Polymer concrete shows excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance compared with conventional normal cement concrete. The polymer concrete Is drawing a strong interest as high-performance materials in the construction industry Resins using recycled PET offer the possibility of a lower source cost of materials for making useful polymer concrete products. Also the recycling of PET in polymer concrete would help solve some of the solid waste problems Posed by plastics and save energy. An objective of this paper is to estimate the damage of sulfuric acid, through investigating recycled PET polymer concrete, immersed at sulfuric acid solution for 84 days. As a result of testing, recycled PET PC, used $CaCO_3$ as filler, makes a problem of appearance and strength if they are exposed for long term at corrosion environment. On the other hand, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, had less effect on decrease in weight and strength. Recycled PET PC is excellent chemical resistance, resulting in the role of unsaturated polyester resin which consists of polymer chain structure accomplishes bond of aggregates and filler strongly. Also, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, is stronger resistance of sulfuric acid corrosion than $CaCO_3$, because it is composed of $SiO_2$ and very strong glassy crystal structure. Therefore, recycled PET PC, used fly-ash as filler, is available under corrosion circumstances like sewer pipe or waste disposal plant.
Internet streaming systems consist of a media server, a streaming sewer, and terminals. The media server delivers multimedia contents such as video and/or audio to the streaming server, which distributes the contents to terminals as well. Existing Internet streaming systems have a bottleneck problem in the streaming server because of the limit of the processing capacity of the streaming server and therefore a streaming server can not accomodate more terminals than the limit. As a solution to this problem, P2P streaming systems have been lately proposed and investigated, using P2P distributed architectures. Actually, however, there exist many difficulties in the design and implementation of P2P streaming systems, because it needs many real computers and various network constructions. In this paper, we have proposed and defined a P2P streaming system model such as the architectural model, the timing model, the behavior model, and the performance metrics. And also we have implemented an NS2 based P2P streaming system simulator called P2PStreamSim. Finally, we have verified it through test simulations and analyzed the results.

The industrialization of central Europe more than 100 ago marked the beginning of densely concentrated buildings in quickly growing cities. A cheap type of roofing material of that time was tar. But it was dangerous because it was high inflammable. Then some roofer had a splendid idea. They used sandy material as a final layer atop the impermeable tar layer. These roofs were much more fire resistant than the typical roofs. In this sandy layer some plant species began to grow spontaneously. This was the beginning of the green roof history of modern Europe. A number of these green roofs survived both world wars. In the early 80's in Berlin alone, 50 such buildings existed and they continued to be waterproof until the present day. Since the 1992 Earth Summit of 1992 in Rio de Janeiro(http://www.johannesburgsummit.org/html/basic_info/unced.html) the term "sustainable development" became of central interest of urban designers. In city regions green roofs had become synonymous with this term. With a small investment, long-lasting roofs can be created. Further back in history, more exciting examples of green roofs can be found. The hanging gardens of antiquity are well-known. There are also green roofs built as insulation against cold and heat all over the world. For over 20 years, roof greening in central Europe has been closely examined for various reasons. Roof greening touches several different disciplines. Of primary interest is the durability of the roofs. But ecologists are also interested in green roofs, for instance in biodiversity research. The beneficial effect of greening on water proofing was also proven. For some time, the issue of fire protection was investigated. According to tests, green roofs received a harsh careful rating. Their fire protective property is considered similar to that of tile roofs. Another recent impulse for the green roof movement in Germany has come from the evident improvement of storm water retention and the reduced burden on the sewer system. The question of whether and how much energy green roofs can save has become an urgent question. The state of the research and also various open questions from a central European point of view will be discussed in the context of international collaboration. Apart from academic considerations, those who involve themselves in this issue take a predominantly positive view of the numerous existing green roofs in Germany. In some cities, green roofs are the typical construction technique for new buildings. A few outstanding examples will conclude this review. In Germany, about 20 companies, some of which operate internationally, specialize in green roof consulting. Learning from each other in an open-ended way with respect to different construction techniques and applications in various climatic regions can only be accomplished through such international collaboration as is taking place here.

The geological factors for causing ground subsidence are very diverse. It can be affected by any geological or extrinsic influences, and even within the same geological factor, the soil depression impact factor can be determined by different physical properties. As a result of reviewing a large number of papers and case histories, it can be seen that there are seven categories of ground subsidence factors. The depth and thickness of the overburden can affect the subsidence depending on the existence of the cavity, whereas the depth and orientation of the boundary between soil and rock are dominant factors in the ground composed of soil and rock. In case of soil layers, more various influencing factors exist such as type of soil, shear strength, relative density and degree of compaction, dry unit weight, water content, and liquid limit. The type of rock, distance from the main fracture and RQD can be influential factors in the bedrock. When approaching from the hydrogeological point of view, the rainfall intensity, the distance and the depth from the main channel, the coefficient of permeability and fluctuation of ground water level can influence to ground subsidence. It is also possible that the ground subsidence can be affected by external factors such as the depth of excavation and distance from the earth retaining wall, groundwater treatment methods at excavation work, and existence of artificial facilities such as sewer pipes. It is estimated that to evaluate the ground subsidence factor during the construction of underground structures in urban areas will be essential. It is expected that ground subsidence factors examined in this study will contribute for the reliable evaluation of the ground subsidence risk.

