Comparison on the High School Girls' Purchasing Pattern of Fashion Products at Online and Offline Markets

  • The present study was implemented to understand high school girls' buying patterns of fashion products at online and offline shopping malls; and to obtain the information needed for the development of online and offline mall marketing strategies that are differentiated from each other. The study was conducted through a descriptive survey method using questionnaires. The sample consisted of 242 girls from four high schools located in Seoul. Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation and a paired t-test were used for the analysis of the data. Results are as follows: First, most of the high school girls (82.2%) had experience of purchasing fashion products at online shopping malls. And, those who have purchasing experience at online shopping malls, compared to those who do not have such purchasing experience, showed a higher purchasing intension at online shopping malls. Second, both the degree of pre-purchase searching and ongoing searching was higher in online shopping than in offline shopping. Third, the quality of material, place produced, brand name, and store atmosphere/type were considered more in offline shopping than in online shopping. Shopping convenience and information service about the products were considered more in online shopping than in offline shopping. Fourth, the purchasing frequency of underwear and hair accessaries was higher at offline stores than online shopping malls, but the purchasing frequency of bags was higher in online stores than offline stores. When the differences between the purchasing patterns at online shopping malls and offline stores are considered carefully, marketing activities would be more effective.

Predicting Intention to Use the Internet Information Search and Shopping Apparel Among Korean Female Computer Users

  • This study was designed to provide a better understanding of Korean female Internet users' intention to search for information regarding apparel goods and to shop for these goods. Shopping orientation, familiarity, and prior purchase experience were seen as influencing the intention to use the Internet for information search. An important aspect in the search habits that a consumer adopts in gathering information for their buying decisions was Internet shopping attitude. The objective was to predict apparel shopping in terms of prior Internet shopping experience, familiarity, intention to search information via the Internet, and shopping orientation. Internet shopping attitude, familiarity, prior purchase experience, and intention to use to search information were significant in predicting Internet apparel shopping. The most important determinants which influenced Internet shopping were attitude toward Internet shopping and intention to search. In considering the results of the present study, one should recognize the inherent limitations associated with generalizing these findings beyond the sample and the consumer products examined which in this study were apparel goods. Also this study focused on female computer users only. Therefore, future research should utilize more broadly based samples and refine the instrument to distinguish among different apparel products. This study does provide some information that should be helpful to retailers targeting the women's online apparel market.

쇼핑가치가 구매의도에 미치는 영향 분석 : 인터넷 구매 경험 차이의 관점에서 (The Impact of Online Shopping Experience on Consumers Shopping Values and Purchase Intention)

  • This study deals with shopping value and trust as the factors to influence consumer attitude and purchase intention in online shopping. Utilitarian and hedonic shopping values, trust, attitude and purchase intention are incorporated into the Value-Attitude-Behavior model to find out how differently shopping values and trust influence online shoppers attitude and purchase intention when they have different purchase experiences. Data are collected from survey of 187 subjects and divided into two groups according to their online purchase experiences : 97 shoppers with low online purchase experiences and 89 with high experiences. PLS(Partial Least Square) method is applied to estimate the research model and to test 7 hypotheses. The results show the difference of the way how shopping value and trust influence purchase intention. In the case of low experienced online shoppers, trust has the greatest influence purchase intention, followed by hedonic shopping value mediated by attitude. However utilitarian shopping values have a bigger impact on it for shoppers with high purchase experiences. In the latter, trust also has a significant impact on purchase intention at confidence level of 0.05. The results also provide useful implications for practitioners to build and manage their marketing strategies. Managers of online shopping mall should react to the different shopping value by shopper's experience.

고객의 지각된 쇼핑경험에 대한 마케팅 이론적 접근 (A Marketing Theory-Based Approach to Customer's Perceived Shopping Experience)

