  • The rapid development of digital media and communication network urgently brings about the need of data certification technology to protect IPR (Intellectual property right). This paper proposed a new watermarking method for embedding owner's audio signal. Because this method uses an audio signal as a watermark to be embedded, it is very useful to claim the ownership aurally. And it has the advantage of restoring audio signal modified and especially removed by image removing attacks by applying our LBX(Linear Bit-expansion) interleaving. Three basic stages of our watermarking include: 1) Encode . analogue owner's audio signal by PCM and create new digital audio watermark, 2) Interleave an audio watermark by our LBX; and 3) Embed the interleaved audio watermark in the low frequency band on DTn (Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform) of image. The experimental results prove that this method is resistant to lossy JPEG compression as standard image compression and especially to cropping and rotation which remove a part of Image.

  • In this study, information compression based on the wavelet technique is described. The principle of signal or image compression is performed by optimization of quantization, that is the bit allocation taking advantage of their energy concentration in low frequency components. The wavelet transform is one of frequency decomposition, such as the discrete cosine transform or sub-band filtering, and it is also implemented as a filter bank. Wavelet transform with use of spatially localized basis function can reduce several drawbacks in conventional methods. The benifit of wavelet based compression method is described as comparing the transform method to another ones.

  • This paper presents the ECG data compression using wavelet transform (WT) and adaptive fractal interpolation (AFI). The WT has the subband coding scheme. The fractal compression method represents any range of ECG signal by fractal interpolation parameters. Specially, the AFI used the adaptive range sizes and got good performance for ECG data cmpression. In this algorithm, the AFI is applied into the low frequency part of WT. The MIT/BIH arhythmia data was used for evaluation. The compression rate using WT and AFI algorithm is better than the compression rate using AFI. The WT and AFI algorithm yields compression ratio as high as 21.0 wihtout any entropy coding.

  • An Electro Magnetic Suspension System, which has two floating masses connected with springs and dampers, can not keep its equilibrium when it is solved as an ordinary quartic mathematical model. So, a two dimensional con-troller, designed with quadratic mathematical model assuming the two mass model to be a rigid body, was used. As the result, the system floated stably. Therefore, we measured the transfer performances of this closed loop system contained this controller using the compression signal method proposed by N.Aoshima and identified the parameters of this system. Finally, we compared these parameters with the computing results of quartic mathematical model.

  • In present, there are many methods such as DCT, Wavelet Transform, or Quantization -to the image compression field, but the basic image compression method have based on DCT. The representative thing of the efficient techniques for information compression is DCT method. It is more superior than other information conversion method. It is widely applied in digital signal processing field and MPEG and JPEG which are selected as basis algorithm for an image compression by the international standardization group. It is general that DCT is consisted of using multiplier with main arithmetic blocks having many arithmetic amounts. But, the use of multiplier requires many areas when hardware is embodied, and there is fault that the processing speed is low. In this paper, we designed the hardware module that could run high-speed operation using row-column separation calculation method and Chen algorithm by distributed arithmetic method using ROM table instead of multiplier for design DCT module of high speed.

  • To reduce the redundancy within samples that resulted from uniform sampling method, nonuniform sampling or nonredundant-sample coding methods can be considered. But it is well-known that when conventional nonuniform sampling methods are applied directly to speech signal, the amount of data required is comparable to or more than that required by uniform sampling method like PCM. To overcome this problem, we consider properties of speech signal in the sense of perception, and suggest a nonuniform sampling method at the maxima and minima of speech wave. To analyze the performance of the suggested method, compression ratio is considered. We show that compression ratio can be improved by silence detection, which can't be implemented by conventional methods based on uniform sampling. As experimental results, compression ratios of 1.54 without silence detection and 2.88 with silence detection for 8kHz 8-bit PCM signals are obtained.

  • This paper presents the ECG data compression method referred the adaptive fractal interpolation algorithm. In the previous piecewise fractal interpolation(PFI) algorithm, the size of range is fixed So, the reconstruction error of the PFI algorithm is nonuniformly distributed in the part of the original ECG signal. In order to improve this problem, the adaptive fractal interpolation(AEI) algorithm uses the variable range. If the predetermined tolerance was not satisfied, the range would be subdivided into two equal size blocks. large ranges are used for encoding the smooth waveform to yield high compression efficiency, and the smaller ranges are U for encoding rapidly varying parts of the signal to preserve the signal quality. The suggested algorithm was evaluated using MIT/BIH arrhythmia database. The AEI algorithm was found to yield a relatively low reconstruction error for a given compression ratio than the PFI algorithm. In applications where a PRD of about 7.13% was acceptable, the ASI algorithm yielded compression ratio as high as 10.51, without any entropy coding of the parameters of the fractal code.

  • In recent years, we use overdriving scheme to improve the response time of the liquid crystal. Since conventional overdriving scheme uses memory to perform ideal processing, it is desired to reduce system cost by decreasing the data stored in these SDRAMs. As a general compression method, quantization, sub-sampling and Block Truncation Coding ( BTC ) are used, which process data in block base and cause block effect. So we proposed new data compression method by color space conversion. Because this method compresses luminance and chrominance signal by different ratio, it can efficiently reduce error of block effect in decompression image.

  • Fractal image compression can reduce the size of image data by the contractive mapping that is affine transformation to find the block(called as range block) which is the most similar to the original image. Even though fractal image compression is regarded as an efficient way to reduce the data size, it has high distortion rate and requires long encoding time. In this paper, we presented a hybrid fractal image compression system with the modified SOFM Vector Quantizer which uses improved competitive learning method. The simulation results showed that the VQ hybrid fractal using improved competitive loaming SOFM has better distortion rate than the VQ hybrid fractal using normal SOFM.
