A past monthly data is not faithful so much for a short term. But, the stochastic generation technique was provide of a long-term data. Thus this study is used a data which generated a monthly inflow amounts data by Thomas-Fiering model. This model is needed a certain process which determination of distribution, decision of continuous durability, etc. It was generated a inflow data every one month as Thomas-Fiering method. The generated inflow data was used input data for a monthly cumulative analysis. This analysis obtained a storage capacities which would be required during droughts having various return periods. It was presented a equation of fitting regression that was carried out regression analysis of 5, 10, 20, 50 years period.
Nowadays, using math logic in great civil projects is considered by the clients to achieve the goals of project including quality optimization, costs, avoiding individual, emotional and political decision making, long-term and short-term goals and they are the main requirements of each project and should be considered by the decision makers to avoid the illogical decision making applied on the majority of civil projects and this imposes great financial and spiritual costs on our country. The present study attempts to present one of the civil projects (Ghasre Shirin storage dam) whose client was not ministry of energy for the first time and the short-term and long-term goals of the private sector were applied based on the triangle of quality, cost and time. Also, the math logic and model (multi-criteria decision making method and decision making matrix) is used in one of the most important sections of project, sealing element, policies and new materials (Geosynthetics) are considered and this leads to suitable decision making in this regard. It is worth to mention that this method is used for other sections of a dam including body, water diversion system, diaphragm and other sectors or in other civil projects of building, road construction, etc.
A superconducting magnetic energy storage device(SSD) system has being developed to provide power to industrial electric loads subjected to short term voltage disturbances. In this paper, the results of the conceptual design of SSD system are described.
This study is designed to provide forest managers and landowners with tools to estimate the effect of forest management on carbon storage, investigating living tree biomass, detritus, and harvested wood products as variables. Thinning, selection cutting, and uncutting were applied to the three different forest types in New York, USA. Carbon storage of the original stands was 90, 56, and $101Mg\;ha^{-1}$ at the Allegheny hardwood forest, Northern hardwood forest, and Oak - black cherry forest, respectively. Among treatments, uncutting generally stored the greatest amount carbon. However, the rate of carbon storage was the smallest at the uncut treatment in all the sites. The 50% thinning, 50% selection, and 50% thinning treatments were the highest rate of carbon storage at the Allegheny hardwood forest, Northern hardwood forest, and Oak - cherry forest, respectively. In this study, only short term was applied to simulate carbon sequestration after silvicultural treatment. So, more research is needed to determine whether any silvicultural treatment can store significantly more carbon than no treatment over the long term.
Objective: This study investigated the efficacy of different concentrations of gelatin supplementation in long-term semen extender on boar semen quality during storage for 10 days at 17℃. Additionally, oxytocin was added to stored semen to enhance fertility. Methods: In Experiment 1, boar semen was collected, diluted with gelatin at concentrations between 0% and 2.5% (w/v) and mixed with a semen extender. Then, it was kept in a refrigerator at 17℃ and stored for 10 days. In Experiment 2, the sperm quality was examined after adding 0, 5, and 10 IU oxytocin per artificial insemination dose to the most effective semen extender from Experiment 1 and placing it in a refrigerator at 17℃ for 10 days. In Experiment 3, the fertility potential in terms of non-return rate and litter size was determined using the most effective solid-stored semen supplemented with oxytocin. Results: The results indicated that sperm quality decreased with increasing storage time (p<0.05). The sperm quality in terms of total motility, progressive motility, and viable sperm with intact acrosomes and high mitochondrial potential was the highest with 1.5% gelatin supplementation (p<0.001) on all days of storage. Treatment with oxytocin did not affect sperm quality (p>0.05). The non-return rate and litter size after insemination with semen supplemented with 1.5% gelatin and 10 IU of oxytocin after 8 to 10 days of storage were comparable to those of the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: A semen extender as a solid medium supplemented with 1.5% gelatin successfully preserved boar semen for a long storage duration. Treatment with oxytocin did not affect sperm quality. In addition, the fertility capacity using 1.5% gelatin with 10 IU oxytocin and stored for 8 to 10 days was acceptable and comparable to that of short-term storage.