  • 본 연구는 고객이 쇼핑할 때 지각하는 경험의 요인들을 Schmitt(1999)의 전략적 경험모듈에 기반을 두고 쇼핑경험을 5개 요인(감각, 감성, 인지, 행동, 관계)으로 분류하고, 쇼핑경험에 영향을 미치는 고객 특성으로 구성된 선행변수와 결과변수를 가설적 관계를 통해 검증할 것을 주목적으로 한다. 세부적으로 본 연구는 아래와 같은 4개의 주요 연구목적을 수행한다. 첫째, 본 연구의 이론적 개념틀이 되는 전략적 경험 모듈을 구성하는 5개 요인들 간의 역학적 관계에 대해 규명한다. 특히, 총체적(holistic) 경험특성을 주장한 이론적 배경에 입각하여 경험요인들간의 상호작용관계에 초점을 둔다. 둘째, Schmitt(1999)에 의한 경험의 유형화를 이용하여 소비자가 지각하는 총체적 쇼핑 경험을 중심으로 이에 영향을 미치는 선행변수로써 고객의 쇼핑동기(motivation)와 쇼핑관여(involvement)에 대한 이론적 고찰과 함께 쇼핑동기의 유형(제품 중심적/경험 중심적)에 따라 고객이 지각하는 고객의 경험요인에 어떤 영향을 미친다는 가정 하에 백화점, 할인점, 그리고 인터넷 점포를 대상으로 이들 점포에 대한 쇼핑경험이 점포 재방문 의향에 미치는 영향력을 규명한다. 마지막으로 쇼핑경험에 대한 고객의 선호도와 점포재방문간의 관계를 전략적 경험모듈을 중심으로 포지셔닝하는 쇼핑경험 포지셔닝 맵을 개발한다. 본 연구에서 도출한 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전략적 경험모듈의 특성에 대한 가설의 검정 결과에 따르면 5개 경험요인들은 높은 수준의 상관관계를 가졌다. 둘째, 쇼핑동기는 인지적 경험과 감성적 경험의 선호도에 대해 효과적인 영향력을 행사하는 것으로 판명되었다. 즉, 제품 중심적(경험 중심적) 쇼핑동기를 가진 고객은 인지적 (감성적)경험을 선호하는 것으로 입증되었다. 셋째, 쇼핑관여도는 감성적 경험과 유의한 관계를 보여 주었다. 마지막으로 경험 포지셔닝 맵의 개발에 따른 유통전략에 관한 전략적 시사점을 제시하였다.

다채널 쇼핑과 고객만족: 쇼핑경험과 고객-기업 관계특성의 역할 (Multichannel Shopping and Customer Satisfaction: The Role of Shopping Experience and Customer-Firm Relationship Characteristics)

  • 최근의 유통환경에서 다채널 고객관리(multichannel customer management)가 실무적 및 이론적으로 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 기업수준에서 소비자의 다채널 쇼핑이 기업성과를 제고하는 것과 밀접한 관련성이 있는 것으로 알려져 있으나 이론적으로 이러한 결과가 발생하는 원인에 대하여 채널 중심적으로 제한적이고 예측적인 설명만이 이루어져 왔다. 이러한 상황에서 본 연구는 다채널 쇼핑의 기업성과 증대의 원인으로서 고객만족과의 관계에 대한 심층적인 이해를 위하여 다채널 이용-쇼핑경험-고객만족의 연결을 체계적이고 실증적으로 검토하였다. 이와 더불어 고객유형 별 차별화된 쇼핑경험 제공의 필요성을 설명하기 위하여 다채널 이용과 쇼핑경험과의 관계에서 고객-기업 관계특성의 조절적 역할을 검토하였다. 다채널 유통업체의 660명의 고객을 대상으로 설문조사와 고객 데이터베이스를 통합한 자료를 바탕으로 가설검증을 수행하였다. 다채널 이용을 구매의사결정과정에서의 정보탐색과 제품구매 단계에서의 다채널 이용으로 구분하고 쇼핑경험을 편리성과 즐거움으로 구분하여 검토한 결과 다채널 이용과 고객만족과의 관계에서 쇼핑경험은 매개변수로서의 역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 즉, 기업의 다채널 고객관리 목적은 고객의 쇼핑목적으로서 편리성과 즐거움을 제공하여야 고객만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 평가할 수 있다. 또한 고객-기업 관계특성으로서 관계기간과 구매빈도를 대상으로 검토한 결과 다채널 이용과 즐거움과의 관계에서 구매빈도는 조절변수로서의 역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 다채널 전략의 목표설정 및 차별화된 다채널 고객관리 관점에서 이론적 및 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.

인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 구전과 보증이 신뢰에 미치는 영향 : 제품평가 용이성의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Effects of Word-of-Mouth and Assurance on Trust in the Internet Shopping Mall Environments: The Moderation Effect of Ease of Product Evaluation)

  • Purchasing through Internet shopping mall has more uncertainty compared with offline shopping mall. Previous studies have presented that trust plays a role of reducing uncertainty and increasing purchasing intention. In this study, we suggest that third-party assurance and word-of-mouth contribute to the formation of trust. In addition, we also propose that ease of product evaluation plays moderating roles in the relationships between third-party assurance, word-of-mouth and trust. For this study, we collected sample data from two groups consisting of online shoppers purchasing the search goods and experience goods categorized by type of ease of product evaluation. Empirical results show that word-of-mouth and third-party assurance have different effects on trust in two groups. The third-party assurance has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the search goods than in the experience goods, while word-of-mouth in the online community has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the experience goods than in the search goods. We expect that this result will provide researchers and managers who are interested in trust formation factors in online shopping mall with useful theoretical and practical implications.

