obtain albedo just by grey values in the image captured. Second, we have found that 850nm infrared light is effective to discriminate between facial skin and mask material using reflectance disparity. On the other hand, 650nm visible light is known to be suitable for distinguishing different facial skin colors between ethnic groups. We use a 2D vector consisting of radiance measurements under 850nm and 659nm illumination as a feature vector. Facial skin and mask material show linearly separable distributions in the feature space. By employing FIB, we have achieved 97.8% accuracy in fake face detection. Our method is applicable to faces of different skin colors, and can be easily implemented into commercial face recognition systems.

In this paper, the optimum placement and shape of UHF antenna on the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are analyzed by using the electromagnetic (EM) simulation on the various locations. The FEKO was used for the EM-simulation. In order to reduce the complexity of simulation and minimize the runtime and memory usage, the composite aircraft structure is simplified as the PEC model excluding the radome structure. The simulation was performed on the wing and ventral fin of UAV, and the antenna shape used the monopole, dipole, and bent monopole antennas. When the monopole antenna is mounted under the wing, two antennas need to be mounted under the right and left wings, and those antennas have to be switched as the direction of UAV wing to the line of sight (LOS) data-link (DL) ground antenna. In the case of mounting under the ventral fin, one antenna can be used regardless of the direction of UAV wing to the LOS DL ground antenna. Also, the antenna gain is improved by the blockage reduction. The antenna gain is further improved by using the bent monopole antenna. The optimum solution of UHF antenna placement and shape on UAV is to mount the bent monopole antenna under the ventral fin.
Immobilized bioprocess was carried out for continuous production of cyclosporin A (CyA) produced intracellularly as a secondary metabolite by a filamentous fungus, Tolypocladium inflatum. Immobilization procedure for entrapping conidiospores of the producer was significantly simplified by use of a modified immobilization technique. A newly-designed immobilized perfusion reactor system (IPRS) showed good process benefits as demonstrated by the role of the high density immobilized cells as an efficient biomass generator, continuously supplying highly active CyA-producing free cells (1.0g/$\ell$/hr) even at very high dilution rate ($0.1hr^{-1}$). IPRS bioprocess was possible since efficient decantor system developed in our laboratory separated the sloughed-off free cells from the immobilized biomass effectively, thus overcoming wash-out phenomenon frequently encountered in continuous free cell cultures. Furthermore the released-free cells remaining in the bulk solution did not appear to cause substrate mass transfer limitation which was often experienced in suspended mycelial fungal cell fermentations. The primary reason for this was that the suspension broth of the IPRS mainly consisted of roundshaped short mycelial fragments and conidiospores, still remaining Newtonian even at high cell density. In parallel with IPRS bioprocess development, other key factors to be considered necessarily for significant increase in CyA productivity would be strain improvement and medium optimization for the immobilized cells.

Cleft lip and palate, the most common craniofacial anomalies, are severe congenital defects that have an incidence of 0.28 to 3.74 per 1000 live births. Although there has been great improvement in the field of cleft surgery, surgical approach cannot be the single solution to resolve the various problems encountered in patients with cleft lip and palate. The concept of presurgical infant orthopedics (PSIO) for gradual closure of the cleft gap and simplified surgical performance was first introduced by McNeil in 1950. Recently, there are many attempts not only to approximate the alveolar segments but also to reshape the nasal cartilage. Three infants with unilateral cleft lip and palate were referred from the department of Plastic Surgery for presurgical nasoalveolar molding (PNAM). Maxillary appliances using resin with orthodontic wire were fabricated. Then these appliance was applied until patients underwent lip surgery. In all cases, the patients could wear the appliance all day since they were able to eat even with the appliance on, This resulted in significant improvements in the nasal symmetry were found. Our appliance, namely K-NAM, extends the wearing time within the limited period and as a result it is expected to maximize the treatment effects. Used properly, this appliance would play a major role in enhancing nasal symmetry with satisfactory results.
