  • In this paper, we introduce a method of graphic offloading computing using a GPU virtualization technology in order to provide high demanding software like 3D software as an on-line software service. When the offloading software is executed on server's software virtualization environment, its graphic works are processed on a client's GPU using GPU virtualization, while on the other its data works are processed on server's CPU. To do that, we propose a method of rendering graphics information on client side GPU using API Remoting method. Also, we show the better performance than server based rendering method when we serve offloading software which include dynamical 3D graphics that display images are frequently changed through on-line. Moreover, we describe a method to virtualize offloading software by a process level and manage client's configuration information in order to decrease server's load when we provide software service to multiple clients.

  • With the flood of digital data owing to the Internet of Things and big data, cloud service providers that process and store vast amount of data from multiple users can apply duplicate data elimination technique for efficient data management. The user experience can be improved as the notion of edge computing paradigm is introduced as an extension of the cloud computing to improve problems such as network congestion to a central cloud server and reduced computational efficiency. However, the addition of a new edge device that is not entirely reliable in the edge computing may cause increase in the computational complexity for additional cryptographic operations to preserve data privacy in duplicate identification and elimination process. In this paper, we propose an efficiency-improved duplicate data elimination protocol while preserving data privacy with an optimized user-edge-cloud communication framework by utilizing a trusted execution environment. Direct sharing of secret information between the user and the central cloud server can minimize the computational complexity in edge devices and enables the use of efficient encryption algorithms at the side of cloud service providers. Users also improve the user experience by offloading data to edge devices, enabling duplicate elimination and independent activity. Through experiments, efficiency of the proposed scheme has been analyzed such as up to 78x improvements in computation during data outsourcing process compared to the previous study which does not exploit trusted execution environment in edge computing architecture.

  • Publish-subscribe communication model is popular for various type of distributed applications because of its loosely coupled style connections. Among the various architecture style for publish-subscribe system, peer-to-peer architecture has been used for the mission critical application domain since it provides high scalability and real-timeness. On the other hand, to utilize the bandwidth of given networks, message filtering is frequently used to reduce the number of messages on the system. Even if P2P provides superior scalability, it is hard to apply filtering to the its messaging system because the filtering process should be done on the peer-side in P2P architecture that are usually done on the broker server in conventional pub/sub architecture. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical subscription management structure as well as message forwarding scheme for efficient data dissemination. Our proposed scheme reduces the number of received messages by filter-out un-wanted messages and offloading the message dissemination work to other subscribers to enhance the messaging throughput.
