  • As the ubiquitous technology has been widespread, the u-service development driven by the private sector is increasing these days. In this paper, a new development methodology of interactive u-services for a mixed-use complex in u-City is proposed. The current state-of-the-art IT, Web2.0, assumes that information must be communicated in both way, not only from service provides to users but also from users to service providers. Here the user-driven u-service will be utilized for service providers to customize user services. By this interactive u-service paradigm, the information users become the information providers so that the mixed-use complex will take advantage of massive information. Also, admitting that the mixed-use complex is limited in terms of the space size, the network effect of information and shared contents created through the interactive u-services can be maximized.

  • Korean service industry has been rapidly growing so far and economic trends in korea is shifting to service economy. However Information Communication Technology (ICT) investment and use in service sector are still relatively low in comparison with US. Keeping the current state of the service industry in mind, this paper is to review the potential productivity growth of service industry empirically by analyzing the effect of ICT on total factor productivity after investing the ICT using outlook of Korean service industry. The results show that service sectors, with more using ICT, show high productivity growth and stable TFP change during the financial period. Sectors with lower using ICT are more sensitive to changes in the business environment when compare to sectors with highly using ICT. Concerning the period of 1997-1999, the TFP growth of most of sectors slowed down and turned to recovery immediately afterwards, 2000-2002.

  • In Android smartphones, many apps are developed as service apps to run in the background. If the memory is insufficient, Android forcibly terminates not only user apps that have not used the CPU for a long time, but also service apps. However, a service app is automatically re-launched after a short period of time, so that it continuously consumes memory space. This paper analyzes the number of running service apps and their memory usage in users' smartphones. The number of service apps accounts for up to 65% of the total number of running apps, and their memory usage accounts for up to 55% of the total memory. Moreover, we investigate the effect of the number of running service apps on the response time of smartphones and apps. As the number of service apps increases, the launching time of user apps increases to 22 times. The booting time and app installation time significantly increase with the number of service apps.

  • This study suggests a way through Hong Kong as an alternative strategy for Korean companies to enter Chinese service market which is rapidly expanding due to China's recent policy switch toward service economy. Service market is generally more regulated, labor-intensive, and domestic demand-oriented than goods market, which makes opening of domestic markets to foreigners slow. In case of China, market control and regulations by the State is tighter than other economies. Therefore, it is important to find ways to avoid regulations from the Chinese government if possible. In this sense, this study investigates the China-Hong Kong CEPA and draws its strategic value for entering Chinese service market by comparing it with the Korea-China FTA service sector. In addition, utilizing the difference in tax agreements between Korea-China and China-Hong Kong, and the human network of Hong Kong entrepreneurs in China may play an important role in reducing the risk that might arise in China.

  • NOTAM is an announcement that is distributed to flight attendants with status information related to aviation. ICAO, the International Civilian Aviation Organization, recommends that a NOTAM service be provided for the SBAS service in order to use the SBAS signal-based access procedure. To comply with ICAO recommendation, KASS must provide NOTAM service to all aircraft landing using SBAS signal in order to provide APV-I SoL service. Therefore, it is necessary to develop KASS NOTAM system to provide KASS NOTAM service. In this paper, we analyzed the regulations related to NOTAM in Korea and abroad and analyzed the present state of NOTAM service in Korea. Based on this, we propose a method of providing KASS NOTAM service. We analyzed the NOTAM system of WAAS in the US and EGNOS in Europe and analyzed the main functional requirements of the KASS NOTAM system.

  • In this paper, we propose for improving QoS in Hospital wireless network using Cellular-IP/PRC(Paging Route Cache) with Paging Cache and Route Cache in Cellular-IP and propose for performance of realtime and non-real time handoff service using Handoff state machine Paging Route Cache. Although the Cellular-IP/PRC technology is devised for mobile internet communication, it has its vulnerability in frequent handoff environment. This handoff state machine using differentiated handoff improves quality of services in Cellular-IP/PRC Suggested algorithm shows better performance than existing technology in wireless mobile internet communication environment. When speech quality is secured considering increment of interference to receive in case of suppose that proposed acceptance method grooves base radio station capacity of transfer node is plenty, and moat of contiguity cell transfer node was accepted at groove base radio station with a blow, groove base radio station new trench lake acceptance method based on transmission of a message electric power estimate of transfer node be. Do it so that may apply composing PC(Paging Cache) and RC(Routing Cache) that was used to manage paging and router in radio Internet network in integral management and all nodes as one PRC(Paging Router Cache), and add hand off state machine in transfer node so that can manage hand off of transfer node and Roaming state efficiently, and studies so that achieve connection function at node. Analyze benevolent person who influence on telephone traffic in system environment and forecasts each link currency rank and imbalance degree, forecast most close and important lake interception probability and lake falling off probability, GoS(Grade of Service), efficiency of cell capacity in QoS because applies algorithm proposing based on algorithm use gun send-receive electric power that judge by looking downward link whether currency book was limited and accepts or intercept lake and handles and displays QoS performance improvement.