In recent years, combined and separated sewer overflows (CSOs, SSOs) have been recognized as a significant pollution problem. To solve this problem a series of experiments were performed in a small scale Rapid Floc Settler (RFS) device to determine its ability in removing micro particles and dissolved materials from polluted waters. The RFS device is a compact physico-chemical wasterwater treatment system. Polyacrylamide (PAM) is used as a coagulant for treating stormwater in the RFS. The results of Jar test showed that PAM could be an excellent coagulant as compared with aluminum sulfate. and ferric chloride. In several experimental conditions, the influence of different variation parameters was tested to measure the efficiency of the RFS. Tests have been carried out with typical CSOs concentrations (50~1.000mg SS/L). The treatment efficiency with regard to SS and COD, which can be obtained at an overflow rate of $130m^3/m^2/day$, are 90% and 80%, respectively. Comparing other sedimentation technologies with RFS, the overflows rate of RFS is ten times faster. The distribution of particle size and number were analyzed. The RFS is suitable for the treatment of CSOs and also the removal of settleable and dissolved materials in urban stormwater runoff.

Disinfection by electrolysis would be useful for small wastewater treatment plant, combined sewer overflow, ballast water, swimming pool, and fish farming, where the transport, storage, and the use of chlorine gas is limited. This study investigated the feasibility of the electrolysis of dilute hydrochloric acid (HCl) for disinfection. The effects of HCl concentration, voltage and reaction time on the generation of oxidizing agents, HOCl, $O_3$, and $H_2O_2$, were examined in a series of batch test. The highest current efficiency was 99.3% which was found at 2.2%, 3 V, and 5 min of HCl concentration, voltage, and reaction time, respectively. Continuous electrolysis at 2.2% HCl, 3 V, and 5 min of the hydraulic retention time showed 97.4% of the current efficiency. Addition of sodium chloride up to 20 g/L linearly increased the oxidizing agents production. 92.2% of total coliforms were removed by the contact with the electrolyzed water.

In this thesis, GPS and the electronic mapping were used to realize such a system by recognizing license plate numbers and identifying the location of objects that move at synchronous times with simulated movement in the electronic map. As well, throughout the study, a camera attached to a PDA, one of the mobile devices, automatically recognized and confirmed acquired license plate numbers from the front and back of each cu. Using this mobile technique in a wireless network searches for specific plate numbers and information about the location of the car is transmitted to a remote sewer. The use of such a GPS-based system allows for the measurement of topography and the effective acquisition of a car's location. The information is then transmitted to a central controlling center and stored as text to be reproduced later in the form of diagrams. Getting positional information through GPS and using image-processing with a PDA makes it possible to estimate the correct information of a car's location and to transmit the specific information of the car to a control center simultaneously, so that the center will get information such as type of the cu, possibility of the defects that a car might have, and possibly to offer help with those functions. Such information can establish a mobile system that can recognize and accurately trace the location of cars.
The study was investigated to runoff characteristics of non-point pollutants according to rainfall in Kokseong river watershed. The result of which is as follows : First of all, major reason which affect the formation of water quality of Kokseong River is judged to be caused by non-point pollution source which flows out from farmland and residential area. Flow of rainfall effluent in the downstream in which direct flow components of urban district and combined sewer overflows of farmland was intervened faster than that in the upstream reacted more promptly. Generation of pollutants by non-point source shows increasing trend in general in accordance with the increase in the intensity of rainfall but it was affected by SS, BOD, COD and T-P in the upstream part whereas BOD, COD and T-N were significantly affected by beginning period of rainfall in the downstream. EMC in the downstream increased approximately 3-315 times as compared to upstream, particularly the discharge of SS5 and T-P were extremely increased. While surface flow out of rainfall effluent in the upstream was only 4.7%, the surface flow in the downstream took up as much as 29%, which was major reason for the increase of EMC. From the above contents, we can see that the change in water quality according to the increase and decrease of effluent at the time of rainfall showed very complex pattern depending on the type of land use, and it is judged that the most important thing for the administration of non-point pollution source is to come up with the solution for the reduction of effluent at the beginning.

This study was conducted in the summer of 2005 in Shindong-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do to assess the quality of drinking water and to evaluate their potential pollutants. Ninety four water samples were collected from three classes of water supplies such as simple piped water, supplied own water and others (Supplied local water). Most residents used simple piped water (72.63%). 31.25% residents thought the water quality was bad and landfill was the main source of pollution that affected water quality. To correspond this perception, water quality was measured according to Drinking Water Quality Standard. The general bacteria, coliforms, and $NO_3-N$ exceeded the standard but the water qualities in these four areas were suitable for Drinking Water Quality Standard. The simple piped water showed low mean concentration of excess rate compared to supplied own piped water except general bacteria. Hardness, pH, and $NO_3-N$ showed significantly higher effects on drinking water quality. To evaluate the effect of effluent from landfill, water quality was measured according to distance and altitude. However, there was no effect of landfill effluent. To find out the effect of rainfall, we compared water quality of the year 2003 with that of 2005. The result showed significant differences in hardness and $NO_3-N$ concentration. This study confirmed that $NO_3-N$, coliforms, and general bacteria are main pollutant of water supply in rural community. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly maintain simple piped water supply, supplement sewer facilities, and educate residents about public health risk associated with drinking water in rural area.

VOD(video on demand) is a video service by users' order, that is, a video service on demand. That means the users can select and watch the video content that has been saved on sewer, out of broadcasting in the usual process like TV. At present the client of VOD system bases on PC. As the PC-based client uses the software MPEG decoder, the main processor specification has an effect on the capacity. Also people, who don't know how to use their PC, cannot be provided the VOD service. The purpose of this paper is to show the process of the development the VOD client system Into the embedded type with hardware MPEG-4 decoder. The main processor is the SC1200 of x86 Family in National Semiconductor with a built-in video processor and the memory is 128Mbyte SDRAM. Also, in order that the VOD service can be provided using the Internet, the Ethernet controller is included. As the hardware MPEG-4 decoder is used in the embedded VOD client system, which is developed, it can make the low capacity of the main processor. Therefore it is able to be developed as a low-price system. The embedded VOD client system is easy for anyone to control easily with the remote control and can be played through TV.