The determination of completion time constitutes an important step in developing algorithms for short-term production scheduling. Existing completion time algorithms of multi-product batch processes often assume that intermediate storage tanks are always available when it is needed. In this paper, we consider a serial multi-product batch plants with ZW and NIS policy intermediate storge tank. We limit storage residence time and allocated products in the intermediate storage tank to minimize the quality change of the stored material as well as to reduce the clearing time during product change. A set of recurrence relations is suggested to calculate the completion times for the given batch sequence of products on all processing units. Also analytic solution for the suggested model is solved by a graphical method. The effectiveness of these results is proved by a few illustrative examples.
This study was performed to find the changes in volatile sulfur compounds of garlic under various storage conditions. The volatile sulfur compounds of garlic were identified with GC and GC/MS. Analysis on the detected volatile sulfur compound of garlic which is known to have medical effect was performed while storing for two days at room temperature and for 1, 3 and 7 days at 4$^{\circ}C$ and -18$^{\circ}C$, respectively. The results of the study were summarized as follows : Total amount of 7 volatile sulfur compounds was the highest in the sample stored at room temperature for one hour. During the storage of 1, 3 and 7 days at -18$^{\circ}C$, chopped garlic contained more of volatile sulfur compounds than under any other storage conditions and the amounts of 7 volatile sulfur compounds increased gradually during the storage of chopped garlic.
In this study, we investigated the applicability of a short-term carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) passive sampler using turbidity change in a solution containing barium hydroxide ($Ba(OH)_2$). The mass of $CO_2$ introduced into the $Ba(OH)_2$ aqueous solution was strongly correlated ($r^2=0.9565$) to the change in turbidity caused by its reaction with the solution. The sampling rates calculated for 1 h and 24 h were $42.4{\pm}5.4mL\;min^{-1}$ and $2.3{\pm}0.3mL\;min^{-1}$, respectively. Both unexposed (blank) and exposed samplers remained stable during the storage period of at least two weeks. The detection limits of the passive sampler for $CO_2$ were 81.5 ppm for 1 h and 61.5 ppm for 24 h. Based on the results, the passive sampler using the change of turbidity in the $Ba(OH)_2$ aqueous solution appears to be a suitable tool for measuring short-term atmospheric concentrations of $CO_2$.

This paper presents the determination method of the hybrid energy storage capacity for compensating the output of wind power when disconnecting from the grid. In the wind power output compensation, a lot of charging and discharging time with lithium-ion battery will be deteriorated the life time. And also, this fluctuation will cause some problems of the power quality and power system stability. To solve these kind of problems, many researchers in the world have been studied with BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) in the wind farm. But, BESS has the limitation of its output during very short term period, this means that it is difficult to compensate the very short term output of wind farm. Using the EDLC (Electric Double Layer Capacitor), it is possible to solve the problem. Installing the battery system in the wind farm, it will be possible to decrease the total capacity of BESS consisting of HESS (Hybrid Energy Storage System). This paper shows simulation results when not only BESS is connected to wind farm but also to HESS. To verify the proposed system, results of computer simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC program with actual output data of wind farms of Jeju Island will be presented.
The purpose of developing a rainfall-runoff and reservoir model is to provide an analysis tool for hydrological engineers in order to forecast discharge of rivers and to accomplish reservoir operations easily and accurately. In this study, based on the short-term rainfall-runoff storage function model which has gained popularity for real time flood forecast in practical water management affairs, a long-term runoff model was developed for the improvement of the calculation method of effective rainfall and percolation at the infiltration area. Annual discharge was simulated for three dam watersheds(Andong, Hapcheon, Milyang) in Nakdong River basin to analyze the accuracy of the developed model and compare it to SSARR model, which is used as the long-term runoff model in current practical water management affairs. As the result of the comparison of hydrographs, SSARR model showed relatively better results. However, it is possible for the developed model to simulate reliable long-term runoff using relatively little available data and is useful for hydrological engineers in practical affairs.
