위상 최적화 기법을 이용한 충격하중에 대한 차량 탑재형 전력변환장치의 마운트 경량화 설계 (Using Topology Optimization, Light Weight Design of Vehicle Mounted Voltage Converter for Impact Loading)

  • 본 연구는 전기자동차 충전시스템에서 전력변환장치의 경량화를 위한 최적화 분석프로세스에 대한 내용을 서술하였다. 최적화 설계는 재료 물성치에 대한 설계민감도와 수학적 최적화를 결합하여 주어진 재료량 제한조건 하에 최적의 재료분포를 찾는 설계기법으로 위상의 고정화, 자유도가 묶이는 문제 등을 해결할 수 있는 위상 최적화방법을 사용하였으며, 위상 최적화 방법 중 비교적 수식화가 간단하고 수렴성이 좋은 SIMP법(solid isotropic material with penalization)에 의해 경량화 설계를 수행하였다. 경량화 설계는 3단계의 절차로 구성하였으며, 첫 번째 단계로 전력변환장치의 기본 설계에 대한 유한요소모델을 구성하고, 하중에 대한 정적해석을 수행하였다. 두 번째 단계로 정적해석 결과에 대해 등방성 재료의 강성계수를 적용한 밀도법을 이용하여 위상 최적화를 수행하여 경량화를 위한 최적 형상을 도출하였다. 세 번째 단계로 최적 형상에 대해 차량 탑재 부품의 충격시험기준에 만족하는 반정현파 펄스형태 충격하중을 인가하여 충격해석을 수행하였다. 위상 최적화단계에서 사용 환경조건으로 설계영역 정의는 마운팅 브래킷 영역으로 제한하였으며, 마운팅 브래킷의 설계 최적화를 통해 최종적으로 기본설계대비 20%이상의 경량화가 가능한 설계기술을 확보하였다.

  • Flying attitudes of the slider, which are flying height, pitch and roll, are affected by the air flow velocity, the skew angle, and the manufacturing tolerances. Traditional designs of the air bearing surface have considered only the flying performances for the variations in the air flow velocity and the skew angle, which are determined by the radial position. In this study, we present the new shape design of the air bearing surface by considering the track seek performance and the air bearing stiffness as well as the traditional design requirements. The optimization technique is used to improve the dynamic characteristics and operating performance of the newly proposed air bearing surface shape design further. The optimized configuration is obtained automatically and the optimally designed sliders show the enhanced flying and dynamic characteristics.

  • An inverse finite element approach is employed for more capability to design the optimum blank shape from the desired final shape with small amount of computation time and effort. In some drawing or stamping simulation with inverse method, it is difficult to apply inverse scheme due to the large aspect ratio or steep vertical angle of inclination. The reason is that initial guesses are hard to make out with present method for those cases. In this paper, a direct mesh marring scheme to generate initial guess on the sliding constraint surface described by finite element patches is suggested for one step inverse analysis to calculate initial blank shape. Radial type mapping is adopted for the simulation of rectangular cup drawing process with large aspect ratio and parallel type mapping for the simulation of S-Rail forming process with steep vertical angle of inclination.

Seismic response of steel braced frames equipped with shape memory alloy-based hybrid devices

  • This paper highlights the role of innovative vibration control system based on two promising properties in a parallel configuration. Hybrid device consists of two main components; recentering wires of shape memory alloy (SMA) and steel pipe section as an energy dissipater element. This approach concentrates damage in the steel pipe and prevents the main structural members from yielding. By regulation of the main adjustable design parameter, an optimum performance of the device is obtained. The effectiveness of the device in passive control of structures is evaluated through nonlinear time history analyses of a five-story steel frame with and without the hybrid device. Comparing the results proves that the hybrid device has a considerable potential to mitigate the residual drift ratio, peak absolute acceleration and peak interstory drift of the structure.

  • This study presents a numerical procedure to optimize shape of streamwise periodic ribs mounted on both of the principal walls to enhance turbulent heat transfer in a rectangular channel flow. The response surface method is used as an optimization technique. The optimization is based on Navier-Stokes analysis of flow and heat transfer with $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. The width-to-height ratio of a rib, rib height-to-channel height ratio and rib pitch to rib height ratio are chosen as design variables. The object function is defined as a function of heat transfer coefficient and friction drag coefficient with weighting factor. Optimum shapes of the rib have been obtained for the range of 0.02 to 0.1 of weighting factor.

