탄소섬유강화복합재료(CFRP) 레저선박의 횡요저항력 평가에 의한 상부구조물 풍압면적 특성 (Characteristics of a CFRP Cruiser's Windage Area by Stability Assessment)

  • 일반적으로 CFRP 레저선박의 상부구조물은 동급전장 타 선박보다 매우 작은 경향을 보이고 있는데, 이는 풍압면적에 의한 횡요저항력과 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 CFRP 레저선박의 이러한 상부구조물 형상 특성을 풍압면적 변화에 따른 복원안정성 분석을 통해 파악하고자 한다. GFRP 레저선박과 CFRP 레저선박의 선체 및 상부구조물 형상 특성을 상호 비교하고, CFRP 레저선박의 상부구조물 형상변화를 통해 그 변화가 복원안정성에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 위해 GFRP, CFRP 레저선박 총 10척의 형상을 비교, 분석하여 선체와 상부구조물 간의 형상 추세를 파악하였고, ISO 12217에 따른 횡요저항력 추정 및 복원안정성 평가 프로그램 개발을 통해 상부구조물의 형상 변화와 복원안정성 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구결과, CFRP 레저선박의 풍압면적 분포경향은 GFRP 레저선박과 비슷하였으나, 상대적으로 상부구조물 형상 비율은 절반정도 크기에 그치는 경향을 보였다. 또한 CFRP 레저선박의 상부구조물 크기를 동급전장의 GFRP 선박 상부구조물 면적 비율 이상(10%) 증가시키는 경우 횡요저항력에 의한 복원성능에 문제가 발생하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

방열 성능 향상을 위한 구리 엔드 탭의 최적형상 연구 (Study on copper end-tab shape for maximum heat discharging performance)

  • 두 판을 맞대기 용접할 경우 용접부 시종단부 측면에 열전도도가 큰 금속(예를 들어 구리)으로 만든 엔드 탭을 장착하고 용접을 진행하면 용접부 끝부분의 비드흘러내림과 결함을 방지할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 엔드 탭의 방열 성능을 강화시키기 위하여 자연 대류에 의한 방열 특성이 뛰어난 것으로 알려진 평판 휜 모양을 적용하였고, 실험 및 수치해석을 통하여 엔드 탭에 평판 휜 모양의 구멍이 있는 형상이 구멍이 없는 형상보다 방열 성능이 더 뛰어남을 확인하였다. 그리고 열, 유동해석을 통하여 엔드 탭의 휜 형상에 대한 냉각 속도를 평가하여, 방열 성능 측면으로 도움이 될 형상 인자적인 특성을 파악하였다. 그 결과, 엔드 탭에 수직 휜이 있으며 휜 간 간격에 최적 휜 간 간격 식을 적용한 구조가 우수한 형상으로 판단되었다.

  • Studying the long-range ordering of nanopores on the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes under a hard anodization (HA) approach is crucial in producing well-aligned nanopores on the AAO membranes. Electro-polishing in a mixture of ethanol and perchloric acid for 5 min removed marks formed by rolling and produced flat surfaces on aluminum substrates. The AAO was formed by the first HA process, providing seeds for the subsequent production of uniform AAO nanopores. The second HA process carried out on the seeds produced well-aligned, uniform AAO nanopores. The AAO nanopores, varying in size and shape, were observed with voltages applied for HA. This study provides a route for controlling the size and shape of AAO nanopores by changing the applied voltages.

냉간압연용 작업롤의 방전 조도가공 특성과 판 조도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electro Discharge Texturing Characteristics of the work Roll for Cold Rolling and Surface Roughgness of Steel Strip)

  • This paper describes characteristics of EDT(Electro Discharge Texturing) and that the strip surface has influence on the paintability. The pulse mode and the capacitor mode of recently developed EDT method were investigated about the peak shape and the roughness of strip surface. And EDT method compared the above-mentioned contents with the SBT(Shot Blast Texturing) method. The peak count of the pulse mode is more than that of the capacitor mode. But the lower roughness below the Ra 3.2 .mu. m of the strip surface, the texturing time of the pulse mode is longer than the capacitor mode. In SBT method, the peak shape is similar to capacitor mode. But the EDT roll has more uniformity than the SBT roll and has more peak count than that of SBT roll. Therefore, in the painted steel sheet, EDT roll gives better surface of clarity image than the SBT roll.

