고속 스위칭 및 고 전력밀도 강압형 컨버터를 위한 무손실 스너버 (Non-Dissipative Snubber for High Switching Frequency and High Power Density Step-Down Converters)

  • In this paper, a non-dissipative snubber for reducing the switching losses in the step down converter is proposed. The conventional step down converter, e.g., buck converter, suffers from serious switching losses and consequentially heat generation because of its hard switching. Thus, it is unsuitable for high switching frequency operation. Reduction of the reactive components' size, such as an output inductor and capacitor, is difficult. The proposed snubber can slow down the increasing current slopes and switch voltage at turn-on and turn-off transients, thereby significantly reducing the switching loses. Additionally, the slowly increasing current during switch turn-on transition, can effectively solve the output rectifier diode reverse recovery problem. Therefore, the proposed non-dissipative snubber not only leads to the efficiency of converter operation at high switching frequency but also reduces the reactive components size in proportion to the switching frequency. To confirm the validity of the proposed circuit, theoretical analysis and experimental results from a 150 W, 1 MHz prototype are presented.

  • 알코올은 생물학적으로 피부부터 위장, 간장과 같은 장기와 말초 및 중추 신경계의 기능과 구조적 변화를 일으키며 그로 인하여 심리적, 생리적 의존과 함께 다양한 정신 장애를 일으킨다. 그리고 실직, 자살, 가정 내 폭력, 범죄 등의 사회적인 문제와 관련이 깊다. 이런 다양한 이유로 알코올 사용 장애는 타과로부터 흔하게 자문이 의뢰되어 조정되는 대표적인 정신신체 질환이다. 이에, 자문 조정 정신의학에서의 알코올 사용 장애의 유병률, 자문률 등의 현황을 살펴보고 알코올 상용장애 환자를 자문 조정하는 의사로서의 역할과 일반적인 원칙, 그리고 초기 치료 계획을 세울 때 고려해야 할 사항 등에 관하여 살펴보고자 한다.

수술후 통증조절을 위한 경막외 차단후 발생한 고위척추차단 -증례 보고- (High Spinal Block following Epidural Block for Postoperative Pain Control -A case report-)

  • High spinal block is a rare complication during epidural block, but it may result in serious events. 56-year-old man with gall stones was scheduled for cholecystectomy under general anesthesia. After operation, lumbar epidural catheterization was done at $T_{8-9}$ interspace for postoperative pain control. At the recovery room, initial bolus drug (0.1% bupivacaine 10 ml containing fentanyl $100{\mu}g$) was administered via epidural catheter and observed carefully. 15 minutes later, hypotension and bradycardia ouccurred. Hartman' solution was administered rapidly and ephedrine 5 mg was injected. 30 minutes after drug administration, loss of consciousness and respiratory arrest developed. Tracheal intubation was done immediately. Cardiovascular and respiratory functions were monitored continuously. The location of intrathecal catheter was confirmed by cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) seen in syringe after aspiration of catheter. The patient recovered gradually and was placed in the ward 4 hours after drug administration, without any problems. He was discharged 1 week later in good health.

  • 현재의 인터넷 환경에서는 트래픽 폭주 공격, 웜 공격 등으로 인해 많은 경제적 손실이 발생하고 있으며 이러한 문제들은 향후 IP 주소의 고갈로 인해 IPv6로 대체되었을 경우 더욱 심각해질 것이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 IPv6 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 공격을 예상하여 이러한 공격을 탐지할 수 있는 트래픽 분석 도구를 설계하고 구현하였다 제안한 트래픽 분석 도구는 패킷 생성 모듈, 패킷 수집 모듈, 판별 모듈, X 윈도우 기반 디스플레이 모듈로 구성되며, 실험 결과, IPv6 환경에서 DAD-NA 메시지 공격, TCP SYN 플러딩 공격, UDP 플러딩 공격, ICMP 플러딩 공격 등을 효과적으로 검출할 수 있었다.

KOMPSAT-1 Satellite Orbit Control using GPS Data

  • The Global Positioning System (GPS) is becoming more attractive navigation means for LEO (Low Earth Orbit) spacecraft due to the data accuracy and convenience for utilization. The anomalies such as serious variations of Dilution-Of-Precision (DOP), loss of infrequent 3-dimensional position fix, and deterioration of instantaneous accuracy of position and velocity data could be observed, which have not been appeared during the ground testing. It may cause lots of difficulty for the processing of the orbit control algorithm using the GPS data. In this paper, the characteristics of the GPS data were analyzed according to the configuration of GPS receiver such as position fix algorithm and mask angle using GPS navigation data obtained from the first Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT). The problem in orbit tracking using GPS data, including the infrequent deterioration of the accuracy, and an efficient algorithm for its countermeasures has also been introduced. The reliability and efficiency of the modified algorithm were verified by analyzing the effect of the results between algorithm simulation using KOMPSAT flight data and ground simulator.

