  • This paper presents a fuzzy modified PID controller that uses linear fuzzy inference method. In this structure, the proportional and derivative gains vary with the output of the system under control. 2-input PD type fuzzy controller is designed to obtain the varying gains. The proposed fuzzy PID structure maintains the same performance as the same performance as the general-purpose linear PID controller, and enhances the tracking performance over a wide range of input. Numerical simulations and experimental results show the effectiveness of the fuzzy PID controller in comparison with the conventional PID controller.

  • This paper presents a systematic approach to identify a linguistic fuzzy model for a multi-input and single-output complex system. Such a model is composed of fuzzy rules, and its output is inferred by the simplified reasoning. The structure and membership function parameters for a fuzzy model are automatically and simultaneously identified by GA (Genetic Algorithm). After GA search, optimal parameters for the fuzzy model are finely tuned by a gradient method. A numerical example is provided to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed approach. Comparison shows that the suggested approach can produce the linguistic fuzzy model with higher accuracy and a smaller number of rules than the ones achieved previously in other methods.

  • In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy controller and algorithm for efficiently obstacle avoidance in unknown space. The ultrasonic sensor is used for position and distance recognition of obstacle, and fuzzy controller is used for left and right wheels angular velocity control. The fuzzification is used singleton method and the control rule is each wheel forty-nine. The fuzzy inference is used simplified Mamdani's reasoning and defuzzification is used SCOG(Simplified Center Of Gravity). The computer simulation based on mobile robot modelling was performed for the capacity of fuzzy controller and the really applicable possibility revaluation of the proposed avoidance algorithm and fuzzy controller. As a result, mobile robot was exactly reached in target and it avoided obstacle efficiently.

  • To do fuzzy modelling of a nonlinear process needs to analyze the characteristics of input-output of fuzzy inference systems according to the division of entire input spaces and the fuzzy reasoning methods. For this, fuzzy model is expressed by identifying the structure and parameters of the system by means of input variables, fuzzy partition of input spaces, and consequence polynomial functions. In the premise part of the fuzzy rules Min-Max method using the minimum and maximum values of input data set and C-Means clustering algorithm forming input data into the clusters are used for identification of fuzzy model and membership functions are used as a series of triangular, gaussian-like, trapezoid-type membership functions. In the consequence part of the fuzzy rules fuzzy reasoning is conducted by two types of inferences such as simplified and linear inference. The identification of the consequence parameters, namely polynomial coefficients, of each rule are carried out by the standard least square method. And lastly, using gas furnace process which is widely used in nonlinear process we evaluate the performance and the system characteristics.

  • Correlation among different factors must be considered for selection of influencing factors in safety monitoring of high dam including positive correlation of variables. Therefore, a new factor selection method was constructed based on Copula entropy and mutual information theory, which was deduced and optimized. Considering the small sample size in high dam monitoring and distribution of daily monitoring samples, a computing method that avoids causality of structure as much as possible is needed. The two-dimensional normal information diffusion and fuzzy reasoning of pattern recognition field are based on the weight theory, which avoids complicated causes of the studying structure. Hence, it is used to dam safety monitoring field and simplified, which increases sample information appropriately. Next, a complete system integrating high dam monitoring and uncertainty prediction method was established by combining Copula entropy theory and information diffusion theory. Finally, the proposed method was applied in seepage monitoring of Nuozhadu clay core-wall rockfill dam. Its selection of influencing factors and processing of sample data were compared with different models. Results demonstrated that the proposed method increases the prediction accuracy to some extent.

  • The new design methodology of a hybrid fuzzy controller by means of the genetic algorithms is presented. In fuzzy controller which has been widely applied and used. in order to construct the best fuzzy rules that include adjustment of fuzzy sets, a highly skilled techniques using trial and error are required. To deal with such a problem, first, a hybrid fuzzy controller(HFC) related to the optimal estimation of control parameters is proposed. The HFC combined a PID controller with a fuzzy controller concurrently produces the better output performance than any other controller from each control output in steady state and transient state. Second, a auto-tuning algorithms is presented to automatically improve the performance of hybrid fuzzy controller, utilizing the simplified reasoning method and genetic algorithms. In addition, to obtain scaling factors and PID Parameters of HFC using GA, three kinds of estimation modes such as basic, contraction, and expansion mode are effectively utilized. The HFCs are applied to the first-order second-order process with time-delay and DC motor Computer simulations are conducted at step input and the performances of systems are evaluated and also discussed from performance indices.

  • The new design methodology of a hybrid fuzzy controller by means of the genetic algorithms is presented. First, a hybrid fuzzy controller(HFC) related to the optimal estimation of control parameters is proposed. The control input for the system in the HFC combined PID controller with fuzzy controller is a convex combination of the FLC's output and PID's output by a fuzzy variable, namely, membership function of weighting coefficient. Second, an auto-tuning algorithms utilizing the simplified reasoning method and genetic algorithms is presented to automatically improve the performance of hybrid fuzzy controller. Especially, in order to auto-tune scaling factors and PID parameters of HFC using GA, three kinds of estimation modes such as basic, contraction, and expansion mode are effectively utilized. The proposed HFC is evaluated and discussed to show applicability and superiority with the and of three representative processes.

  • A method for estimating the effectiveness of each protective action against a nuclear accident has been proposed using the fuzzy set theory. In most of the existing countermeasure models in actions under radiological emergencies, the large variety of possible features is simplified by a number of rough assumptions. During this simplification procedure, a lot of information is lost which results in much uncertainty concerning the output of the countermeasure model. Furthermore, different assumptions should be used for different sites to consider the site specific conditions. Tn this study, the diversity of each variable related to protective action has been modelled by the linguistic variable. The effectiveness of sheltering and evacuation has been estimated using the proposed method. The potential advantage of the proposed method is in reducing the loss of information by incorporating the opinions of experts and by introducing the linguistic variables which represent the site specific conditions.