A Study on the EDT Characteristics of TM Work Roll and Variation of Strip Surface Roughness

  • This paper investigates the correlation between strip surface roughness and the surface of the work roll. As the actual temper mill(TM) is used, this data will be adopted to another actual temper mill for the application and operation of this experiment. Conclusions are as follows: Electro-discharge texturing(EDT) roll has homogeneous roughness distribution and shape, and also a sinuous peak surface and the life is 2 times longer than that of shot blast texturing(SBT) method. And the higher surface roughness of work roll, the more time is necessary at the EDT method. In the SBT method without the correlation of roughness, but impeller rotation speed with an uncontrollable peak count. The roughness of SBT roll is irregularity compared to that of EDT roll because the work roll roughness is transferred to the strip which was temper rolled, and produces a more desirable image and greater clarity to the color painted steel sheet.

FPSO의 횡요 감쇠 장치에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Roll Reduction Devices for FPSOs)

  • Several roll motion reduction devices are reviewed and suggested for the application in FPSO. The firstly suggested solution is the shape of the bilge. The next is a bilge keel. The last suggestion is the ART (anti-rolling tank). Typical U-tube type ART is designed for a FPSO and examined extensively by model experiment. The model section was made of transparent acryl. Free decay test, forced oscillation test and wave test were carried out at a two-dimensional wave flume. U-tube type ART is effective only when the natural periods of ART and ship are same. Therefore, the divided U-tube type ART with split plate is suggested for the reduction of the roll motion of a FPSO over the wide range of the roll period.

Non-Newtonian thermal Effects in Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication between the Two Rolling Systems

  • To analyze complicated phenomena on the fluid hydrodynamic and the elastic deformation between sliding body surfaces, an analysis to the elastohydrodynamic lubrication of sliding contacts has been developed taking into account the thermal and non-Newtonian effects. The computational technique handled the simultaneous solution of the non-Newtonian hydrodynamic effects, elasticity, the load, the viscosity variation, and temperatures rise. The results included the lubricant pressure profile, film thickness, velocity, shear stress, and temperature distribution, and the sliding frictional force on the surface at various slip conditions. These factors showed a great influence on the behavior resulted in the film shape and pressure distribution. Especially, Non-Newtonian effects and temperature rise by the sliding friction force acted as important roles in the lubrication performance.

  • The melt of highly purified Zn was poured by top pouring process into the open green sand mold, that was made by using the 3-plane L-sections pattern. After skin was formed, the unsolified melt was poured out by rolling-over. The thicknesses of skin for each different of castings were investigated with one dimension. The results obtained and could be summerzed as follows: 1) While the 3-plant L-sections castings were solidifying in the mold, solidification blocks of different section modulus in the castings were formed, i.e. 1-dimension divergency block, 2-dimension heat divergency block, 3-dimension heat divergency block, 2-dimension heat convergency block, and 3-dimension heat convergency block. 2) When the chill plate was set up to the mold in order to change section modulus artificially, heat divergency blocks and heat convergency blocks according to the shape of chill plate were revealed.

  • Nondestructive inspection(NDI) is a testing procedure used to easily inspect an object for internal defects, abnormalities, shape, and structure, etc. without destroying it. Typical candidates for NDI include buildings, railways, aircraft, bridges, underground pipelines and various types of factory equipment. Recent advances in nondestructive evaluation(NDE) technologies have led to improved methods for quality control and in-service inspection, and the development of new options for material diagnostics. Under frame side sill in rolling stocks is designed for preventing corrosion in order to meet mechanical requirements. However during long operation time, there are corrosion in the under frame side sill caused by environmental effect, vibration and etc. This paper introduces the methods of a survey and assessment on NDI applications in Electric Multiple Units(EMU). The main objective of this paper was to obtain information on various applications and evaluation of NDI technology in EMU.

  • 본 연구에서는 필자들의 수치해석방법을 발전시켜 프로파일링을 한 로울러의 프로파일 시작점부근에서의 압력과 유막의 거동을 보다 상세하게 해석하고자 한다.이를 위하여, 수치해석시 로울러 길이방향의 분할을 불균일하게 하여 프로파일 시작점부근에서의 절점의 간격을 조밀하게 하였으며 윤활유의 압축성효과도 고려하였다.