  • 본 연구는 쇼핑경험과 쇼핑가치 간의 관계에서 매개변수로서의 신뢰의 중요성을 파악하는 데에 주된 목적을 두고 있다. 쇼핑의 효용적 가치와 쾌락적 가치에 대한 기존 연구는 선행변수나 결과에 주로 초점을 두고 있는 것이 많다. 또한, 신뢰의 역할이 온라인 쇼핑몰에 관한 논문에서 많이 연구되어 온 것은 사실이나, 대부분 쇼핑 내지는 사용 의도와의 관계에 치중되어 왔고, 소비자가 쇼핑가치를 갖게 되는 메커니즘에 대한 연구는 그리 많지 않았다. 본 연구는 신뢰가 어떻게 쇼핑의 효용적 가치나 쾌락적 가치를 증가시킬 수 있는가에 대해 초점을 두고 있으며, 이러한 연구는 쇼핑몰에 대한 소비자의 충성도와 깊은 관련이 있는 만큼 중요한 사안이라 할 수 있다. 구조방정식 모형이 제시되었고, 서베이를 통하여 신뢰의 역할을 실증적으로 검증하였는데, 신뢰를 매개변수로 포함한 모형과 포함하지 않은 모형을 비교함으로써 매개효과를 파악하고자 하였다. 그 결과, 신뢰가 쇼핑 경험과 쇼핑 가치의 관계에 매우 강하게 매개 역할을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

위험지각이 인터넷 패션 쇼핑몰 이용 소비자의 구매행동의도에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Perceived Risk on Purchasing Behavioral Intention of Internet shopping Mall Shoppers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the types of perceived risk of Internet shopping and the impact of perceived risk on purchasing behavioral intention of Internet shopping mall shoppers. A self-administrated questionnaire was e-mailed to INR research (www.inr.co.kr) panel who had purchasing experience of fashion product through Internet shopping mall. The perceived risk was reduced when the innovativeness increased and purchasing experience in Internet shopping mall increased. The financial risk had an effect on purchasing intention, and social/psychological risk had impact on revisiting intention and word-of-mouth intention negatively. The performance risk perception had significantly negative influence on word-of-mouth intention. Internet using time per week, purchasing experience and Internet innovativeness were positive impact on purchasing behavioral intention of Internet fashion product.

수입여성의류 구매유무에 따른 의복행동 - 쇼핑성향과 구매행동을 중심으로 - (A Study on Clothing Behavior of Women with and without an Experience of Imported Clothes Purchase - Focusing on shopping orientation and Buying behavior -)

  • The goal of this study is to investigate the consumers'shopping orientation among those who have experience in buying imported clothing and those who have no experience in buying imported foreign clothes, types of clothing they buy (planned purchase, non-planned purchase, impulsive purchasing), purchase behavior, and demographic characteristics. The data were obtained from questionnaires completed by 400 women in the Daegu area whose age was 20 years and older. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes a test of reliability, frequency, percentage, factor analysis, t-test, and $\chi$$^2$ test. There were significant differences in clothing shopping orientation, impulsive purchasing, use of information sources, store selection standards between groups who had experience of buying imported clothing and had no experience of it. Also, there were significant differences in education levels, income Levels, marital status between two groups.

CATV 홈쇼핑에서의 충동구매 자극 요인과 구매 경험과의 관련성 (The Relationship between Impulsive Buying Stimulus and Buying Experience in Cable TV Home Shopping)

  • Cable TV Home Shopping is one of the popular distribution channels in modem society because of purchasing convenience and saving in shopping time. However, in spite of these advantages, there are some problems because of marketing strategies of many Cable TV shopping companies which stimulate impulse purchases. This study is aimed to find the relationship between buying experience and reaction to impulsive buying stimulus. This study can give a valuable insight in consumer education regarding impulsive purchase behavior in Cable TV home shopping. Study results can also give useful information on the direction of consumer campaign and consumer protection policies. The data was collected by using a questionnaire and the final 496 cases were analyzed by SPSS Win 10.0 program. The major finding were that: 1. Younger, more educated and unmarried consumers tend to response more to impulsive purchasing stimulus. 2. consumers with higher response to impulsive purchasing stimulus had more buying experience, higher shopping frequencies and spent more money in Cable TV home shopping than consumers with lower response. These study results showed that there are some relationship between impulse purchasing stimulus and buying experience in Cable TV home shopping. Therefore, Cable TV Home Shopping companies should provide correct information to the consumers, so they can make resonable decisions. And the consumers should also try to restrain themselves from purchasing impulsively. A law that will regulate all false or exaggerated ads should be provided. To reach righteous and beneficial home shopping culture for both consumer and companies, all these means should be cooperated.