  • The conclusion is derived from the arranged results and using a simulation by determining the shape of an optimum heat pump which is appropriate for small scale houses. It is concluded as 3 meters long for the laying depth of underground piping of the horizontal type geothermal heat pump system in regard to the 5 RT capacity standard that is suitable for a small scale house. The shape of the horizontal type geothermal heat pump system for a small scale house is theThree pipe shape whose trench length is short and pipe length laid in a trench is short. It is 9 for the number of laying pipes that is most appropriate to system.

  • In this paper, we intend to develop optimized design algorithm by deciding design parameters which are considered in the first design stage of inkjet printer head. thus, the parameters are such as electric pulse, input voltage of actuator to operate actuator, shape dimension of actuator an so on. in the first design stage, according to such parameters, a lot of time and money to develop inkject printer head are needed. to reduce trial and error and to save development time in the first design stage, optimized design algorithm is required all the more. design algorithm was developed via commercial FE analysis code(ANSYS & COENTOR) for the readability and convenience of algorithm. the reasonability of algorithm was verified by implementing analysis of system stage based on the data of piezoelectric actuator which was designed through algorithm.

  • A V belt pulley is widely used in automotive industry. More than tow pulleys in one automobile are used, such items as crankshaft, water pump, air-con compressor and power steering pump. Although the shape and usage of pulleys are very simple, the design evaluation of a pulley design is difficult because the load conditions and the installation environment are complicated. So, we formulated the design evaluation for the V belt pulley by using CAE system, which enables to develop a design automation system. By using this system, an engineer can evaluate a pulley design easily without any painstaking effort, such as consideration of the complicated loads and CAE activities. Also the system helps to accumulate the design experience of a company, which guides the optimum design based on experience.

  • 대공간 스페이스 프레임 구조물은 구조물의 목적 및 설계자의 의도와 함께 다양한 형상으로 구성될 수 있으며, 다양한 구조물 형식에 적용될 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 대공간 스페이스 프레임 구조물의 최적의 부재크기나 형상은 구조 엔지니어의 경험과 반복적인 해석 그리고 시행착오적인 방법 때문에 그 결정이 쉽지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 설계자가 구조물의 최적 형상을 선택할 수 있는 방안을 제시하기 위해 먼저 타원형 및 볼트복합형과 같은 다양한 유형의 스페이스 프레임 구조물이 선정되며, 절점, 좌표 및 부재 생성을 위한 형상생성방법이 고려된다. 또한 스페이스 프레임 구조의 최적설계 절차에서 각 절점 좌표는 높이 변화나 링의 개수에 따라 변하게 되므로 최적설계 과정에서 절점파 부재의 자동생성기법이 적용된다. 다음으로 형상생성방법을 기반으로 한 형상생성모듈은 구조물의 최적화 단계에 앞서 설계자가 원하는 형상을 생성해주는 모듈이며, 최적화 단계에서는 해석 모듈과 최적화모듈이 연계된다. 마지막으로 예제 모델을 통해 형상생성방안 및 최적설계 방안의 효율성을 검토한다.

  • Since the previous cut-and-try design algorithm requires much cost and time, the automated design technique with the CFD and optimum design algorithm has recently been concerned. In this work, the Navier-Stokes equation was solved to gain more detailed viscous flow information of cascade with rotor-stator interactions. The H-grid embedded by O-grid was generated to obtain more accurate solution by eliminating the branch cut of H-grid near airfoil surface. To handle the relative motion of the rotor to the stationary stator, the sliding multiblock method was applied and the cubic-spline interpolation was used on the block interface boundary. To validate present procedure, the time-averaged aerodynamic loads were compared with experimeatal data. A good agreement was obtained. The Modified Method of Feasible Direction (MMFD) was used to carry out the sensitivity analysis of the change of aerodynamic performance by the changes of the cascade geometry. The present optimization of the cascade gave a dramatic reduction of the drag while the lift maintains at the value within the user-specified tolerance.