  • The aorta is the most common major thoracic artery injured by blunt chest trauma. Injuries to major aortic arch branch arteries can also occur but are much less common than aortic injuries in the setting of blunt trauma. Although internal mammary artery (IMA) injury is uncommon and rarely diagnosed in cases of blunt chest trauma, it is one of the important sources of bleeding in chest trauma. IMA bleeding can cause ongoing blood loss and may lead to serious conditions such as extensive hemothorax, anterior mediastinal hematoma or its catastrophic complication, cardiac tamponade. However such arotic and branch artery injuries are not easily detected by plain radiograph, and are detected indirectly because of associated mediastinal hematoma. Herein, we report a case of IMA injury caused by blunt chest trauma secondary to pedestrian traffic accident. The injured patient was successfully treated by transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE).

펄스 Nd:YAG 레이저에 의한 브라운관 부품의 용접시 빔의 출력특성과 광학변수 (Characteristics of Output Energy and Optical Parameters in Welding of Braun Tubes by Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser)

  • During laser spot welding of the braun tube electron gun, phenomena such as serious spattering and oxidative reaction, etc. were occurred. The spatter occurred from weld pool affects the braun tube, namely it blocks up a very small hole on the shadow mask and causes short circuit between two poles of the electron gun. We guessed that high power density and oxidative reaction are main sources of these problems. So, we studied to prevent and to reduce spatter occurring in spot welding of the braun tube electron gun using pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The characteristics of laser output power was estimated, and the loss of laser energy by optical parameter and spatter was measured by powermeter. The effects of welding parameters, laser defocused distance and incident angle, were investigated on the shape and penetration depth of the laser welded bead in flare and flange joints. From these results, the laser peak power was a major factor to control penetration depth and to occur spatter. It was found that the losses of laser energy by optic parameter and sticked spatter affect seriously laser weldability of thin sheets.

VOC 회수를 위한 이젝터 시스템에 관한 수치모사 및 실험적 연구 (Numerical Simulation and Experimental Study on an Ejector System for VOC Recovery)

  • This paper is a basic study on volatile organic compounds(VOC) recovery system in a crude oil carrier. VOC is easily evaporated in cargo tankers during loading and transportation of crude oil, causes serious environmental contamination and a huge economic loss. An ejector system is designed to mix VOC gas into crude oil flow to reduce VOC concentration. Detail two-phase flow inside the ejector is simulated using a commercial CFD code. To verify the numerical prediction, a scale-down experiment is conducted. Instead of crude oil and VOC, water and air are used as the working fluids. Flow characteristics and main parameters are obtained by two-phase flow visualization and PIV measurements. Air volume flow rate induced by the ejector is compared with respect to the volume flow rate of water using experimental and numerical results. Overall performance of the two-phase ejector predicted by the CFD simulation agrees well with that of the experiment.

경막외차단 유도중 발생한 전척추마취 -증례보고- (A Total Spinal Anesthesia Developed during an Induction of an Epidural Block -A case report-)

  • Total spinal anesthesia is a well documented serious life threatening complication which results from an attempted spinal or epidural analgesia. We had an accidental total spinal anesthesia associated with a cranial nerve paralysis and an eventual unconsciousness during epidural analgesia. A 45-year-old female with an uterine myoma was scheduled for a total abdominal hysterectomy under the epidural analgesia. A lumbar tapping for the epidural analgesia was performed in a sitting position at a level between $L_{3-4}$, using a 18 gauge Tuohy needle. Using the "Loss of Resistance" technique to identify the epidural space, the first attempt failed; however, the second attempt with the same level and the technique was successful. The epidural space was identified erroneously. However, fluid was dripping very slowly through the needle, which we thought was the fluid from the normal saline which was injected from the outside to identify the space. Then 20 ml of 2% lidocaine was administered into the epidural space. Shortly after the spinal injection of lidocaine, many signs of total spinal anesthesia could be clearly observed, accompanied by the following progressing signs of intracrainal nerve paralysis: phrenic nerve, vagus nerve, glossopharyngeal nerve and trigeminal nerve in that order. Then female was intubated and her respiration was controlled without delay. The scheduled operation was carried out uneventfully for 2 hours and 20 minutes. The patient recovered gradually in th4e reverse order four hours from that time.

Regional Distribution of Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus Strains in Korea and Identification of Resistant Wheat

  • Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV) has been a major disease causing a severe loss of yield in winter cereals worldwide. It has been recently reported that BYDV occurs frequently in wheat field and also causes serious yield reduction in Korea. This study was performed to investigate the regional distributions of BYDV strains in Korea and to identify the resistant cultivars or lines of wheat to the predominant BYDV strains, providing basic information for the breeding of BYDV-resistant wheat varieties. Using RT-PCR and EcoRI digestion methods, the regional distribution of BYDV strains in Korea from 1999 to 2000 showed that PAV strain was mainly detected about 65% (Vic-PAV 52.6% ; CN-PAV 47.4%) and MAV strain about 3%. Using ELISA test for the examination of BYDV resistance with 17 cultivars and 4 lines among Korean wheat, three cultivars, Gurumil, Topdongmil, and Olgurumil, were susceptible to BYDV and the others were resistant. In plant growth and yield component responses to BYDV infection, Gurumil showed significant difference between the uninfected and the infected, suggesting the most susceptible to BYDV among Korean wheat, but Eun-pamil and Seohae118 did no difference, an indication that they have the highest resistance.