  • The purpose of this research is to expand much more the facilities and collections of public libraries in Korea for performance of its function, for the life-long education institution. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, I looked in to the present conditions of the facilities, collections, service facilities in public libraries and suggested a tentative plan on the basis of every kinds of statistics. The result of this thesis can be summarized as follows : 1. Now, 227, 110 populations of the effective service per library are so many that 181 public libraries in Korea have largely deficient state. To solve, a n.0, pplied for Armstrong's standards (5, 000 populations of the effective service per library, and the number of an elementary school 5, 412 elementary schools in Korea). In the former case should be establish 8, 221 public libraries, in the latter case should be established at least 5, 412 public libraries. 2. The public library in Korea is possessed of building areas of 82, 267 pyong (468 pyong per library). They are very poor state comparing with population. Therefore, the building area should be expand according to population by region. Also, the reading facilities of 88, 455 seats, 465 population of the effective service per seat, are largely insufficient of situation. And consequently they should be secured at least 205, 535 seats with standards of five seats per 1, 000 population. 3. The public libraries in Korea keep collection of 4, 517, 280 volumes. As there are 11 volumes per 100 persons, they are very deficient state in figures. Therefore, in this study, suggested Schenk's standard (1 volume per a person) and IFLA standard (2 volumes per a person). Under the circumstances of our country, however, they should be secure at least 41, 106, 993 volumes with a Schenk's standard of one volume per a person. To meet this kind of necessary conditions, there must not only be a national policy but also be a facility for every residents to utilize for educational place, and to every librarians of public libraries, they have to do their best to open their library to every citizens, when needed, with their self-conceit. Cooperating with policy-makers, users, and librarians, making every endeavors to develope Korean libraries, we can promise the hope that our public library will be progressed towards future.

  • For the evaluation of the load carrying capacity of the deteriorated PSC I girder bridge in service load state and the verification of the grade to the reinforcement effect of actual bridge strengthened by external prestressing tendons, the field test using vehicles is applied widely. Because this teat was executed in elastic range, the investigation of the characteristics of behavior caused by live load is only available. And it is impossible to estimate load carrying capacity in limit state and nonlinear behavior after that a crack is appeared. In this study, the 27-year-old prestressed concrete girder bridge is used and various load tests are performed, so we evaluate the behavior characteristics of the bridge in service load state and ultimate load state, and estimate the load carrying capacity of bridge. In addition, the artificial damages are induced from cutting internal tendons, and external tendons is added to strengthen it as much as vanished internal tendons. Next we compare the damage state with the strengthening state. In case of the application of external prestressing method to PSC I girder bridge, the present experiment result may decide more exactly the load carrying capacity of actual bridge, the amount for reinforcement, and the standard of quality control etc. at reinforcement work.

  • This study reviewed the groundwater policies of USA as a benchmarking for the purpose of improving groundwater polices, regulations, and plans in Korea. Each state of the USA has its own unique groundwater policies. Recently, severe drought in the western parts of the USA resulted in the launch of the California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CASGEM) program. CASGEM classified a total of 515 alluvial groundwater basins of the California State to four prior groups (high, medium, low, and very low prioritization). In Texas, a total of 101 Groundwater Conservation Districts (GCDs) over the state has controlled groundwater pumping amounts in their own management areas and 16 Groundwater Management Areas (GMAs) over the state have directly managed groundwater aquifer. Direct management for aquifers by GMAs would be the most scientific method for groundwater management, which expected to provide water consumers the more advavnced groundwater service. These groundwater management strategies of the USA can be possibly considered in groundwater plans for national and local governmental authorities, which possibly results in more optimal groundwater management in Korea.

  • Software Defined Network (SDN) realizes management and control over the underlying forwarding device, along with acquisition and analysis of network topology and flow characters through south bridge protocol. Data path Identification (DPID) is the unique identity for managing the underlying device, so forged DPID can be used to attack the link of underlying forwarding devices, as well as carry out DoS over the upper-level controller. This paper proposes a dynamic defense method based on Client-Puzzle model, in which the controller achieves dynamic management over requests from forwarding devices through generating questions with multi-level difficulty. This method can rapidly reduce network load, and at the same time separate attack flow from legal flow, enabling the controller to provide continuous service for legal visit. We conduct experiments on open-source SDN controllers like Fluid and Ryu, the result of which verifies feasibility of this defense method. The experimental result also shows that when cost of controller and forwarding device increases by about 2%-5%, the cost of attacker's CPU increases by near 90%, which greatly raises the attack difficulty for attackers.
